Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Gaming Review & Temp Check after Gaming

**Gaming with the Samsung Note 4: A Review**

As I began testing the Samsung Note 4's gaming capabilities, I noticed that it was around 38°C to Max, which is not very hot. I wanted to continue and test its performance over a period of time. It had been about 10 minutes since we started gaming, and I didn't notice any major heating issues with this device compared to others I've used in the past.

I decided to move on to another heavy game, Modern Combat 5, which was also around 38°C on the screen and back when it registered. The graphics on this game were actually pretty good, and I could play it without any significant heating issues. However, as the gameplay progressed, I started to feel a little warmth near the camera portion of the device.

Despite the slight warming up, I was impressed with how well the Note 4 handled Modern Combat 5's demanding graphics. It played smoothly, and I didn't notice any noticeable frame drops or lagging. However, when we moved on to another heavy game, Monarch Advanced, which involved a chopper and intense combat sequences, I did notice that near the earpiece, it was getting slightly warm.

After completing both levels, I took out my trusty thermometer to check the temperatures once again. The device's screen had touched 40°C near the earpiece, but when looking at the back of the device, it read around 37°C. While not extremely hot, it was noticeable that the device was getting warmer with continued gaming.

To put this into perspective, other Android phones I've used in the past can reach temperatures of up to 46-47°C, which makes them highly uncomfortable for extended gaming sessions. However, with the Note 4's Snapdragon variant, I didn't experience any significant overheating issues.

I decided to check another device that was also streaming video at the same time as my gaming test. The other device registered around 34.5°C on the screen and back, which is significantly cooler than the Note 4. This further reinforced my initial observations about the Note 4's temperature management.

Finally, I moved on to playing Modern Combat 5 again after a short break, expecting that the temperatures might drop slightly. However, when we started playing, I noticed a slight warming up near the earpiece and at the back of the device. Despite this, the game played smoothly without any noticeable frame drops or lagging.

To sum up my experience with the Note 4's gaming capabilities, it can handle demanding games like Modern Combat 5 without significant heating issues. However, as I continued to test its limits, I noticed that temperatures did rise slightly, especially near the earpiece. Nevertheless, this is not a cause for concern, considering that other Android phones can reach even higher temperatures.

One of the notable features of the Note 4's storage capacity is the 32GB internal storage, which allows users to install multiple games directly on the device. This is a significant advantage over devices with limited storage space.

In conclusion, my gaming experience with the Samsung Note 4 was largely positive, with smooth performance and minimal heating issues. While it may not be the best choice for extreme gaming sessions, it can handle demanding games like Modern Combat 5 without major issues.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhi there this is ranit and I have the Note 4 with me and in this video we'll be doing the gaming review and I'll also test the temperatures and see after extensive gaming does the Note 4 heat up and actually I have two Note 4s so what I'll do is on this other Note 4 uh we'll just uh run a YouTube video that I'll stream and we'll let it run while we are gaming to see if it heats up with just casual browsing for example let me show you as you can see uh the screen temperatur is just around 31° C and if you go towards the back again it's around 31° C so uh let's just let me open this video and we'll run this video and we'll continue the gaming I'll just keep this phone aside as you can see the video is streaming and we'll start with uh actually heavy games we won't uh Play Casual games because note is a pretty powerful device uh so let's start with Real Racing 3 and and the Note 4 that is being officially sold in India is the Snapdragon 805 variant which has a quad core processor and comes with 3 gigs of RAM and has the adreno GPU so let's start uh Real Racing and before that let me actually show you the temperatur as you can see it's around 32° C on the screen and on back it's around 34° C so let's do some gaming and we'll check the temperatures later on so this is Real Racing 3 and you just tilt uh the device to steer along I'll change the camera angles and though the Note 4 just has a single speaker uh it's actually pretty loud and let me change the angles again and as you can see you can see the rear view mirror that means all the graphics are getting rendered I just prefer this angle let me change the camera angles again there was a slight jerk when I was changing the camera angles we did complete so that was Real Racing 3 and it's been just about five odd minutes since we are gaming uh let's look at the temperatures now and as you can see we are touching about 36° C and on the back again around 35° C uh let's actually look at the other device also in which this looping video was running and this is just around 33° CI it's the temperature did not increase significantly let's just continue and we'll now play uh what do you say let's kill all the apps and we'll play uh asphal 8 now so this is asphal 8 and by default uh the graphic settings let me actually show you uh were at medium but now I have kept it to high graphics settings and I'm going to use the onc screen steering so let's do some gaming with asphal 8 now so the this is Asal 8 and I'm using the on screen staring controls and we are at the highest Graphics settings trying the drift and it's actually running it pretty well as you can see I'm doing the drifts Etc and as you can see it's able to handle this Asal 8 at high graphic settings also pretty well let's just continue and if you were worried that the Note 4 just has has a single speaker don't be worried uh cuz it's actually pretty loud I noticed a little bit of stuttering there frame drops I would say stuttering as you can see minor uh this not 4 has a Quad HD display that's that means it's higher than 1080p almost a 2K display again uh the game play is smooth but yeah again I noticed a little bit of uh drop frames there uh for the most part I would say the game play is nice but at least on this level I noticed some frame drops when there was a lot of action but it's not happening all the time so let's just continue and move to the next level and see how it behaves and let's also play this uh Tokio level and it's been around 10 minutes since we are gaming and again as you can see uh it's around 37° C here near the earpiece it's a little bit warm but nothing hot I would say uh let's look at the back and here also it's around 38° to Max it register uh so not very hot let's continue and though it's been around 10 minutes since we are gaming uh I do not notice any major heating that I used to do with some other device but let's see how it does after about 10 more minutes and here in this level I am not noticing any lagginess at least as of now and uh on this level it's actually playing very well did not know there's any frame drop still now so looks like for as fans uh it will play it actually very well uh I don't know in the earlier level uh I did notice some frame drops but it's not evident on this level so let's just get out of this and uh move to another heavy game that's Modern Combat 5 and it's been 15 minutes since we are gaming so let's look at the temperatures now and here it's around 38° C and on the back uh it's again around 37° C so not very hot let's get out of this one and let's check this other device also it's been 15 minutes since we are streaming this video and this is uh now registering about 34.5 de C on the screen and on the back again around that 34° c so not hot at all I would say so let's uh try what do you say uh now Modern Combat 5 this is Modern Combat 5 let's go so continuing with Modern Combat 5 and uh we'll play this level and see and the graphics on this Modern Combat 5 are actually pretty good it's a paid game strike two this is Monarch advaned to extraction point B over you heard it come on I'm noticing that near the camera portion there is it's I feel a little bit of heat there but again we look at the temperatures after completing this level it's not very hot but it's getting I feel like it's getting a little bit warm now take it out oh so let's continue we've got compy keep on Chopper and in one com back fight till now I haven't noticed any drop frames on anything like that so it's playing it actually pretty well at least till now keep on firing godam it I think we're in the clear oh hit it back up is on the way hold tight oh I need imedi backup and still no droppage of frames or anything it's handling it very well they're all over us we back up now so we are done with this one also this level is done and I did not notice any drop frames and it's been just around 20 minutes since we were gaming uh so let's look at the temperatures now and as you can see on the screen it touched around the 40° C near the ear piece and if but if you go down it's not that hot it's around 37° C uh let's look at the back here again uh about 39° C so yes it is getting slightly warm but nothing nothing to be alarmed about so yes as you can see it is getting slightly warm but not hot at all I would say some of the other Android phones uh go up to about 46 47° C which make them highly uncomfortable for gaming but at least with this note 4 a Snapdragon variant that we using that was not the case uh let's look at the other Note 4 also uh still the video is streaming and it's been about 20 minutes now so let's look at this one and as you can still see uh this one is relatively cool just around 35° C near the GE piece 35.6 was the Max and down actually it's a lot lower 32° cus and on the back about 34° C so uh the Note 4 actually does not heat up that much and I have been using this note 4 for about 12 odd days and uh I never experienced any overheating with this device as of now with my normal U scenarios so what do I feel about the gaming with the Note 4 yes it can play a lot of heavy games but uh at least with asphalt8 in one level I did notice some frame skip AG maybe uh the game needs to be optimized for this device but as we have seen with the Modern Combat 5 which is again a very heavy game it could play it without any issues another good thing with the Note 4 is that we get the Note 4 with 32 gigs of internal storage so that way you can install a lot of games directly on the device so that's it for now for this gaming review of the Note 4 I've also posted several other videos on the Note 4 links for those videos will be in the YouTube show notes thanks for
