ton of speed going in there and like carry it to the outer corner and not fly off has just been really tricky do you have your fancy notebook with you oh no no we don't need it we don't need it we're just going to try to make us look more legitimate than we actually have a notebook there's a notebook uh so what i'm realizing i actually talked to vaughn about this i've been struggling with that last corner a lot and with achilles a lot of your grip is in forward bite not necessarily in side bite which makes it really easy to follow all different types of cars because you can be off throttle and not have the car to straighten out but it's really important to have wheel speed to dig yourself out of corners and that last one my logic was leaving in third gives me more wheel speed so it'll be less i could shoot off course however um von suggested going in a second because he downshifts there and it would make sense because now watching my footage i hear my car bogging every time i get there so even though third gear would generate more wheel speed i'm not even getting anywhere close to the rpm i need as soon as i need it so i'm gonna try downshifting there
we also found out uh i mean maybe my listening skills just sucked but i thought that outer zone was like an outer zone like all the other ones where you got to get close to the edge but apparently it's eight feet off the edge of track yeah it's it's it's a little bit in so you have room to to play around in that outer zone and i'm not going to grasp i'm gonna go play around in the outer zone a little bit guys all right so while i mean jin we're going over his notes and everything figured out there were a few changes that they made to the car freddie do you want to step in and kind of explain what's been going on in the hot bits uh i guess the two or three biggest changes was the alternator was showing low voltage randomly so we changed the alternator
we also the car was running a little bit too cold which is funny ironic yeah it's funny i was running about 170 175 fahrenheit and the motor has a little bit excessive blow-by so we're going to run it a little bit hotter to get the motor to seal up a little bit better so we're shooting for about 190 200 degrees fahrenheit on the coolant temp uh what else do we change
we change the bottle heater to come on with a button instead of with the nitrous system nothing crazy but yeah little changes it feels like something's loose in my front end it doesn't feel like power steering wow james do you copy i felt great in that run but i'm definitely gonna need to downshift in that uh corner because i got choked hard and then bogged other than that though it felt pretty good yeah mhm um um ah so yes please

pumped uh it's a bummer pat couldn't make it this year he just wasn't able to make it to the rounds and i'm pumped that you're able to make it out here ginger's like a huge reason why i went from tandeming five car lengths away to being on people's doors i feel like we both are kind of like mathematical and yeah very engineery and like very analytical rather than just being like you know just update crew wise zach from ecu masters super busy so this year we have freddy who's gonna be going over the car and checking all the tuning stuff which is awesome since he's the one that tuned the car and we all love freddie and his little legs and then johan's here too which is super exciting uh johan's super super hard working super excited to be here and really talented dude so we're gonna head back and then we got our first practice laps out there and gonna play around with gearing a little bit try to get the car to do what we want and uh go from there definitely interesting how they are not doing qualifying this year basically the way that it worked the person who had the top ranking from last year who was osbo went up and picked a number between 1 and 16. he drew 12 so then consequently the next person who is second in points last year gets 13 and then that's how the bracket is filled so in theory let's just say hypothetically we were last um like because we're new into the season you know there's a couple of people that are new rookies so i don't know how they're going to sort that but let's just hypothetically relax that would mean that i technically qualified 11th and then that means i would be paired against well like 18 19. something so basically my first pairing's gonna be like the sixth or seventh points contender from last year not great but it's better than going up against like osbo for my first battle so we'll see and i'm just super excited to get out there and drive with all these people who are such bad drivers but like also a lot of them that
