KeyCool 87 Keyboard Review _ With HERO key-caps!!!

The Kyol 87 Rainbow Hero Edition: A Unique Keyboard Experience

As I sat down to review the Kyol 87 Rainbow Hero Edition, I couldn't help but feel that this keyboard was going to be one of the most interesting ones we've reviewed on our channel. Not because of its shape or switch type, but because of the bold and colorful rainbow backlight with a different color per row. This unique design element has garnered attention from many users, who are eager to experience something new and different.

The Kyol 87 Rainbow Hero Edition is available for under $1100, making it an affordable option for those looking to add some personality to their workspace. The keyboard's TK layout is the same as our current favorite, Nova Touch TKL, which means that the transition from our primary keyboard to this one won't be too drastic. Additionally, its excellent format makes it perfect for gaming and travel purposes.

The Kyol 87 Rainbow Hero Edition features thick rubber pads at the bottom that stabilize the keyboard on any surface, as well as rubber razors that angle the cable management strip to route the cable for either side or the center of the desk. While these features may seem like minor details, they demonstrate the attention to detail that has gone into designing this keyboard.

One area where I have some concern is with the connection itself. Some users have reported issues with the connection being faulty upon arrival or deteriorating over time under the Caps key. This is a major issue that needs to be addressed by Kyol in order for us to fully recommend their product.

The keyboard features Kale switches, which are known for having a fairly good reputation but also appear on more affordable keyboards to keep prices down. However, this is somewhat mitigated by the amazing keycap design that accompanies these switches. The keycaps are laser-edged around the perimeter, aside from standard lettering, providing each key with an awesome illumination for extra highlights.

Many users have requested a separate set of just the keycaps, as they are MX Cherry compatible and feature excellent detail. Even the space bar has the same level of edging, which is visible due to the placement of the LED under the switch. It's this attention to detail that shows Kyol puts a lot into their product.

When it comes to lighting, I have mixed feelings. On one hand, I was hoping for full RGB spectrum given the rainbow design, but on the other hand, having each row with its own color creates a unique effect. However, since you cannot change the color of the rows, this may not be ideal for everyone. It's somewhat polarizing, and I still can't quite get used to it.

Fortunately, the keyboard does have some effects built into it, such as a waveform shooting out lighting from each pressed key that can be hypnotic when typing. However, there is also a snake mode that moves down from left to right, which unfortunately doesn't build upon itself and is found completely useless by me. There is also another effect called "highlight only press keys with immediate cut off," but it would have been even better if this illumination were to fade slowly after the button was pressed.

Fortunately, the keyboard does come equipped with a few extra features that make customizing your lighting experience easier. For instance, you can adjust brightness using function keys and numbers lines, create custom lit areas for five profiles spanning from 2 to 6 by cycling through function + 1, or use function + 7 to change the brightness of these profiles. You also have the option to disable certain functions like illuminating caps lock with function F12.

Additionally, there are media controls built into the top row along with some apps available for download. Lastly, you can enable either a six-key rollover using function plus insert or a twenty-four key rollover using function plus home keys.

While I'm still undecided about whether I like the rainbow lighting scheme on this keyboard, I do appreciate how it ties in nicely to the price of the product, giving users an excellent balance between customization and affordability.

The Kyol 87 Rainbow Hero Edition truly is a unique experience that may ignite your interest in trying something new. Whether you're looking for personal expression or just want to try out a different keyboard design, this one's worth a look.

weirdest keyboards that we've reviewed here on the channel not because of the shape or the switches but because of the rainbow backlight with a different color per row it is priced south of $1100 can be found for as low as 70 uh so it would all depend on your appetite for something this different this is a TK layout no number pad on the side there and I have been using the Nova touch tkl as my primary keyboard for some time now just because I love the switches so for me the transition wasn't so drastic plus it's an excellent format for gaming and travel purposes a few thick rubber pads at the bottom stabilize the keyboard on any surface plus rubber razors that angle it with a proper Cable Management strip to Route the cable for either side or the center and my only point of concern is the connection itself some users have reported this to be faulty upon arrival or has deteriorated over time under the Caps kikle is using kale switches we have the brown switch here they have a fairly good reputation but they're also known to be found on more affordable keyboards to keep the price attracted active plus the air compensating with this awesome key cap design along with the roll color variants each individual key cap is laser edged around the perimeter aside from the standard lettering this gives each key that awesome illumination for extra highlights I'm not surprised many people have actually been requesting to get just the key cap set as they are MX Cherry compatible even the space bar has the perimeter edging and given the location of the LED on the switch the brightness gradient is visible and the just something you have to accept this is the hero addition so five extra key caps are included with Batman Robin Superman Captain America and Spider-Man logos laser edged with excellent detail and uh that would hero up your setup when installed as for the lighting itself I was hoping for full RGB Spectrum given the rainbow in the name but the color is locked on each row and that's what creates the rainbow effect you cannot change the color so this different lighting scheme is a bit polarizing I'm still undecided if I like it but uh let us know what you think of this color approach with a comment below this is a driverless keyboard just plug and play and there are a few effects built in uh like a waveform shooting out lighting from each pressed key that for typing can be a little hypnotic there's a snake mode from left to right moving down but it doesn't build on it so I find it completely useless uh and the last one highlights only press keys with immediate cut off and I would have liked to see for this illumination to fade slowly after the button was pressed there is a fade effect on the keyboard but that's disappointing you can clearly see the brightness steps it's not at all a uniform fade and using the arrows Keys here you can also adjust the brightness using the function key and the numbers line you can create custom lit areas for five profiles that span numbers 2 to six using the function plus one to cycle between these different profiles so for example you can create one for gaming one for editing one for typing and whatever else you can do function plus 7 to adjust the brightness of these profiles and function plus Tilla to disable the keyboard you can also disable the Windows key with a function plus F12 that illuminates plus caps lock that also illuminates when enabled there are media controls built in into the top row along with some apps and you can also enable either a 6 key rollover with function plus insert or a 24 key rollover with function plus home now there isn't one particular killer feature on the kyol 87 hero rainbow Edition but everything is tied in nicely to the price with a good balance of lighting customization and I really love the keycap design different color perau is something different but the fading effect is poorly done and I was kind of hoping for a little extra complexity with the snake effect and some other built-in features but other than that it is a unique keyboard in an extremely saturated Market space and perhaps that's exactly the charm of the kyol 87 hero that may ignite your interest in it so thank you so much for checking out this video we would appreciate your subscription and give us a like if you found it helpful and we'll see you in the next onethis
