Good Morning Guys: Everything You Need to Know About iOS 11.2.1
I'm actually on vacation as you guys can see, totally unprepared for making this video but Apple has just released an update iOS 11.2.1 and I'd like to talk to you guys about that. It's gonna be a little noisy not my usual studio but hopefully you guys enjoy the change of scenery here.
iOS 11.2.1 is out, oh my gosh I'm actually kind of nervous because I am holding this twenty stories up and I have sweaty palms right now trying to drop my iphone ten definitely not a drop test I want to be doing anyways. So I was loving two point two point one is out it's a pretty small update took me um not too long to go ahead and install that and it has one crucial change now it is four hundred thirty megabytes so it was pretty big and before I get into the change wanted to mention how much storage it actually saved. So before I had fifty 7.62 available after fifty seven point five eight so it actually took up a little bit more storage but no biggie there anyways.
So the one major change that this does include is actually listed in the changelog of the release notes here. Basically, iOS eleven point two point one fixes bugs including an issue I could disable remote access to shared users of the home app. So basically not too long ago there was a vulnerability found in the home kit application by nine to five Mac where you could actually get into the home kit app and change these settings mess with your device's unlock doors even to your house without the necessary authorization which was kind of crazy.
So from the server side Apple actually disable that feature and thus this actually patches that and reintroduces the feature for controlling your home kit accessories. So if you guys notice that you couldn't share certain settings with other users with on home kits iOS eleven point two point one definitely does fix that so it's nice for that to be there and I'm sure Apple did patch a couple other smaller bugs in there it definitely has been getting better since eleven point two on my iPhone ten not as buggy pretty stable. So if you guys didn't want the latest bug fixes definitely do update to this anyway.
So that is the major change apple told us about again there might be some smaller under the hood that we don't know about but you know that's to be seen yet and I was eleven point three I was actually expecting to drop this week I'm surprised that did it otherwise I wanted to talk about the Geo break with you guys.
So if you wanted a chance to jailbreak your device a better chance on iPhone seven success or six then the newer ones but you could still do it on the iPhone ten you guys need to get down to iOS eleven point one point two right now you guys can do that in iTunes by using the updates method by selecting the eleven point one point two firmware through the update settings in iTunes and it'll downgrade you to it so it's not too difficult to do I would recommend if you guys are waiting for a jailbreak because there's a very good possibility we will get a jailbreak by Christmas on eleven point one point two.
I definitely did downgrade my personal device to eleven point one point two just to wait for that so jailbreak might be coming on eleven point one point to be aware of that otherwise I wanted to go ahead and run a Geekbench see if anything has changed in this little tiny update all right and this is what I got so ten thousand three hundred fifty seven volt time four thousand two hundred eighty seven single.
So before updating on eleven point one point two, this is what I got. If you guys were wondering the difference between these two if you wanted to stand eleven point one point two for the update this is it and it's very minor you know it's gonna be different every single time I run it but overall I would say that I was eleven point two point one is gonna be a lot more stable within eleven point one point two obviously you're gonna give that sacrifice it for the jailbreak but still a jailbreak on an organic LED iPhone ten hopefully it does happen in the future but at least to have it on an iPhone seven or below.
There's a small little update Google patch they're always good to be on the latest firmware if you guys want the best stability and bug fixes hope you guys enjoyed it.
