1000HP Hellcat Swap Viper Review - Breaking All the Rules

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: ensince the early 90s the Dodge Viper has had one single reputation sketchy it wasn't until the 5th gen Viper that people tended to get way more confident driving these insane monsters but how would you take a car that has a sketchy reputation and make it even more sketchy by putting in a thousand plus wheel horsepower Hellcat red eye engine into a Viper that's what you do so throttle.com for roadkill nights last year decided to take the cheapest Viper in the United States and put this Hellcat red eye engine in it and yes they had to pull out the V10 but that V10 to be honest is not as good as this red eye the V10 has instantaneous torque but the red eye is on a whole nother level but throttle was kind enough to give me the reins to this absolute insane Beast of a car and see if I could handle it so what's it like driving in a thousand horsepower red eye Swatch viper well I'll just tell you up front it's absolutely Wild foreign also before I go rip and dip this thing I just want to thank throttle one more time for letting me drive this Viper it would not be possible without them to make this content happen so I'm gonna give a quick shout out to their giveaway car which is this beautiful Audi S4 extremely Tastefully done rotiform Wheels airlift suspension and it's just a really nice Cruiser so if you're interested in trying to win this car go to the link in the description below and use my code you can get up to 15 off car parts on throttle's website and at the same time every dollar spent on throttle's website is an entry to win this beautiful Audi S4 but back to the video huge thanks to throttle and thank you guys for watching this video I extremely appreciate it hi welcome to one of the gnarliest cars I'm ever going to drive in my entire life this is throttle.com's Hellcat Redeye swapped Dodge Viper it's a 2001 and I know what you're gonna say why on Earth would you plant the V10 well to be honest that version of the V10 is less efficient than the red eye engine so you make a ton more power 800 horsepower plus right off the bat with a modern ECU modern computer modern fuel system the one in the 2001 is basically ancient so at the end of the day this is kind of on paper a better motor Choice even though it kind of is sacrilegious now what throttle did with this car is really spectacular all they had to do was fabricate the engine mounts themselves and also MagnaFlow made custom headers for this car all the way to the back with an exhaust but the car has Penske coilovers giant slicks in the back to make sure you get the most grip off the launch because this thing was made as a no prep racer for roadkill Knights back last year so the the point of that series was you got a Hellcat engine a red-eye engine and then you put it in a semi-modern Plymouth or Dodge of your choice and they chose the least expensive in the United States it's also got an ACT clutch and flywheel to the t-56 Magnum transmission so that was actually pretty natural because this car already had a t-56 in it so it has a Diablo tune in this to really get the max performance out of it and just to you know accommodate for the mods oh my God what am I doing so vipers have like some of the worst visibility out of any car ever made you can't see anything I am five foot eight and my head is almost hitting the roof it's also got American Racing forged two-piece wheels so one really annoying thing about the Viper is its pedal placement if you have normal sized feet you're gonna have a hard time unless you're very small I wear a size 11 and my shoes are hitting all three pedals with both feet so with my left clutch pedal it's almost overlapping with the brake pedal so it's a it's a little Annoying I've driven a first gen Viper all the way to riding in a 2200 horsepower calvo Viper unless you're in the 5th gen Viper they always feel kind of unsafe they just have this Aroma to them to the point that the first generation Viper 50 of owners totaled them 50 percent now if you guys don't remember the reason I was competing against this car was for roadkill nights and I had my Hellcat red eye swap Magnum which I'm going to fix very soon foreign but yeah my clutch blew up at the line so I never got to race this car also it has like this weird saddle interior or whatever they call peanut butter they call it peanut butter tea or every brand calls their Brown interior something different right oh my God oh my oh there it is so if you saw that my gas pedal foot excuse me my foot on the gas pedal was going for the brake pedal and I've left the gas pedal by accident okay so I feel like I've gotten pretty used to the car and uh throttle was kind enough to rent out this drag strip so I can go up and down and kind of get used to going up and down the strip Full Throttle I like driving cars on the street but today I'm very glad I'm not so to give you guys perspective this is what I looked like after I just did all the pulls I am tired so here's the pool footage okay helmet is on we're gonna go for it but first a few easy laps to get used to going into the power because it has instantaneous torque ah the pucker factor is so real in this thing my seatbelt's locking up it's like this was never supposed to be this way foreign temps are good everything's running smooth and as long as you have small inputs it feels as though I'm making it go pretty straight which is awesome foreign holy crap that was the scariest one there goes my camera holy oh there it goes again okay pucker factor nine thousand I'm glad I walked away from that one I'm not gonna lie to you I am so glad I have seat time and crazy crap or yeah someone would definitely hit the wall on this thing that's not being arrogant it's just oh my God yeah somebody could send this right to the wall right like that it's so unpredictable because that was the one time I didn't do a burnout either I was curious like yeah yeah it's still it's still good no I was wrong all right here we go this one let's go all right all right before I uh have an unfortunate event I think that's enough way yes I launched a freaking red eye Viper let's go throttles Hellcat red eye swap Dodge Viper what did you think of it put it down in the comment section below do you find it sacrilegious or do you find it a smart move let me know I'd love to hear you guys argue about this one and also huge thanks to throttle.com for inviting me out absolutely go check out the link in the description below because if you use my code you get a discount on car parts up to 15 off so make sure to head to throttle and I really appreciate you guys watching this today and seeing my journey and I will see you guys next time take it easy have a
