The Zero to 100 Kilometers an Hour Time is Actually Six Point Nine

I found that the time it takes for this car to go from zero to 100 kilometers an hour is actually six point nine seconds, which I think is pretty decent. In fact, I would say that's quite impressive. However, what really caught my attention was the top speed of this vehicle, which is 221 kilometers an hour. That's a very respectable speed for any car, let alone one from this class.

Getting Back to My Angle

My story begins with why I think this car is actually very good and not sporty in the way that some people might assume it to be. I don't think it's meant to be a sporty car; I think it's a diesel car at heart, and as such, its true nature is revealed when you floor it or rev it out to full throttle at the top of the rev range. In this state, the diesel engine doesn't feel fast at all – that's just inherent to how a diesel engine works.

However, I think what people are really misunderstanding here is that diesel engines have their own unique charm and advantages. When you use a diesel car in a relaxed fashion, as it was originally designed for, it feels pretty fast. You see, the torque of a diesel engine is not something that you can replicate with a gasoline engine. It's just not possible to match the amount of torque that a well-designed diesel engine produces.

A Nice Bit on the Autobahn

I decided to put this car through its paces by taking it out onto the Autobahn, which is Germany's famous highway system. I was expecting it to be an unimpressive experience, but what I found was actually quite nice. The suspension, in particular, impressed me. I was using the dynamic damper and BCC (Bosch-Continental Control) systems, and even at lower speeds, the car felt very comfortable.

I decided to switch to individual mode, which is designed for comfort, but also allows you to adapt your settings to suit your needs. I set it to a balance point that would prioritize the suspension, steering, drivetrain, and engine sound – all of which came together to create a very smooth and enjoyable driving experience. The car felt almost as if it had air suspension, considering how comfortable it was over speed bumps or on irregular road surfaces.

It's Hard to Find a Competitor

I struggled to find any competitors for this car that could match its features, price point, and overall quality. In fact, I couldn't think of one car that came close to matching the amount of equipment you get with this vehicle. It has all the standard features, including a big panoramic roof, a 9 or 11-speaker Canton sound system, a touchscreen infotainment system, virtual cockpit display, and even adaptive seats.

What's More, This Car Has All the Tech You Need

One thing that really stood out to me was the amount of technology packed into this car. The interior is equipped with everything you need to drive safely and comfortably, including advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), lane departure warning, blind spot detection, adaptive cruise control, and a lot more.

And at the end of the day, if you want all that for your money, I think this car is definitely worth considering. Not everyone will be looking for something like this in their next vehicle purchase, but if they are, then this might just be the perfect option.

comments I've switched the GoPro settings to regular so no fisheye today on the walk-around when we get into the car I'm going to switch to wide-angle because it's just better you can see more inside the car but for the walk-around I'm going to use this mode so let me know if you prefer this one or the regular one so discover kodiak RS what is it well it's quite a large SUV actually it's a three row SUV and it has a 2 liter Biturbo diesel engine with 240 horsepower and 500 Newton meters so it is basically an x5 sized car for the price of an X 3 18 B in the Netherlands so it's about 60 grand and that's the price of an X 3 18 B here so that's basically how it's positioned it is a lot of value for money this car and I honestly kind of like it it is a big car but you get so much space for your money and there are a lot of clever things in and around this car so let's start with the spec we've got it in a beautiful color race blue and because this is an RS you get a gloss black grille with an RS badge or VRS if you live in the UK which is because Ford doesn't like Scot are calling their cars RS in the UK so that's why it's called VRS in the UK and RS here we've got a different front bumper with a sort of splitter as well looks pretty aggressive we've got standard LED lighting we've got 20 inch wheels with red brake calipers we've got gloss black accents on the mirrors on the roof bars and at the rear we've got a dull exhaust with some actual pipes hidden in there and we've got a Kodiak RS badge right there so it also sort of has a poor-man's light bar because this is just a reflecting strip but it sort of looks like it has a light bar like a Porsche whatever okay so a couple of the clever things we've got number one there's an umbrella in the door and there's one on the driver's side as well which i think is pretty awesome we saw this in the Skoda Superb as well in the limousine the saloon car but this is just this is just awesome I just really like this okay on to the rear of course because you have these huge RS seats your rear space is compromised a little bit but I'm going to sit here anyway and show you that this rear bench is actually adjustable both the seat and the back so you can have a nice little relaxing setting and it's also Alcantara like in the front with an RS badge looks really good and in the rear as I said it's three rows so seven seater you've got these two tiny seats and I have to say that you know as an adult it's it's pretty tight back here but if you have enough space in the second row you can actually sit here as an adult so you have these two latches let them go and you've got a enormous loading area and another very clever thing about this car or in this car is that underneath here you've got the cover so this has a special place here and it fits very nicely in here so if you have your third row up you hide your cover in here and if you have your third row down and you want to use it you get it out of your special storing place and use it which is pretty cool another cool thing is that this interior light oh my god okay let's do that again this interior light yes nice is actually a flashlight so you can take it out I don't know why it's not working right now but it works as you can see oh there it is so you have a little flashlight which is pretty genius I haven't seen that before so I really like that I just found another cool feature guys I'm about to bring it back but I just found this one check out this this is a ice scraper that doubles as a magnifying glass genius so this car is full of stuff like that because it's a utility vehicle SUV and the guys that's going to really understand that what up okay as I said we've got big sports seats which are really nice very comfy very supportive as well they are excellent interior I mean they have tried to make it sort of special we have this fake carbon trim on the doors and all - we've got Alcantara in the doors with a diamond stitch which is really nice the diamond station will seats as well with a little fake carbon-fiber leather as well and a sports steering wheel so you do really notice that you're sitting in something special here and and that that's not and that it's not a regular Kodiak I think they've done an excellent job on that as well I don't really like this start button though it's like they just thought oh well we'll just put a button on top of the regular keyhole and that's that it's a bit weird we've also got the virtual cockpit and if we fire it up we also have this touch screen and it has Kent and audio with like nine speakers and the subwoofer so it's a good system our res badge as well it also has a valve exhaust so believe it or not this is a diesel but you can actually get some sound from this so if we put it in neutral yes yes I know oh my god leave me alone alright we'll do it like that so I'm in normal mode right now we've got some driving modes right there normal mode revving it sounds like a diesel I would say and if we switch to sport mode so there's a little bit of a dark deep sound there and that's because as I said it has a valve in the exhaust and they are also lost some fake sound through the speakers just to make it feel a little bit more sporty okay I guess that's it let's take it for a drive so let's go and see if it is really sporty as you can see I have also switched the angle so it's now wide so you can see more inside all right let's start with debunking a myth here I don't know if you guys have seen more reviews on this Skoda Kodiak RS but a lot of reviewers said oh well it's not it's not sporty at all it just it's just a big car that feels heavy that rolls a lot and and it's not sporty and it's not fast at whatever I feel like they kind of missed the point because sure you have that sport mode let's we've got it in sport mode already sure you have that sport mode but it's just to make it feel a little bit more aggressive and a little bit more you know on top of it it's this car is not meant to attack a mountain road or whatever it's not a direct competitor to sell or take a Cupra it's just not it has a diesel engine and it has 240 horsepower and 500 Newton meters it is so torquey it is just meant to be a people carrier a nice one that looks cool that's pretty fast and that drives nicely it's not meant as a hillclimb monster or anything like that I mean you have to review a car based on what it's for what it's meant to be and not what you think it is okay I'm getting the phone mount up here so this is our GPS performance meter it's up there this is the product the app is just to control the GPS performance meter so you connect your app and you can use the device okay let's do a zero to 100 measurement I've got it in sport mode ESP in sport as well foot on the brake the full throttle let it build and release there we go the first gear is so short there we go hundred seven point one two alright let's do another one because that we can do quicker we can do better full throttle come on come on 7.17 okay so the zero to 100 kilometers an hour time is actually six point nine so that's pretty decent I would say the can tell you something about what I think is the most impressive part about this car which is the suspension I'm in sport mode right now we have dynamic damper so we have BCC dynamic chassis control and I'm in sport right now it still feels quite comfortable but it is noticeably harder than when I have it in comfort mode so let's go to driving modes and go to individual I have adapted my individual mode to be comfortable for the suspension normal for the steering sport for the drivetrain and the engine sound is own sport as well so you have that felt that's open and you have that sound coming through the speakers but this means that you have your your dampers in comfort this is actually one of the most comfortable damn sprung cars I've driven in a long time in this sort of price range it almost feels like it has air suspension that's how comfortable it is that's just really really oppressive you can read add some speed bumps at speed you know you can really sort of choke them you know it is awesome it is such a good suspension take in mind that this hardest 20 inch peels so normally you would feel that you would feel that going over speed bumps and over you know shorter irregularities but this just feels so impressive we're at 2:30 o'clock there's an hour by the way which should be the top speed on the GPS so 2:30 three four five not sure how fast it will go actually I think this is it through 35 so that's not bad either if you would take this car to a good tuner you would get 300 horsepower I think around 550 new to me there's something like that so that will really make a jump up I mean that's that's quite a big difference I think I would definitely like to have that car in this color I mean I think it looks great it is huge so it is super practical you have all those cool features like the umbrellas the flashlights you have that third row it's so big so practical I mean what's not to love basically the only thing that I would have loved more if they would have put that fifty TDI engine in here that 286 horsepower diesel six-cylinder that would have been friggin awesome I would have bought that immediately because I am very charmed by this car I think it is pretty awesome but I guess you have noticed that by now the equipment is also very good as you can see we've got a very big panoramic roof as I said we've got that 9 or 11 speaker Canton system we've got the touchscreen right here we've got the virtual cockpit right there we've got the vehicle tarah seats you've got a DSG gearbox as standard I mean it's pretty well equipped and it's not cheap I mean it's it's quite expensive for Snowdown but you do get the hold for that money so I I struggle to really struggling to find a competitor let me know if you guys have one I I
