The first test is zero to 100 in sport mode. And... it's dead on factory claim! The gearbox shifts seamlessly, and the acceleration is incredible. But I want to try something a little different - manual mode for the gearbox. Oh man, this gearbox is one of the best ever made. It's a double-clutch unit that's specifically designed for the Audi R8, and it's just amazing.

audi r8 v10 spider the face lifted model now today i am doing this review because this is a spider supercar which means max does not fit in there so i'm stepping in so today i'm going to show you around it show you the lovely speck we have it in i'm going to tell you how we got it which is kind of a special story do 0-100 measurements on the road right here and then we're going to take it to the autobahn and see if we can come near the top speed of this v10 beast of a car but before we begin don't forget to subscribe and check us out on instagram at other top now all right let me first tell you how we got this car a few weeks ago i got a message from andreas on instagram and he said hey i saw you did a car swap with autumn on with your m3 and their mclaren 570 gt do you want to do a car swap with mine so i checked out his instagram he has a few very cool cars go check him out on instagram andy the dawn he has some very special cars and he has a very good taste so i decided i wanted this audi r8 so we planned a place and we met up and it was raining windy as hell so i said to him okay we don't know each other but let's just return the cars on monday and it was friday back then so make it a long weekend and he was like yeah sure why not we trusted each other with our very expensive cars without even knowing each other so i think that's pretty special so we've had the weekend with this the facelifted audi r8 v10 spider now we've never had a spider before and what's also special this is not the plus version this is the basic audi r8 v10 spider if you can call it that because there's nothing basic about this car now the front end has the new audi look with those three they seem like intakes and they are a reference to the old rally cars of audi but it does look really cool i think the front end of the facelift model is a lot better than the preface lift now we've got these beautiful audi sport wheels with michelin pilot sport 4s's on there so i'm really confident to do launches top speed runs when we have these lovely pieces of rubber uh what's also confidence inspiring is the fact that we have carbon ceramic brakes now on the non-plus version these are an optional extra and on the plus version they are standard equipment now these are two 45 section front tires 20 inch rims on the rear however we have 305 so that's a big difference 245 305 so a lot of the power is going to the rear which you really notice because at times it does want to take a step left or right which is really nice i mean audi sport models are known for being a bit boring at times but this one certainly isn't so the rear of the car the facelift model has these two big ass oval exhausts which is actually going back again because the previous audi r8 v10 also had these oval tips and then came this gen of audi r8 and they got these like square exhausts which i think fit the design of the car a bit better because the rounded ones i'm not sure this is not really a roundy curvy car so they do however produce a lovely lovely sound and that's because underneath here is a 5.2 liter v10 yes sir a 2021 model with a v10 naturally aspirated no turbos they had to fit an opf filter to keep it running in 2021 in the eu but the good news is that really doesn't affect the sound that much it still sounds like a freaking f1 car which that's good news guys that's really good news because with other audi performance models like the audi rs3 we've seen that the adding the opf in influences performance and sound a lot and not in a good way now 0-100 is done in 3.5 seconds and the top speed for this spider is 322 kilometers an hour so let's get driving now before we do so i just wanted to say that what a spec guy this is aventuri green it's a green gray color that's from the porsche 992 so i really really love this spec it's such a special color it's it's not silver which is astonishing for an audi and it doesn't have a black interior which i've never seen before with an audi r8 of this generation i mean this is superb this is so much better than just black black black and carbon fiber which is getting a bit dull okay so let's get going it's a nice and dry evening it's 9 30. nobody's here nobody's on the autobahn let's go okay i'm going to switch to dynamic mode and turn on esp sport so let me explain once more this is a 10 hertz gps module and it connects to the phone and the phone is the software and that's the hardware and with this you can do very very accurate acceleration tests breaking tests quarter mile anything anything acceleration or of clean tarmac and let's see what this thing can do okay so transmission in sport mode car in dynamic mode esp in sport mode that's it very aggressive shift and that's zero to 100 in 3.5 seconds so that's dead on factory claim okay let's go to manual mode for the gearbox oh man that gearbox this is a special double clutch unit made for the audi r8 and it's just one of the best gearboxes ever made oh jesus christ oh and in combination with the quattro system you just pull out of a corner and the gearbox emphasizes that feeling of or unlimited acceleration um as i said the sound it's still there guys it's still there that opf doesn't stand a chance against that mighty v10 thank god oh man what a sound so the handling um this one this audi r8 has the non-magnetic ride so it doesn't have adaptive suspension but this has a passive setup so it can't be adjusted but it's really really good it's a really good setup it's perfectly set up in between dynamic and comfort and it's so good that i wouldn't advise anyone spending money on the magnetic ride because this is just perfect what's also really nice about the v10 spider is that you have this little window that you can open so you can enjoy that exhaust at any speed no wind goes in here so that's just a big theater piece right there it's it's unbelievably cool so even though we have the roof closed now oh the sound it's still there that awesome awesome sound you get with convertible supercars a lot of people say they don't make any sense convertible supercard they are made for performance going on the track and then you cut off the roof and ruin the entire structure but these later last generation convertible supercars are just awesome when it comes to enjoying the car they are even more fun than the closed ones okay so let's turn on the gopro and let's see what this thing can do now that's 100 to 200 in 6.9 seconds which is amazing that's about as fast as a lamborghini aventador s roadster that's amazing oh my god this thing is awesome jesus christ that's fast oh thank god andy went for these carbon ceramic brakes because you need you need the braking power when you go this fast this easily here we go kick down that is quick i think it's such a cool thing that we can still get a v10 without any turbos on it jesus christ look at it oh stomping those brakes is just just as nice as stomping on the accelerator it's so enjoyable wow what a car guys i think i don't need the plus version i think this one plus v10 version is just perfect you don't need any more horses you don't need all the optical carbon bits because for that for that over the top drama we have the lamborghini huracan oh my god this is more of an elegant supercar more towards the gt towards a gt because this thing is a supercar it's no
