EPIC £500 Gaming PC Build December 2015 [1080P ULTRA - 60FPS!]

Building a PC: A Budget-Friendly Option

When it comes to building a PC, there are many factors to consider, from the processor and motherboard to the graphics card and case. In this article, we'll explore one budget-friendly option that offers great performance at an affordable price.

First, let's take a look at the CPU. The AMD APU Ryzen 5 3600 is a popular choice among PC builders, offering 6 cores and 12 threads at a relatively low price of £95. However, this chip can get quite hot, which is where the value comes in. By pairing it with an aftermarket cooler, such as the Cooler Master Hyper TX3, we can keep temperatures under control and unlock more overclocking headroom.

The midplate is another crucial component to consider when building a PC. One drawback of the AM4 platform is that there haven't been many new CPUs released on this platform in recent months, which means some motherboards may not be as aesthetically pleasing. In this build, we've chosen the Gigabyte GA-78 LMT USB3 Micro ATX motherboard for £35. While it's a solid choice, it does have its drawbacks in terms of looks.

For RAM, we've opted for two 4GB DIMMs and Kingston HyperX Fury White 8GB modules. This provides ample storage for our operating system and applications, and is more than enough for most users. DDR4 at 3600MHz is a standard specification that should provide plenty of performance for most tasks.

When it comes to storage, we've taken the Best of Both Worlds approach by combining an SSD and a hard drive into one. The Kingston SSDNow V300 is a value-oriented option that offers excellent performance, and can be had for £30. For the second drive, we've chosen the Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB hard drive, which provides plenty of storage space for our files and programs.

The graphics card is another important component to consider when building a PC. In this build, we've opted for the MSI GeForce GTX960, which offers 2GB of frame buffer memory and a relatively low price point of £25. While it may not be the most powerful option available, it's a great choice for those on a budget.

Finally, let's talk about the case. We've chosen the Fractal Design Core 1100, which is a solid budget-friendly option that should provide plenty of room for our components. If we wanted to upgrade this case in the future, we could easily do so by swapping out the stock cooler for an aftermarket one.

The power supply is another critical component to consider when building a PC. In this build, we've opted for the EVGA 600W 80+ certified ATX power supply, which provides plenty of juice for our components and should last us for many years to come. At £30, it's an excellent value proposition that shouldn't break the bank.

In conclusion, building a PC doesn't have to be expensive. By choosing budget-friendly options like the AMD Ryzen 5 3600, Gigabyte GA-78 LMT motherboard, Kingston HyperX Fury White RAM, and EVGA 600W power supply, we can build a powerful PC that should last us for many years to come. Whether you're a seasoned PC builder or just starting out, this budget-friendly option is definitely worth considering.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwelcome back to another geek video and this has to be the most requested video uh pass from the entire uh month and this is my £500 gaming PC build uh for December 2015 this is my last 500 build at 500 gaming PC build of 2015 before I hit the 2016 PC builds out so drop a like rting and make sure to subscribe so you don't miss a thing this this build is very capable of your favorite AAA titles at 1080p uh high high settings whilst achieving over 60 FPS as well as some of the easier to run games such as Minecraft world Warcraft League of Legends and csgo at some really really high frame rates above 100 FPS and ultra settings of course so without any further Ado let's get straight into the build for the CPU went for the AMD FX 63 6350 sorry comes out the box at a really 93.9 GHz but these AMD F CPUs are renowned for their overclocking performance it's a six score CPU which means you're going to get that advantage in some of the games some of the newer games that support that and it is a slightly older chip at £95 which means it can get a little bit on the hotter side and that is where the value comes in and because it gets hotter I've gone for a CPU Cooler and after market one The Cooler Master hyper tx3 comes in at £20 um and is a really really solid CPU caller much superior to the stock caller that you'd receive in the box and of course you can upgrade the CPU caller later on down the line if you did one but this will give you a little bit of Leverage for overclocking as well the midle board is where this build starts to get quite interesting what one drawback of the am3 plus platform is that there haven't been a few CPUs in quite a while on this platform and by quite a quite a while I mean around 12 months and that means some of the motherboards aren't exactly the most aesthetically pleasing so for £35 this gigabyte GA 78 LMT usb3 microatx am3 plus motherboard bit of a mouthful is a really really solid choice but isn't so great in the looks Department unfortunately for Ram I went for 2 4 GB dims and Kingston hypix fury White 8 GB is plenty for this build and DDR 3600 really standard run of the mil runof-the-mill Ram sorry I I do love this this RAM and you've got another support support sorry for another 2 GB dims of ram if you do so desire in the future to Total 16 GB of RAM the storage I went for The Best of Both Worlds and that's not combining an SSD and a hard drive into one that's not just a hard drive that's an SSD and a hard drive separately so I've gone for Kingston SSD now v300 these are the really value oriented ssds that will kill any really any hard drive sorry uh performance- Wise It's the SSD nv300 from Kingston GB is more than enough for your OS and a couple of games and a few music uh music school workor documents etc etc and 30£ 35 so this is a very solid SSD choice for 30 hard drives keep going down and down the segate Barracuda 1 TB Drive is more than enough capacity wise to give you over 1.1 terab of storage within this build you can go for a Western Digital Caviar blue if you wish however I'd love the Sega Barracuda drives I completely trust them and they're very very solid Choice especially for £0 the video card I went for was an MSI gForce gtx960 it's got a 2 GB frame buffer and um cost the grand total of25 which really is nothing for a card of this this quality I really do have to admit MSI have done a fantastic job in the looks department on this card the green and the black is is a very nice color scheme in my opinion unfortunately the case we've gone for hasn't got a window which means you aren't going to be able to show that off uh but it's a really nice looking card nevertheless the io layout is brilliant uh with three display ports DVI and HDMI meaning support for triple 4K surround at 60 HZ gaming setups and the back play on this card is very nice so hats off to MSI sorry for doing such a great job on this card for the case I went for the fractal design core 1100 this is definitely where I save some of the money and if you did want to get rid of the stock the aftermarket CPU caller and use the stock caller which wouldn't give you any overclocking Headroom uh then you could upgrade this case to one with a window for example but the core 1100 is a very solid case and frattle some very nice budget stuff and some very nice high-end stuff as well so you know this case is going to be executed very very well for the power supply I went for the evj 600 wat 80 plus certified ATX power supply I love evj power supplies I use them every day from the budget stuff right up to their Supernova G2 750 W power supplies this build has only got a TDP of 354 Watts but a good power supply is integral to this build especially SE seen as we using AMD CPU which are typically more power hungry and that graphics card uh is what isn't too power hungry it does use auxiliary power so we do want to keep it nice and Juiced up and for £30 a very very very solid power supply choice if you have found this video helpful enjoyed this video found it entertaining then make sure to drop a like rting below to bump this
