Reviewing Skyfire Mobile Browser for Windows Mobile Operating System
Today, we're going to show you guys a quick review of an application called skyfire mobile browser for the windows mobile operating system. So, let's just launch skyfire and see how it works.
Skyfire is unique as a mobile browser because it actually loads the internet on a server and then transmits the information to your phone. The benefits of this mainly are faster rendering a more desktop-like experience, uh, and one of the main benefits that most people like is flash support. We'll just show you real quick a page show you how it loads all right so that's pretty quick all right and it's pretty much the same as you would view it on your desktop obviously a much smaller screen so you're gonna scroll a bit but it's pretty much the same.
Now, let's talk about what makes skyfire special. The main benefit of this is faster rendering a more desktop-like experience. This means that when you use skyfire, you'll get a better browsing experience on your Windows Mobile phone compared to other mobile browsers. It's also worth noting that one of the main benefits that most people like is flash support.
To see how fast and smooth skyfire renders pages, let's go to Hulu and check out a page with a Flash video embedded. You'll notice here that it actually being shown now I'll show you in a little bit a little better of a demonstration okay so here we are it's got its little flash player in the middle. The following program is brought to you with limited commercial interruption by Sprint, 15 2009 from Comedy Central's World News Headquarters in New York, this is The Daily Show with John Stewart.
So, when I move this video it's gonna go down a little bit um but you see it's in the page we're not using some special youtube viewer or something like that we're getting the actual page with the actual flash. Not too bad, right? The only issue we have so far is that uh they don't have genuine support for our resolution on say a Touch Pro 2, but most other devices it's going to look a lot more crisp than that. You'll i don't know if you can tell in the video but it's a little fuzzy when you're looking at stuff um.
The reason being is that these devices with these high resolution like the Touch Pro 2 and the Touch Diamond 2 and the Touch HD um are relatively new so skyfire hasn't got full support for them yet. It does work on these, but you'll notice it's a little blurry because basically what they did was they took the image and they stretched it eventually though they did tell us that they will be coming out with full support so it'll look a lot more crisp and function a little bit better um.
The best part about this is it's free. Go to skyfire.com, or find the link below the video to download it once you download it put it on your phone open it. There's no paying there's no subscription you don't even have to sign up put in your email address or anything so it's definitely a download. We suggest it's a must-have um for any Windows Mobile phone.
In conclusion, skyfire is an excellent mobile browser that offers faster rendering and desktop-like experience. The addition of flash support makes it a great option for those who want to watch videos on their Windows Mobile phone. While there are some limitations with its resolution support, we're confident that the developer will release full support soon.
