The Elegance of White: Why I'm Excited About the OnePlus 5T's New Colorway
normally I find new colors of existing phones to be a bit of a cop-out it's just an excuse for manufacturers to take old phones and jumpstart sales by building hype over a new color that being said there is one model that I just thought was too cool to not make a video for I'm David ml with Android authority and this is the one plus 5t in white
Opening Up the Box: A Familiar yet Unique Experience
As I opened up the box, I couldn't help but notice that it looked pretty familiar to the regular 5T team. The design was similar, with a sleek and minimalist aesthetic that OnePlus is known for. However, as soon as I took the phone out of the box and noticed the white trim around the rim, I knew that this was going to be a whole new experience. The clear case that came with the phone allowed me to show off the strikingly white color, which was enhanced by the subtle sandstone finish.
The Sandstone Finish: A Gritty yet Elegant Touch
One of the things that really stood out to me about this new colorway was the addition of a sandstone finish. The regular 5T had a smooth and glossy white finish, but the OnePlus 5T's version added a grittiness that I hadn't seen since the OnePlus One. This grittiness not only looked great but also provided a nice grip when holding the phone without a case, which was something that I found really appealing.
A Return to Roots: The OnePlus 5T in White
The buttons and logo on the phone were a stark black color, which looked really great with the dark camera lens. This combination reminded me of a Stormtrooper, which is probably why OnePlus decided to make the Star Wars edition white. The physical notifications also stood out, changing from the usual black to a bright saturated red that really popped against the black and white scheme.
A Color Scheme That Mirrors the Company's Theme
One of the things that I think really makes this colorway special is how it mirrors the theme of the company as a whole. The black, white, and red color scheme of the phone is reminiscent of OnePlus' early days, when they first released their flagship device. This return to roots is something that fans of the brand will appreciate, as it shows that OnePlus has come full circle.
The Screen and Performance: Still Great
Despite being a new colorway, the screen and performance of the OnePlus 5T are still great. The display is excellent, with good brightness and color accuracy. The processor is also top-notch, making for seamless performance even when multitasking or gaming.
A Genuinely Exciting Colorway
For me, this is one of the first colorways that has genuinely gotten me excited since the OnePlus One. The feel in the hand is so drastically different from the regular 5T, which makes it stand out from other devices in its class. If you're considering getting a 5T but haven't had a chance to grab one yet, or if you wanted the Star Wars edition but couldn't get your hands on it, this is really the next best thing.
