SwitchEasy Capsule Touch 2G_3G - Review

**The Rebel Touch Case from Switch Easy: A Review**

Switch Easy is known for their wide range of accessories and cases for various electronic devices, including smartphones and iPods. The Rebel Touch case for the iPod touch is one such product that we'll be reviewing today. As with many Switch Easy products, this case comes with a multitude of options and accessories, making it an attractive choice for those looking to protect their iPod.

**Packaging and Accessories**

The packaging for the Rebel Touch case includes a variety of accessories, which are neatly arranged in a compact accessory box. The box itself is labeled as the "Accessory Box" and contains a range of items, including a universal dock adapter, two anti-static protective screen shields, a video stand, connector protectors, and microfiber wipes. A detailed illustration on the box shows how to install these accessories, highlighting the hybrid design of the case. The case itself is encased in a hard exoskeleton with a soft silicone sleeve, providing a unique and effective way to protect the iPod touch.

**Accessories Inside the Box**

Upon opening the accessory box, we find a range of useful items that come in handy for protecting and caring for our electronics. The video stand is particularly useful for propping up the iPod touch at an angle, while the 3.5 mm headphone adapter is a nice touch, as it allows users to connect their headphones without having to deal with the limitations of the existing headphone jack. The clear dock adapter protector is angled specifically for the iPod touch and provides a secure fit. Additionally, there's a universal dock adapter that can be used to charge the iPod, along with two anti-static protective screen shields to prevent damage from dust and scratches.

**Installing the Case**

To install the Rebel Touch case on our iPod touch 2G, we simply slide it onto the device button-side first, allowing it to snap into place around the edges. The hard shell then snaps into position, securing the case tightly around the iPod. This process is quite straightforward, and once installed, the case provides a snug and secure fit that prevents the iPod from moving around.

**Design and Materials**

One of the notable features of the Rebel Touch case is its design, which closely resembles the iPhone 3G 3GS cases. The materials used are slightly different, however, with stainless steel providing the base material for the iPod touch. This results in a slightly different aesthetic, but one that still feels premium and high-quality. The case's clear design allows for an unobstructed view of the Apple logo on the top and the iPod logo at the bottom.

**Performance and Features**

Upon installing the case, we can feel the volume controls and see how much space is available around the headphone jack. One potential concern with this type of case is the weak flap that runs along the edge, which can become flabby over time and lose its shape. However, this is mitigated by the large bezel surrounding the glass screen, which provides a clean and seamless design.

**Conclusion**

Overall, the Rebel Touch case from Switch Easy offers a great combination of protection, accessibility, and style for those looking to safeguard their iPod touch. With its range of accessories and durable construction, it's an excellent choice for anyone seeking to add some extra layer of security to their device. While there may be some concerns about the durability of certain components, these can be mitigated by proper care and maintenance. For now, this case is a solid option for those seeking a reliable and protective solution for their iPod touch.

Touch second generation and third generation now as some of you may know I'm a big fan of the switch easy capsule rebel I have one here for the iPhone 3G and 3GS and I also have one for the iPhone 4 I actually have several for the iPhone 4 at this point and this is the Arctic this is the clear version for the iPod touch it is available in a variet of colors and styles and the big thing with switch easy is they include a lot of options and accessories with their cases so the rebel touch is no exception in fact let's look around the packaging just to get a preview you can see they have included a 3.5 mm headphone adapter I'm not sure why but I suppose that's useful we'll take a look you can see the accessory box here the accessory box tells us that includes a universal dock adapter two anti-static protective screen shields a video stand for propping up the iPod also connector protectors and the microfiber wi so and you can see there's an illustration of how to install it and this is basically a hybrid design so there is a hard exoskeleton around a silicone sleeve so here is the case itself we're going to put that aside and get the box out let's see what's in the accessory box first so we have the the video stand we also have this 3.5 mm headset jack adapter we also have the clear uh dock adapter protector you can see it's quite angled for the iPod touch and we have the dock adapter that fits this case that's all there is in that accessory pouch nice to have one of these I don't have one so it might come in handy so let's pull this out so inside we should have the screen protectors in fact we do so nice screen protectors we have instructions for installing everything including a part inventory Al we have the squeegee for applying the screen protectors a little microfiber cloth and some instruction manuals now as we can see again this this hybrid casee and it's just like the 3G 3GS iPhone case it separates it's kind of a pain to get apart there you go so we have the exoskeleton or spine and we have the soft inliner to protect the iPod so here I have my iPod Touch 2G and I'm just going to slide this in button side first should just snap in around it it's pretty soft there you go now we're going to snap on the hard shell so really pulls it in makes it tight to snap on the sides there you go it's very very snug so that's not going anywhere of course because it's clear you can see right through it so you can see the Apple logo and the iPod logo very similar to the iPhone 3G 3GS cases it's got that same design of course the materials are different so it looks different through the clear of course the iPod is stainless steel while the iPhone is plastic in this case this one is white so it looks a little different the effect is a little different but otherwise they are very very similar and design now let's just take a look around you can see that the silicone does cover the hold switch but it's quite accessible so it feels pretty good it does feel a little numb so you can't really feel it in fact it's powered off right now so I just turned it on but the volume controls feel good I can feel the click of the volume control or volume rocker on the bottom we have plenty of space for the headphone jack so we have this little d after here so we can just show you how that fits in and we have plenty of room for the dock and just to show you let's plug in Apple's earbuds you can see there's plenty of room for it now this is handy because you may have headphones that don't quite fit the case so this might come in handy now my only real concern about these cases has been this sort of weaken flap right here uh there's not much material around the edge here so sort of gets flabby over time you can see it on my iPhone 4 right down here loosens up so it kind of sags a bit but otherwise you have a very large bezel around the glass itself so it provides a very good lay on table design everything seems to be pretty neat on the sides right now I do notice that over time at least on the iPhone 3G 3GS case it does sort of sag a bit it moves around sort of pinches on the rubber itself so it doesn't look very neat on the side but otherwise this case provides a lot of protection it provides the benefits of having a silicone case which uh protects and seals the back of the iPhone from dust and grid and if anything ever does get in there the silicone does a good job stabilizing it and the hard shell uh keeps the silicone tightly adhered to the iPod itself and it provides some extra protection of course it looks quite neat at least it's quite stylish for a case so there you go guys I now have matching capsule Rebel cases for the iPhone 3G 3GS and iPod touch and of course we have one for the iPhone 4 so once again guys this
