Good Morning Guys: A Day at the Track

It's bright and early, and we've decided to get up early and head out to Mexico today. Yes, you heard that right – Mexico is located in Northern California, which was our first test for the day. The car just woke us up pretty good, and we got the track prepped. We're pulling the wheels off the street, and it's a bit of a bummer, but still, the car is full and ready to go. Hopefully, some more cars will show up, and we'll be able to show you guys as much racing as possible today, whether it's big rolls or whatever – we're going to hit it hard.

As we waited for the cops to arrive, we were just kind of chilling and waiting to figure out where the best spot was. That's a good tune, and look down at the odometer on the rental car – 1322 miles is not bad at all. Good day, boys! The spots are pretty much busted, and I guess the other spots aren't good, so that's it for this morning. We're going to get back together with all these guys tonight and do some roll racing, but yeah, that's it for today.

Twelve hours later, we're a little south of town, and we're ready to do some rolls. There are actually a lot of cars here, many of which sound rowdy, so hopefully, we have a good night with no trouble getting into anything when you know some good clean hits – we've never done this in this part of California before, so it'll be new for everybody. Hopefully, we'll all have a good time.

I just got this thing yesterday, and I actually picked it up about two years ago from my friend who had a Nissan car that was super cool to ride around in. It had a grant support for a long time – about two years – and it was fun and all, but decided to step it up because the deal was too good to pass. The car is pretty simple; it's got a GP tuning cam, stock heads, stock head gaskets, an RPM level of six, a transmission that makes mid-7s around 760 horsepower. Anyone who grabs a link and gets it working like this – all right, that's not what came in from the factory.

So, we're looking at the setup on the palm beaver today; it had a single 44 mil injector, and now we're running a dual setup with 60 mil injectors and setting them up to run at 20 psi. The car is more of a track car than anything else – not race-car, not drag car, just a tracker – but I want to be able to make it super fast with the v16 engine that's coming out soon. We're talking about the late super, and we'll need something like a pendulum drive, a custom drive shaft, wagon-style underpinnings, and some other stuff. This car doesn't set up for anything like that – 15-conv or base model for weight stroker LSD heads and Brewer 91 with an engine bay setup that's pretty unique.

We're going for 22,000 pounds of weight, so we'll see how it goes; I don't know if 1,100 pounds will be a problem. We've got the stock motor, blower, transmission – just bolt-ons that are really good. He has this car tucked away in his garage, and he's telling us it's no joke – gibbehhhhh's Wow! This is a good race car; yeah, boy! It's buttons at work man.

One of these guys said something about boost streets earlier maybe waiting for the reverse gear – that thing is so freakin cool. We just hit those bumps way too fast – yeah, that one's not too bad though; it's just a little bit of bodywork. The first run wasn't great, but we noticed that the car started getting slower and slower until what happened to the first one? I think there was a detonation on the straightaway, and I think I might have had a rod – and it's getting worse.

Oh well; everything stays cool, and it's still badass. Let's go ahead and do some more runs in Northern California – did not disappoint us with a lot of good runs, only got to drive in a couple of cars today. Matt got into one, but these guys are actually racing – they didn't waste any time, and we got a lot of solid racing in. We had a lot of good cars show up, and that BMW wagon is probably my favorite car here.
