2025 Nissan Patrol (Y63) - Nissan's iconic SUV has got BIGGER, BETTER and HEAVIER at 3.5 tonnes !

The New Nissan Patrol: A Massive and Impressive Vehicle

As I stood before the new Nissan Patrol, I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe at its sheer size and scale. The car is massive, with a ride height that can be raised to give maximum breakover and entry angles for off-road driving. This makes it an excellent choice for those who need to tackle challenging terrain, such as sand dunes or rocky mountainous regions. For those who prioritize comfort and convenience, the Patrol's high ride height also provides ample clearance for large vehicles, making it ideal for towing and hauling heavy loads.

The Patrol's design is heavily influenced by its iconic predecessor, with the classic Patrol logo emblazoned on the side panel. The rear tailgate features a distinctive double daytime running light, which adds to the car's aggressive and imposing appearance. When you come around to the back of the car, you'll notice that the massive boot space is easily accessible, thanks to a cleverly designed rear door that swings upwards with ease. With three seats in the back row, the Patrol can accommodate up to eight people, making it an excellent choice for families or large groups.

The Patrol's towing capacity is impressive, with a maximum weight of 3.5 tons, which should allow owners to haul heavy trailers without issue. However, this also means that the car's overall weight has increased significantly, making it more challenging to maneuver on paved roads. Nevertheless, the Patrol's advanced suspension system and robust construction ensure that it can handle even the most demanding off-road terrain with ease.

As I explored the interior of the Patrol, I was struck by its abundance of premium materials and cutting-edge features. The central console is dominated by a range of physical buttons, which I found to be an attractive design choice. The two massive screens in front of me are also a highlight, providing easy access to navigation, entertainment, and other essential functions. With Google integration as standard, the Patrol offers seamless connectivity to Google Maps, allowing owners to navigate with ease.

One of the Patrol's most innovative features is its invisible hood technology, which uses a combination of cameras and sensors to project images of the front of the car onto the bonnet, creating an illusion of a solid hood. This allows drivers to park and maneuver with confidence, even in tight spaces. The air conditioning system also boasts an advanced cooling system that can detect the temperature preferences of each passenger and direct cool air to where it's needed most.

In addition to its impressive features and spacious interior, the Patrol also offers a range of convenience options, including wireless charging and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto integration. With three rows of seating available, the Patrol provides ample space for passengers, making it an excellent choice for long road trips or family outings. As I explored the back of the car, I was impressed by its massive screens, which should keep kids entertained on even the longest journeys.

As I reflect on my experience with the new Nissan Patrol, I'm struck by its sheer scale and complexity. While it may not be ideal for everyday driving in the UK, I believe that this car has the potential to become a flagship model for Nissan, offering unparalleled off-road capabilities and advanced technology features. With deliveries set to begin later this year, I'll be keeping a close eye on how well the Patrol meets its promise of carrying on the legacy of its predecessors.

Overall, the new Nissan Patrol is an imposing and impressive vehicle that checks all the right boxes for those seeking a capable off-roader with plenty of space and advanced features. While it may not be to everyone's taste in terms of size, I believe that this car has the potential to become a modern classic, offering unparalleled driving experience and versatility.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey guys and welcome to petrop ped and welcome to Abu Dhabi I am here for the global reveal of the brand new Nissan Patrol now interestingly this isn't a vehicle we're going to get in the UK that doesn't mean to say you can't import one though but I really wanted to come here because I think it's a fast ating car here in the Middle East the Nissan Patrol has legendary status but what we have in front of us we've got all six previous generations of the Nissan Patrol and then we get the big reveal we get to see what the new Seventh Generation Nissan Patrol is going to be like let's head over here and I'll show you more now I give you warning it's a bit of a bunfight in here there are lots of people around but let's take a walk around the six generations of Nissan Patrol before we see the latest vehicle we're going to start off with this the original Nissan Patrol 1950 this car came out and a look at that and instantly see Echoes of uh Jeep you look at a Willis Jeep or an original series Land Rover look at it utilitarian those off-road tires this front grill it's a fantastic little thing it's so tiny and so dinky as well this was also the first ever car to climb Mount Fuji so we went then from uh the first generation we come over here this is the second generation this Amber trol now a little bit cleaner and it's funny you look at the generation increases in series Land Rover it's very very similar at this point it's still an open top vehicle it's still obviously very much aimed at the off-road Market it is beautiful but look in there and I just see series Land Rover cracking little thing but here in the Middle East the Nissan Patrol has gained almost a legendary status and for me it starts when we head over this way and we start looking at gen 3 Nissan Patrol now we've got an enclosed car we've got a more modern family oriented maybe a more usable vehicle clearly very much based off-road higher ride High offro road tires side steps and then you look inside I mean this is now looking much more like a kind of modern day 4x4 let's head over here though cuz now we're coming up to the more modern day we have to mind the steps keep tripping over getting bumped into by people getting crossed over by people now we're a little bit more up to date we've got bullbars front and rear we've got uh roof rack or roof rails it's a seven seat vehicle vehicle this is now the June bashing off-road utilitarian vehicle that became a real cult here now it's interesting for me in the UK we love our Range Rovers and we love Defender we've never really had that much of an affinity with Nissan Patrol or even something like a Toyota Land Cruiser but you come here to the Gulf States and they absolutely love those things let's head over this way cuz now with the fifth generation Nissan Patrol one of the things that the guys here in the Gulf really really love doing is modifying their cars and this has got a 4.8 L straight 6 engine and it is hugely tunable by all accounts talking to some of the guys here you can get best part of a th000 horsepower out of one of these things and then you bring it onto the desert and you have an absolute riot but it's this is the the real kind of the real daddy and as I said we just don't see them so in the UK you look inside it now it's a more modern interior you've got really nice comfortable seats three rows of seats it's a cool thing a really really cool thing if we come around the back clearly defined by things like having the the big tire on the back you've got excellent towing capacity 3 and 1/2 ton towing capacity means it's very very usable and then finally over here one of the things you may well have noticed as we've gone up the generations these things have got bigger and Bigg bigger and bigger you compare it to the first gen Patrol was Tiny look at the size of this thing it is absolutely massive to the point where it's almost too big I think for the UK market and UK roads this now has the top spec one of these has now a V8 rather than a straight 6 it's a big 7 seat sports utility vehicle it's very very capable off-road especially in the sand that is hugely important to the DNA of the Nissan Patrol but it also needs to be a usable vehicle in cities and towns so the big question is what's the new one going to be like when we see the reveal I'm pretty much sure it's going to be this kind of scale this kind of size what's the power Trin going to be what's the onboard Tech going to be I cannot wait to see the reveal we are just about 20 minutes to half an hour away from finding out what the latest generation of this sand Patrol is going to be like can't wait over well as these car launches tend to be that was very very spectacular they built this incredible indoor sand June in here and they had a whole show with dancers and music and lights they had a lovely tribute at the end with all the flags of the different ations that have contributed to making the patrol and now it's the bunfight trying to basically get access to the car there's a lot of people trying to get access to this car let me try and walk you around the new Nissan Patrol first thing I want to talk about is the size of this vehicle I am 6'3 and look how high the Bonnet is to me it's a 5.2 M long car but this car get ready for it weighs 3 and 1/2 tons 3 and 1/2 tons it's got a two a 3 and half L twin turbo V6 425 horsepower 800 Newton M of torque so it's got enough go to get it down the road dominated on the front end by these daytime running lights this kind of Double C daytime running light which is really nice and the bar then follows through all the way across through the Nissan badge the family link if you look at the um patrols of the past this kind of vshape here on the grill is something that you'll see in the previous generations of control and what they've tried to do is obviously refresh and bring this up to the modern day but also keep some of the Heritage I really really like that it is a massive Bonnet though if you come around air suspension wise that's a really interesting thing for me so it's running air suspension it's got the ability to change its ride height depending on the drive mode you're in by about 7 cm in Highway mode it will Hunker itself down to be as aerodynamic and as efficient as possible and also can Aid Ingress and egress to the car but if you're off-road you can raise the ride height to give you maximum breakover and entry angles which I think is really really good or departure and entry angles rather if you come around the side it's a big seven seat car this I am 6'3 as I keep mentioning it's very very tall in its maximum ride height that's for sure this signature rise in the Bodywork here with the patrol writing on there is such an iconic um uh part of the history and the the previous generations of the car and when you come around the rear of the car that double daytime running light look here is again reflected in the rear tailgate it is a massive massive boot space let me see if I can open the boot and just show you so at the moment we've got the third rower seats raised um but it's a it's a proper that there are three seats in the back so you've got a proper eight seat car forget the seven seats of the two small seats you could get three adults in the back of that it is gig anorm big tow hitch on the back 3 and 1/2 tons uh brake Towing weight which you'd expect but that does mean that the car combined if you got maximum trailer that's a 7 ton vehicle so in some markets that's going to be a bit challenging with your driving license but a load and loads of space there let me just pop that back down again and then in the back you've got an infotainment system we'll try and jump in the back of the car and in the front of the car in a moment just to to show you and have a look around there but it's a very very interesting car it's just massive as I've said this car isn't something that's coming to the UK I'm sure there will be some that are brought in by private users it's just too big however here in the Middle East in Australia in New Zealand in parts of Asia this is such a massively important car for Nissan it's almost you can't understate it really clearly it's going to go toe to to Toe with things like the Toyota Land Cruiser but the guys here all the locals they clearly you can see the passion that they have for these cars they are proper go anywhere cars they'll hit the dunes they'll hit the highways and I wanted to come because I think there will be some trickle down technology from Patrol that we'll see in other Nissans maybe things like xtrail for example certainly the infotainment system that we'll see very shortly with the integration of Google the advanced um suspension system so yeah let's jump on the inside and have a look at the interior this is a huge car in here loads of Premium materials I guess first things to note dominated by this Central console with lots of physical buttons in there which I really like you got six different off mode off-road driving modes these two screens are huge it's got complete Google integration so it can integrate with Google Maps if you're not a Google fan that is not a problem you can still use wireless and um wired Apple carplay an Android auto you got a wireless charge map just there there's a huge Bonnet out the front it has an invisible Hood technology so it's got a whole range of different cameras and what it can do is make on that front camera make the hood disappear so you can see exactly where the wheels are so you can place the wheels when you're off-roading it's also got a very clever system for the air conditioning it will monitor the different passengers they can work out what your thermal temperature is like and basically point the the cool air to the warmer passengers then final thing in the back it's got some massive great big screens to keep the kids happy and a third row of seats so there's plenty of room in here that's for sure so I know a slightly different style of video for me but the new Nissan Patrol what an imposing vehicle it is packed full of Technology very important to this Market I think it's probably the biggest car I've ever featured on the channel that's for sure certainly in terms of weight but it will be interesting to see when it gets um on the road I think later this year November December time is when deliveries start I think it will be really interesting to see how successful whether it can carry on that Legacy the six Generations that went before it whether it can carry the torch and carry on that Nissan Patrol Legacy but let me know what you think can you imagine cars this big in the UK but put some comments in the comments below but if you've enjoyed that give me a thumbs up comments below are always welcome if you haven't done so ready please subscribe to peted for plenty more content to come and I'll see you on the next film but for now you take care guys drive safehey guys and welcome to petrop ped and welcome to Abu Dhabi I am here for
