Real Mechanic Reacts to Fast & Furious

**The World of Fast Cars and Racing**

When it comes to high-performance vehicles, speed and agility are key. In this article, we'll take a closer look at some of the most impressive cars on the road, from their technical features to their real-life racing applications.

One of the most effective ways to lean your mixture for more power is by pulling the vacuum line on the waste gate. A vacuum leak may seem like an ineffective way to increase power, but it can be a surprisingly effective technique. However, using this method comes with its own set of risks, as it can lead to running super lean and causing the engine to overheat.

**The Racing Scene in Cuba**

Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with the specifics of the racing scene in Cuba. My favorite part of the racing world is yet to come, which brings us to a particularly thrilling clip from one of the Fast & Furious movies. The ninth installment of the franchise features an impressive display of speed and skill, as the characters take on high-stakes racing challenges.

In one memorable clip, Vin Diesel's character is seen getting out of his car with ease, only to be confronted by a rival driver who reveals himself to be operating a massive jet-powered RC car. The sheer scale of this vehicle is awe-inspiring, and it's hard not to feel a sense of wonder at the ingenuity that went into creating it.

**High-Speed Stunts and Practicality**

When it comes to high-speed driving, safety and practicality are often overlooked in favor of excitement and spectacle. In one notable scene from Fast Five, the characters attempt to steal a massive vault while navigating treacherous city streets. The result is a thrilling display of speed and agility, with the characters expertly maneuvering their cars through tight spaces.

However, as we watch this clip, it's hard not to feel a sense of skepticism about the practicality of such stunts. I mean, how much horsepower would you need to move an object weighing 20,000 pounds? It's like trying to hook up your car to a jet engine – it just doesn't seem like something that could be done in real life.

**Fast & Furious Franchise**

As the Fast & Furious franchise continues to evolve and grow, it's hard not to get caught up in its excitement and energy. From high-speed chases to elaborate stunts, these movies offer an unparalleled adrenaline rush for fans of car culture.

And yet, despite their impressive displays of speed and skill, there are moments when the films' technical errors become too much to bear. Whether it's a poorly executed stunt or a moment where the laws of physics seem to bend in favor of Hollywood's creative license, these movies can be hard to take seriously at times.

**The Power of Car Culture**

Despite its flaws and inaccuracies, the Fast & Furious franchise has earned a reputation as one of the most beloved and enduring car culture brands of all time. From their iconic cars to their larger-than-life characters, these films have captured our imaginations and inspired countless fans around the world.

So what is it about car culture that speaks to us so deeply? Is it the thrill of speed and competition? The passion for design and engineering? Or something more profound?

For me, it's all of the above. When I'm watching a film like Fast Five or analyzing a high-performance vehicle like the Pontiac Fiero strapped with a rocket engine, I feel a sense of connection to the world of car culture that goes beyond mere entertainment.

**Conclusion**

As we conclude this article, I hope you've enjoyed our journey into the world of fast cars and racing. From their technical features to their real-life applications, these vehicles are truly awe-inspiring.

Whether you're a seasoned car enthusiast or just a fan of high-speed thrills, there's something for everyone in the world of car culture. So what do you want to see next? Do you have a favorite car model or racing challenge that you'd like us to critique?

WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwe love the Fast and Furious franchise here at donut and we've had our own critiques about this franchise oh my God it's insane doesn't make any sense that's why she's spitting yeah yeah but we want to know what a real mechanic real mechanic real mechanic thinks of these films So today we're going to watch some scenes from The Fast franchise we're going to decide if they ever got it right or Vin Diesel should never work in this town againto welcome to Donut welcome to Donut welcome to Donut yes first place yeah okay Nolan I'd be winning too if I had some big fancy equipment like you do this isn't expensive it's to A's sponsor thrustmaster if you have a PS5 you can pre-order their allnew t128 for just $199.99 that's pretty cheap for a NextGen wheel that lets you feel every bump in the road every Collision full we of the car oh yeah I saw those speed LEDs that thing's got to be at least Le 500 bucks actually it's $199.99 even with the engine speed LEDs yeah but then when you add in that super responsive magnetic enhanced pedals that makes it at least what $600 $700 nope $199.99 next gen force feedback engine speed LEDs magnetic enhanced pedal set $199.99 enough how dare you sit in that thrustmaster Throne of Lies there's no way anyone on this planet can buy a nextg wheel with those feed Fe plus a pedal set for $199.99 I'm not lying you can pre-order right now at GameStop or just click the link below oh why didn't you say that $.99 that's a deal yeah all right I forgive you time Jacob you're a new face to the channel real mechanic what are your creds built a lot of cars in La all mitubishi evos I am Crew Chief and spotter for my son who was a pro one formula drif driver Dylan Hughes Dylan Hughes look him up I'm an ASC Master Certified mechanic and I teach Automotive at Riverside City College what's your opinion on these films I've seen them all do I remember them all no I might not have been a mechanic if I never saw the first fast and furious thanks Dom their respect is good enough for me I think they're very entertaining but I think they're lacking a lot of factual information to to back up what they're trying to do that about covers it thanks for watching uh let's start off with Fast and Furious one The Fast and the Furious this is where Dom challenges Brian to a final race famous burnout wheelie I used to drag here back in high school drag in high school on green I'm going for it the car's worth so much money now I remember watching this as a kid being like yeah yeah okay so what we have here is this Challenger it has so much torque that it can pull a wheelie but it's also while it's burning doing a burnout I've seen a lot of people do wheelies they don't do a burnout on a wheelie and if they do like it's not going straight in order to get the wheelie going you have to have Traction in order to make the weight transfer youd have to be able to pull it up and then do a burnout right and then but then you're not pulling the wheelie anymore because you're not balanced so then was slammed out this thing's going forward pulling a wheelie while doing a burnout physics says no it just doesn't make a lot of sense actually I have a very good friend that has a 69 Dodge Charger like that and he couldn't do wheelies on it I know he made a truckload of horsepower with his car I live my life a quarter mile at a time let's look at that engine blowing uh blowing look at that that's something blowing out the side of the engine block that's like right where your piston and rod assembly is he blew right out the side of the block and kept going shifted a gear shifted into 10th gear your engine is shutting down and it's going to be spitting Parts all over the street so it's not going to be going anywhere anymore you don't continue to race yeah you're done you don't continue to try to beat a train this is Hollywood yeah I'm not I'm not buying that Hollywood should take it to the drst this is Hollywood baby knows it doesn't matter what's under a hood all right this next one you guys know this is like the quintessential phrase biggest meme from the first movie it's definitely one of the most quoted and a character didn't even say the quote freaking computer it we're of course talking about danger to manifold danger to manifold danger to manifold we took the laptop out of Dylan's drift car it was too distracting yeah yeah if he would have got a start like that in a real drag race it's over right yeah I especially like that car should be all whee drive so doesn't really going to do that you been in an RX7 FD I thought you were going to ask me if I've ever been in a Minaj this thing really got my we yeah this was tight for the amount of time they've been driving at 140 m per hour there's still Spectators lining the streets longest drag strip in LA right here danger to manifold it was not ready for stage two oh what is it shooting out the floorboard why does the floorboard come down bolts are falling out of his glove box the floor falls out I'm trying to figure out what the correlation to the NOS button is he hit the NOS blow your intake manifold Y and then naturally your floor falls out right all the time okay so a so his laptop's hooked into his car and it's running some sort of diagnostic that says hey stage one complete whatever the that means and that you're ready to shoot your NOS yep I don't know what he's doing on the laptop to make stage one complete like there are parameters that would be set for you to be like okay it's time to hit the nitrous but I'm sorry NS you don't need foreplay to shoot NOS that stuff happens in like milliseconds it's all controlled through the ECU and it's it's nothing that you would be messing with while you're actually in the process of drag racing to be driving on this highway and like doing this at the same time it's hard like it's nearly impossible how the hell does your computer know if the manifold is bad you know this the manifold sensor in the real world you can get a nitrous backfire which will like blow up your intake manifold but there isn't any way that you're going to have some kind of a warning system that's going to let you know that that could potentially happen somebody should get kicked out of town but I don't know who we're kicking Vin Diesel out of Hollywood man I think Vin's going gone I don't have friends I got family this next one is also from the first movie lety was my hero that's who I wanted to be when I grew up lety it's your fuel man it's got a nasty hole that's why you're unloading in third I told you was third sh injected pulse another millisec just tune the NOS time with your R KN fuel mapping is definitely something that we deal with um on a regular basis with a competition car saying that you have a hole in your mapping is probably indicating that you either have a rich spot or a lean spot which is causing less than ideal engine performance it's a very wordy way to say what he's trying to say a nasty hole um I've never heard that term used uh by any tuners I like the fancy jargon though I mean that's better than danger to manifold I think they just hired the guy from the street and said yo what do you think sounds good it's carbon fiber hood yeah man it's got mad downforce it's not the most ridiculous part of this movie like you said wordy weird way to phrase it but I would say legit absolutely we talking or we racing our next clip is from Too Fast Too Furious it's not a popular opinion but this one's the best movie the first team back here with the package will have an opportunity to work for me it's a Race Across Miami to work for some dude we got a different mix of stuff this time that's the ugliest Mitsubishi Eclipse ever put on film I love all the cars that never came to the us too you know I know that's the best that was a cool thing about these movies okay so they're on the highway Brian pulls the E bra spins the car around throws it in reverse gives him the bird crazy ass white boy oh how can your car go fast backwards no unfortunately my car is pretty darn slow in Reverse I've owned I've driven built a lot of evos Gone In Reverse quite a bit not anywhere over you know 10 m hour because it seems like it's already screaming it's not going to shift it's one gear and that's it it's like first gear it's actually usually shorter than first gear so imagine going 80 M hour in first gear essentially not happening but he is is going highway speeds rips it throws it in reverse he's passing people he's passing and they're on the highway people can't even drive a car 5 mes hour backwards cuz it's very difficult to control because the steering from the rear is very odd I have a hard time driving forward more than 5 miles hour I'm not buying that one Vin Diesel yeah Vin Diesel you're going to jail I know that's that's not that's not the gimmick of this video he's not even in this movie and he's catching a stay for this still a buster our next clip is from the fate of the Furious Dom's living in Cuba which is tight his cousin's in a bit of a pickle he's about to get his car taken away from him and we're going to see him make a little modification to his car to make it go a little faster I appreciate what you try to do my car is the slowest car on the island was okay let me just tear all this stuff off of it if it ain't the motor take it off laughing us nah fed this is Cuban Nas you guys are crazy Cuban Nas what are you doing Poor Man's turbo pull the vacuum line hold on Old check the bus you used to play in case of emergencies you know that's way too much boost for that engine it's going to be fast it's going to be a bomb so he said poor man's turbo pull the vacuum line and hold on it's got a turbo on it with a waste gate the vacuum line which controls the wastegate to turbo if you pull that you have no waste gate and you can spool the turbo up more if he's pulled the vacuum line on the waste gate yeah technically I guess that would work a vacuum leak is not a very effective way to lean your mixture to try and get more power and then just cuz you're getting all that extra air you're now running super super lean which is making things hotter let's see if this works it's over 240 any carburet engine does not like to be above like 190 it works like he just shot NS on there like it was like I'm surprised he didn't do a wheelie burnout I'm not sure what the racing scene in Cuba is like my favorite part is yet to come on fire on fire in Reverse it's like they took fast one and fast two and like let's do the craziest not really realistic entertainment wise that's the Pinnacle that is great winning in reversed engine on fire a little speed boost at the end come on that's great that's great but Vinnie get out of here V diesel get out of town this time it ain't just about being fast this next clip is from a film I actually haven't seen it's from the ninth fast the the ninth nine of these movies oh my God y'all seen 10 second cars I'll say hello to the two car Fier with a jet engine I didn't realize that was an option is that a Pontiac Fiero strapped to a rocket engine impressive I know no no that's not impressive is that a in the background they must be back in Cuba oh so it's an RC car that's so funny why are you doing a burnout correct me if I'm wrong but the way that a jet pass thing works it wouldn't do a burnout I mean if you're putting a rocket on that thing you don't need the engine that's already in there so basically it's just like a cart that's carrying a jet engine yes a it's like you know 10 lb 5 lb B that thing wasn't like squatting it wasn't like any heavier in the back but it you know it looks like there's a house in the back and my biggest peeve is no fpv goggles on this thing cuz how does he drive the car yeah yeah be hard to do like line of sight kind of like boy Hollywood has a way of taking something that's kind of believable and making it just not quite so believable ride or die remember this next clip is from Fast Five uh one of the better films in this series it's the climax of the film they've stolen a very large object and I'll just leave it at that doesn't like the Rock have one of those yeah yeah you're going to hook a vault up to their Dodges they're already doing a burnout so they can't pull it out they have no grip hell yeah oh the whole vault is going the whole Vault yeah not just the door oh yeah it's a little much for those little Chargers is this the car that you would choose to tow a bank B no you need like a coming you know like a truck something that's meant to tow same reason people don't like tow boats or trailers or anything with dodg horsepower is one thing but if you have like you know 265 tie right M and that thing weighs like you know 20,000 lbs probably is just going to do a burnout it's like you know hooking your car up to a jersey barrier that is spectacular yeah I just can't even fathom what a a bank vaal would weigh and how much horsepower it would take to move it let alone swing it around the streets like that yeah I would need like four British Challenger tanks or whatever thing I'm not buying it yeah Vin Diesel you're out of here it don't matter if you win by an inch or a m started kind of crazy and just got worse from there if you can put aside the technical errors I think and just enjoy it for what it is which is just Car Guy entertainment I I think they're they're worth watching their respect is good enough for me thank
