iOS 15.1.1 & iOS 15.2 Beta 3 Follow-Up - Changes, Bug Fixes & More

**iOS 15 Beta 3 Review and Upcoming Release**

We're currently in the midst of iOS 15 beta 3, which has brought several exciting features to the table. However, as with any beta release, there are some minor issues that need to be addressed. For instance, battery life is still a concern, especially for those who stream music extensively. Daniel here notes that his battery lasted almost three days on one charge before iOS 14, but with the latest beta, he's not experiencing the same level of battery life. This is likely due to the significant changes made in iOS 15.

One user reported an issue with their iPhone 13 Pro, where they had to manually connect their AirPods every time. It seems that a simple reset or forgetting the device on their iPhone should resolve this issue. Another user experienced problems with screen auto brightness not working on their device, which is currently running iOS 15.1.1. On the other hand, some users have reported issues with the SharePlay feature in Facetime.

In terms of new features, we can expect to see improvements over time as Apple refines and polishes the experience. Daniel notes that screen auto brightness seems to be working correctly for him on iOS 15.2 beta 3, even when the lighting hasn't changed. However, this issue is reportedly not present in all betas.

**Upcoming Release Schedule**

Next week marks the end of November and early December, which could signal a new iOS release. We can expect to see either a new beta release or the RC (Release Candidate) build, as Apple often skips a week due to Thanksgiving. If it's the RC build, we'll likely see the final public release on the week of December 6th, with possible releases on the 14th or 15th.

The presence of a beta number at the end of the build number for beta 3 suggests that there will be another beta released next week. However, it's also possible that Apple has made sufficient progress and is releasing the RC build instead. We'll have to wait and see which path Apple chooses to take. In any case, we can expect a new iOS release soon, with some minor bugs still present.

**User Feedback**

Throughout this beta cycle, users have been vocal about their experiences with various features. One user reported freezing issues when shooting video in 4K60 on the latest beta. This is an interesting bug that highlights the need for further refinement and testing of Apple's video recording capabilities.

Another user had some minor complaints about battery life, which is likely due to the significant changes made in iOS 15. However, these issues are expected to be addressed in future releases.

**Conclusion**

The current state of iOS 15 beta 3 has its share of minor issues and quirks, but Apple is working hard to address them. As we wait for the next release, it's essential to keep an eye on user feedback and Apple's response to these concerns. With a new beta or RC build expected soon, users can expect some exciting features and refinements to be implemented in future releases.

In the meantime, subscribers to this channel will continue to receive updates and coverage of iOS 15, including exclusive videos and insights into the latest developments. Thank you for watching, and we'll see you soon!

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwhat's up guys my name is brandon and happy late thanksgiving and welcome to another follow-up video here on the channel so this past week was a very uneventful one for apple but we really can't say they were too surprised since this was the week of thanksgiving and apple does usually shy away from software releases around the major us holidays so if you've been out of the loop for a while the latest version right now for beta testers is ios 15.2 beta 3 and for those that are not testing out the betas the latest current ios version is 15.1.1 for the iphone 12 and iphone 13 and for those that are not on the iphone 12 or 13 ios 15.1 is still the latest public software version available so in this video we're going to be discussing the current state of ios 15.1 15.1.1 and 15.2 beta 3. we're going to talk about new features bugs performance battery life and more you guys know the drill i do these videos every single saturday here on the channel so if you're not subscribed already make sure you get subscribed alright so let's first talk about some of the additional new features and changes found in ios 15.2 beta 3. and the first thing has to do with the new notification summary ui so as you guys know in ios 15.2 we have this new notification summary this is what it looks like with just the news application in there but you can see here's a screenshot what it looks like with multiple apps in that summary so it looks a lot better than it did on 15.1 and ios 15.0 so it looks really good and now in beta 3 you'll notice that it's a little bit more rounded off than it was in the first two betas so i'm hoping apple sticks with this more rounded off these more rounded off edges as opposed to a more rectangular shape so hopefully they stick with that but it is a little bit more rounded off here in this third beta also new in ios 15.2 is the ability to search inside a playlist so when you go to a playlist you can just swipe down right here and you can search and you can search for anything you want and you can see you can search by the song title the artist anything now one thing i wish they would add is by lyrics i'm hoping that sometime eventually we can search for lyrics from a playlist so we can do that in apple music but it'd be cool to be able to do that right here also it would be cool to eventually be able to sort songs in our playlist i mean this is something we should have already built in but when we go right here we have no option to sort our playlist which would be nice now also new in ios 15.2 beta 3 you can see here under the wi-fi settings we have limit ip address tracking so that used to just say icloud private relay apple just changed the verbage up right here the actual kill switch and everything underneath has been changed here in this third beta and i noticed that after using private relay for a while on wi-fi it kept dropping i kept having issues where web pages just simply would not load and that never happened before on beta's one and two so i'm not sure if they changed more than just the verbage here or what but it seems like i'm having major issues now with icloud private relay whereas i never had that before i never had just constant web pages showing you know it just can't connect to the internet it just says that and websites just won't refresh for a couple of minutes and then it comes back and works again so pretty weird stuff going on with icloud private relay here in beta 3. it doesn't happen all the time and i'm not sure again if apple changed more than just the verbage here but something is going on with that so hopefully that is fixed in beta 4. i don't use it a ton but i did notice it when i was using it here on this third beta now i also wanted to talk about the digital driver's license feature because a lot of you guys constantly ask me about this feature when it's coming if it's been added in the code you know what's next and now apple has confirmed on their website that it's coming in early 2022 so we have confirmation now that this feature has been delayed until probably ios 15.3 at the earliest so you can see here it says add your driver's license or state id to the wallet for use when you travel and in the future at retailers and venues so as you guys know i talked about this before you'll be able to use your digital driver's license at tsa at the airport instead of a physical license which is huge it's awesome you don't have to worry about losing your id so you're not going to be able to use it at retailers or venues at first but of course that you know this has to do with government as well so it will take some time and also that's another reason why it's probably delayed i mean anything that has to go through the government like that you should be expecting delays so i don't think it's all on apple right here now as far as bugs and ios 15.2 beta 3 the auto brightness is still broken so for me at first i did not realize this was broken because it didn't really seem to you know make any difference when i was in well-lit situations or really dark situations it performed fine then but it was really kind of in the middle the spots where i'd be like in the living room it would turn my brightness up a ton when i didn't need it and then sometimes it would go really low when it was like a well-lit area not over lit but just a well-lit area so auto brightness is definitely broken here in 15.2 beta 3 and i didn't notice it for a while just because i wasn't really in the right landing conditions but i can confirm what a lot of you guys have been telling me for a while now that auto brightness is in fact broken here in 15.2 beta 3. so that's something simple i'm sure apple will fix i'm sure that will be fixed in the next release and then as far as spotlight search goes you guys can see i still cannot search for applications like photos and other applications on my device so spotlight search is still broken i have reported this in feedback so hopefully apple does fix that i would assume they would but hopefully they do we'll see about that and then also the music streaming battery drain bug is still there as well so anytime you stream music you should expect a little bit of a hit to battery life it's not anything major it seemed like it was going to be a lot more you know significant since it was in the release notes but i did notice some drain just nothing too significant in my experience but it is noticeable now as far as performance goes the auto brightness bug is annoying and i did have to turn that off but aside from that and the spotlight search bug of course things are fine i mean i'm expecting everything to be patched up by the final release i wouldn't really expect any of these bugs to make it past the rc just because they do seem to be just typical bugs that pop up every once in a while it's nothing really too significant so i would expect those to be fixed but overall raw performance is fine for me here on beta 3. and as far as battery life goes nothing has changed since last week's follow-up i really haven't had anything major to report on with battery life i do still have the music streaming you know affecting my battery life and just overall worse battery than ios 15.1 or 15.1.1 you know and you expect worse battery life from a beta so really nothing too crazy to talk about here with battery life if you're having terrible battery life just downgrade to 15.1.1 or 15.1 it seems like a lot of people are doing that recently just because there are a lot of bugs though in 15.2 luckily i'm not facing a lot of the major ones i mean the auto brightness one is annoying and the spotlight search but it's nothing to make me want to downgrade but battery life of course is always one that may make you want to downgrade but just know it will get better especially the music streaming one apple will probably not ship out a final version with such a big bug like that in it and then as for ios 15.1 and 15.1.1 i have my iphone 13 pro right here which is running ios 15.1.1 and everything is fine on this although i am still having issues in the notification center so let me pull up the screenshot here on this phone so you guys can see the issues i'm having with that notification center it's this one right here now i'm not having this bug on ios 15.2 but for whatever reason i had this on both 15.1 and 15.1.1 so take a look in the notification center not only is there this big gap between the notification center you know text right here and then the next notification and then also this gap right here but take a look at the overlapping of those notifications there so just really really ugly stuff in the notification center on ios 15.1 and 15.1.1 but aside from that i'm really not having too many other issues on those versions and here's another example from that same day so you can see at 12 40 and then at 1 15 it happened again but it was like kind of different there's just a massive gap between these notifications and then again below that one before we got to the next notification so some major bugs here in the notification center so i know a lot of you guys have been reporting that i am seeing it myself here as well and strangely this is not happening on the beta versions right now only the public release which is funny all right so now i want to go ahead and read off some of the latest comments on last week's community poll so i did post a community poll last week i didn't want to post another one just because i don't like posting the same poll pretty much twice so if you go back to my community poll here you can see the latest results on this poll 66 or a 15.1 or 15.1.1 and it's great with no major issues you can see the other percentages there so i'm just going to go ahead and read some of the latest i'm going to comment or i'm going to filter this by the newest and read off some of these because we do have a lot of comments since i talked about this the first time in last week's follow-up video after updating my 12 pro max the 15.1.1 network drops frequently and gets connected again in a few seconds but it happens more frequently in every place i visit this isn't the case on my other iphone that's crazy so that was supposed to be fixed with 15.1.1 so it seems like it added that issue for you i've not really heard of anybody else having that so it might just be an isolated incident for you i'm not too sure but that does seem to be in the minority john says his wife's iphone 8 plus on 15.1.1 and battery lasts less than six hours so first of all she's not on 15.1.1 if it's on the 8 plus that's ios 15.1 15.1.1 it's only for the 12 and the 13 but anyways on inspection it appears that the apple home app consumes 60 to 70 percent of the battery this even when the phone is idle for majority of the time and home app not actively being used so maybe you have something to do with an automation maybe you have proximity turned on so maybe if you have any type of home automation setup i would look into that or maybe if you have you know a software update that's trying to download something like that look a little bit further into that that's interesting though i'm on 15.1 with an iphone 10r and there's no problems other than the fact that i still can't load my device storage so yeah a lot of people still having issues with storage here in 15.1 that's really been you know ever since ios 15.0 the betas there's been a lot of issues with storage for whatever reason but luckily it's not actually affecting your storage it's more just visual bugs so at least it's that after updating the 15.1 and my rear camera and flash light didn't work i'm using iphone 7 plus so that's weird that doesn't sound like anything related to software i would just say reboot your device and if that doesn't fix it it sounds like it may be a hardware issue more than a software issue 15.2 beta 3 i'm not having major problems but the battery life sucks so yeah it is a beta and especially if you are streaming music you probably will have not the best battery life so daniel here says battery life is still okay on 15.1 but before 15 my battery lasted me almost three days on one charge so yeah not too surprising i mean going from a mature ios 14 to an early ios 15 you should expect a little minor hit to the battery life it shouldn't be that big of a difference though like you're pointing out there so that should be fixed i would assume in coming releases iphone 13 pro on 15.1.1 my airpods pro don't connect automatically i have to connect them manually each time maybe just do a reset maybe just do a forget this device on your iphone and press and hold the back button on the airpods to reset them that should fix it not a lot of people are really having too many issues where it doesn't connect every single time some people are having it where it doesn't connect sometimes but definitely not every time i would just reset your air pods in that case 15.2 beta 3 on iphone 11 no major bug so far good to hear my screen auto brightness seems like it does what it wants even when the lighting hasn't changed so yeah that is what i was talking about it is broken for me on 15.2 he's saying it's on 15.1.1 although most people are saying it's broken on the betas 12 pro max on ios 15.1.1 is still having issues with the screen share on facetime so yeah that is share play that's going to have some bugs just because it's so new and it's such a drastic change for apple and ios so i would expect that to improve over time i have a couple of issues on my iphone 13 pro and 15.2 beta 3. the auto brightness is not working at all and also when i'm shooting video in 4k 60 i'm not able to change lenses freely only the two closest ones for example from 0.5 to 1x iphone sometimes freezes and doesn't react to anything interesting so i've not had that but that is a very interesting bug there when shooting in at 4k60 on the beta so thank you to everybody who voted in this poll as usual it does help me and everybody in the community out to see how it's running for everybody how these ios versions are running for everybody and not just for me personally alright so now what's next for apple so next week is going to be the end of november and into early december so i would expect to see a new ios release next week a new beta release so i would expect to see ios 15.2 beta 4 sometime maybe the 30th or december 1st i would expect to see beta 4 now there is also the possibility that this could be the rc build we did skip a week due to thanksgiving apple could have still been working early in that week so we could possibly see an rc next week so if we did see the rc that means that the final will be coming on the week of the 6th however if it is beta 4 next week we'll probably get the rc on the week of the 6th and then ios 15.2 the final public release on the week of the 13th most likely on the 14th or the 15th so it all depends on what apple does next week if they release beta 4 or if they release the rc build we had a b at the end of the build number for beta 3 so that leads me to believe that we should see another beta but again apple did skip a week so there is the possibility they worked on it enough and that means that there could be an rc next week so we'll have to wait and see on that but nonetheless we should be seeing a new ios 15.2 release next week but anyways guys there you have it that is the latest on ios 15.1 and ios 15.2 beta 3. i hope you guys enjoyed this video if you did i would appreciate if you give it a thumbs up and of course make sure to subscribe for a lot more ios 15 coverage i also have some really awesome videos coming out very soon that's why i've been kind of quiet here on the channel i've been working really hard on these videos behind the scenes but anyways guys thanks again for watching and i'll see you soon youwhat's up guys my name is brandon and happy late thanksgiving and welcome to another follow-up video here on the channel so this past week was a very uneventful one for apple but we really see a new ios release next week a new beta release so i would expect to see ios 15.2 beta 4 sometime maybe the 30th or december 1st i would expect to see beta 4 now there is also the possibility that this could be the rc build we did skip a week due to thanksgiving apple could have still been working early in that week so we could possibly see an rc next week so if we did see the rc that means that the final will be coming on the week of the 6th however if it is beta 4 next week we'll probably get the rc on the week of the 6th and then ios 15.2 the final public release on the week of the 13th most likely on the 14th or the 15th so it all depends on what apple does next week if they release beta 4 or if they release the rc build we had a b at the end of the build number for beta 3 so that leads me to believe that we should see another beta but again apple did skip a week so there is the possibility they worked on it enough and that means that there could be an rc next week so we'll have to wait and see on that but nonetheless we should be seeing a new ios 15.2 release next week but anyways guys there you have it that is the latest on ios 15.1 and ios 15.2 beta 3. i hope you guys enjoyed this video if you did i would appreciate if you give it a thumbs up and of course make sure to subscribe for a lot more ios 15 coverage i also have some really awesome videos coming out very soon that's why i've been kind of quiet here on the channel i've been working really hard on these videos behind the scenes but anyways guys thanks again for watching and i'll see you soon you\n"
