The Blink of an Eye: A Masterclass in Performance and Handling
This is insanely fast - in order for them to do that, they had to put triple cones synchros in all the gears. Meaning that every shift it is really really smooth and when you give it a manual stick shift, it makes things so much better. Yeah, you get a little burble from that exhaust and those 500 horsepower come a lot this thing is absolutely insane.
So, what makes this car stand out? It has a few air lights because they have to code out those issues with the ABS, but the car drives perfectly. It has the perfect amount of power and everything works as it should. And let's be honest, that flat-plane 4.5 liter V8 is just intoxicating. The manual transmission itself is another thing of beauty - this whole assembly was taken from an F430, which is the base model, but it's also tweaked a little bit. They have their own special tweaks so this is actually a little bit of a short shifter and it gives it that much better feel. It feels almost rifle bolt-ish.
The engine makes such a beautiful noise in the cabin - it reverberates because there's no sound deadening. It's definitely a race car loud in here, but I couldn't stop smiling. This is just intoxicating. The gearbox is absolutely perfect, and my water is up flying around over there, but it doesn't matter. These PS4s tires are gripping so much and the chassis is great. The 4.5 liter 500 horsepower engine is all at the top, so you have to really work for it, but those shifts when you get them right - it's just the best thing in the world.
This car is exactly what you think it is. It's exactly like your first car, except God is here. It's at the end of an ideal, where everything comes together perfectly. Every single downshift is an offense, you get a little bit of pops and crackles from the exhaust, but then just turns all that sound into speed.
A Perfect Day with the Scuderia F430
This car is for all intents and purposes perfect. Every single downshift is an offense. You get a little bit of pops and crackles from the exhaust, but then just turns all that sound into speed. This is absolutely the perfect car to be doing this - it loves this.
I have to thank the guys at European Auto Roofers for showing me their amazing, amazing car. There we go, there we oh good god, deadpan. I think I need to sell my Lambos and get one of these. I think it's worth it. I think it's so worth it.
A Note on Manual Conversions
If you guys know of any Scuderia F430s that have been in a fire or a crash or something that has some value off their price, then I'm really interested in this car. But I'm gonna stop rushing about this car - I want to bring it in and see what art has to say.
A Call for Pricing: A 2011 Scuderia F430
This one is for sale, and everything about this car is gonna be in the link in the description below. Art is one of the best guys in the business, and he knows these cars top to bottom. So if anybody would sell this car, especially this one-of-one car, it should be him.
Conclusion: Wrenching Every Day
On cars like these - that actually don't need any work at all, and are perfect - you guys need to wrench every day.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhow's it going guys my name is to varnish and welcome to a yet unnamed series in which I showcase some pretty awesome cars in my garage we put them on the lift to see what they're about and then I take them for a test drive so when I think of ferrari i think of stuffy rich guys that want their cars in their garages and only touched by the dealers this this 430 scuderia is a giant middle finger to all those people because this not only is a awesome car on its own this is the only manual 6-speed transmission in the world so if you knew the channel thank you so much for watching I really hope you enjoy it because this is a momentous occasion I have in my garage a Ferrari 430 scuderia and this one is the most special one in the world because it is the only one with a manual conversion these only came with the f1 flappy paddle gearbox so in order for this car to exist you have to do something that Ferrari owners would usually never do one you have to go somewhere other than the dealer and two you have to modify your very expensive very rare and very bespoke Ferrari and that is where my friend comes in is real buddy how you doing I'm gonna pretend like we didn't already spend the day together art owns European Auto Group out in San Antonio Texas and you are the mastermind behind this amazing car so I want you to go over what makes this car so special and then we're gonna put it on the lift if you don't mind yes sir okay you look you look at nervous we try not to reveal too much and a lot of guys have been asking you you know they're like tell us a little more so you know what we're gonna do that you're gonna tell you a lot why in f430 well actually this is not f430 I'm gonna get grilled in the comments it's a 430 scuderia why Scuderia so everybody knows these cars are I mean they're special it's the race car version street-legal racecar version of the f430 limited amount of these cars were made so this is a completely different platform than the f430 I mean the the race seats the carbon fiber panels the weight reduction the suspension I mean the ignition system the plasma ignition system completely different higher compression the exhaust they also changed on this car this is basically a completely new car yeah it's it's definitely a new car I mean it looks like a 430 because it means yeah 30 the body okay the body is largely the same other than some body kids and like some body modifications but when it comes to the inside the inside that there's there's not even carpets there's no sound deadening this is possibly the best supercar value that you can get today I think that the 430 and the Scuderia even for being as rare as it is because they only made around 500 of these cars right yeah that's the consistent consensus about official number right it always varies but the consensus on this car is that they made around 500 and then the 16 M which is the spider version they made around 500 of those as well right about that yeah yeah so it is a very rare car and these were how much money was this when it was new so brand-new I believe they were just sub 300,000 okay I think that's what it was yeah and they have retained their value remarkably well they have and I assume that well this one has retained its value and then some because is the only car with manual transmission and we'll get into the driving characteristics when I go for a drive but the manual transmission is the transmission itself is a little bit different from what you get in a in a regular car correct yeah so the base model f430 that transmission it's single synchromesh no other upgrades to that transmission the sf2 on the other hand when you say SF that means superfast superfast to transmit yeah so that's up to everybody I mean they they all use you've been spending too much time on Ferrari do that super fast to transmission it is a twin disc clutch triple synchro mesh beveled angled cuts on the internal four I'm gonna pretend like I know what that means but what that what I think that means is that it's essentially a manual transmission which is beefed up a lot so it can handle a lot of power with the twin disc and then have a lot of good engagement with the clutch so it's not gonna you know kill your left foot also allowed for the them to tune the computer the TCU for it to shift faster yeah which put less where on the on the transmission it's not fast could this thing shift but in the f1 60 milliseconds 60 milliseconds that's a pretty query fast come on okay that was very scientific how about this let's take this car let's turn around put it on the lift let's look underneath and see what makes this tick run hopefully not leak too much yeah well you know yeah well things happen that's right all right cool let's let's do that cool okay let's take a look at what we got dude this thing looks it well there's just a lot of room here I would have thought that there's like you know bracing and stuff there's just it's all open right turbo and Turbo okay so that's where turbos would go if this car had turbos but it didn't we would need to relocate that but that's not an issue this is the F 1 3 6 engine right up here and this is a dry sump correct it is yes so where's the where's a dry sump system like what does that look like is it like I think that's it so actually that's it's kind of weird and then the way they do it your oil filters right here and the dry sump actually runs through the transmission itself so you the actual stand is right on top of the trans your dip sticks right on top of the trans so everything is very compact and I think that they did that to not only save weight but also keep all the rotating mass very low down right so if you blow a clutch on the racetrack who you're replacing your engine oil as well really so so the engine oil and the transmission isn't the same thing right it's not the same thing it's separated so you actually have gear oil mm-hmm you have your ATF or your electronic well the heed if that gold you death yeah and then so actually this is part of the transmission you drain oil here is that transmission short or for the for the oil for the engine oil this is for the engine oil ok so coming down here so all the accessory belts are over here and this is what drives the alternator and AC and this one just has one two three sixty has two plus two timing belts but this one only has one so this is not something that you need to do the belt on or anything to set the time change machine right okay so awesome you don't need to do any engine outs well not a little edge except if your car blows up right yeah so then you don't do that don't do that yeah don't don't blow a car so this engine is pretty cool now what have you done to make this manual conversion a reality like what what needed to get done in this vicinity so you know this may be a delete or just some obviously these lines are not factory right well they're not they're not three but factory yes yeah yeah so these are your shift cables they go right through this tunnel right here and through the firewall and into the cabin okay you have to bring your clutch line from the front mm-hmm right here so this is the factory clutch line that we write from this point on they do have a part number that exists from here and then runs to the block on the side mm-hmm so that you know this engages the clutch but actually at ever since I did the the base model 430 I was like there's got to be an easier way yeah and also if you want to remove the transmission so you're not to bleed the clutch and stuff so after I deleted the hydraulic assembly here off the side I used some of those components to create my own clutch line oh really so you mate this is right so this is actually from the f1 hydraulic system here mm-hmm so I used this you kept the pressure sensor on there because I mean I mean it's not we don't need it we deleted that off the harness yeah I mean it just you know to make sense to keep it or put a banjo bolt right doesn't matter so we use this off the f1 system this is a Quick Connect so if I wanted to drop this transmission yeah I don't have to rebleed the clutch mhm that's all just quick disconnect but we keep pressure doesn't increase anywhere so I didn't do anything yeah so I mean if you're on the racetrack and you blow a clutch you want to remove the transmission I mean literally like to remove this transmission has nothing from the scud it's a couple bolts you drop the rear pan and the thing comes right out yeah so this is the transmission right here and it doesn't seem like it's it's that hard especially when you take off all the stuff from the back of the car you can see that it's it's pretty excessive even back here you don't even to take I mean you probably need to take a back bumper off or maybe you don't know it you can actually what you do is you take off the the dry sump system and it it slides just right out past this frame okay it's it's not too bad so where does all the f1 stuff live like where's the stock hydraulic components so this is a manual transmission mm-hm the hydraulic assembly sits here it ends right about here it's probably about this long and you have about 70 pounds worth of hydraulic hoses and wires and cables and stuff like that so you're doing even more weight reduction cuz this car has 200 something pounds off to f-14 220 and 250 so that comes off and then you're dropping about 60 to 70 pounds so it's a regional system so it's gonna be even faster right yeah that's that's a bit slower well it's gonna it's gonna shift slower but it's gonna be way more engaging 70 pounds makes up for that difference who knows we haven't tested that yeah are there any issues with you know replacing seals or anything like that did you run into any problems no honestly it's I mean it's it's all straightforward the transmission gets removed this collage I mean this car had 9,000 miles on it when we did the conversion so the clutch was actually still pretty beefy oh is that like 90% how long do these clutches usually last believe it or not versus the Lamborghini Gallardo is these clutches to last pretty long the Lamborghinis are horrendous when they have the e gear so I know the Ferraris a little bit better so this has let's go over some of the other parts of the car like the carbon ceramic brakes these are pretty beefy and were these really standard for the Scottish greenery oh yes they came they came with this car so unlike the McLaren's there's been a lot of issues with some carbon ceramics and just different different brands yeah I were fortunate enough that these are actually built pretty well yeah so they're not the fibers are not peeling off of the surface you know if you see some of the newer MacLaren's these days the guys are screaming they have issues well how much do they cost if you know you you mess up one of these rotors so this brake job complete all the way around quoted by the deal ship $30,000 parts and labor that seems off for coal that seems a little much it's it's much okay it's definitely can you put the 430 like steel brakes on here yeah so a lot of guys are just you know they're like I'm not gonna spend 30 grand on brakes and just put the steelies bag on okay Porsche guys are doing this yeah Porsche guys definitely do that Porsche guys buy it because they know that people want that resale but when they go out and drive it they get the steel ones this part that we took off a lot of people might not know what it is this is a carbon-fiber underbody panel because this entire underbody is flat so there's nothing that's open here to the elements and it's that way for a reason because the aerodynamics of the car play into it there are vents right here that those are for the various components for the engine and whatnot and yeah I mean this thing is it's it's an actual like race car it is a race car yeah yeah great legal racecar bed yeah and I mean the the axles are nice and beefy the the siskel have stock cats on it it does okay yeah I feel like you should take them off yeah let's take them off you got us all so let's go what's interesting about this whole frame is that it's it looks like it's cast aluminum and then it just welded into place with these big girders but one thing I notice is that the entire body it's one piece so let's say you get a car that's been hit in the back you're doing some major reconstruction because there's no subframe that comes off this is just one piece deck next to all the suspension right here it all bolts up and if this is torque to one side or shifted then you're gonna have you can have a real bad time so you added this part correct this is this is what you added a shifter mechanism yeah so this this is the shift box that goes on the side of the transmission that basically moves all the internal forks and everything like that so you know all these guys that are saying you sourced a transmission you sourced it no this is the transmission that came with this car yes so I mean technically you did source it for Ferrari because a car is a Ferrari so this source yeah yeah right technically the other is right and that's the best kind of right so this is actually great I love that you can still reuse a lot of the same opponents and then you just add to it and then you make the car better you you put shifter brackets and you put shifter linkages and it just makes the car better can I go for a drive yes I'm going for a drive all right I finally get the chance to drive this thing I'm so excited I'm also really really nervous gave me the keys they said I can go out on my own so let's start it up first of all take a look at this carbon fiber everything this is an actual race car you have the diamond plate down there you have the exposed welding and you have very little carpeting here but you do have these carbon back seats and they should be pretty pretty comfortable all right this is my first like hardcore Ferrari experience and I just boy okay he goes in the ignition and unlike most of my cars I don't just turn the key you have to press the clutch in and then press the start button so this carbon infused steering wheel is quite special it has a rev counter right here and it does go all the way up when you have to shift this manettino switch that actually does not work as of yet they have to code some stuff in the ABS module for this to work but if it did work or when it's gonna work it has a race mode sport mode has some traction control stuff some stability control stuff you can turn everything off but essentially what I'm doing right now is I'm driving in race mode I'm driving with no driver rates it's gonna be the most hardcore experience in this car imaginable especially because we have this manual transmission and this it just feels so good I'm not even moving and oh the shifting is just is just like butter so this has the superfast to transmission I'm gonna get into that a little bit later when we're on the road but if you look down here you have your AC controls you have a radio that I don't know why you would need a radio in this car and you also have the window switches and this is a little weird because can't roll the windows down at the same time unless you have very very large hands also no globe box just has this little pouch which is okay but that's not important right now let's turn the AC on all right and put on our seatbelts let's go for a drive okay first gear and that is super smooth clutch engagement oh wow I'm driving a Ferrari so here's a little secret about this car even though Ferrari did not make this car with a manual transmission the fact that this is actually a manual transmission now makes it the best manual Ferrari ever made and the reason why is because this has something called a super fast to transmission in the f1 version this could shift at 60 milliseconds that means that it's it's faster than the blink of an eye this is insanely fast in order for them to do that they had to put triple cones synchros in all the gears meaning that every shift it is really really smooth and when you give it a manual stick shift it makes things so much better yeah you get a little burble from that exhaust and those 500 horsepower come a lot this thing is absolutely insane so this car does have a few air lights because they have to code out those issues with the ABS but the car drives perfectly it has the perfect amount of power and everything works as it should and it sounds amazing that flat-plane 4.5 liter v8 is just it's intoxicating and I need more of that in my life now the manual itself is is another thing of beauty this whole thing this whole assembly was taken from an F 430 which is the base model but it's also tweaked a little bit they have their own special tweaks so this is actually a little bit of a short shifter and it gives it that much better feel so it feels it doesn't feel naughty but it feels almost rifle bolt ish oh yeah and the engine makes such a beautiful noise in the cabin it reverberates because there's no sound deadening it's definitely a race car loud in here I cannot stop smiling this is just intoxicating this gearbox is absolutely perfect my water is up flying around over there but it doesn't matter these ps4s tires are gripping so much and the chassis the chassis is great this 4.5 liter 500 horsepower engine it's all at the top so you have to really work for it but those shifts when you get the shifts right it's just the best thing in the world so this car is exactly what you think it is it's exactly like your first car except God's here it's at the end agree this is the first time you got that perfect shift we are on that perfect road with the perfect car this car is for all intents and purposes perfect every single downshift is an offense you get a little bit of pops and crackles from the exhaust but then just turns all that sound into speed this is absolutely the perfect car to be doing this and loves this this is this is just a dream I have to thank the guys at European Auto roofer showing me their amazing amazing car there we go there we oh good god deadpan I think I need to sell my Lambos and get one of these I think it's worth it I think it's so worth it that noise yes yes guys I'm know that that's that's that's it for me I think I think this is it this is the car this is the car I need I need to get an F 430 even a base-model because this is just it's just too good if you have the money to buy this car I don't but if you have the money to buy this car definitely do it this is this is the perfect manual transmission car there is no car that drives better than this one at least in my at least in my opinion guys that was amazing I I love I'm in love with this car this car is everything that I've ever wanted out of a manual transmission car and I know you guys wanted me to do a manual conversion on this car and that is coming up don't worry I have not forgotten about you this is one of the top priorities but I I think I'm gonna get one of these and not just an f430 I want to get a Scuderia so if you guys know of any that have been in say a fire or a crash or something that have some some value off their price then I'm really interested in this but I'm gonna stop rushing about this car I want to bring in this guy art thank you so much you know there's one for sale all right okay so this one this one is for sale and everything about this car is gonna be in the link in the description below art is one of the best guys in the business and they know these cars top to bottom so if anybody would sell this car especially this one of one car it should be him so I'm I'm probably not gonna buy it but everything well this is this is one of those call for pricing it's because again it's a 101 right and it just dry it drives amazingly it is the best driving car I've ever I've ever had with a manual transmission and that is I'm not joking about that so that's that's gonna be it everything for EAG for European Auto Group an auto group e a GS 80 X and gated six on instigated six on Instagram mmm-hmm check us out European Auto Group but until next time this is me reminding you that on cars like these that actually don't need any work at all and are perfect you guys need to wrench every day youhow's it going guys my name is to varnish and welcome to a yet unnamed series in which I showcase some pretty issues well how much do they cost if you know you you mess up one of these rotors so this brake job complete all the way around quoted by the deal ship $30,000 parts and labor that seems off for coal that seems a little much it's it's much okay it's definitely can you put the 430 like steel brakes on here yeah so a lot of guys are just you know they're like I'm not gonna spend 30 grand on brakes and just put the steelies bag on okay Porsche guys are doing this yeah Porsche guys definitely do that Porsche guys buy it because they know that people want that resale but when they go out and drive it they get the steel ones this part that we took off a lot of people might not know what it is this is a carbon-fiber underbody panel because this entire underbody is flat so there's nothing that's open here to the elements and it's that way for a reason because the aerodynamics of the car play into it there are vents right here that those are for the various components for the engine and whatnot and yeah I mean this thing is it's it's an actual like race car it is a race car yeah yeah great legal racecar bed yeah and I mean the the axles are nice and beefy the the siskel have stock cats on it it does okay yeah I feel like you should take them off yeah let's take them off you got us all so let's go what's interesting about this whole frame is that it's it looks like it's cast aluminum and then it just welded into place with these big girders but one thing I notice is that the entire body it's one piece so let's say you get a car that's been hit in the back you're doing some major reconstruction because there's no subframe that comes off this is just one piece deck next to all the suspension right here it all bolts up and if this is torque to one side or shifted then you're gonna have you can have a real bad time so you added this part correct this is this is what you added a shifter mechanism yeah so this this is the shift box that goes on the side of the transmission that basically moves all the internal forks and everything like that so you know all these guys that are saying you sourced a transmission you sourced it no this is the transmission that came with this car yes so I mean technically you did source it for Ferrari because a car is a Ferrari so this source yeah yeah right technically the other is right and that's the best kind of right so this is actually great I love that you can still reuse a lot of the same opponents and then you just add to it and then you make the car better you you put shifter brackets and you put shifter linkages and it just makes the car better can I go for a drive yes I'm going for a drive all right I finally get the chance to drive this thing I'm so excited I'm also really really nervous gave me the keys they said I can go out on my own so let's start it up first of all take a look at this carbon fiber everything this is an actual race car you have the diamond plate down there you have the exposed welding and you have very little carpeting here but you do have these carbon back seats and they should be pretty pretty comfortable all right this is my first like hardcore Ferrari experience and I just boy okay he goes in the ignition and unlike most of my cars I don't just turn the key you have to press the clutch in and then press the start button so this carbon infused steering wheel is quite special it has a rev counter right here and it does go all the way up when you have to shift this manettino switch that actually does not work as of yet they have to code some stuff in the ABS module for this to work but if it did work or when it's gonna work it has a race mode sport mode has some traction control stuff some stability control stuff you can turn everything off but essentially what I'm doing right now is I'm driving in race mode I'm driving with no driver rates it's gonna be the most hardcore experience in this car imaginable especially because we have this manual transmission and this it just feels so good I'm not even moving and oh the shifting is just is just like butter so this has the superfast to transmission I'm gonna get into that a little bit later when we're on the road but if you look down here you have your AC controls you have a radio that I don't know why you would need a radio in this car and you also have the window switches and this is a little weird because can't roll the windows down at the same time unless you have very very large hands also no globe box just has this little pouch which is okay but that's not important right now let's turn the AC on all right and put on our seatbelts let's go for a drive okay first gear and that is super smooth clutch engagement oh wow I'm driving a Ferrari so here's a little secret about this car even though Ferrari did not make this car with a manual transmission the fact that this is actually a manual transmission now makes it the best manual Ferrari ever made and the reason why is because this has something called a super fast to transmission in the f1 version this could shift at 60 milliseconds that means that it's it's faster than the blink of an eye this is insanely fast in order for them to do that they had to put triple cones synchros in all the gears meaning that every shift it is really really smooth and when you give it a manual stick shift it makes things so much better yeah you get a little burble from that exhaust and those 500 horsepower come a lot this thing is absolutely insane so this car does have a few air lights because they have to code out those issues with the ABS but the car drives perfectly it has the perfect amount of power and everything works as it should and it sounds amazing that flat-plane 4.5 liter v8 is just it's intoxicating and I need more of that in my life now the manual itself is is another thing of beauty this whole thing this whole assembly was taken from an F 430 which is the base model but it's also tweaked a little bit they have their own special tweaks so this is actually a little bit of a short shifter and it gives it that much better feel so it feels it doesn't feel naughty but it feels almost rifle bolt ish oh yeah and the engine makes such a beautiful noise in the cabin it reverberates because there's no sound deadening it's definitely a race car loud in here I cannot stop smiling this is just intoxicating this gearbox is absolutely perfect my water is up flying around over there but it doesn't matter these ps4s tires are gripping so much and the chassis the chassis is great this 4.5 liter 500 horsepower engine it's all at the top so you have to really work for it but those shifts when you get the shifts right it's just the best thing in the world so this car is exactly what you think it is it's exactly like your first car except God's here it's at the end agree this is the first time you got that perfect shift we are on that perfect road with the perfect car this car is for all intents and purposes perfect every single downshift is an offense you get a little bit of pops and crackles from the exhaust but then just turns all that sound into speed this is absolutely the perfect car to be doing this and loves this this is this is just a dream I have to thank the guys at European Auto roofer showing me their amazing amazing car there we go there we oh good god deadpan I think I need to sell my Lambos and get one of these I think it's worth it I think it's so worth it that noise yes yes guys I'm know that that's that's that's it for me I think I think this is it this is the car this is the car I need I need to get an F 430 even a base-model because this is just it's just too good if you have the money to buy this car I don't but if you have the money to buy this car definitely do it this is this is the perfect manual transmission car there is no car that drives better than this one at least in my at least in my opinion guys that was amazing I I love I'm in love with this car this car is everything that I've ever wanted out of a manual transmission car and I know you guys wanted me to do a manual conversion on this car and that is coming up don't worry I have not forgotten about you this is one of the top priorities but I I think I'm gonna get one of these and not just an f430 I want to get a Scuderia so if you guys know of any that have been in say a fire or a crash or something that have some some value off their price then I'm really interested in this but I'm gonna stop rushing about this car I want to bring in this guy art thank you so much you know there's one for sale all right okay so this one this one is for sale and everything about this car is gonna be in the link in the description below art is one of the best guys in the business and they know these cars top to bottom so if anybody would sell this car especially this one of one car it should be him so I'm I'm probably not gonna buy it but everything well this is this is one of those call for pricing it's because again it's a 101 right and it just dry it drives amazingly it is the best driving car I've ever I've ever had with a manual transmission and that is I'm not joking about that so that's that's gonna be it everything for EAG for European Auto Group an auto group e a GS 80 X and gated six on instigated six on Instagram mmm-hmm check us out European Auto Group but until next time this is me reminding you that on cars like these that actually don't need any work at all and are perfect you guys need to wrench every day you\n"
