On Grid Solar Plant for over 2.5 Years _ User Experience Review

**The Cost-Effective Solution to Electricity: A Personal Experience**

As I reflect on my decision to invest in solar panels, I can confidently say that it was one of the best decisions I ever made. The cost of electricity has increased significantly over the years, and with the rise of renewable energy sources, I realized that it's time for individuals to take matters into their own hands. In this article, I'll share my personal experience with solar panels, including the benefits, costs, and tips for those considering making the switch.

**The Benefits of Solar Panels**

The average cost of electricity in India is around 8 rupees per unit, while the average cost of solar panels is significantly higher. However, when it comes to the long-term benefits, solar panels are a game-changer. With the rising costs of coal and energy production, individuals can save money by generating their own electricity through solar power. According to my experience, I generated 6.6 megawatts of energy in 2023, which is equivalent to powering an entire community. This amount of energy would have been consumed from the grid, reducing the strain on our energy resources.

**The Experience with Solar Panels**

I decided to go with a micro-inverter system, which allowed me to monitor and control each panel's performance individually. The app I installed allows me to track my energy generation in real-time, providing valuable insights into how my solar panels are performing. With the micro-inverter system, I can identify any issues or problems with individual panels and take corrective action to optimize their performance. My experience has shown that even a 2.78 kilowatt panel is generating an average of 16.8 kilowatts per day, which is impressive considering it was cloudy in the morning.

**The Cost and Incentives**

One of the biggest concerns for individuals considering solar panels is the cost. However, with the increasing prices of energy and the rising costs of coal production, the benefits of solar power far outweigh the initial investment. The government has also introduced incentives to encourage the adoption of renewable energy sources, including a 30% discount on commercial inverters. This means that for every kilowatt installed, I can save around half of the cost. For example, if the total cost of installation is 1 lakh rupees, I would save around 50,000 rupees.

**The Importance of Renewable Energy**

As individuals, we have a responsibility to reduce our carbon footprint and contribute to a sustainable future. The use of renewable energy sources like solar power is essential in reducing our reliance on fossil fuels and mitigating climate change. According to my experience, the panels have become more efficient over time, with some models now capable of generating up to 550 watts per panel. This increase in efficiency has made solar power an even more viable option for individuals and businesses.

**Tips for Individuals Considering Solar Panels**

For those considering investing in solar panels, I would recommend the following:

* Choose a reputable supplier or installer who can guide you through the process.

* Consider your energy needs and choose a system that meets your requirements.

* Research different types of inverters and micro-inverters to determine which one is best for your needs.

* Keep track of your energy generation and optimize your panel's performance regularly.

**Conclusion**

In conclusion, my experience with solar panels has been overwhelmingly positive. The benefits of renewable energy sources like solar power are clear, and the long-term savings can be substantial. While the initial cost may seem daunting, the incentives and discounts offered by the government make it a more affordable option. As individuals, we have a responsibility to reduce our carbon footprint and contribute to a sustainable future. Solar panels offer a viable solution to this challenge, and I would highly recommend considering them for your energy needs.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhi guys this is Ranjit and this is a solar video and I'm at my friend's place instead of just those concept Theory videos uh my friend as you can see has a solar plant over here and I believe the he has this over 2 and a half years this is an onri plant so let's talk to him and get the facts what does he feel about this onri solar plant after about 2 and 1/2 years so hi guys this is pan my very good friend hi pan so again I can see here this is your plant okay that's right and so can you give a little bit more info what is this when did you put it actually so basically like uh this was back in June 2021 we installed uh uh this particular unit it's a 5 kilowatt uh uh plant plant uh and uh it's an individual uh uh uh like units for each and every like it sustains uh individual generation okay like even if one unit fails the other unit can generate the electricity it's an individual one so that way like I can disband one thing and I can continue generating so micro inverters you are having that's right microinverters okay so uh those days it it costed me around uh 3.5 laks including the it structure and installation and everything wiring and A to Z and micro inverters are actually more expensive than the regular string in correct correct so so I had an option of micro inverters and a regular one I went with micro so that even one unit some shading or something happens then your output doesn't fall down correct correct correct so overall uh the ROI I've been receiving is very good uh so is it see for a lay man let's say uh is it like offsetting your monthly electricity bill or still you have to pay ality uh for electricity so the the I didn't go with power storage there the reason I I it's an on grid plan so it's connected to the grid so uh during during the day I consume from the solar but during the night it's like uh consuming from the grid so overall offsetting yes definitely there is lot of because morning you must be exporting to the grid also exactly right so uh in a month like uh for example if I consider the month of May which like we have a peak Sun yes this particular unit generates close to 750 units oh nice okay and uh I I run close to three four uh three AC units okay despite running them and using I still export close to 250 units to G okay and again one more thing is p also has an electric car so you charge even your electric car exactly I charge my electric car on the grid during the day uh so I like three AC units electric fans and other appliances everything keeps running so overall like uh if I if I take a net of uh 6 months okay it's close to 1,800 units is what I exported okay and in that like uh more than uh uh close to 22 to 2400 units I consumed in that 6 months and net metering or net balance how what I can say is like usage of this has at least reduced my in like cons consumption from the grid okay and also my band like like the more I use I'll will be placed into a different band the charges will be high that has come down for me okay that has really come down so on an average like first 3 months I have not used it okay uh that time the electricity bill was close to 5,000 order every month every month okay and once I started using it it came to 22 2,000 or something and the usage has not changed AC's or the laptops or but now you also export okay so after this is a private Society so we get uh we have to export and we get back uh whatever money after 6 months so are you getting take back the money indirectly from the Grid or no I like this is the second time I got the CR credit back like uh for the like uh in the last like 23 uh like we get the credit every six months months so in the last 6 months uh uh I do get it a so indirectly your monthly bill you say electricity bill is almost zero if you're getting money back that's right uh almost zero because like if I look at it uh um it it comes down to be minimum charges that I have to payix fixed basic charges maintenance charges that is there with every lity board something will so if I look at it like uh uh uh 6 months uh uh it was like uh uh close to 15,000 got credited so if I look at it net net it would be a zero so huh so it is actually handling all your uh almost electric car electric car consumes a lot of units correct correct correct so uh during the rainy season or cloudy day on a cloudy day usually like on an average uh this generates up to 24 uh kilow 24 units okay 24 units so on a rainy day or on a very cloudy day it would generate close to 3 to 4 yeah it goes down drastically actually 3 to 4 I and one we can expect that because of less sunlight and all no radiation one question I have because it's almost 2 and A2 years since you have been using this many people have this question what about the maintenance what is the kind of Maintenance do you do for this my maintenance is uh just 5 minutes of my time in a month in a month in a month okay all I need to do is brush it up okay clean it up that's it okay and I do I do that uh only uh in the early hours or late in the night because like the panels usually they should be hot when you're doing when they shouldn't be like uh generating when the sunlight is there so Before Sunrise or after sun sunset like 8:00 or 9:00 in the night so I spend only uh 5 to 10 minutes cleaning up watering that's it I'm done so overall now as it's been it'll be almost 3 years now uh so are you satisfied or like are there some shortcomings that you had in your mind or something I am very much happy with the the unit okay so uh there is one misconception people have that oh so if I put solar my uh space will be consumed I can't use my Terrace technically if you plan well I have placed to to one corner and other corner I have my and you can even put raised one if you want yes you can go raise you didn't go raise I also didn't go raised one so my my other friend of mine he went with rais and he put a small gym down it under it so he actually yeah it becomes a shaded place and you can use it exactly so he is using it as an extended gym for him for his house and let's talk about the return on investment also what do you think because it's now 2 and a half years so when do you think you will recover your cost so uh if I I have taken an average of 500 units per month okay if I consume 500 units per month and uh let's say 8 Rupees is the average in India 8 rupes average so uh roughly uh my Roi would be close to five 5 years 5 five five to 6 years 5 years and you went with the micro inverters if you go with the string inverter it's slightly 3 and years and one more thing I want to say I think so because in the society I don't think so you got any subsidy not I Haven this cost is without the subsidy this is yeah without subsidy it's only that I get the uh uh money return back on grid whatever whatever we export but when you put the you didn't get any uh discount correct so if you do a commercial uh elsewhere now government is lot of incentives so you will get uh uh very good incentive from the government very uh like almost 30 % per kilowatt I heard that 25 to 30 so I think so recently they have announced that so so it it will be almost like half of the amount you spend on installing almost one lakh difference will be there one lakh difference will be there so I didn't get that credit but if you get that credit your return becomes even lesser I think so one more question I had micro inverters do you have an app also where you can see the generation and all yes I do have an app where it clearly shows me how much it per panel it is generating okay okay okay so uh I'll just show you if you're okay we um for the benefit of users like I think we have to play here because so this is how like each panel is generating okay okay got it so you exactly know so if there is a problem also in particular panel you'll come to yes so today I got 2.78 till now till now like we'll go to and it was cloudy in the morning today so this was yesterday yesterday it generated 16.8 okay since the it was cloudy yes so each like if it is generating it is like almost the same all the panels are generating equal amount of energy so actually you went with nas Nas is pretty expensive yes so actually it's a good cost I would say for Nas because Nas in India is expensive true it's it's true it's it's one of the premium ones premium ones that we went with uh and one of the facts that I canest is like over one year I personally generated 6 .6 megaw okay of energy in 2023 we can just imagine how much less of coal was burned because of this that's the 5 Mega 6 megawatt is like 6.6 megawatt is like crazy you can supply entire Community yeah mine also uh like I think so generated about 7.5 uh in a year that's that's really good number yeah that's a good number and actually now the panels have become even so have you any idea how much each panel wattage is you have an idea about it um I because it's 2 and a half 3 years old I think so this must be like around 400 something I guess correct it's around 400 something but the new ones are like what I have put is 550 now oh yeah so back in 20 like years back that was we talking about 2 and a half 3 years old now the technology and the efficiency has increased even more exactly it it definitely has improved so what do you say if anybody's thinking about going for this on solution they have roof SP should they go or they shouldn't go what do you feel see you should definitely go with it so you can be Innovative in getting your solar panels in a different way yeah so if you think that it is uh r space is getting consumed or anything you can go with the highr and kind of constru a gazu under it you do whatever you want but suggestion is future down the lane renewable sources go down and I think so people are not realizing that in India the cost of electricity will just go up and up if you compare it with some of the other countries there if the cost of electricity per unit if we feel it's Bonkers it's 25 rupes 30 rupes unit also they pay correct so definitely uh if let it be your personal gain Let It Be Your environmental conscious I suggest you should and generally I would say overall you could say Maxim 5 years you will recover the cost 5 years maximum maximum maximum 5 years so overall I would say you are happy with it and uh I just want and I'm thank thankful P cuz I wanted to get a real world experience from a person who has actually used it for a couple of years I've used it yes it's only just one year so thank you pan and uh again I hope you guys you like this and again uh thanks pan for helping us out with the sink no way thank you thank youhi guys this is Ranjit and this is a solar video and I'm at my friend's place instead of just those concept Theory videos uh my friend as you can see has a solar plant over here and I believe the he has this over 2 and a half years this is an onri
