iOS 12.4 Beta 6 Released - What's New

iOS 12.4 Beta 6: A Solid Update for Devices

Apple's latest beta release, iOS 12.4 beta 6, is here, and it's looking like a solid update for devices. The build number suggests that this will be one of the final iterations before the official release of iOS 12.4. As such, there shouldn't be any major new features or changes between beta 5 and beta 6. Instead, Apple is likely focusing on polishing up the existing features and making sure the update is as stable as possible.

One notable reason for this update is to prepare devices for the new Apple card, which is set to release in mid-July or early August. With summer just around the corner, it's likely that iOS 12.4 will also be released to the public at this time. The fact that we've had six betas with relatively few changes suggests that Apple is nearing the end of its development cycle for this update.

Performance and Battery Life

In terms of performance, iOS 12.4 beta 6 is looking very solid. The update has been consistently fast and responsive throughout the beta cycle, with minimal lag or bugs reported by users. This is particularly notable in areas like camera performance, where the portrait selfie camera was previously plagued by lag in iOS 13. However, it seems that this issue has been largely addressed, making for a much smoother experience.

The battery life of iOS 12.4 beta 6 is also looking good. While we won't be able to make any definitive conclusions until after the final release, users have reported no major issues or concerns with power consumption. This is a welcome change for devices like the iPhone 5s and 6, which may not receive future updates due to their age.

Devices at Risk

As iOS 12.4 beta 6 approaches its final release, it's clear that Apple is focusing on supporting its older devices. The iPhone 5s and 6 are two of the most important devices in this regard, as they will likely be the last to receive software updates. With iOS 13 being a major departure from these devices' capabilities, it's essential that they run smoothly with iOS 12.4.

Release Date

While we can't pinpoint an exact release date for iOS 12.4 just yet, it's likely that it will occur within the next two weeks. This would align closely with Apple's plans to release the new Apple card in mid-July or early August. If this is indeed the case, then users can expect both updates to arrive on the same day.

User Experiences

It's worth noting that user experiences have been relatively positive for iOS 12.4 so far. Despite the fact that many people are eagerly awaiting iOS 13, few have reported any major issues with this update. In contrast, some users may still be experiencing problems or noticing differences between iOS 12.4 and their current operating system.

If you're using an iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, or iPhone 6 plus, we'd love to hear about your experiences with iOS 12.4 beta 6. Have you noticed any changes or issues? Do you have any questions about this update? Share them in the comments below!

Conclusion

In conclusion, iOS 12.4 beta 6 is looking like a solid update for devices. With minimal new features and no major bugs reported so far, it's likely that this will be one of Apple's final iterations before the official release. As such, we can expect it to be a reliable and stable update, perfect for devices like the iPhone 5s and 6. Whether you're eagerly awaiting the release of iOS 13 or simply want to take advantage of any new features in iOS 12.4, now is an excellent time to try out this beta update.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwhat's up guys my name is Brandon and today Apple released iOS 12.4 beta 6 to both registered developers and public beta testers just a little over two weeks after the release of beta 5 so of course in this video we're gonna talk about the new changes and features in this software we're gonna talk about the performance a little bit and also when we can expect the final release of iOS 12.4 so obviously a lot of you guys are going to be on iOS 13 but iOS 4.4 is still a very important update for a lot of people both people that just don't want to test out iOS 13 yet and users like the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 6 users who are not supported on iOS 13 and plus you guys know I like to cover every single software released from Apple regardless so anyways let's get into it you can see here the size of this update was very small at 132 megabytes here on my iPhone 8 plus I am also testing out iOS 12.4 on my iPhone 5s and my iPhone 6 as well and their update size was just a little bit smaller but if we go ahead over to our settings and check out the build number for this release so you can see there the build number is 16 G 5 0 6 9 a so we do have an 8 in there which does usually indicate that it is the last or the one before last a build of a software release so iOS 12 point for beta 6 looks like it is going to be the GM build of iOS 12 point for I can't really see a beta 7 coming for iOS 12 point for so there's a good chance that this is actually the GM build the final build of iOS 12 point for now as far as features and changes go there are not going to be any new features or changes going from beta 5 to beta 6 whether you're on public beta or developer beta so Apple is just continuously releasing betas for iOS 12 point for in order to make sure that it's as stable as possible since this update will be one of the final if not the final update for devices like the iPhone 6 and 6 plus and the iPhone 5s again because those devices are not supported with iOS 13 so they're gonna need a stable version to keep them going you know for years to come now of course another big reason for this 12.4 update is to get devices ready for the new Apple card which is Apple's new credit card coming out this summer so really any time now we're in the summer so we could be seeing this very soon I'm expecting the Apple card to be released in mid-july or early August so that's likely when iOS 12.4 will also be released to the public again based on the build number and the fact that we've had six betas with really no changes I just can't see Apple having a seventh beta of iOS twelve point four here now as for the performance of iOS twelve point four it is really really solid like I've mentioned and pretty much every beta release iOS twelve point for ever since beta 1 has been a really solid update in terms of performance and battery life there really are not any major bugs or anything like that everything is super solid you can see even in the camera here you can see how super buttery smooth and quick everything is you guys know I complained about that a little bit in iOS 13 because the portrait selfie camera was very laggy but you see here everything is running just fine the apps which are the animations opening up applications everything is super fast here and iOS 12.4 definitely not going to be an issue even if you're on the iPhone 5s and the 6 and I think those are the most important devices as well to be monitoring is the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 6 because again this could be the last software released for those devices so it's a good thing that they are also running very well here on iOS 12 point for now when it comes to the battery life it is also pretty solid in iOS 12 point for now I'm gonna wait until the final release of iOS 24 because I will be making another video on that whenever iOS 4.4 gets released to the public and I will be going more in depth with the battery life details in that video but just know the battery life is also very good here in iOS 12 point for now as for the release date for the final version of iOS twelve point four again that's probably going to be within the next two weeks it could be next week or it could be the following week the week of the 22nd here and again that's probably when the Apple card is going to be released as well or the Apple car may be released a few days before the final version of iOS 12.4 but I would think that they would be released on the exact same day and Apple employees and other people have been using the Apple card out in the wild as well for the past like at least a month so I would imagine that the Apple card is pretty much done at this point so can't wait to get my hands on that and let you guys know my experience with it that's you know pretty weird to say I'm excited for a credit card but I am excited for it because it is Apple and I cover everything Apple here on the channel but anyways guys that's pretty much it here for iOS 12.4 beta 6 let me know your thoughts on iOS 4.4 as a whole down Indicom section below especially if you still have an iPhone 5s iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 plus I really haven't heard anything negative about iOS 12.4 in terms of bugs or cell connectivity or Wi-Fi connectivity or Bluetooth or anything like that so if you have any kind of experiences you want to share either good or bad let me know down in a comment below because a lot of people aren't really talking about iOS 12.4 now and I dunno what you guys are you know how you guys are experiencing it how it's going for you nowadays since everything it's about iOS 13 now so anyways make sure you give this video a thumbs up if you enjoyed it and of course subscribe for a lot more iOS coverage coming soon but anyways guys thanks again for watching the video and I'll see you soonwhat's up guys my name is Brandon and today Apple released iOS 12.4 beta 6 to both registered developers and public beta testers just a little
