Building a Website with Wix: A Beginner's Guide
Building a website is easier than ever, thanks to the numerous options available today. Most mainstream sites use CMS programs and themes, while there are also websites that let you use visual editors to place objects on your site pages without having to code at all. Today, we'll be showing you how to use one such site to build a beautiful website easily, Wix.com.
To get started, head to Wix.com and click "Start Now." Next, click "Sign Up" and enter in your information to create a free account. After that, it will ask you some questions on what you're trying to do and then help you narrow down some templates and features that might be pertinent to your business in particular. This step is crucial as it will help the website design process tailor to your specific needs.
Once you've completed this step, you'll be able to choose between using the Wix A.D.I. (Artificial Design Intelligence) or the regular Wix editor. The A.D.I. attempts to design the site for you based on your industry and allows you to make smaller changes beyond that. It's great for those who aren't terribly sure about designing the site and just want to get it up and running as soon as possible. With the A.D.I., you choose the industry, then type of site, answer whether you need to sell things, et cetera, then you choose a color scheme that you like and let it build the site homepage and theme from that.
One of the standout features of the A.D.I. is its speed. The pre-created designs look pretty good, and the customization is enough for anyone who just needs a web presence and doesn't necessarily have a designer on hand but wants something that looks great and works well quickly. You can go in and make changes to the site's color or font by clicking "Site Design" then "Customize." This will allow you to select from their predetermined colors and fonts to make those changes quickly across the entire site.
You can also click on any section of the site to get options specific to that section. For example, clicking on the header will give you options on social networks to add, if you want the header to stick to the browser window when someone is scrolling, et cetera. Clicking on another section might bring up what background image or title you want in that section. Clicking on the blog section will allow you to choose what blog posts are shown and in what way, et cetera.
Adding new sections to the pages works in much the same way as sections. You simply click "Add" then "Page," and then you choose from the options they have including a completely blank page if you want. You can then add sections to those pages just like you did on the home page. The A.D.I. version of Wix is not much else, but it's great for beginners who want to build a website quickly.
On the other hand, if you prefer to use the regular Wix editor, you'll have more control over your site. This editor allows you to design every aspect of your site from scratch. You can choose from a wide range of templates and customize them to fit your needs. The only downside is that it may take longer to build your website.
Regardless of whether you use the A.D.I. or the site editor, you can use Wix for free if you don't mind having Wix's ads on your site and having a Wix.com domain name for your site. However, this comes at a price as Wix offers several plans with varying prices. The basic plan starts at $10 a month, which includes unlimited bandwidth and a $3 ad voucher.
One of the standout features of Wix is its app market. This platform allows you to download hundreds of apps that can enhance your website's functionality. From e-commerce integrations to social media integration, there's an app for everything. The best part is that many of these apps are available for free, while others may be available for a small fee.
Wix also offers a range of paid plans, including the $14 plan which includes unlimited bandwidth and a $3 ad voucher. This plan is highly recommended as it provides all the features you need to build a website that looks good and is super functional. With this plan, you'll get a better domain name, more storage space, and priority customer support.
In conclusion, Wix is a great option for anyone who wants to build a website without having to code from scratch. Its user-friendly interface and range of templates make it easy to design a website that looks great and works well. Additionally, its app market offers hundreds of apps that can enhance your website's functionality. With its affordable pricing plans, Wix is the perfect solution for anyone who wants to build a website without breaking the bank.

text over there, et cetera. You start with this type ofsite by choosing a theme.Once editing the theme youcan click on just aboutany object in the theme toget options for that object.Change the header settingslike we did in the A.D.I.,change the menu navigation, but also change any of thetext or images on the page as well. And then, here's where it gets a bitmore involved than the A.D.I.You can then move theseobjects anywhere you want. And even add new objects byclicking on the Add buttonon the left. You can add and edit acrazy amount of items, from menus, sliders, subscriber forms, buttons, even pop otherphoto editing programand it's super handy. You can even animate objectssuper easily, something thattakes a lot of annoying coding normally. In addition to the freedom ofmoving object from the sitearound easily, Wix also hasan app market that allows youto add other functionality to the site.Things from a plug=in that lets youadd restaurant menus easily,to one that integratesFacebook comments on thesite, to one that allows youto create a private areaof your site that requiresa log-in for people toget to and a ton more. Most of these plug-ins arefree too, which is great, with some more complicatedones being availabe for$4.50, $1.99 et cetera. And there are some thatare actually included orat least have additionalfeatures if you upgradeto a paid or premium account.Regardless of whether you usethe A.D.I. or site editor, you can use Wix for freeif you don't mind Wix' adson the site and having a Wix.comdomain name for the site, which is similar to how, say, Wordpress.com works, but for $10 a month youcan remove the ads and getyour own domain and then at$14 a month, which is the planI would probably recommend, you get unlimited bandwidthwhich is the amount of datafrom people accessing your sitewhich is important ifyou plan to do any typeof decent traffic. You also, with this plan, get a $3 ad voucher, which is also nice. All in all, Wix has acrap-ton of features thanks tothose apps in the app marketand is super intuitiveand easy to use and formost people is going to beall you need to builda site that looks goodand is super functional for a cheap cost. There you go
