Welcome to "Made in Japan"! Today, we're going to make our own custard pudding using a unique combination of ingredients and a special plastic container from the Japanese company, Chis Cris Suit.
As we begin, we notice that our pudding powder comes with a short stubby spoon and a bowl. The first step is to empty the pudding powder into the cup. We carefully pour the contents of the container into the bowl, making sure not to spill any.
Next, we're instructed to add water to the fill line on the bowl. But instead of using a measuring cup, we'll use a measuring bag to get an accurate amount. We hold the bag over the fill line and tilt it until the desired amount is reached. Then, we take our spoon and start stirring the mixture.
As we stir, the pudding powder starts to dissolve, and the smell of vanilla cake batter fills the air. It's a familiar scent that instantly transports us back to childhood memories of baking with mom or enjoying a Jello pudding cup from a store. The cream is added next, but it's not just any cream – it's a thick frosting-like consistency that catches us off guard.
We continue stirring for 3 minutes, waiting patiently for the mixture to thicken and take on a more pudding-like consistency. Finally, after what feels like an eternity, we get our answer. The pudding has transformed into a delicious-looking custard, with a smooth and creamy texture that's sure to please even the most discerning palate.
Now it's time to add the finishing touches – a drizzle of caramel syrup on top of the pudding. We carefully pour the syrup over the custard, watching as it creates a beautiful layer of color and flavor on the surface. It looks almost too good to eat, but we know that with this combination of vanilla, custard, and caramel, it's going to be a taste sensation like no other.
The moment of truth arrives as we take our first bite. The initial reaction is surprise – the flavors are indeed intense, and the texture is unlike anything we've ever experienced before. It's a bit violent on the palate, with a sweetness that's both familiar and yet, somehow, new. We can't help but wonder what other combinations of ingredients might create similar magic.
As we continue to savor our custard pudding, we start to appreciate its unique qualities. The syrup is reminiscent of those little custards you find at Japanese restaurants, but with a layer of caramel on top that elevates the experience to new heights. It's not just a sweet treat – it's an adventure for the taste buds.
We can't help but think about how much fun this would be as a kid, opening up a container and enjoying a homemade pudding made by mom or someone else. And now, with just a little bit of water and some basic ingredients, we've created something truly special. But we also wonder – is it nutritious? Are there any milk or dairy products in this Nao pudding? The mystery only adds to the allure.
So, if you're looking for a unique dessert experience that's both fun and delicious, be sure to give this Chis Cris Suit custard pudding a try. With its affordable price point of around 60-75 Yen (50-65 USD), it's an absolute steal. And who knows – you might just discover a new favorite flavor combination.
That's all for today on "Made in Japan." Thanks for joining us on this culinary adventure, and we'll see you next time!
