**The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip Review: A Head-to-Head Challenge with the Motorola RAZR**

I was playing a game on my Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, and as I started to press the gas pedal on this side of the racing game, I felt like my finger went through the plastic. The experience is quite different from what I had expected. On the other hand, the Moto RAZR took what it learned from the Galaxy Fold and applied it to the flip. The updated hinge is called the "hideaway hinge" and uses a dual cam mechanism, which allows the flip to not only fold and unfold but also stay put at a 90-degree angle inside.

The hinge mechanism is quite impressive, with rotating or sliding pieces in mechanical linkages that allow for smooth movement. There are also bristles that brush away dust or lint that might get trapped, making it perfect for users who tend to be messy. I put the Moto RAZR in my pocket and took it out, and along the edge of the screen, I found a geyser of dust and dirt that was filthy. The new addition on the Galaxy Z Flip is similar to what we first saw on the revised Fold, with a visible crease when the flip is open.

One of my biggest complaints about the display on the Galaxy Z Flip is the way Samsung stretches the screen. It's the same issue I had with the Moto RAZR, where it feels stretched out and doesn't have the same tension as other phones. This gives me some peace of mind regarding the structural integrity of the device, but I still feel like there might be some issues down the line.

Samsung promises 200,000 folds, which is about 82 times a day for three years. While that sounds like more than enough, I'm not sure if it's enough to make me comfortable with using this type of phone. The Moto RAZR has its own set of limitations, however, including specs that don't rival the best 20/20 phones on offer.

The Galaxy Z Flip is still quite powerful, with last year's top-of-the-line processor from Qualcomm, which makes it a formidable gaming device. On the other hand, the Moto RAZR only runs a mid-range processor from Qualcomm and has less RAM and storage than its competitor. The battery life of both phones was also put to the test, with my Galaxy Z Flip draining 70% after seven hours of use, while the Moto RAZR managed to drain about 40% in five hours.

The final verdict is that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip is the winner of this head-to-head challenge. I would only recommend the Moto RAZR to those who are looking for a retro experience and want to satisfy their cravings for an old Motorola RAZR. If you're looking for bang for buck, however, a foldable phone is not for you.

In conclusion, if you're in the market for a high-end phone, you may want to consider other options that rival the best 20/20 phones on offer. However, if you're looking for the novelty or the cool factor that only a foldable phone can give, then the Galaxy Z Flip is your gadget match.

version of the iconic Motorola RAZR flip phone from many many years ago announced November 2019 went on sale January 2020 price just a penny under $1500 this is the galaxy Z flip samsung's second foldable phone but the first one to fold vertically announced February 2020 went on sale February 2020 and price thirteen hundred and eighty our crawl begins at scars pizza near Little Italy I arrived unanimously comes out on top at the end of this video but keep watching one thing that Motorola has going for it though is its much larger external display apart from showing the time you can view notifications and preview messages just tap and hold the icon to see the entire notification of course one of the most practical uses is being able to take selfies with the main camera so I tested it out with my friend Brenda on the razor all you have to do is flick the phone with your wrist to launch the camera and then use the volume down button to trigger the shredder with it's big external screen it's easy to take selfies the galaxy Z flip also has an external display but it's tiny basically it's therefore telling the time and seeing if you've got any notifications although full text messages will scroll if you tap them but yes you can use it for selfies too although how do I say this it takes commitment so which one do you like better I'm gonna go with the flip because I think we look a lot warmer I'm cuter it looks ready to be uploaded I'd say like I wouldn't do any processing on that yet while on the topic of design we should also talk about good looks motorola intentionally designed the moto razor to look like the original its shape this chin and even the curves on its top are inspired by the original right now it only comes in black but a gold model is coming soon the galaxy z flip on the other hand comes in black purple and in some markets gold it's shaped more or less resembles a galaxy s 20 so much so that when it's open it looks just like one same rounded corners and an aluminum frame I'll be it much narrower I love this iridescent mirror fan and overall I think the Z flip is the much prettier choice of the tube samsung has a long-standing reputation of excellence in smartphone cameras and the flip carries on that legacy it's got 2 12 megapixel cameras a wide-angle and an ultra wide-angle the motor razor only has one camera a 16 megapixel wide-angle camera that extra ultra wide-angle lens on the flip comes in handy in various situations but even without it the Z flip takes better photos versus the razor and you can see for yourself in these side-by-side photos I took during our pizza crawl video performance is better on the flip - now that I've watched it back video stabilization on the flip is much more superior time to test out via video quality and the stabilization it's not as bad using the main camera but the difference is still obvious so the lines very long and I'm here with my bodyguards all of them have held both the flip and the razor and I want to talk about durability can a phone with a foldable display survive the wear and tear of everyday use that is the question and the biggest difference between the Z flip and the razor is the material used in their displays on the razor like every other foldable phone we've seen thus far it's plastic the flip is made of ultra thin glass although Zack of jerry-rigged everything disagrees it probably has glass fibers in there and that's enough to say it's glass or it's glass up to a certain point but it feels slippery like glass it just the durability is not there am I the only one super concerned about this like yeah this is this is ultra thin glass this is a material science masterpiece at least as far as I've been able to tell the fact it feels like a film is kind of everything I can kind of give a because if you drop it like this you're probably gonna break most smartphone screens I agree with both Matt Chris whatever the case the display on the flip definitely feels much sturdier but which display is more durable perhaps only time will tell would you also need to talk about the candidate design to your right the razor when you closed it the entire panel would lift up off the body alone yes that's a possible battery of ingres for pockets mods for debris right I don't have that good Chris is right and as impressive as foldable displays are probably more impressive and not to mention more important is the hinge mechanism each company has a different approach motorola calls there is a zero gap hinge so when closed there's hardly any space sandwiched between the folded display when the phone is closed the display forms a teardrop shape and it's tucked inside the hinge thanks to this hinge design when opened the raiser doesn't have a crease in the middle it also allows the phone to be thinner overall there's a certain peculiarities about the design it's almost like the hinges are exposed you can even see parts of the display lift up as the phone is being shut and parts of it tucking away into the lip and while the crease isn't as visible or as pronounced as on the flip the entire display feels like a sheet of plastic covers on top of the phone so much so that when you swipe up and down you can feel pockets of air or hollow spaces underneath you can hear it too even with gentle swipes or when you tap on it what's more disturbing is the creaking sound from the hinge and it's pretty loud motorola actually released a statement saying they stand by the durability of the phone and that the sounds do not affect the
