The New Apple AirPods: A Review of Alternatives
As I sit here, moving my head to test the new Apple AirPods, I have to say that they feel and look like toothbrushes. These are just some toothbrush heads that you pretty much stick in your ear, which is so gross. The thing that scares me about 'em is someone could come walk by and just take one out of your ears. That's how disconnected they are from actual cords.
With that being said, there is an alternative for just $20 that kinda does the same thing. I found it to be legit, and let's check it out. So, I think we can all agree that the new AirPods look and feel like toothbrushes, these are just some toothbrush heads, that you pretty much stick in your ear, which is so gross. Drop a like if you've heard of the AirPods or if I'm just crazy.
These are Bluetooth AirPods, or kind of an EarPod AirPod kinda hybrid. So, it comes with this nice canvas pouch, that's cool, looks a little bit something like this. It's kinda still wireless but it's kinda not, so cool. And then we also get some earhooks, which I freaking love. So, you don't really have to worry if someone's going to take them.
You at least have some more security, a little bit more security, and they're just a little bit more comfortable in your ear. So, what the big deal is, these are $22 bucks, they're like your regular EarPods that come with your phone, and they're wireless, so that's awesome. And these also come with your phone. These are $30 if you lose them.
They have the lightning tip. That's fine if you lose either one of these, but if you lose the AirPods, the Bluetooth, that's gonna kinda sting. That's not a replaceable amount of money for a lot of people including myself. So, I feel a lot more comfortable with these and a Bluetooth.
You recharge these with a micro USB cord. They last for like a few hours. Let's go ahead and power these on. And it's connected right to my phone, it's the F6. That's sweet. Alright, let's find a good track to play. Alright, so it plays music (upbeat music). And it's wireless.
Let me just flip this around here. I have so many room for activities. Could like swim with thenew iPhone being waterproof. I think these are somewhat waterproof. Could like dance, whoo! Can we raise volume? Oh, well, that's loud. These sound pretty good, guys.
Got room to dance and do stuffs. It does kinda hang a little bit like I got an earring, but it's pretty good, sounds great. There's this clip that can at least take some of the weight off. Yeah, I like 'em a lot, they're pretty comfy. So, that was great, but if you want a little bit more of an enhanced experience, take these ear hooks here.
Gotta find the right one. These'll hold them in your ear a little bit better, and the whole big reason why I'm making this video, besides the fact that the actual AirPods are $160, which isn't cheap. If it was like 100 bucks, I'd understand, but if someone's just walking on the street, they could easily take one of the AirPods right outta your ear, and then you're kinda screwed.
But if you have these air hooks or ear hooks, as I'm callin' 'em, just made up my own word, stick 'em in your ear, and at least you have some more security, and it's got friction, so if someone comes by and tries to take one out of your ear, they have to really pull. And then this cord comes with it, so I'd rather have them on my neck than even on my body at all.
So, yeah guys, that's pretty much it for the AirPod knockoffs. They sound pretty good, definitely worth the money. That's pretty much gonna do for this video.
