As pressure builds, Apple says sorry and offers $29 battery replacements

It's Friday, December 29th, and Apple has finally bowed to the pressure and is offering owners of older and now apparently slower iPhones a $29 option to get their batteries replaced and get their phones performance back up to like new speeds. But wait, that's not all - Apple posted a detailed explanation on their site about why phones slowed down, which can be read in full here: [link]. The article also explains that the reason for this slowness is due to the aging of the battery.

Apple has also added a resource page about batteries to their website, where users can learn more about how batteries work and how they affect the performance of their phones. In addition, Apple stated that in the future iOS update, there will be more visibility into the health of an iPhone's battery and its performance levels. This is exciting news for users who are curious about the performance of their devices.

The discounted out-of-warranty battery replacement program will start in late January and will run through essentially all of 2018. So, if you're due for a new battery, don't rush to the Apple Store just yet - check back in January to see if it's available. In other news, Xbox one and Xbox one S owners can now breathe a sigh of relief - their consoles are finally topped with games! But what could make them even better if they were top-tier media playing boxes as well? While the Xbox can do a fair amount of things, including play Blu-ray movies and such, its capabilities have been greatly expanded with the release of the Kodi app for the Xbox one. Kodi is a third-party app that lets the Xbox basically play all kinds of media - it lets you add apps that Microsoft might frown on, such as Kodi.

For example, Kodi can work as a cable box and decode cable channels. You can also turn your Xbox into a DVR and it can play a long list of media types from those external drives you have with all your ripped DVDs and that stuff you got from somewhere. So, yeah, pretty versatile! However, it does have its limitations. For more information on the Kodi app page and explainer, visit our site here: [link].
