Hey, Maui, look up, hey all right, good enough fine. I'll come to you, hi, good boy, yeah, all right guys, one last look at my pc, apparently, Maddie wants to come in. It is sleeping just fine although I do not recall the ram staying on before the power supply died while the pc is sleeping, I will have to look into that. That might be because I don't have the g-skill software set up properly and once again for some reason, the g-skill ram software isn't even running it just doesn't open it crashes then it takes me to some kind of bug report website, so I will have to look into that, not a big deal. Let me guess come on, the ram is working and it lights up, so I'm happy with that for now, man.

What a great weekend also we went down to the office real quick to um drop off the Christmas tree. We did not set it up yet, we're gonna set that up later this week, and I hijacked this this is my keyboard for my pc in the office but I figured right now it's going to get more use because of having a twitch chat on here. It's going to be so awesome then eventually I'll buy another one of these keyboards for the office because it really is that great because it's got built-in trackpad which is perfect for tv usage, the only thing that bothers me is I cannot find my webcam and I could have sworn I left it in the office maybe when I was moving stuff over like a couple months ago but I have no idea where my webcam is. And I'm not going to stream without a camera in my opinion it's not as exciting when there's no face cam because I like to see who's playing.

But the good news is, it's around here somewhere so guys take one last look at my setup for this weekend, look at his micro arm it's so pro. I love it. Oh and by the way, I did set up OBS last night, I set up my mic levels, my overlays to an extent for like you know when someone pledges donates bits and all that stuff and follows but eventually my overlay will look even better. But this right now, I'm loving it guys, look i literally just put it over there and I start talking and the audio quality sounds fantastic from the uh example clips that I've recorded already. this is going to be a very good weekend a very very good weekend indeed because i'm gonna have lots of coffee okay that's every day anyway especially this week oh my god guys i had so much coffee we're going to the christmas show tonight at american music theater which is literally like what seven or eight minutes from our house which is amazing it's just it's just so close maybe 10 minutes maybe 10 minutes it depends on how slow people in front of you drive i don't like slow drivers and it's gonna be a good weekend in general because i have a lot of tech to talk about so let me do a quick recap of my week my patrons saw this in like a two hours length but i'm gonna give it to you in like two minutes yes this week's pages only vlog was like what an hour and 58 minutes-ish pretty much two hours and that's insane two hours guys just saying that link is always right below for patreon consider it a christmas gift to me that's all i want this year from you a five dollar pledge it goes a long way all right anyway um monday started out with my breaking down the black desk that i bought from amazon yes another desk i built it late sunday night while i was previewing the weekend vlog you know just to make sure everything looked good and the desk came damaged i'm not going to go into detail because it's boring stuff but long story short i contacted customer service and they said david we are going to refund you in what three to five days or whatever but get this you can keep the desk you can do anything you want with it yeah i'm pretty sure just because it's so big and honestly i said that i'm like well what do you want me to do at the desk it's so big and and just heavy and they said keep and i was like oh my god thank you so much that is a huge uh weight off my shoulders because i don't want to deal with that even though i already broke down the desk i put it back in the packaging and taped the box up the best i could but whatever whatever that's beside the points so then after that i got some pc parked in um well tuesday tuesday was the big day i got my geforce 1080 ti-n yes 1080 ti one of the best if not the best graphics card you can get in that price range i would say i'm loving it but i'll talk about that soon i mean i am i am loving it just the lights are amazing performance so far is great i haven't played anything too demanding but that's the thing i haven't played really anything at all except for maybe two or three basic games well including the forza 7 demo which is good but honestly it looked better on my xbox one x because i have a 4k tv and i don't have a 4k monitor in my bedroom yet but that's going to happen eventually but in general i've been loving my pc but i'll talk about that in a minute so then actually backing up a bit monday night i unboxed fake astros you guys saw that video right that is the first time i've ever been scammed on amazon now thankfully amazon's customer service was amazing and they shipped out a brand new pair of astro a40s right here along with the mix amp pro using next day shipping now grant said i didn't get it until two days later because i contacted them like 10 pm eastern so technically counted as the next business day which was wednesday but still amazon i love you guys your customer service is incredible and they handled it beautifully now unfortunately they haven't taken the fake headset yet but they'll do that soon and then between tuesday and wednesday i set up my pc the graphics card's installed the capture cards installed everything's installed including the new cpu cooler and everything was working great was working great thursday night no wait wednesday night i had an excellent night with the crew on ps4 you know a lot of laughs a lot of good conversations and uh overwatch okay so this is what happened i played my play cool good times awesome times i walk over here i peek in and i just look at my pc to check on it because sometimes i just like to look at it because i'm not going to lie i'm proud of it i guess i built it myself so that's just a lot to say for me it's my first ever truly custom built pc um and i got a gpu supporter because the 1080 ti is a heavy graphics card like it pretty much spans the entire width of my case so i bought a gpu a little support thing thanks to my friends and danny and otter i appreciate your advice so i bought one and it lights up it's gonna be our monday it's gonna look sweet i go to brush my teeth blah blah blah scrub-a-dub-dub in my tub i wasn't in the tub i go back here because i want to play a free game called smite for a little bit before bed and i look at my pc and it's completely off so i was thinking okay that's weird because even when the pc is off but the power supply is on there are certain lights on my motherboard that stay on no matter what and i believe i can change that in the bios but regardless i should have seen lights so i started panicking i turn off and on the power supply i start tinkering with things this thing is dead yes my brand new gaming pc which cost me a ton of money and time and many many hours is a brick right now it's just completely dead now i think it's the power supply and thankfully i have a brand new power supply arriving today from amazon today i'm not wasting any time i'm going to plug it in and if it works then thank you but not only that and this next act may seem a bit extreme but i'm not taking any chances last night i ordered a brand new motherboard from msi not asus i'm going to give msi a try so if it's the motherboard that's dead then so be it i'll rip it out i'll reinstall everything and put the new motherboard in which apparently is and then i'll go from there so it's most likely either the power supply or the motherboard it's just weird that the motherboard is getting no power whatsoever and of course i checked all the cables i checked like everything was screwed on tight or snug not too too tight and i don't think there's any shorts going on the board so yeah it sucks it was a giant stab in my heart i spent all that time just building and perfecting this thing to my liking and then out of nowhere it randomly dies i mean it barely lasted more than 24 hours so that's why i think it's the power supply everything was working fine and then it just died now granted i was late with the cpu cooler i had to change the power button and all that stuff but i wouldn't have done anything to actually damage the uh board myself well because with any pc or mac or whatever you're using if the cpu gets too hot it's going to automatically shut down no matter what so long story short i just gotta wait for the power supply to arrive today and if the power supply works then boom i'm back in business and if the power supply does not work then that sucks the motherboard replacement is arriving tomorrow and i'll try to get that fixed okay so you're probably saying david but it's probably not the motherboard what are the chances of that well i have something i haven't really talked about too much yet shout out to my friend julian and i promise i'll get into the vlog soon shout out to my friend julian he asked me if the motherboard was brand new i said i think so um and then he asked me if it came in the anti-static wrap i just want to get my coffee going here at least okay so anyway my motherboard did not come in an anti-sonic wrap which you might recall my mentioning in my installation video and i just found that very odd i mean i even said that in my video i'm like that's weird it wasn't wrapped but then under it i found a piece of plastic and you might also recall i could not find the sata data cables anywhere anywhere in that box so i looked at the motherboard information on asus's official websites and yes it said that my motherboard should have included four sata data cables four i didn't get one so i think at some point someone for whatever reason opened the motherboard returned it didn't wrap it in the anti-static wrap and did not include the sata cables see i knew i wasn't going crazy i had every other cable i needed you know at least for the motherboard but the sata cables hence why i ordered some on amazon and now granted it's fine it's hooked up but do you think somebody ended up returning the motherboard because they also had issues and now i'm having the same issue it makes you think is it is it a crazy coincidence or is it just bad luck i don't know i guess i guess there's no real way of knowing and yes i know there's the paperclip method in the power supply to see if it spins up i have not tried that yet because i ordered a power supply for today so i'm not even going to bother but there you go guys there you go very long intro i apologize to my non-geeky friends sometimes i like their nerd out that's what i like to do yeah just i put all that time and all that work and passion in my pc and it just sucks it absolutely sucks to see it just die randomly like that hi maui now i was like david what the hell are you saying so guys i guess you can expect more pc footage this weekend okay so i'm not gonna be as in depth this weekend as i was last weekend because yeah i know i went on for a while and most of you probably want to see more of the family in the vlogs and i don't blame you i don't blame you i try to balance things that's the best way to put i try i try to balance my tech with my family life and all that stuff i put in the vlog but for my non-geeks out there i just ask that you understand how big of a deal this is this isn't just some pc you buy at best buy or amazon or whatever i picked each part for a reason and when it just gives up on you like i said stabbing your heart it really is but there are worse problems in the world so i will wait till my power supply arrives and if that doesn't work then i'll wait till my motherboard arrives and i'll try that and if that doesn't work which it should i don't see why not then i have other issues to worry about oh and also i did order more thermal paste which i forgot about but because the thermal paste was pre-applied to my cpu cooler i will be likely taking it off my cpu since i had to take the board off which means i had to reapply my own thermal paste this time which is fine it's not a big deal okay can i enjoy my coffee now sorry it's just been a crazy week also i got my iphone 10 i don't know if i even mentioned that yes i got my iphone 10. i am absolutely loving it look face id just works the screen is beautiful the notch doesn't bother me whatsoever honestly i think it actually looks kind of nice i know i know that's a very fanboy comment to say but i mean that it's unique it's different from all the all the other phones i've used recently especially this the google pixel 2 xl it's a nice phone but i got gotta be honest it's very boring it's it is it is the most boring android phone i've used in a long time and that's why i've barely used it and i hate santa because i have to use it more because i'm making a video about it soon i have to take pictures and record videos and see how performs but overall it's a solid phone just i don't know it's a very boring phone and i hate saying that because i guess that's what you get with pure android you don't get anything fancy but at the same time i kind of like the fancy features of the note 8 you get the little s pen and the um lg v20 and v10 i never use the v30 but you get that extra screen up top so yeah the pixel 2 xl has nothing unique to offer but if you're looking for that pure android experience then yeah perhaps you'll love it man it has been a crazy week guys it has been an absolutely crazy week and i've barely touched my xbox one x and of course it's not that i don't love it because i do this is a fantastic console especially for the price yeah i mean with my pc i just been so focused on it so once my pc is up and running again then i can get back into my normal routine and trying to balance out on my consoles and pc and whatever okay now can i have coffee dear lord all right got my coffee heating up got a little bit of breakfast in the toaster which maui's about to go along with it maui please don't stand near the toaster it gets very hot good boy good boy now i need to publish the pigeons only a blockage vlog and i think i have three more videos to edit still yeah i mean i'm just trying to get all the pc stuff out before thanksgiving and then from that point forward holidays holidays holiday so expect a ton of holiday content so i had to edit my 1080 ti unboxing and installation video i have to edit my accessories video and i have to edit my capture card unboxing and installation video yes capture card oh which by the way i don't think i mentioned it in this vlog yet and guys look this setup is looking very pro now of course it's gonna look a lot better once it's up and running but check this out on the far right is my minecraft xbox one s going into my capture card which is very cool which means that i can finally once again stream my xbox one natively like it doesn't hide the friends list it doesn't hide the little achievement pop-up notifications all that stuff you can see everything that i see and i'm excited and honestly i need to start streaming on xbox a lot more often because i still have a lot of four to seven to play right here great game and quantum break which apparently is amazing i haven't even played it yet but i did install the 4k update on xbox one x so because my game save is in the cloud it's gonna be nice jumping back and forth between xbox one s my pc and xbox one x here on my 4k tv guys i'm telling you once you get 4k you're gonna love it and you have been watching a lot of bowie meets world lately i love it love it love it where's the remark i just wanted to say my tv is not that faded there you go just kind of sleeping the banger the power supply has arrived now i'm not going to connect it right now because i have to run down to the office real quick to take care of something but when i get back i'm going to edit some videos and then connect this because this isn't the kind of thing where you just want to rush through it you want to take your time make sure everything's working properly um so i just want to make sure my work is done and plus it's friday so it's technically a work day but there you go corsair 850 watt just like my other one yeah there's no rgb nothing fancy but apparently this is an excellent power supply ultra low noise which obviously i like so very cool not the most exciting unboxing but in theory this could put me back in the business because i miss my pc so much i do i do my little babies over there just dying actually she's not hoping to get one in for uh review so perhaps perhaps i'll have that set up well i actually have to say yes but hopefully i get one because it would be nice to change the temperature from anywhere i want for instance last night i went to sleep in the main house over there and i forgot to turn down my temperature in here and well as you know this is an old house it uses oil so i change the temperature from there for here i love it i love it okay as much as i want to do the pc now i'll do it in a bit must edit guys must edit i have a lot of video content to get there still and plus it's only three o'clock got plenty of time late lunch today chicken nuggets um or as i like to call them chuggits okay i don't really call them chuggits but sometimes i do but not really but sometimes just finished editing okay that's not proof that's just a frog isn't that a great wallpaper you know i took it on my iphone 10 right actually no i didn't but i will tell you portrait lighting mode is insane like it is so so cool let me show you a picture of myself i took using portrait lighting mode look at that does that not look pro that seriously looks like i was in a studio that is awesome that is seriously freaking awesome so so cool and if you're curious about my pc setup when i was actually alive and running there you go and i think i have one yeah there's there's a video all right one more video before bed i am loving what's really cool about the lights on my pc is i have them set up so when everything's running cool like you know my gpu my cpu and my ram everything is green but as they get warmer you know as i'm doing gaming photoshop video or whatever the colors change from green to yellow to orange and eventually to red so if i see red that means i'm doing some serious sorry for the language but yeah i don't i don't think i'll ever see it red unless i'm gaming in like maybe 4k which isn't gonna happen for a while because i don't have a 4k monitor however i can also set up the leds in my pc to react to music and of course i would like to show you all this but my pc is not up and running however i'm gonna do that right now let me plug the iphone in make sure i have a full battery for tonight cool videos are done guys in theory i don't have to do any video work next week except for you know thanksgiving and black friday um and the weekend vlog yes there will be a weekend vlog even though thanksgiving is next week you guys know me i'm not i'm not a big fan of taking breaks so expect a lot of holiday content starting on thursday now of course thanksgiving 2017 the series isn't going to be out until now see that's tough what monday then the weekend vlog will be on tuesday i'm not sure yet but i do know this patrons just like previous years will get early access so thanksgiving 2017 in theory should be live for patrons by friday yes i'm talking within 24 hours it is my priority to get these videos out as quick as possible uh for patrons and the same goes for black friday that's why my patreon campaign typically sees a huge spike during the holidays which i love seriously like a huge spike so just saying if you want early access to all my holiday videos five hours a month that's all it is and if not that's fine too no pressure okay wait i think i need this is it just me or is this box bigger than the thermaltake power supply box yeah j channel raceway i love these things but the funny thing is i don't technically need it anymore because that whole desk thing backfired but eventually at some point i'll get a quality l-shaped desk and put it here because my um whole vision with this is i want my gaming pc right here so that way i can have the twitch chat above my main monitor guys how cool is that going to be seriously i'm gaming and i look up and the chat is right there so that little windows 10 pc and the outlet right around there it's finally going to get some serious usage aside from my youtube subscriber counter then over here on the right would be like my apple station where eventually when apple updates the mac mini i'll buy myself a mac mini and yeah i know i know i have a mac pro but macbro is for the office but okay here we go guys moment of truth let's unbox my brand new power supply and just saying if this power supply does end up working i'm gonna hold on to my new motherboard that's coming tomorrow for maybe a week or two or maybe i'll just keep it forever because it's not a bad idea to have a spare motherboard i mean it wasn't wasn't that expensive so i mean why not why not happens as they say so it would definitely be nice to have a spare motherboard on the side and who knows this motherboard could be bad well there's no way to know until i actually get this thing hooked up so let's do it let me move my astros my room is currently a mess but guys i swear this whole thing was so organized a couple days ago it looked really nice but then again i'm biased it's my setup so i'm going to call it nice looking all right here's the old power supply that's the back plate that goes on the case and yes i will be testing it right away i'm not going to connect everything i'm just going to connect the main power and the cpu power to see if this thing actually lights up because keep in mind i believe these lights should still come on despite the pc not being on but the power supply being on this should act the same as this but hopefully this will last longer than 24 hours okay here we go opening up the corsair rm 850 x what's the easiest way take that plastic off what this includes a floppy drive adapter is that a joke floppy drive adapter floppy drive adapter um unless you can use that on newer accessories and they just call it a floppy drive adapter okay if i say floppy drive adapter one more time i'm gonna go crazy my dad is going crazy all right easy you guys are sitting on top of the pc all right here we go doesn't get more exciting than a power supply unboxing right well guys you know what without a power supply you've got nothing nice packaging okay here we go power cable don't eat this seriously you'll die cable wraps or cable ties whatever you want to call them so this goes up to 1 000 watts not not this one but this um family if you will this this this family of power supplies again minus 850 x i think on average you typically want to go with at least 750 you'd probably be okay with 650 but i went with 850 that gives me plenty of uh room to move and just like thermaltake you get a nice big bag of cables very nice and interestingly enough thermaltakes pci express cables are red these are black which is good and bad good because black's gonna blend in better with my case but bad because i kind of like red more than black because it's an accent but it doesn't really matter guys and there you go silent operation at low to moderate loads in this mode the fan will not spin yes just like the thermal take you might notice a trend there's only so much you can do with power supplies now this one i will say you can see the fan a lot easier now i'm going to plug this in to see if there's at least a power led of some kind because the thermal tank i could not find one all right let's unwrap the power cable here and by the way just a tip for you guys i do highly recommend saving all these little twisty ties because i've been i've been using them here and there especially for my microphone arm i have my usb cable going from the yeti down the microphone arm and i have it tied together which actually looks really good and then i have it kind of tied to my desk going across finally into my pc i say finally begins it's a very long cable we got plenty of connections by the way it is it is modular that basically means you don't have a bunch of cables just floating at the end which is kind of annoying but in this case it's not annoying so modular for the wind so here we go plugging it in turning it on in three two one why don't power supplies give you any power in this cushion river that's okay in theory it's gonna work now in my opinion there should always be some kind of power indicator on a power supply but that's just me all right i'm going to get the motherboard and the cpu connected and then we'll take it from there okay guys power supply is connected to power motherboard and cpu are both plugged in now this next action determines whether i need to install the new motherboard tomorrow and if i do not a big deal just a little weekend project for me because i have everything else set up i just got to take off the cpu cooler and obviously reconnect everything else but that's not hard that's not hard it'll take me about an hour all right when i flip this switch in theory we should get lights on the motherboard here we go three two one okay might be the motherboard guys it might be the motherboard hmm i'm still going to experiment i'm going to take out components one by one and see if anything comes out of it because who knows it could be the graphics card well and i also tried to take out the ram that obviously wasn't the issue but i'll take it out again guys i think i got it okay so for some reason the power supply didn't work the first time but that was using the old power supplies cables on the new power supply so i put the new power supply with new power supply cables and i got light so i was like wait a minute okay so i unplugged it and i plugged the new cables into the old power supply and this let out a quick like so i test it again which makes me think it was the power supply can you say affordable fix can you say freaking miracle now i gotta be honest i was kind of secretly looking forward to putting a new motherboard in there to see what it was like but i think i'm going to stand by what i said before i'm going to keep the new motherboard that's coming tomorrow just in case because well you never know it could easily happen again it could happen again it could be the motherboard doing something to the power supply which i doubt but you never know it's good to have spare parts so yes the motherboard will be staying here the new one um it's gonna cost me a couple hundred dollars but i think it's worth it because if that happens again at least i'll have that part immediately with an access all right here we go check it out okay so i'm using the new cables we got atx power going there cpu power and turn this on give it a second there you go oh my god i missed you so much you did i have no idea how much this makes me happy guys i put so much money and so much time into this and so much patience and it looks like it's going to be good now i'm going to the christmas show soon i'm going to unplug this just to be safe you never know i'm going to come back tonight i'm going to get this together and show you guys my real setup i might stream on twitch here tonight and not ps4 we'll say we'll see but i'm definitely going to have this setup the visual weight too going down very nice so quick non christmas related notes some people online well there's one person online on a facebook post that you should not mix branded cables at on a power supply so then i looked it up and it's true so yeah mistake but i highly doubt it did anything to my components uh but the thermal take is packaged i'm gonna get that out next week but in the process of going through my cables and doing a little bit of cable management here and there i came across the corsair led cable that i've been looking for the court for the corsair lighting controller the lighting node pro i think it's called so now in theory as of tonight my corsair fans can light up and it's gonna look so so good but anyway enough pc stuff how are you good how are you same problem with that motherboard amazon had to replace it twice and i said what you completely lost power he said yep the motherboard fried after a few days see mine was a day or two okay the motherboard's alive right now but still it makes you think um then he says i took it apart and reinstalled twice the troubleshoot i finally installed my old motherboard to see if it was a hookup or another hardware issue it proved that it was the motherboard i called amazon they sent my replacement reinstalled worked great for a week then it happened again finally i changed motherboards everything works fine just had bad luck with the maximus and guys that's exactly what i have the maximus x hero it's a great motherboard but i'm gonna say this i don't trust it i don't really trust it all that much okay so yes the power supply problem might be completely separate but still there's something about it i have a bad feeling especially considering it wasn't wrapped in anti-static and i'm the kind of consumer who just who just likes things brand new so i'm not gonna lie that worries me but my msi motherboard arrives tomorrow and yeah i have a good feeling i'll be installing that in the near future we'll see that we'll see i'm just so glad to be back into the pc scene it's just nice getting your hands on tools and parts again right now yeah yeah uncookie david grow up i'm just so in mind i'm not guaranteed to be using it right now but if my pc runs into other issues then at least i have a backup motherboard to use because well let's face it one of the worst things that can fail on your pc is the motherboard because it's just such an involved process in terms of replacing it try to think of the best word there okay so i'm not gonna actually open the motherboard i'm just gonna show you guys the box but i'm excited to have an msi motherboard on the side thermal paste yeah that's cool props to amazon check it out they actually taped the thermal paste to the motherboard dude all right so if you guys are curious hold on it's loud this is actually my first time buying thermal paste i think i may have had it years ago or maybe it came with my cpu i don't know it was a long time ago there you go msi uh z370 gaming pro carbon ac this has built-in wi-fi which is definitely nice this does have more lights than my current motherboard does siri she's in the background searching now lights shouldn't sell you in a motherboard what comes down to a motherboard is performance io all that stuff but lights to me are an excellent extra you know what there's no tape on here so let me just open up the motherboard right now and make sure it's wrapped in anti-static wrap let's see that is how a motherboard should be packaged it is indeed wrapped in anti-static wrap very nice now in theory my current motherboard is fine it's fine but it still concerns me that it wasn't wrapped like this which tells me somebody returned it like as new maybe they took the plastic off and realized it didn't have something they needed so they put it back in the box and forgot to put the put the wrap around it but i'm telling you i have a bad feeling about my motherboard i do so this will be nice to have just in case you like that maui so there you go my first time ever buying a spare motherboard why not i mean i might as well have parts on the side right also i believe this is my like look at that cable management is that not clean now i will say the cables that my new power supply uses it's they're kind of thicker so they're a little harder to manage like look at this look at this they're kind of wrapped right there which i guess isn't necessarily a bad thing but considering everything i did that looks damn clean that looks really really clean also you guys recommended my nzxt cpu cooler video that i should flip the orientation of my fans and that's just what i did so there you go it should be correct now i think this is right to begin with air is pushing out well technically pulling out and i think this is pushing so push pull all airflow goes the same way now and of course my power supply fan is upside down like it was last time that way air is pushing downward through the air filter i think i'm ready but first of all check this out this is the other side of my case look how crazy it is it is super tight down here really really tight i hope that's not going to cause any issues i don't think it will there's not much i can do about that guys i mean i have so many accessories oh speaking of accessories i had to move my capture card up here because my brand new usb 3.0 expansion card would not fit part of the circuit board was rubbing with this plastic piece on my motherboard but the capture card thankfully is thinner so it fit in there perfectly so capture card is up here now and usb card is down here so pretty cool and now for the part where i put everything back together put my desk back like in just just in full order because it's crazy right now look at this it's driving me crazy and then i hit that power button wish me luck guys wish me luck i'm nervous did a lot of tinkering but everything should be connected including my corsair fan so in theory i'm going to get more light than ever and then monday i have some led strips coming from my case which patrons will get to see the first boot of that so i am excited all right i think i'm good everything should be connected resume podcast and i should be going to rudder soon because i am very hungry that would have made it into the wild ignore my dirty screening here we go guys moment of truth now keep in mind when i turn the power strip on i should get lights on the case once it's in the power supply one but that doesn't necessarily mean the pc is on i'll just button correctly and if not that's easy to fix either way there is a backup method to turn it on using the motherboard and speaking of the motherboard i may have reset the bios this week while i was just troubleshooting so if i just set that up again not a big deal three two one oh my god wait what the hell that was weird dude the fans are on okay that made me nervous it turned on then off again then on maybe it's because it initialized itself i'm not sure but that fan looks sweet okay we're not getting light on the top fan not a big deal i will figure that out but let's see if this boots uh please enter setup to recover bios settings after setting up intel optane memory blah blah blah sata mode selection must be changed all right so we should be good to go i'm not getting any errors for cpu cooler like i did the first time i tried to boot this isn't that beautiful it looks so good that fan looks amazing that looks incredible although the leds on the top right aren't lighting up on the fan huh i'll have to look into that and that fan is definitely not lighting up i'll try to figure that out what you doing f1 all right cool i'm in the bias i'm going to set things up and i will hope for the best i gotta get that fully working i thought that fan was connected to the controller it's on i mean it's it's power to the motherboard the top fan that's okay that's not a serious fix that's an easy fix i'm just glad the pc is running again oh i missed you i love me some pentatonix man i cannot wait to listen to that more okay guys we're good to go i looked into the fans the top one is connected just like the rear fan is so i don't understand why it's not putting off leds maybe it's defective because i'm telling you this one should have more lights here let me bump down the exposure so you can actually see what i see you see the top right corner it's kind of dark right i mean i think that should have led so i don't know i'm not going to worry about it too much because it's just for looks the fans are working they're both pushing out air which is obviously good now let me turn my light on i do have an extra fan and see if it works but i'm not gonna do that now i'm led strip to rgb ll fan which is what this is click apply you get the full effect and get this add a second fan apply boom so it was just off by default that's all oh my god that looks so so cool oh my god i'm so happy now of course my graphics card is a big-ass graphics card so it's blocking a lot of light so again once i get the led strip on monday i'm gonna put one down here so it's hidden from view but you'll see the light emitting upward which is gonna look sweet because let's face it it's a little dark down here very cool i was gonna try to show you guys my ram changing color with the music but for some reason the software wasn't working so i uninstalled it went to reinstall it and the g skill website is down unless they change the url there you go okay hold on try it in z and download i did this last week and it worked perfectly i don't know it's because i did something to the motherboard i reset the settings i'm not sure but hold on i will get this working because the music also reacts with my cpu cooler and gpu so basically my entire case can be like a light show in response to music i don't know about the corsair fans though that i can look into in a bit i am so graphics card and the cpu cooler which i will set up shortly for some reason the g-skill of tridenzi software is not working i'm not sure why i'm going to look into that but check it out there are so many different effects for the fans it gets a bit crazy look at that it's so cool and look at this ark is amazing look at that that's so badass it's a freaking light show you can do rainbow rainbow waves static if you just want a single color you can make it anything you want for instance if you want red you can make one red for the holidays and the other one green not bad and this is cool hold on what is it you can make it really fast too check out that speed or you can slow it down let's drop that a nice slow spin very very cool you can do so much with this stuff all right so there is a pong effect which is a channel effect i think it works with the other one but i think it only works well if the fans are next to each other so i'm not gonna be using that one but sequential could be cool so let me choose fan number two actually they might be working in conjunction hold on sequential are they working with each other oh look at that oh yes look at that it goes from color to color want to mention the astro a40 uh mix amp pro right there i hate shutters that right there is powered by the brand new usb expansion card in the back which is really nice because well one it gives me more ports and two i don't have to use these ports now i will be using these ports on occasion for you know like flash drives or whatever boom plug and play but in general i want this front to look just simple clean and organized and the expansion card worked perfectly i didn't have to install any drivers or anything like that which is really cool you know what guys i'm thinking about getting a dedicated vlogging camera and ditching the canon 80d maui no get because this camera i love it is the best camera i've ever purchased but it's just look at this look the shadows are cast from the uh microphone that annoys me immensely and i hate shadows on faces at least obstructive shadows i don't mind contouring whatever for photography so eventually at some point i'm talking like after christmas because i've spent enough money on myself the rest of my spending the majority of it anyway is going to go towards family and friends for the holidays but sometime early 2018 i want to get a good vlogging camera and just leave this in the office at all times and use it for unboxings reviews and whatever else so it'll be nice to have um you know cameras per location really wish i could find my webcam but in the meantime i'm going to try to get obs set up and put a quick overlay together on my macbook pro and then obviously just transfer the files to the pc i love you i do well it's running perfectly okay so i came in here a little while ago and i found out it never went to sleep i think that's because i was running the epic games installer because it was downloading unreal tournament overnight which i'm loving granted i've only done the training but it's kind of like a throwback to my childhood but at the same time it's kind of a good thing it didn't sleep because it proved that it kept running just fine like it wasn't just sleeping it was actually running which tells me the power supply could be okay could be okay now i know i know completely different power supply different brand different configuration perhaps i don't know how power supplies work i'm assuming this one could be higher quality i don't know or maybe it's just bad luck who knows who knows i'm just so glad it's working and it's running beautifully and my graphics card was actually yellow a little while ago it's green now because i'm just sitting in the menu but that means i was pushing we did not set it up yet we're gonna set that up later this week and i hijacked this this is my keyboard for my pc in the office but i figured right now it's going to get more use because of having a twitch chat on here it's going to be so awesome then eventually i'll buy another one of these keyboards for the office because it really is that great because it's got built-in trackpad which is perfect for tv usage the only thing that bothers me is i cannot find my webcam and i could have sworn i left it in the office maybe when i was moving stuff over like a couple months ago but i have no idea where my webcam is and i'm not going to stream without a camera in my opinion it's not as exciting when there's no face cam because i like to see who's playing but the good news is it's around good weekend a very very good weekend indeed because i'm gonna have lots of coffee okay that's every day anyway especially this week oh my god guys i had so much coffee we're going to the christmas show tonight at american music theater which is literally like what seven or eight minutes from our house which is amazing it's just it's just so close maybe 10 minutes maybe 10 minutes it depends on how slow people in front of you drive i don't like slow drivers and it's gonna be a good weekend in general because i have a lot of tech to talk about so let me do a quick recap of my week my patrons saw this in like a two hours length but i'm gonna give it to you in like two minutes yes this week's pages only vlog was like what an hour and 58 minutes-ish pretty much two hours and that's insane two hours guys just saying that link is always right below for patreon consider it a christmas gift to me that's all i want this year from you a five dollar pledge it goes a long way all right anyway um monday started out with my breaking down the black desk that i bought from amazon yes another desk i built it late sunday night while i was previewing the weekend vlog you know just to make sure everything looked good and the desk came damaged i'm not going to go into detail because it's boring stuff but long story short i contacted customer service and they said david we are going to refund you in what three to five days or whatever but get this you can keep the desk you can do anything you want with it yeah i'm pretty sure just because it's so big and honestly i said that i'm like well what do you want me to do at the desk it's so big and and just heavy and they said keep and i was like oh my god thank you so much that is a huge uh weight off my shoulders because i don't want to deal with that even though i already broke down the desk i put it back in the packaging and taped the box up the best i could but whatever whatever that's beside the points so then after that i got some pc parked in um well tuesday tuesday was the big day i got my geforce 1080 ti-n yes 1080 ti one of the best if not the best graphics card you can get in that price range i would say i'm loving it but i'll talk about that soon i mean i am i am loving it just the lights are amazing performance so far is great i haven't played anything too demanding but that's the thing i haven't played really anything at all except for maybe two or three basic games well including the forza 7 demo which is good but honestly it looked better on my xbox one x because i have a 4k tv and i don't have a 4k monitor in my bedroom yet but that's going to happen eventually but in general i've been loving my pc but i'll talk about that in a minute so then actually backing up a bit monday night i unboxed fake astros you guys saw that video right that is the first time i've ever been scammed on amazon now thankfully amazon's customer service was amazing and they shipped out a brand new pair of astro a40s right here along with the mix amp pro using next day shipping now grant said i didn't get it until two days later because i contacted them like 10 pm eastern so technically counted as the next business day which was wednesday but still amazon i love you guys your customer service is incredible and they handled it beautifully now unfortunately they haven't taken the fake headset yet but they'll do that soon and then between tuesday and wednesday i set up my pc the graphics card's installed the capture cards installed everything's installed including the new cpu cooler and everything was working great was working great thursday night no wait wednesday night i had an excellent night with the crew on ps4 you know a lot of laughs a lot of good conversations and uh overwatch okay so this is what happened i played my play cool good times awesome times i walk over here i peek in and i just look at my pc to check on it because sometimes i just like to look at it because i'm not going to lie i'm proud of it i guess i built it myself so that's just a lot to say for me it's my first ever truly custom built pc um and i got a gpu supporter because the 1080 ti is a heavy graphics card like it pretty much spans the entire width of my case so i bought a gpu a little support thing thanks to my friends and danny and otter i appreciate your advice so i bought one and it lights up it's gonna be our monday it's gonna look sweet i go to brush my teeth blah blah blah scrub-a-dub-dub in my tub i wasn't in the tub i go back here because i want to play a free game called smite for a little bit before bed and i look at my pc and it's completely off so i was thinking okay that's weird because even when the pc is off but the power supply is on there are certain lights on my motherboard that stay on no matter what and i believe i can change that in the bios but regardless i should have seen lights so i started panicking i turn off and on the power supply i start tinkering with things this thing is dead yes my brand new gaming pc which cost me a ton of money and time and many many hours is a brick right now it's just completely dead now i think it's the power supply and thankfully i have a brand new power supply arriving today from amazon today i'm not wasting any time i'm going to plug it in and if it works then thank you but not only that and this next act may seem a bit extreme but i'm not taking any chances last night i ordered a brand new motherboard from msi not asus i'm going to give msi a try so if it's the motherboard that's dead then so be it i'll rip it out i'll reinstall everything and put the new motherboard in which apparently is and then i'll go from there so it's most likely either the power supply or the motherboard it's just weird that the motherboard is getting no power whatsoever and of course i checked all the cables i checked like everything was screwed on tight or snug not too too tight and i don't think there's any shorts going on the board so yeah it sucks it was a giant stab in my heart i spent all that time just building and perfecting this thing to my liking and then out of nowhere it randomly dies i mean it barely lasted more than 24 hours so that's why i think it's the power supply everything was working fine and then it just died now granted i was late with the cpu cooler i had to change the power button and all that stuff but i wouldn't have done anything to actually damage the uh board myself well because with any pc or mac or whatever you're using if the cpu gets too hot it's going to automatically shut down no matter what so long story short i just gotta wait for the power supply to arrive today and if the power supply works then boom i'm back in business and if the power supply does not work then that sucks the motherboard replacement is arriving tomorrow and i'll try to get that fixed okay so you're probably saying david but it's probably not the motherboard what are the chances of that well i have something i haven't really talked about too much yet shout out to my friend julian and i promise i'll get into the vlog soon shout out to my friend julian he asked me if the motherboard was brand new i said i think so um and then he asked me if it came in the anti-static wrap i just want to get my coffee going here at least okay so anyway my motherboard did not come in an anti-sonic wrap which you might recall my mentioning in my installation video and i just found that very odd i mean i even said that in my video i'm like that's weird it wasn't wrapped but then under it i found a piece of plastic and you might also recall i could not find the sata data cables anywhere anywhere in that box so i looked at the motherboard information on asus's official websites and yes it said that my motherboard should have included four sata data cables four i didn't get one so i think at some point someone for whatever reason opened the motherboard returned it didn't wrap it in the anti-static wrap and did not include the sata cables see i knew i wasn't going crazy i had every other cable i needed you know at least for the motherboard but the sata cables hence why i ordered some on amazon and now granted it's fine it's hooked up but do you think somebody ended up returning the motherboard because they also had issues and now i'm having the same issue it makes you think is it is it a crazy coincidence or is it just bad luck i don't know i guess i guess there's no real way of knowing and yes i know there's the paperclip method in the power supply to see if it spins up i have not tried that yet because i ordered a power supply for today so i'm not even going to bother but there you go guys there you go very long intro i apologize to my non-geeky friends sometimes i like their nerd out that's what i like to do yeah just i put all that time and all that work and passion in my pc and it just sucks it absolutely sucks to see it just die randomly like that hi maui now i was like david what the hell are you saying so guys i guess you can expect more pc footage this weekend okay so i'm not gonna be as in depth this weekend as i was last weekend because yeah i know i went on for a while and most of you probably want to see more of the family in the vlogs and i don't blame you i don't blame you i try to balance things that's the best way to put i try i try to balance my tech with my family life and all that stuff i put in the vlog but for my non-geeks out there i just ask that you understand how big of a deal this is this isn't just some pc you buy at best buy or amazon or whatever i picked each part for a reason and when it just gives up on you like i said stabbing your heart it really is but there are worse problems in the world so i will wait till my power supply arrives and if that doesn't work then i'll wait till my motherboard arrives and i'll try that and if that doesn't work which it should i don't see why not then i have other issues to worry about oh and also i did order more thermal paste which i forgot about but because the thermal paste was pre-applied to my cpu cooler i will be likely taking it off my cpu since i had to take the board off which means i had to reapply my own thermal paste this time which is fine it's not a big deal okay can i enjoy my coffee now sorry it's just been a crazy week also i got my iphone 10 i don't know if i even mentioned that yes i got my iphone 10. i am absolutely loving it look face id just works the screen is beautiful the notch doesn't bother me whatsoever honestly i think it actually looks kind of nice i know i know that's a very fanboy comment to say but i mean that it's unique it's different from all the all the other phones i've used recently especially this the google pixel 2 xl it's a nice phone but i got gotta be honest it's very boring it's it is it is the most boring android phone i've used in a long time and that's why i've barely used it and i hate santa because i have to use it more because i'm making a video about it soon i have to take pictures and record videos and see how performs but overall it's a solid phone just i don't know it's a very boring phone and i hate saying that because i guess that's what you get with pure android you don't get anything fancy but at the same time i kind of like the fancy features of the note 8 you get the little s pen and the um lg v20 and v10 i never use the v30 but you get that extra screen up top so yeah the pixel 2 xl has nothing unique to offer but if you're looking for that pure android experience then yeah perhaps you'll love it man it has been a crazy week guys it has been an absolutely crazy week and i've barely touched my xbox one x and of course it's not that i don't love it because i do this is a fantastic console especially for the price yeah i mean with my pc i just been so focused on it so once my pc is up and running again then i can get back into my normal routine and trying to balance out on my consoles and pc and whatever okay now can i have coffee dear lord all right got my coffee heating up got a little bit of breakfast in the toaster which maui's about to go along with it maui please don't stand near the toaster it gets very hot good boy good boy now i need to publish the pigeons only a blockage vlog and i think i have three more videos to edit still yeah i mean i'm just trying to get all the pc stuff out before thanksgiving and then from that point forward holidays holidays holiday so expect a ton of holiday content so i had to edit my 1080 ti unboxing and installation video i have to edit my accessories video and i have to edit my capture card unboxing and installation video yes capture card oh which by the way i don't think i mentioned it in this vlog yet and guys look this setup is looking very pro now of course it's gonna look a lot better once it's up and running but check this out on the far right is my minecraft xbox one s going into my capture card which is very cool which means that i can finally once again stream my xbox one natively like it doesn't hide the friends list it doesn't hide the little achievement pop-up notifications all that stuff you can see everything that i see and i'm excited and honestly i need to start streaming on xbox a lot more often because i still have a lot of four to seven to play right here great game and quantum break which apparently is amazing i haven't even played it yet but i did install the 4k update on xbox one x so because my game save is in the cloud it's gonna be nice jumping back and forth between xbox one s my pc and xbox one x here on my 4k tv guys i'm telling you once you get 4k you're gonna love it and you have been watching a lot of bowie meets world lately i love it love it love it where's the remark i just wanted to say my tv is not that faded there you go just kind of sleeping the banger the power supply has arrived now i'm not going to connect it right now because i have to run down to the office real quick to take care of something but when i get back i'm going to edit some videos and then connect this because this isn't the kind of thing where you just want to rush through it you want to take your time make sure everything's working properly um so i just want to make sure my work is done and plus it's friday so it's technically a work day but there you go corsair 850 watt just like my other one yeah there's no rgb nothing fancy but apparently this is an excellent power supply ultra low noise which obviously i like so very cool not the most exciting unboxing but in theory this could put me back in the business because i miss my pc so much i do i do my little babies over there just dying actually she's not even dying she's just dead so we shall see but i'm gonna run down to the office right now i'm not taking you guys with me i just want to check on something and then coming back i'm gonna edit some video and then it's all about this perhaps perhaps i'll have that set up well i actually have to say yes but hopefully i get one because it would be nice to change the temperature from anywhere i want for instance last night i went to sleep in the main house over there and i forgot to turn down my temperature in here and well as you know this is an old house it uses oil so i change the temperature from there for here i love it i love it okay as much as i want to do the pc now i'll do it in a bit must edit guys must edit i have a lot of video content to get there still and plus it's only three o'clock got plenty of time late lunch today chicken nuggets um or as i like to call them chuggits okay i don't really call them chuggits but sometimes i do but not really but sometimes just finished editing okay that's not proof gaming photoshop video or whatever the colors change from green to yellow to orange and eventually to red so if i see red that means i'm doing some serious sorry for the language but yeah i don't i don't think i'll ever see it red unless i'm gaming in like maybe 4k which isn't gonna happen for a while because i don't have a 4k monitor however i can also set up the leds in my pc to react to music and of course i would like to show you all this but my pc is not up and running however i'm gonna do that right now let me plug the iphone in make sure i have a full battery for tonight cool videos are done guys in theory i don't have to do any video work next week except for you know thanksgiving and black friday um and the weekend vlog yes there will be a weekend vlog even though thanksgiving is next week you guys know me i'm not i'm not a big fan of taking breaks so expect a lot of holiday content starting on thursday now of course thanksgiving 2017 the series isn't going to be out until now see that's tough what monday then the weekend vlog will be on tuesday i'm not sure yet but i do know this patrons just like previous years will get early access so thanksgiving 2017 in theory should be live for patrons by friday yes i'm talking within 24 hours it is my priority to get these videos out as quick as possible uh for patrons and the same goes for black friday that's why my patreon campaign typically sees a huge spike during the holidays which i love seriously like a huge spike so just saying if you want early access to all my holiday videos five hours a month that's all funny thing is i don't technically need it anymore because that whole desk thing backfired but eventually at some point i'll get a quality l-shaped desk and put it here because my um whole vision with this is i want my gaming pc right here so that way i can have the twitch chat above my main monitor guys how cool is that going to be seriously i'm gaming and i look up and the chat is right there so that little windows 10 pc and the outlet right around there it's finally going to get some serious usage aside from my youtube subscriber counter then over here on the right would be like my apple station where eventually when apple updates the mac mini i'll buy myself a mac mini and yeah i know i know i have a mac pro but macbro is for the office but okay here we go guys moment of truth let's unbox my brand new power supply and just saying if this power supply does end up working i'm gonna hold on to my new motherboard that's coming tomorrow for maybe a week or two or maybe i'll just keep it forever because it's not a bad idea to have a spare motherboard i mean it wasn't wasn't that expensive so i mean why not why not happens as they say so it would definitely be nice to have a spare motherboard on the side and who knows this motherboard could be bad well there's no way to know until i actually get this thing hooked up so let's do it let me move my astros my room is currently a mess but guys i swear this whole thing was so organized a couple days ago it looked really nice but then again i'm biased it's my setup so i'm going to call it nice looking all right here's the old power supply that's the back plate that goes on the case and yes i will be testing it right away i'm not going to connect everything i'm just going to connect the main power and the cpu power to see if this thing actually lights up because keep in mind i believe these lights should still come on despite the pc not being on but the power supply being on this should act the same as this but hopefully this will last longer than 24 hours okay here we go opening up the corsair rm 850 x what's the easiest way take that plastic off what this includes a floppy drive adapter is that a joke floppy drive adapter floppy drive adapter um unless you can use that on newer accessories and they just call it a floppy drive adapter okay if i say floppy drive adapter one more time i'm gonna go crazy my dad is going crazy all right easy you guys are sitting on top of the pc all right here we go doesn't get more exciting than a power supply unboxing right well guys you know what without a power supply you've got nothing nice packaging okay here we go power cable don't eat this seriously you'll die cable wraps or cable ties whatever you want to call them so this goes up to 1 000 watts not not this one but this um family if you will this this this family of power supplies again minus 850 x i think on average you typically want to go with at least 750 you'd probably be okay with 650 but i went with 850 that gives me plenty of uh room to move and just like thermaltake you get a nice big bag of cables very nice and interestingly enough thermaltakes pci express cables are red these are black which is good and bad good because black's gonna blend in better with my case but bad because i kind of like red more than black because it's an accent but it doesn't really matter guys and there you go silent operation at low to moderate loads in this mode the fan will not spin yes just like the thermal take you might notice a trend there's only so much you can do with power supplies now this one i will say you can see the fan a lot easier now i'm going to plug this in to see if there's at least a power led of some kind because the thermal tank i could not find one all right let's unwrap the power cable here and by the way just a tip for you guys i do highly recommend saving all these little twisty ties because i've been i've been using them here and there especially for my microphone arm i have my usb cable going from the yeti down the microphone arm and i have it tied together which actually looks really good and then i have it kind of tied to my desk going across finally into my pc i say finally begins it's a very long cable we got plenty of connections by the way it is it is modular that basically means you don't have a bunch of cables just floating at the end which is kind of annoying but in this case it's not annoying so modular for the wind so here we go plugging it in turning it on in three two one why don't power supplies give you any power in this cushion river that's okay in theory it's gonna work now in my opinion there should always be some kind of power indicator on a power supply but that's just me all right i'm going to get the motherboard and the cpu connected and then we'll take it from there okay guys power supply is connected to power motherboard and cpu are both plugged in now this next action determines whether i need to install the new motherboard tomorrow and if i do not a big deal just a little weekend project for me because i have everything else set up i just got to take off the cpu cooler and obviously reconnect everything else but that's not hard that's not hard it'll take me about an hour all right when i flip this switch in theory we should get lights on the motherboard here we go three two one okay might be the motherboard guys it might be the motherboard hmm i'm still going to experiment i'm going to take out components one by one and see if anything comes out of it because who knows it could be the graphics card well and i also tried to take out the ram that obviously wasn't the issue but i'll take it out again guys i think i got it okay so for some reason the power supply didn't work the first time but that was using the old power supplies cables on the new power supply so i put the new power supply with new power supply cables and i got light so i was like wait a minute okay so i unplugged it and i plugged the new cables into the old power supply and this let out a quick like so i test it again which makes me think it was the power supply can you say affordable fix can you say freaking miracle now i gotta be honest i was kind of secretly looking forward to putting a new motherboard in there to see what it was like but i think i'm going to stand by what i said before i'm going to keep the new motherboard that's coming tomorrow just in case because well you never know it could easily happen again it could happen again it could be the motherboard doing something to the power supply which i doubt but you never know it's good to have spare parts so yes the motherboard will be staying here the new one um it's gonna cost me a couple hundred dollars but i think it's worth it because if that happens again at least i'll have that part immediately with an access all right here we go check it out okay so i'm using the new cables we got atx power going there cpu power and turn this on give it a second there you go oh my god i missed you so much you did i have no idea how much this makes me happy guys i put so much money and so much time into this and so much patience and it looks like it's going to be good now i'm going to the christmas show soon i'm going to unplug this just to be safe you never know i'm going to come back tonight i'm going to get this replace it twice and i said what you completely lost power he said yep the motherboard fried after a few days see mine was a day or two okay the motherboard's alive right now but still it makes you think um then he says i took it apart and reinstalled twice the troubleshoot i finally installed my old motherboard to see if it was a hookup or another hardware issue it proved that it was the motherboard i called amazon they sent my replacement reinstalled worked great for a week then it happened again finally i changed motherboards everything works fine just had bad luck with the maximus and guys that's exactly what i have the maximus x hero it's a great motherboard but i'm gonna say this i don't trust it i don't really trust it all that much okay so yes the power supply problem might be completely separate but still there's something about it i have a bad feeling especially considering it wasn't wrapped in anti-static and i'm the kind of consumer who just who just likes things brand new so i'm not gonna lie that worries me but my msi motherboard arrives tomorrow and yeah i have a good feeling i'll be installing that in the near future we'll see that we'll see i'm just so my pc runs into other issues then at least i have a backup motherboard to use because well let's face it one of the worst things that can fail on your pc is the motherboard because it's just such an involved process in terms of replacing it try to think of the best word there okay so i'm not gonna actually open the motherboard i'm just gonna show you guys the box but i'm excited to have an msi motherboard on the side thermal paste yeah that's cool props to amazon check it out they actually taped the thermal paste to the motherboard dude all right so if you guys are curious hold on it's loud this is actually my first time buying thermal paste i think i may have had it years ago or maybe it came with my cpu i don't know it was a long time ago there you go msi uh z370 gaming pro carbon ac this has built-in wi-fi which is definitely nice this does have more lights than my current motherboard does siri she's in the background searching now lights shouldn't sell you in a motherboard what comes down to a motherboard is performance io all that stuff but lights to me are an excellent extra you know what there's no tape on here so let me just open up the motherboard right now and make sure it's wrapped in anti-static wrap let's see that is how a motherboard should be packaged it is indeed wrapped in anti-static wrap very nice now in theory my current motherboard is fine it's fine but it still concerns me that it wasn't wrapped like this which tells me somebody returned it like as new maybe they took the plastic off and realized it didn't have something they needed so they put it back in the box and forgot to put the put the wrap around it but i'm telling you i have a bad feeling about my motherboard i do so this will be nice to have just in case you like that maui so there you go my first time ever buying a spare motherboard why not i mean i might as well have parts on the side right also i believe this is my first product ever from msi now is enjoying the box aren't you maui yeah you like that you're a good boy all right guys let's do this let's make today a productive day let's get my pc up and running again i'm excited look at my room now my god it's such a mess that's okay soon enough it will be back to normal i cannot afford to be distracted by the camera this time i'm going to do the install on my own time so i will check in in a bit with probably i will say the cables that my new power supply uses it's they're kind of thicker so they're a little harder to manage like look at this look at this they're kind of wrapped right there which i guess isn't necessarily a bad thing but considering everything i did that looks damn clean that looks really really clean also you guys recommended my nzxt cpu cooler video that i should flip the orientation of my fans and that's just what i did so there you go it should be correct now i think this is right to begin with air is pushing out well technically pulling out and i think this is pushing so push pull all airflow goes the same way now and of course my power supply fan is upside down like it was last time that way air is pushing downward through the air filter i think i'm ready but first of all check this out this is the other side of my case look how crazy it is it is super tight down here really really tight i hope that's not going to cause any issues i don't think it will there's not much i can do about that guys i mean i have so many accessories oh speaking of accessories i had to move my capture card up here because my brand new usb 3.0 expansion card would not fit part of the circuit board was rubbing with this plastic piece on my motherboard but the capture card thankfully is thinner so it fit in there perfectly so capture card is up here now and usb card is down here so pretty cool and now for the part where i put everything back together put my desk back like in just just in full order because it's crazy right now look at this it's driving me crazy and then i hit that power button wish me luck guys wish me luck i'm nervous did a lot of tinkering but everything should be connected including my corsair fan so in theory i'm going to get more light than ever and then monday i have some led strips coming from my case which patrons will get to see the first boot of that so i am excited all right i think i'm good everything should be connected resume you guys we'll see i just i just went through so many steps so turn the power strip on and three two one okay that's one that's the subwoofer you just heard monitors working and finding the power switch back here might take a second three two one come on give me light oh thank god oh god yes yes okay now did i wire the power button correctly and if not that's easy to fix either way there is a backup method to turn it on using the motherboard and speaking of the motherboard i may have reset the bios this week while i was just troubleshooting so if i just set that up again not a big deal three two one oh my god wait what the hell that was weird dude the fans are on okay that made me nervous it turned on then off again then on maybe it's because it initialized itself i'm not sure but that fan looks sweet okay we're not getting light on the top fan not a big deal i will figure that out but let's see if this boots uh please enter setup to recover bios settings after setting up intel optane memory blah blah blah sata mode selection must be changed all right so we should be good to go i'm not getting any errors for cpu cooler like i did the first time i tried to boot this isn't that beautiful it looks so good that fan looks amazing that looks incredible although the leds on the top right aren't lighting up on the fan huh i'll have to look into that and that fan is definitely not lighting up i'll try to figure that out what you doing f1 all right cool i'm in the bias i'm going to set things up and i will hope for the best i gotta get that fully working i thought that fan was connected to the controller it's on i mean it's it's power to the motherboard the top fan that's okay that's not a serious fix that's an easy fix i'm just glad the pc is running again oh i missed great but they're not reacting to the music until i go into my software hold on give me a second wait music aside i figured it out first of all the corsair fans check it out this one was set up as an rgb strip so if i click apply wait hold on hold on dear lord dear lord there you go you lose light but if you change it from led strip to rgb ll fan which is what this is click apply you get the full effect and get this add a second fan apply boom so it was just off by default that's all oh my god that looks so so cool oh my god i'm so happy now of course my graphics card is a big-ass graphics card so it's blocking a lot of light so again once i get the led strip on monday i'm gonna put one down here so it's hidden from view but you'll see the light emitting upward which is gonna look sweet because let's face it it's a little dark down here very cool i was gonna try to show you guys my ram changing color with the music but for some reason the software wasn't working so i uninstalled it went to reinstall it and the g skill website is down unless they change the url there you go okay hold on try it in z and download i did this last week and it worked perfectly i don't know it's because i did something to the motherboard i reset the settings i'm not sure but hold on i will get this working because the music also reacts with my cpu cooler and gpu so basically my entire case can be like a light show in response to music i don't know about the corsair fans though that i can look into in a bit i am so freaking hungry guys uh setup.exe so let's get this going yes i want to restart guys i am so freaking happy that definitely needs more light in the bottom that will be fixed on monday that will be fixed on monday i know i keep on repeating myself but i just love lights guys so i wanted to look the best it can and yeah the cable management back here is kind of messy at the moment i will clean that up in a bit rutters i will be in you very soon i need you all right so now i have that set to temperature i'm not going to leave that on the fans though the temperature setting i like for ram graphics card and the cpu cooler which i will set up shortly for some reason the g-skill of tridenzi software is not working i'm not sure why i'm going to look into that but check it out there are so many different effects for the fans it gets a bit crazy look at that it's so cool and look at this ark is amazing look at that that's so badass it's a freaking light show you can do rainbow rainbow waves static if you just want a single color you can make it anything you want for instance if you want red you can make one red for the holidays and the other one green not bad and this is cool hold on what is it you can make it really fast too check out that speed or you can slow it down let's drop that a nice slow spin very very cool you can do so much with this stuff all right so there is a pong effect which is a channel effect i think it works with the other one but i think it only works well if the fans are next to each other so i'm not gonna be using that one but sequential could be cool so let me choose fan number two actually they might be working in conjunction hold on sequential are they working with each other oh look at that oh yes look at that it goes from color to color dude that is nice i like that a lot that is so freaking cool oh my god holiday hits i see that now when i pause this the lights stop and i play it and it goes per volume so if i turn the volume down the lights get softer look at that but turn the volume up the lights get cpu cooler and the fans and they're both connected via usb i made sure hmm not a big concern right now honestly i'm just so glad the pc's up and running look at this the lights are cycling through shutters that right there is powered by the brand new usb expansion card in the back which is really nice because well one it gives me more ports and two i don't have to use these ports now i will be using these ports on occasion for you know like flash drives or whatever boom plug and play but in general i want this front to look just simple clean and organized and the expansion card worked perfectly i didn't have to install any drivers or anything like that which is really cool you know what guys i'm thinking about getting a dedicated vlogging camera and ditching the canon 80d maui no get because this camera i love it is the best camera i've ever purchased but it's just look at this look the shadows are cast from the uh microphone that annoys me immensely and i hate shadows on faces at least obstructive shadows i don't mind contouring whatever for photography so eventually at some point i'm talking like after christmas because i've spent enough money on myself the rest of my spending the majority of it anyway is going to go towards family and friends for the holidays but sometime early 2018 i want to get a good vlogging camera and just leave this in the office at all times and use it for unboxings reviews and whatever else so it'll be nice to have um you know cameras per location really wish i could find my webcam but in the meantime i'm going to try to get obs found out it never went to sleep i think that's because i was running the epic games installer because it was downloading unreal tournament overnight which i'm loving granted i've only done the it was actually running which tells me the power supply could be okay could be okay now i know i know completely different power supply different brand different configuration perhaps i don't know how lots of coffee okay that's every day anyway especially this week oh my god guys i had so much coffee we're going to the christmas show tonight at american music theater which is literally like what seven or eight minutes from our house which is amazing it's just it's just so close maybe 10 minutes maybe 10 minutes it depends on how slow people in front of you drive i don't like slow drivers and it's gonna be a good weekend in general because i have a lot of tech to talk about so let me do a quick recap of my week my patrons saw this in like a two hours length but i'm gonna give it to you in like two minutes yes this week's pages only vlog was like what an hour and 58 minutes-ish pretty much two hours and that's insane two hours guys just saying that link is always right below for patreon consider it a christmas gift to me that's all i want this year from you a five dollar pledge it goes a long way all right anyway um monday started out with my breaking down the black desk that i bought from amazon yes another desk i built it late sunday night while i was previewing the weekend vlog you know just to make sure everything looked good and the desk came damaged i'm not going to go into detail because it's boring stuff but long story short i contacted customer service and they said david we are going to refund you in what three to five days or whatever but get this you can keep the desk you can do anything you want with it yeah i'm pretty sure just because it's so big and honestly i said that i'm like well what do you want me to do at the desk it's so big and and just heavy and they said keep and i was like oh my god thank you so much that is a huge uh weight off my shoulders because i don't want to deal with that even though i already broke down the desk i put it back in the packaging and taped the box up the best i could but whatever whatever that's beside the points so then after that i got some pc parked in um well tuesday tuesday was the big day i got my geforce 1080 ti-n yes 1080 ti one of the best if not the best graphics card you can get in that price range i would say i'm loving it but i'll talk about that soon i mean i am i am loving it just the lights are amazing performance so far is great i haven't played anything too demanding but that's the thing i haven't played really anything at all except for maybe two or three basic games well including the forza 7 demo which is good but honestly it looked better on my xbox one x because i have a 4k tv and i don't have a 4k monitor in my bedroom yet but that's going to happen eventually but in general i've been loving my pc but i'll talk about that in a minute so then actually backing up a bit monday night i unboxed fake astros you guys saw that video right that is the first time i've ever been scammed on amazon now thankfully amazon's customer service was amazing and they shipped out a brand new pair of astro a40s right here along with the mix amp pro using next day shipping now grant said i didn't get it until two days later because i contacted them like 10 pm eastern so technically counted as the next business day which was wednesday but still amazon i love you guys your customer service is incredible and they handled it beautifully now unfortunately they haven't taken the fake headset yet but they'll do that soon and then between tuesday and wednesday i set up my pc the graphics card's installed the capture cards installed everything's installed including the new cpu cooler and everything was working great was working great thursday night no wait wednesday night i had an excellent night with the crew on ps4 you know a lot of laughs a lot of good conversations and uh overwatch okay so this is what happened i played my play cool good times awesome times i walk over here i peek in and i just look at my pc to check on it because sometimes i just like to look at it because i'm not going to lie i'm proud of it i guess i built it myself so that's just a lot to say for me it's my first ever truly custom built pc um and i got a gpu supporter because the 1080 ti is a heavy graphics card like it pretty much spans the entire width of my case so i bought a gpu a little support thing thanks to my friends and danny and otter i appreciate your advice so i bought one and it lights up it's gonna be our monday it's gonna look sweet i go to brush my teeth blah blah blah scrub-a-dub-dub in my tub i wasn't in the tub i go back here because i want to play a free game called smite for a little bit before bed and i look at my pc and it's completely off so i was thinking okay that's weird because even when the pc is off but the power supply is on there are certain lights on my motherboard that stay on no matter what and i believe i can change that in the bios but regardless i should have seen lights so i started panicking i turn off and on the power supply i start tinkering with things this thing is dead yes my brand new gaming pc which cost me a ton of money and time and many many hours is a brick right now it's just completely dead now i think it's the power supply and thankfully i have a brand new power supply arriving today from amazon today i'm not wasting any time i'm going to plug it in and if it works then thank you but not only that and this next act may seem a bit extreme but i'm not taking any chances last night i ordered a brand new motherboard from msi not asus i'm going to give msi a try so if it's the motherboard that's dead then so be it i'll rip it out i'll reinstall everything and put the new motherboard in which apparently is and then i'll go from there so it's most likely either the power supply or the motherboard it's just weird that the motherboard is getting no power whatsoever and of course i checked all the cables i checked like everything was screwed on tight or snug not too too tight and i don't think there's any shorts going on the board so yeah it sucks it was a giant stab in my heart i spent all that time just building and perfecting this thing to my liking and then out of nowhere it randomly dies i mean it barely lasted more than 24 hours so that's why i think it's the power supply everything was working fine and then it just died now granted i was late with the cpu cooler i had to change the power button and all that stuff but i wouldn't have done anything to actually damage the uh board myself well because with any pc or mac or whatever you're using if the cpu gets too hot it's going to automatically shut down no matter what so long story short i just gotta wait for the power supply to arrive today and if the power supply works then boom i'm back in business and if the power supply does not work then that sucks the motherboard replacement is arriving tomorrow and i'll try to get that fixed okay so you're probably saying david but it's probably not the motherboard what are the chances of that well i have something i haven't really talked about too much yet shout out to my friend julian and i promise i'll get into the vlog soon shout out to my friend julian he asked me if the motherboard was brand new i said i think so um and then he asked me if it came in the anti-static wrap i just want to get my coffee going here at least okay so anyway my motherboard did not come in an anti-sonic wrap which you might recall my mentioning in my installation video and i just found that very odd i mean i even said that in my video i'm like that's weird it wasn't wrapped but then under it i found a piece of plastic and you might also recall i could not find the sata data cables anywhere anywhere in that box so i looked at the motherboard information on asus's official websites and yes it said that my motherboard should have included four sata data cables four i didn't get one so i think at some point someone for whatever reason opened the motherboard returned it didn't wrap it in the anti-static wrap and did not include the sata cables see i knew i wasn't going crazy i had every other cable i needed you know at least for the motherboard but the sata cables hence why i ordered some on amazon and now granted it's fine it's hooked up but do you think somebody ended up returning the motherboard because they also had issues and now i'm having the same issue it makes you think is it is it a crazy coincidence or is it just bad luck i don't know i guess i guess there's no real way of knowing and yes i know there's the paperclip method in the power supply to see if it spins up i have not tried that yet because i ordered a power supply for today so i'm not even going to bother but there you go guys there you go very long intro i apologize to my non-geeky friends sometimes i like their nerd out that's what i like to do yeah just i put all that time and all that work and passion in my pc and it just sucks it absolutely sucks to see it just die randomly like that hi maui now i was like david what the hell are you saying so guys i guess you can expect more pc footage this weekend okay so i'm not gonna be as in depth this weekend as i was last weekend because yeah i know i went on for a while and most of you probably want to see more of the family in the vlogs and i don't blame you i don't blame you i try to balance things that's the best way to put i try i try to balance my tech with my family life and all that stuff i put in the vlog but for my non-geeks out there i just ask that you understand how big of a deal this is this isn't just some pc you buy at best buy or amazon or whatever i picked each part for a reason and when it just gives up on you like i said stabbing your heart it really is but there are worse problems in the world so i will wait till my power supply arrives and if that doesn't work then i'll wait till my motherboard arrives and i'll try that and if that doesn't work which it should i don't see why not then i have other issues to worry about oh and also i did order more thermal paste which i forgot about but because the thermal paste was pre-applied to my cpu cooler i will be likely taking it off my cpu since i had to take the board off which means i had to reapply my own thermal paste this time which is fine it's not a big deal okay can i enjoy my coffee now sorry it's just been a crazy week also i got my iphone 10 i don't know if i even mentioned that yes i got my iphone 10. i am absolutely loving it look face id just works the screen is beautiful the notch doesn't bother me whatsoever honestly i think it actually looks kind of nice i know i know that's a very fanboy comment to say but i mean that it's unique it's different from all the all the other phones i've used recently especially this the google pixel 2 xl it's a nice phone but i got gotta be honest it's very boring it's it is it is the most boring android phone i've used in a long time and that's why i've barely used it and i hate santa because i have to use it more because i'm making a video about it soon i have to take pictures and record videos and see how performs but overall it's a solid phone just i don't know it's a very boring phone and i hate saying that because i guess that's what you get with pure android you don't get anything fancy but at the same time i kind of like the fancy features of the note 8 you get the little s pen and the um lg v20 and v10 i never use the v30 but you get that extra screen up top so yeah the pixel 2 xl has nothing unique to offer but if you're looking for that pure android experience then yeah perhaps you'll love it man it has been a crazy week guys it has been an absolutely crazy week and i've barely touched my xbox one x and of course it's not that i don't love it because i do this is a fantastic console especially for the price yeah i mean with my pc i just been so focused on it so once my pc is up and running again then i can get back into my normal routine and trying to balance out on my consoles and pc and whatever okay now can i have coffee dear lord all right got my coffee heating up got a little bit of breakfast in the toaster which maui's about to go along with it maui please don't stand near the toaster it gets very hot good boy good boy now i need to publish the pigeons only a blockage vlog and i think i have three more videos to edit still yeah i mean i'm just trying to get all the pc stuff out before thanksgiving and then from that point forward holidays holidays holiday so expect a ton of holiday content so i had to edit my 1080 ti unboxing and installation video i have to edit my accessories video and i have to edit my capture card unboxing and installation video yes capture card oh which by the way i don't think i mentioned it in this vlog yet and guys look this setup is looking very pro now of course it's gonna look a lot better once it's up and running but check this out on the far right is my minecraft xbox one s going into my capture card which is very cool which means that i can finally once again stream my xbox one natively like it doesn't hide the friends list it doesn't hide the little achievement pop-up notifications all that stuff you can see everything that i see and i'm excited and honestly i need to start streaming on xbox a lot more often because i still have a lot of four to seven to play right here great game and quantum break which apparently is amazing i haven't even played it yet but i did install the 4k update on xbox one x so because my game save is in the cloud it's gonna be nice jumping back and forth between xbox one s my pc and xbox one x here on my 4k tv guys i'm telling you once you get 4k you're gonna love it and you have been watching a lot of bowie meets world lately i love it love it love it where's the remark i just wanted to say my tv is not that faded there you go just kind of sleeping the banger the power supply has arrived now i'm not going to connect it right now because i have to run down to the office real quick to take care of something but when i get back i'm going to edit some videos and then connect this because this isn't the kind of thing where you just want to rush through it you want to take your time make sure everything's working properly um so i just want to make sure my work is done and plus it's friday so it's technically a work day but there you go corsair 850 watt just like my other one yeah there's no rgb nothing fancy but apparently because it would be nice to change the temperature from anywhere i want for instance last night i went to sleep in the main house over there and i forgot to turn down my temperature in here and well as you know this is an old house it uses oil so i change the temperature from there for here i love it i love it okay as much as i want to do the pc now i'll do it in a bit must edit guys must edit i have a lot of video content to get there still and plus it's only three o'clock got plenty of time late lunch today chicken nuggets um or as i like to call them chuggits okay i don't really call them chuggits but sometimes i do but not really but sometimes just finished editing okay that's not proof that's just a frog isn't that a great wallpaper you know i took it on my iphone 10 right actually no i didn't but i will tell you portrait lighting mode is insane like it is so so cool let me show you a picture of myself i took using portrait lighting mode look at that does that not look pro that seriously looks like i was in a studio that is awesome that is seriously freaking awesome so so cool and if you're curious about my pc setup when i was actually alive and running there you go and i think i have one yeah there's there's a video all right one more video before bed i am loving what's really cool about the lights on my pc is i have them set up so when everything's running cool like you know my gpu my cpu and my ram everything is green but as they get warmer you know as i'm doing gaming photoshop video or whatever the colors change from green to yellow to orange and eventually to red so if i see red that means i'm doing some serious sorry for the language but yeah i don't i don't think i'll ever see it red unless i'm gaming in like maybe 4k which isn't gonna happen for a while because i don't have a 4k monitor however i can also set up the leds in my pc to react to music and of course i would like to show you all this but my pc is not up and running however i'm gonna do know i know i have a mac pro but macbro is for the office but okay here we go guys moment of truth let's unbox my brand new power supply and just saying if this power supply does end up working i'm gonna hold on to my new motherboard that's coming tomorrow for maybe a week or two or maybe i'll just keep it forever because it's not a bad idea to have a spare motherboard i mean it wasn't wasn't that expensive so i mean why not why not happens as they say so it would definitely be nice to have a spare motherboard on the side and who knows this motherboard could be bad well there's no way to know until i actually get this thing hooked up so let's do it let me move my astros my room is currently a mess but guys i swear this whole thing was so organized a couple days ago it looked really nice but then again i'm biased it's my setup so i'm going to call it nice looking all right here's the old power supply that's the back plate that goes on the case and yes i will be testing it right away i'm not going to connect everything i'm just going to connect the main power and the cpu power to see if this thing actually lights up because keep in mind i believe these lights should still come on despite the pc not being on but the power supply being on this should act the same as this but hopefully this will last longer than 24 hours okay here we go opening up the corsair rm 850 x what's the easiest way take that plastic off what this includes a floppy drive adapter is that a joke floppy drive adapter floppy drive adapter um unless you can use that on newer accessories and they just call it a floppy drive adapter okay if i say floppy drive adapter one more time i'm gonna go crazy my dad is going crazy all right easy you guys are sitting on top of the pc all right here we go doesn't get more exciting than a power supply unboxing right well guys you know what without a power supply you've got nothing nice packaging okay here we go power cable don't eat this seriously you'll die cable wraps or cable ties whatever you want to call them so this goes up to 1 000 watts not not this one but this um family if you will this this this family of power supplies again minus 850 x i think on average you typically want to go with at least 750 you'd probably be okay with 650 but i went with 850 that gives me plenty of uh room to move and just like thermaltake you get a nice big bag of cables very nice and interestingly enough thermaltakes pci express cables are red these are black which is good and bad good because black's gonna blend in better with my case but bad because i kind of like red more than black because it's an accent but it doesn't really matter guys and there you go silent operation at low to moderate loads in this mode the fan will not spin yes just like the thermal take you might notice a trend there's only so much you can do with power supplies now this one i will say you can see the fan a lot easier now i'm going to plug this in to see if there's at least a power led of some kind because the thermal tank i could not find one all right let's unwrap the power cable here and by the way just a tip for you guys i do highly recommend saving all these little twisty ties because i've been i've been using them here and there especially for my microphone arm i have my usb cable going from the yeti down the microphone arm and i have it tied together which actually looks really good and then i have it kind of tied to my desk going across finally into my pc i say finally begins it's a very long cable we got plenty of connections by the way it is it is modular that basically means you don't have a bunch of cables just floating at the end which is kind of annoying but in this case it's not annoying so modular for the wind so here we go plugging it in turning it on in three two one why don't power supplies give you any power in this cushion river that's okay in theory it's gonna work now in my opinion there should always be some kind of power indicator on a power supply but that's just me all right i'm going to get the motherboard and the cpu connected and then we'll take it from there okay guys power supply is connected to power motherboard and cpu are both plugged in now this next action determines whether i need to install the new motherboard tomorrow and if i do not a big deal just a little weekend project for me because i have everything else set up i just got to take off the cpu cooler and obviously reconnect everything else but that's not hard that's not hard it'll take me about an hour all right when i flip this switch in theory we should get lights on the motherboard here we go three two one okay might be the motherboard guys it might be the motherboard hmm i'm still going to experiment i'm going to take out components one by one and see if anything comes out of it because who knows it could be the graphics card well and i also tried to take out the ram that obviously wasn't the issue but i'll take it out again guys i think i got it okay so for some reason the power supply didn't work the first time but that was using the old power supplies cables on the new power supply so i put the new power supply with new power supply cables and i got light so i was like wait a minute okay so i unplugged it and i plugged the new cables into the old power supply and this let out a quick like so i test it again which makes me think it was the power supply can you say affordable fix can you say freaking miracle now i gotta be honest i was kind of secretly looking forward to putting a new motherboard in there to see what it was like but i think i'm going to stand by what i said before i'm going to keep the new motherboard that's coming tomorrow just in case because well you never know it could easily happen again it could happen again it could be the motherboard doing something to the power supply which i doubt but you never know it's good to have spare parts so yes the motherboard will be staying here the new one um it's gonna cost me a couple hundred dollars but i think it's worth it because if that happens again at least i'll have that part immediately with an access all right here we go check it out okay so i'm using the new cables we got atx power going there cpu power and turn this on give it a second there you go oh my god i missed you so much you did i have no idea how much this makes me happy guys i put so much money and so much time into this and so much patience and it looks like it's going to be good now i'm going to the christmas show soon i'm going to unplug this just to be safe you never know i'm going to come back tonight i'm going to get this together and show you guys my real setup i might stream on twitch here tonight and not ps4 we'll say we'll see but i'm three five pounds okay potatoes question for you though how low carb low carb sorry no no sugars right no sugar no carbs high fat high fat why that's interesting you give yourself fat your body will automatically store your body usually runs on carbs fuel for carbs so if you don't if you starve your body of carbs it will start burning the fat that you have built up in your body so your body will burn on fat so you eat fat to lose weight basically right but you don't eat carbs correct or sugars correct but in general you shouldn't really have a lot of sugar correct and i'm not doing it long process it although when you go in they scan the cable box they give you a number and then you go to wait for your turn and literally once your turn comes it's about a minute processing to finalize that you handle the cable box in to the receptionist that you did 45 minutes ago now granted today's visit was only 15 minutes but it should have been a minute this is 2017. check out my video on kibble this one this little cable no wait not that one this one this cable was hiding with the power supply cables not that one but my thermaltake wherever that is my poor graphics card is just sitting out there but yeah i am so so glad i found that cable by accident those fans are gonna look amazing tomorrow however with that said i want to give a shout out to someone on facebook god i love face id you just swipe and it just it just feels so natural because it's constantly looking for your face anyway let me see let me see let me see shout out to brian grant on facebook he said i had the same problem with that motherboard amazon had to replace it twice and i said what you completely lost power he said yep the motherboard fried after a few days see mine was a day or two okay the motherboard's alive right now but still it makes you think um then he says i took it apart and reinstalled twice the troubleshoot i finally installed my old motherboard to see if it was a hookup or another hardware issue it proved that it was the motherboard i called amazon they sent my replacement reinstalled worked great for a week then it happened again finally i changed motherboards everything works fine just had bad luck with the maximus and guys that's exactly what i have the maximus x hero it's a great motherboard but i'm gonna say this i don't trust it i don't really trust it all that much okay so yes the power supply problem might be completely separate but still there's something about it i have a bad feeling especially considering it wasn't wrapped in anti-static and i'm the kind of consumer who just who just likes things brand new so i'm not gonna lie that worries me but my msi motherboard arrives tomorrow and yeah i have a good feeling i'll be installing that in the near future we'll see that we'll see i'm just so glad to be back into the pc scene it's just nice getting your hands on tools and parts again right now yeah yeah uncookie david grow up i'm just so happy the pc is going to be alive tomorrow maui are you hyped are you hyped what the all right gaming time i'm tired like i said it's not gonna stop me from enjoying overwatch i would much rather an episode i think like three or four episode three or four or chapter three and four and then my priority for the day is the pc i just i just want to sit down right now for a little bit and enjoy my coffee and then i'll jump into that i'm excited i'm excited today's the day my pc gets up and running and let's hope also my spare motherboard should be here in a bit and it's a wet one today guys reason why is it on volume 61 that bothers me even numbers only or increments of five so yeah for whatever reason stranger things the first time i watched it i enjoyed it but the second time i went hopefully i'll get my overlay done today for twitch get my obs set up and just the pc running in general this has been quite the process guys but it is it is worth it i'm telling you you just you just get a certain kind of satisfaction out of building your own pc dude that ending to episode four incredible incredible camera work you guys over at netflix and whatever are doing a fantastic job i appreciate stuff like that so much that that camera work was just amazing just incredible oh why can't all shows be this good i am so glad netflix is kicking ass with with its original content guys i'm telling you studios like fox and cbs and whatever are terrified of netflix and i love it man that was a good episode but okay it is now let me put my watch on because i slept with it last night so i charged it when i got up should be fully charged now yep 236 100 battery life still pretty early in the day right of course i didn't have lunch yet and breakfast for that matter but i rarely eat breakfast the soundtrack is so good chapter five dig dug awesome name all the all the 80s references are incredible i love me some 80s i do all right oh by the way my new motherboard came again keep in mind i'm not guaranteed to be using it right now but if my pc runs into other issues then at least i have a backup motherboard to use because well let's face it one of the worst things that can fail on your pc is the motherboard because it's just such an involved process in terms of replacing it try to think of the best word there okay so i'm not gonna actually open the motherboard i'm just gonna show you guys the box but i'm excited to have an msi motherboard on the side thermal paste yeah that's cool props to amazon check it out they actually taped the thermal paste to the motherboard dude all right so if you guys are curious hold on it's loud this is actually my first time buying thermal paste i think i may have had it years ago or maybe it came with my cpu i don't know it was a long time ago there you go msi uh z370 gaming pro carbon ac this has built-in wi-fi which is definitely nice this does have more lights than my current motherboard does siri she's in the background searching now lights shouldn't sell you in a motherboard what comes down to a motherboard is performance io all that stuff but lights to me are an excellent extra you know what there's no tape on here so let me just open up the motherboard right now and make sure it's wrapped in anti-static wrap let's see that is how a motherboard should be packaged it is indeed wrapped in anti-static wrap very nice now in theory my current motherboard is fine it's fine but it still concerns me that it wasn't wrapped like this which tells me somebody returned it like as new maybe they took the plastic off and realized it didn't have something they needed so they put it back in the box and forgot to put the put the wrap around it but i'm telling you i have a bad feeling about my motherboard i do so this will be nice to have just in case you like that maui so there you go my first time ever buying a spare motherboard why not i mean i might as well have parts on the side right also i believe this is my first product ever from msi now is enjoying the box aren't you maui yeah you like that you're a good boy all right guys let's do this let's make today a productive day let's get my pc up and running again i'm excited look at my room now my god it's such a mess that's okay soon enough it will be back to normal i cannot afford to be distracted by the camera this time i'm going to do the install on my own time so i will check in in a bit with probably more coffee watch some mac break weekly it is already 4 30. that took a lot longer than i thought it would but look this is what patience looks like look at that cable management is that not clean now i will say the cables that my new power supply uses it's they're kind of thicker so they're a little harder to manage like look at this look at this they're kind of wrapped right there which i guess isn't necessarily a bad thing but considering everything i did that looks damn clean that looks really really clean also you guys recommended my nzxt cpu cooler video that i should flip the orientation of my fans and that's just what i did so there you go it should be correct now i think this is right to begin with air is pushing out well technically pulling out and i think this is pushing so push pull all airflow goes the same way now and of course my power supply fan is upside down like it was last time that way air is pushing downward through the air filter i think i'm ready but first of all check this out this is the other side of my case look how crazy it is it is super tight down here really really tight i hope that's not going to cause any issues i don't think it will there's not much i can do about that guys i mean i have so many accessories oh speaking of accessories i had to move my capture card up here because my brand new usb 3.0 expansion card would not fit part of the circuit board was rubbing with this plastic piece on my motherboard but the capture card thankfully is thinner so it fit in there perfectly so capture card is up here now and usb card is down here so pretty cool and now for the part where i put everything back together put my desk back like in just just in full order because it's crazy right now look at this it's driving me crazy and then i hit that power button wish me luck guys wish me luck i'm nervous did a lot of tinkering but everything should be connected including my corsair fan so in theory i'm going to get more light than ever and then monday i have some led strips coming from my case which patrons will get to see the first boot of that so i am excited all right i think i'm good everything should be connected resume podcast and i should be going to rudder soon because i am very hungry that would have made it into the wild ignore my dirty screening here we go guys moment of truth now keep in mind when i turn the power strip on i should get lights on the case once it's in the power supply one but that doesn't necessarily mean the pc is on i'll just get a few lights here and there oh god i'm nervous we'll see you guys we'll see i just i just went through so many steps so turn the power strip on and three two one okay that's one that's the subwoofer you just heard monitors working and finding the power switch back here might take a second three two one come on give me light oh thank god oh god yes yes okay now did i wire the power button correctly and if not that's easy to fix either way there is a backup method to turn it on using the motherboard and speaking of the motherboard i may have reset the bios this week while i was just troubleshooting so if i just set that up again not a big deal three two one oh my god wait what the hell that was weird dude the fans are on okay that made me nervous it turned on then off again then on maybe it's because it initialized itself i'm not sure but that fan looks sweet okay we're not getting light on the top fan not a big deal i will figure that out but let's see if this boots uh please enter setup to recover bios settings after setting up intel optane memory blah blah blah sata mode selection must be changed all right so we should be good to go i'm not getting any errors for cpu cooler like i did the first time i tried to boot this isn't that beautiful it looks so good that fan looks amazing that looks incredible although the leds on the top right aren't lighting up on the fan huh i'll have to look into that and that fan is definitely not lighting up i'll try to figure that out what you doing f1 all right cool i'm in the bias i'm going to set things up and i will hope for the best i gotta get that fully working i thought that fan was connected to the controller it's on i mean it's it's power to the motherboard the top fan that's okay that's not a serious fix that's an easy fix i'm just glad the pc is running again oh i missed you i love me some pentatonix man i cannot wait to listen to that more okay guys we're good to go i looked into the fans the top one is connected just like the rear fan is so i don't understand why it's not putting off leds maybe it's defective because i'm telling you this one should have more lights here let me bump down the exposure so you can actually see what i see you see the top right corner it's kind of dark right i mean i think that should have led so i don't know i'm not going to worry about it too much because it's just for looks the fans are working they're both pushing out air which is obviously good now let me turn my light on i do have an extra fan and see if it works but i'm not gonna do that now i'm just so glad it's working man today has been crazy it's already 5 30. i've barely seen the family i've just been sucked into getting this up and running again but you know what it's my baby it's my baby it's worth it ah it looks great now i'm going to show you guys something very cool that i showed my patrons throughout the week check this out and you can get this for pretty much any kind of pc nowadays that has fans or our lights i mean i hope you're pcs fans uh let me see bring up itunes all right let me go to radio i should be signed in still yeah holiday hits okay now do you see the lights they're not really doing anything special right i mean they look great but they're not reacting to the music until i go into my software hold on give me a second wait music aside i figured it out first of all the corsair fans check it out this one was set up as an rgb strip so if i click apply wait hold on hold on dear lord dear lord there you go you lose light but if you change it from led strip to rgb ll fan which is what this is click apply you get the full effect and get this add a second fan apply boom so it was just off by default that's all oh my god that looks so so cool oh my god i'm so happy now of course my graphics card is a big-ass graphics card so it's blocking a lot of light so again once i get the led strip on monday i'm gonna put one down here so it's hidden from view but you'll see the light emitting upward which is gonna look sweet because let's face it it's a little dark down here very cool i was gonna try to show you guys my ram changing color with the music but for some reason the software wasn't working so i uninstalled it went to reinstall it and the g skill website is down unless they change the url there you go okay hold on try it in z and download i did this last week and it worked perfectly i don't know it's because i did something to the motherboard i reset the settings i'm not sure but hold on i will get this working because the music also reacts with my cpu cooler and gpu so basically my entire case can be like a light show in response to music i don't know about the corsair fans though that i can look into in a bit i am so freaking hungry guys uh setup.exe so let's get this going yes i want to restart guys i am so freaking happy that definitely needs more light in the bottom that will be fixed on monday that will be fixed on monday i know i keep on repeating myself but i just love lights guys so i wanted to look the best it can and yeah the cable management back here is kind of messy at the moment i will clean that up in a bit rutters i will be in you very soon i need you all right so now i have that set to temperature i'm not going to leave that on the fans though the temperature setting i like for ram graphics card and the cpu cooler which i will set up shortly for some reason the g-skill of tridenzi software is not working i'm not sure why i'm going to look into that but check it out there are so many different effects for the fans it gets a bit crazy look at that it's so cool and look at this ark is amazing look at that that's so badass it's a freaking light show you can do rainbow rainbow waves static if you just want a single color you can make it anything you want for instance if you want red you can make one red for the holidays and the other one green not bad and this is cool hold on what is it you can make it really fast too check out that speed or you can slow it down let's drop that a nice slow spin very very cool you can do so much with this stuff all right so there is a pong effect which is a channel effect i think it works with the other one but i think it only works well if the fans are next to each other so i'm not gonna be using that one but sequential could be cool so let me choose fan number two actually they might be working in conjunction hold on sequential are they working with each other oh look at that oh yes look at that it goes from color to color dude that is nice i like that a lot that is so freaking cool oh my god i'm in geek heaven right now all right for now let me just show you the gpu changing color in reaction to music hopefully i don't get hit with copyright come on itunes there you go hey you can do it holiday hits i see that now when i pause this the lights stop and i play it and it goes per volume so if i turn the volume down the lights get softer look at that but turn the volume up the lights get more intense how cool is that let's do something more intense like classic rock there you go so cool all right let's avoid copyright i still need to figure out why i can't control the lights on the cpu cooler and the fans and they're both connected via usb i made sure hmm not a big concern right now honestly i'm just so glad the pc's up and running look at this the lights are cycling through color they're actually talking to each other like fan one phantom fan one phantom and of course i got my razer keyboard down here razer mouse and razer mouse pad which all three are always cycling through colors this is cool guys i am loving this you can find everything yes every single part i have with this pc over at in the video this little magnetic headset holder check it out oh i can get it it's really strong which is a good thing look at that you're kidding me you can do half and half and use it to organize your cables try doing all this with one hand as usual and you can tangle the cables around or you can join it together to hold your headset or headphones isn't that cool look at that that is so awesome but i like to keep it on the side that way you can't really see it because i really like the clean front of my case all right so i think that's it for everything except for my webcam also i do want to mention the astro a40 uh mix amp pro right there i hate shutters that right there is powered by the brand new usb expansion card in the back which is really nice because well one it gives me more ports and two i don't have to use these ports now i will be using these ports on occasion for you know like flash drives or whatever boom plug and play but in general i want this front to look just simple clean and organized and the expansion card worked perfectly i didn't have to install any drivers or anything like that which is really cool you know what guys i'm thinking about getting a dedicated vlogging camera and ditching the canon 80d maui no get because this camera i love it is the best camera i've ever purchased but it's just look at this look the shadows are cast from the uh microphone that annoys me immensely and i hate shadows on faces at least obstructive shadows i don't mind contouring whatever for photography so eventually at some point i'm talking like after christmas because i've spent enough money on myself the rest of my spending the majority of it anyway is going to go towards family and friends for the holidays but sometime early 2018 i want to get a good vlogging camera and just leave this in the office at all times and use it for unboxings reviews and whatever else so it'll be nice to have um you know cameras per location really wish i could find my webcam but in the meantime i'm going to try to get obs set up and put a quick overlay together on my macbook pro and then obviously just transfer the files to the pc i love you i do well it's running perfectly okay so i came in here a little while ago and i found out it never went to sleep i think that's because i was running the epic games installer because it was downloading unreal tournament overnight which i'm loving granted i've only done the training but it's kind of like a throwback to my childhood but at the same time it's kind of a good thing it didn't sleep because it proved that it kept running just fine like it wasn't just sleeping it was actually running which tells me the power supply could be okay could be okay now i know i know completely different power supply different brand different configuration perhaps i don't know how power supplies work i'm assuming this one could be higher quality i don't know or maybe it's just bad luck who knows who knows i'm just so glad it's working and it's running beautifully and my graphics card was actually yellow a little while ago it's green now because i'm just sitting in the menu but that means i was pushing we did not set it up yet we're gonna set that up later this week and i hijacked this this is my keyboard for my pc in the office but i figured right now it's going to get more use because of having a twitch chat on here it's going to be so awesome then eventually i'll buy another one of these keyboards for the office because it really is that great because it's got built-in trackpad which is perfect for tv usage the only thing that bothers me is i cannot find my webcam and i could have sworn i left it in the office maybe when i was moving stuff over like a couple months ago but i have no idea where my webcam is and i'm not going to stream without a camera in my opinion it's not as exciting when there's no face cam because i like to see who's playing but the good news is it's around
