Poco M2 Pro Review - Hype or Swipe _ iGyaan _ 4K

The End of the Day: 5 to 6 Hours of Screen Time is Not a Problem with this Battery Size

In terms of battery life, the Poco M2 Pro is one of those phones that will surprise you. A 5000mAh battery size may not seem like a lot on paper, but in reality, it's more than enough for most users. The phone can easily last from 5 to 6 hours of screen time, depending on various factors such as brightness levels and usage patterns. This is particularly impressive when considering that this is a mid-range smartphone with a 48-megapixel primary camera and other high-end features.

However, it's worth noting that gaming enthusiasts may find the battery life to be less than satisfactory. If you're constantly playing games on your phone and have everything connected all the time, you might find yourself running out of juice after only four hours. This is because gaming requires a lot of power, and the phone's cooling system is not yet optimized for such intense usage. Nevertheless, for most users who are not heavy gamers, the battery life should be more than sufficient.

The Camera: A Surprisingly Good Experience

One of the standout features of the Poco M2 Pro is its camera system. The primary camera is a 48-megapixel sensor that delivers surprisingly good images, especially when it comes to portrait mode and low-light photography. The ultra-wide-angle camera also performs well, capturing crisp and detailed shots of wide scenes. What's more, the video stabilization is exceptional, making it feel like you're using a gimbal on your phone.

The front camera is equally impressive, with a 16-megapixel sensor that delivers clear and natural-looking portraits. The phone also comes with a suite of editing features that allow you to enhance your images and add effects such as skies or dramatic skies. This makes it an excellent choice for those who want to capture high-quality images and videos without having to leave their phones.

Gaming Experience: A Mixed Bag

While the Poco M2 Pro's camera system is a major highlight, its gaming experience is less impressive. Unfortunately, the phone struggles with high-end games that require fast frame rates and low latency. This is likely due to the phone's cooling system, which is not optimized for intense gaming usage.

That being said, the phone still delivers an enjoyable gaming experience, especially when playing lower-end games or casual titles. The 48-megapixel primary camera also performs well during gameplay, capturing crisp and detailed shots of characters and environments.

Speaker Quality: Not the Loudest

One area where the Poco M2 Pro falls short is its speaker quality. While the phone's p2i coating provides a degree of water resistance, it would have been nice to see a slightly louder or more resonant speaker system. Unfortunately, the speakers are not loud enough to fill large rooms or outdoor spaces.

That being said, the phone still delivers decent sound quality, especially when using headphones. The design also makes up for this by having a textured back and Gorilla Glass all over, giving it a premium feel that's hard to ignore.

Design: A Premium Feel

The Poco M2 Pro has a sleek and premium design that sets it apart from other mid-range smartphones. The phone's dual-tone color scheme gives it a stylish look, while the Gorilla Glass 5 protection provides added durability. The texture on the back of the phone is also surprisingly pleasant to the touch.

What's more, the phone's frame is rigid and solid, giving it a premium feel that's hard to find in devices of this price category. This, combined with the protective case and screen protector pre-installed on the phone, makes it an excellent choice for those who value durability and protection above all else.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the Poco M2 Pro is a surprisingly good smartphone that delivers impressive performance and features at an affordable price point. While it may not excel in every area – such as gaming or speaker quality – it makes up for these shortcomings with its excellent camera system, durable design, and fast charging capabilities.

As one of many mid-range smartphones available in the market, the Poco M2 Pro is a solid choice for those looking for a reliable and feature-packed device without breaking the bank. Its value proposition is hard to ignore, especially when considering that it comes with features such as Gorilla Glass 5 protection, fast charging, and a premium design.

Overall, the Poco M2 Pro is an excellent smartphone that's worth considering for anyone in the market for a reliable and feature-packed device at an affordable price point.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey guys what's up this is balith you are watching I again and for about seven to ten days between testing pocos new phone and unsurprisingly it's not the poco f2 it is the poco m2 Pro now this is the cheapest phone available in the market from the company and it is their second second-generation phone in the second series of phones that are coming out in 2020 which means that going forward will also see a flagship revision so f2 or an f2 Pro might come from the company but right now let's look at the m2 Pro and see whether it's good or not for the price that it's been launched at so let's quickly get started now the build quality and design of this phone is quite familiar it actually is quite reminiscent of other item a note 9 series but there are quite a lot of differences here and you will see those in the design and the texture of the phone more importantly the front the back as well as the camera lens are all Gorilla Glass 5 so it's material wise well-made it's also got a pretty solid frame and then you also have a p2i coating that makes it water repellent as well as dust proof and it will keep your phone going even if you drop it in a puddle of water accidentally you can pick it out quickly the p2i coating will last in most cases now over the front is a six point six seven inch display which has a twenty is to 9 aspect ratio it is a full HD Plus display that gives you a 2 4 double zero by 1080 pixel resolution now on the front also is a center placed punch hole camera it's a 16 megapixel camera and it also has night mode the phone is pretty much edge to edge any on the bottom side of the phone you'll see the 3.5 mm headphone jack the USB C charging port as well as the microphone and the speaker the microphone and the speaker are placed quite next to each other and this might interfere in conversation calls although we didn't see this problem while testing out the phone that we did have on the right is the fingerprint sensor that is placed directly in the power button and it also has the volume buttons on the right on the top is a secondary noise cancellation microphone and an IR blaster for a remote control so if you want to use your IR remote features on the phone you can do that here as well on the left of the phone is the same tray now this is a dedicated SIM tray so you get two dedicated slots for SIM card as well as a microSD card expansion slot on the back is where all the action is for the cameras it's got a quad camera set up the primary camera is a 48 megapixel camera you also get an 8 megapixel ultra wide sensor along with a 5 megapixel macro sensor and a 2 megapixel depth sensor the camera can shoot 1080p video and we'll talk about that a little bit later now specifications wise you get the qualcomm snapdragon 720 g chipset which is an octa-core cpu and also has the Adreno 618 GPU you will also get 4 or 6 gigabyte of RAM as well as 64 or 128 gigabyte of storage options the RAM is lpddr4 x ram and the storage is ufs 2.1 storage the poco m2 pro is running on me why 11.0 dot 2 and it's on android 10 it is quite a familiar user interface and you do get the poco launcher on the phone as well so all your apps do sit below and you can swipe up to see all the apps there's quite a lot of pre-installed apps which I'm not a fan of but helpfully that you can uninstall most of these applications as far as performance is concerned day-to-day application usage as well as multitasking is pretty responsive on the phone and overall usability is quite nice the display is a 60 Hertz display so there is no setting a better or a higher refresh rate the company chose between faster charging and a better refresh rate and unfortunately the refresh rate lost and we'll talk about charging in just a minute the phone comes with a standard 60 Hertz display and the refresh rate remains at that which should not be a problem for a lot of people who are going to buy this one but of course a better refresh rate would have been appreciated by a lot of people the display is also bright enough as well as has good viewing angles it's got a good amount of saturation and contrast and it's easy to view the brightness level is also pretty nice whether you're using the phone indoor as well as outdoor you will have no issues using the device now because of the 720 G chip you get a pretty good performance boost on the phone and it's apparently a 40% improvement from what we saw with the 720 now if you're playing games like pop G you're not getting the maximum experience from the game you are not getting the higher frame rates from the game and even if you bring down the graphics to the lowest you're still not getting the high frame rate options and this is somewhat disappointing you're not seeing extreme gameplay however is not jittery at all gameplay experience is not at all if you are not somebody who's used the higher frame rates you're not going to mind playing games like pop G so the gameplay itself is not a problem the fact that the refresh rate options and the frame rate options are not there and the higher frame rates are not available on the chip side despite it being a faster more newer chipset is somewhat of a disappointment maybe this can be optimized possibly by pubsey or possibly by poco it's yet to be seen but for now the gameplay is restricted to that and also leave benchmark scores for you on the screen right now overall for the kind of chip it is it is giving a good amount of performance and other device slots in quite well in the price bracket that it's been launched at so phone call capability and network performance is as expected more or less good on this device you do get dedicated sim slots that means that you can have two active sim cards on this and then you can also pop in storage so that's a good thing everyone will appreciate the three part tray on the phone the earpiece is loud enough for phone calls and the microphone is also good enough to pick up your audio the speakerphone also is loud enough to converse on phone calls so no complaints over there the poco m2 Pro has a five thousand milliamp hour battery but the most important thing is that it gets a 33 watt fast charging and then you also get a 33 volt fast charger inside the box along with the fact that it can charge up your phone up to 50 percent in just 30 minutes so you get a good mix of not only fast charging but also a massive battery and this is the reason that poco says that they couldn't include a faster refresh rate screen because otherwise the price would go out of whack and so to balance that out they've included faster charging and the 33 what fast charging along with the five thousand milliamp hour battery at this price bracket will really be appreciated by a lot of people and like the five thousand milliamp hour battery also lasts a full day of use even on a really high level usage so even if you are playing games and browsing the web and just really using your phone you will have it lasts mostly till the end of the day 5 to 6 hours of screen on time is not a problem with a battery this size and depending on again levels of brightness and the way you use your phone and for what purpose this may vary and for some people it will be much more but if you're gaming constantly and you have everything connected at all time then you might get upwards of five hours and not six hours now let's talk about the cameras the primary camera is a 48 megapixel camera and you also get an 8 megapixel ultra-white camera images are surprisingly good from other poco M 2 Pro along with the fact that I will really emphasize on the video and more importantly the video stabilization the video stabilization especially even if you're walking seems like you're using a gimbal with this phone it works really well only if the lighting is proper and if you're outdoors so you get a really good light into your sensor and it works really well for the image stabilization and it's almost gimbal like on the phone and it's really appreciated on a device of this value so if you're somebody who's going to capture a lot of video on this you will really enjoy it including the fact that it doesn't hunt for focus while you are in video now images are really sharp and contrast and color is really good on the images you get focused really quickly portrait mode especially on the main camera and also on the front camera is good and you still get the suite of features that let you edit out the portrait mode so you can do things like add a sky or a more dramatic sky into your images from the editing options if you don't already have a nice sky in your background so all these things combined make the camera a pretty impressive and we really enjoyed capturing images on this and more importantly like in the auto mode it gives you a good result just when you click the shutter for images you not only get a pro mode but you also get the night mode which works really well in low-light shots as well and then for video you also get things like short video and slow motion video all of which come out really nice on the device so the camera is concerned it's one of the primary main factors of this phone that we really liked and it's going to be one of the main reasons that people have preciate this phone now there are a few things that right off the bat are not the greatest with this device and that turns out to be more towards the gaming aspect of things and I would have liked to see better results from games that we usually play and that is not the case a higher frame rates and better gaming experiences the speaker is also not the loudest on the phone I would have liked to see a slightly better speaker I do appreciate the p2i coating but some better level of what resistance should now be on these devices this is the highest category of selling phones in our country and a lot of people get water damage on their phones so maybe a proper rated coating on these phones which makes them ingress proof would be appreciated by a lot of people the texture on the back of the phone looks really nice and the dual tone on the back gives it a very premium look the fact that you get Gorilla Glass all over makes the phone look extremely premium and the overall fridges are super rigid and the frame is rigid on the phone and it does not squeak or rattle at all and gives a good experience in the hand makes the phone look premium inside the box you also get a protective cover which is a black colored clear TPU case and it will give you basic protection and there is a screen protector pre-installed on the phone so you do get the screen being protected right off the box as well and then of course you can buy covers separately for this phone it's compatible with a lot of red meat covers that you will find in the market it's a really interesting phone from the company and it is their second second-generation phone and it falls into a category of many other phones it's one of the busiest spots for smartphones in the country today and you get devices from not only xiaomi real me samsung as well as now the new motorola one fusion plus is also available in a similar price category so this is going to compete with a lot of devices but for the most part it seems to be a really well-rounded phone and it delivers with respect to usage and capability and it's also a really good value for money with respect to some of the features especially the fast charging bit will be really appreciated by a lot of people what are your thoughts on at the poco m2 pro let us know in the comment section below if you enjoyed this review give it a thumbs up if you haven't already make
