First look - Apple's W1-equipped BeatsX earphones

**First Look: Apple Beats X Headphones**

The latest addition to the Apple lineup is the Beats X headphones, and we're excited to share our first impressions with you. The Beats X are designed to offer a seamless listening experience, combining the best of both worlds - comfort and sound quality.

One of the standout features of the Beats X is their unique design. Gone are the days of bulky earbuds; instead, these headphones feature a flexible metal cable that wraps around your neck, providing a snug and comfortable fit. The cable is also designed to be durable, with a weighty feel that suggests it can withstand regular use.

But what really sets the Beats X apart is their sound quality. With an 8-hour battery life and wireless connectivity, these headphones are perfect for those who want to enjoy their music without being tethered to their device. The sound is rich and full-bodied, with deep bass notes that will satisfy any music lover's needs.

The earbuds themselves come in a range of sizes, including the standard tips and two additional tips that can be used to create a secure seal around your ear. This design feature allows for excellent noise isolation, blocking out background sounds and letting you focus on your music or podcasts.

But how do they perform when it comes to pairing with other Apple devices? We're pleased to report that pairing the Beats X with our MacBook Pro was seamless, with the W1 chip instantly recognizing and connecting to our device. Similarly, switching between devices is a breeze, with the headphones automatically detecting which one you're using.

We were also impressed by the earbuds' sound quality when tested on both our iPhone and MacBook Pro. The bass notes are deep and resonant, while the mids and highs are clear and well-defined. Whether you're listening to music, podcasts, or audiobooks, these headphones will provide an immersive experience that's hard to beat.

**Design and Materials**

One of the most interesting aspects of the Beats X is their use of advanced materials. The earbuds themselves are made from a combination of metals and plastics, with a durable outer shell that protects the internal components. The cable is also designed to be flexible, but still retains its strength and durability.

The band that wraps around your neck is surprisingly soft and comfortable, making it easy to wear these headphones for extended periods. This design feature also makes them more convenient than some of their competitors, who often require larger cases to store the earbuds.

**Pairing and Connectivity**

We were pleased with the ease of pairing the Beats X with our devices. The power button is intuitive and responsive, and the W1 chip quickly recognizes and connects to our Apple devices. This feature allows for seamless switching between devices, making it easy to switch between your phone, music player, or laptop.

The earbuds also come with standard controls, including a power button, play/pause button, and volume controls. The magnetic closure on the two ear tips ensures that they stay securely in place, even when you're running or exercising.

**Verdict**

Overall, we're impressed by the Beats X headphones. Their unique design, sound quality, and pairing capabilities make them an excellent choice for anyone looking to upgrade their wireless listening experience. With their 8-hour battery life and durable construction, these earbuds are sure to last a long time.

Whether you're a music lover, podcast enthusiast, or audiobook reader, the Beats X have something to offer. "WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey guys this Max with apple Insider and Welcome to our first look of the brand new beats X wireless headphones so Apple just released these today and they hit the store so we're here to take a look and talk about them and see what they offer so um the Apple airpods came out a few months ago and you guys have seen our uh review video we actually just did a one month a little bit more than a one month uh review on that so make sure you guys go check that out and we will be doing a comparison video uh these compared to the Apple airpods so these are a little bit different um these have interchangeable tips as you guys see and they also have these little wings that attach that are going to help them stay in your ears better now along with that they use these different interchangeable tips that are rubber so those seal into your actual ear canal so we have uh 3 months of Apple music for free beat sticker some information there and then here on the other side we have a lightning cable so Apple did switch over now that they own beads from micro USB to lightning but they include one of these we have a case here that's going to hold the headphones and your accessories in there so on the back here we have some information next to the charging cable fast fuel which is in 5 minutes of charging you'll get two hours of playback which is super convenient with bluetooth earbuds because if they're dead you can't listen to them so that's very uh handy and also on a full charge you're going to get 8 hours of playback which is really nice it should last you all day without any issues now like you guys see here we have a lightning cable to recharge so yes Apple did switch over for micro USB uh now that they own the Beats brand so we'll pull that out of here and we also have a case silicone case that's going to hold everything inside of it so it's not too large but definitely isn't as small as um the airpods case and just very simple opening throw everything in and then close it back up now let's get to the actual earbuds themselves we're going to pull this tab open and here they are so the actual cable is supposed to be very flexible but super heavy duty uh so Best of Both Worlds and it's actually designed in the late 50s by the Navy the material that they're using inside of here so that's definitely interesting so if you guys see here the band is actually quite long um you're going to have this around your neck and then these are going to come up to your uh your ears similar to some other brands that are out there but typically you have a really large plastic unit that goes around that houses all the electronics and the batteries where here we have a really really flexible metal cable so I think it's going to be a lot more um convenient it's you're not going to feel it as much so on this side we don't have any controls it's likely the battery that's in here and then on the other side we have um kind of our uh control unit with the power button and then up here we have our standard controls uh so three buttons so you can skip go to next song turn Siri on stuff like that and of course here we have the actual buds themselves now what's really interesting is they made the magnetic which is really nice so you have them around your neck uh you can actually take these two ear tips and connect them and then that way they're not going to come off it's going to kind of hold everything together so let's check out what the pairing process is like on one side we have this power button that we're going to hold down it's going to turn on the unit and that W1 chip as you guys see showed up basically instantly going to hit connect and there we go we're connected very quick very simple 89% and I'm going to hit done now we're going to take a look at how easy it is to switch over to your other Apple devices opening up my MacBook Pro I'm going to go and select the little volume logo and as you guys see right here our beats X show up going to select that and there we go we're connected so switching back over to my iPhone I'm going to go ahead and insert these we'll test out how it sounds so immediately apparent uh is how well these seal in and I haven't touched the different ear tips these are just the ones that come on but it already knocks out any background noise and I'm even uh having a harder time hearing myself so these are going to knock out if you're outside you're running you want to just uh take all the noises out focus on your music or podcasts or anything else these are going to do a really good job so let's uh turn on a little bit of music and see what they can do so I listen to a variety of music and it's immediately apparent the amount of bass that you're getting out of these of course this is uh beats product so they are going to be base heavy um I don't think the base was overpowering the mids are the highs uh but it sounded really really good you're definitely going to get more base out of these than something like the airpods um overall I think they sounded great and because they seal out a lot of that uh background the volume sounds really good and it just I think it's pretty balanced and good sounding so if you enjoy listening to a variety of music it's going to do a good job in that respect so let's go ahead and uh spin this around and try out the case and since the band that goes around your neck is uh quite soft you're actually able to use a case like this whereas a lot of the competitors you have to have a much larger case uh for storing them so this
