My First Time doing RALLY - Subaru Impreza 2.5RS

The Thrill of Rally Racing: A Behind-the-Scenes Look at the Rally Wrench Experience

Wow, this thing is phenomenal! The brakes are incredible, and it's so much faster than I expected. And that's not all - the handling is spot on, making it a blast to drive. I'm having an absolute blast here with my friends at the Rally Wrench, and I wish more people could experience the thrill of rally racing.

As we were driving around, our host mentioned that they don't usually get corporate events scheduled in advance. Instead, they would often have last-minute cancellations or openings, which is how we ended up here today. They do a lot of side-by-side racing and private training sessions, where they can work one-on-one with drivers to help them improve their skills. These sessions are a lot more relaxed than the corporate events, and it's clear that the Rally Wrench team takes pride in their instruction and coaching.

One of the best parts of driving for the Rally Wrench is the opportunity to try out different cars and experience the thrill of rally racing firsthand. From the Maserati to other high-performance vehicles, each car has its unique characteristics and challenges. Our host mentioned that they have a lot of fun with their clients, allowing them to go off jumps and drive everything they have, making it a truly immersive experience.

As we were filming our session, I couldn't help but notice the quality of the equipment. The GoPro camera was mounted on the car, capturing every twist and turn in stunning detail. Unfortunately, the inner lens of my own GoPro camera had shattered, rendering it useless for further use. Despite this setback, the experience was well worth it.

The Rally Wrench team is based just 30 minutes south of Austin, Texas, making it easy to schedule a session or attend one of their events. They have also hosted grid life Midwest, which was a recent event that brought together friends and enthusiasts for a fun-filled day of driving and exploring. With their upcoming trip to Chicago, we're excited to see what other adventures await.

As I prepare to hop on a plane tomorrow morning and head to the grid life Midwest event, I couldn't help but feel grateful for this opportunity. The Rally Wrench team has been an absolute blast to work with, and I'm looking forward to seeing my friends and driving some of their amazing vehicles. With their expertise and guidance, I know I'll be able to take my driving skills to the next level.

The rally wrench does stuff like this for people, but usually, they would have to schedule it in advance or make an appointment. The team is always looking for new ways to share the excitement of rally racing with others, whether through corporate events, private training sessions, or simply by allowing enthusiasts to come and experience it firsthand.

As I reflect on my time at the Rally Wrench, I'm reminded of how much fun I've had behind the wheel. From the speed and thrill of driving to the camaraderie and expertise of the team, every moment has been an absolute blast. I'm so grateful to have had this opportunity, and I know that I'll be back for more.

The Shred man himself is teaching me how to shred, and I couldn't be more excited. With his guidance, I feel like I'm finally starting to get the hang of it, and it's an incredible feeling. As we wrap up our session here at the Rally Wrench, I want to thank everyone for their support and enthusiasm. It means the world to me, and I'm honored to be a part of this community.

As I prepare to take off tomorrow morning and head back on the road, I feel refreshed and rejuvenated. The thrill of rally racing is something that I'll always cherish, and I know that I'll be back for more soon. Until next time, stay tuned for more adventures from the grid life, and don't forget to follow me for all the latest updates from my travels.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enall right so it's been what about a year and a half two years something like that yeah I'm here with shredder and we're here I don't know if guys will be able to hear me over all this wind at the rally ranch so we were kind of joking around yesterday about coming over here and doing some rally stuff and we were actually able to make it happen so you guys know I've been kind of getting more into other sorts of driving and I've been dying to get in some sort of rally car in some sort of rally stage and hopefully we can make some happen - yeah we have we just got here but we'll figure it out we're gonna drive it okay we'll do some walk arounds all right so Harrison came out for today and he's telling me that he's gonna bring a Maserati to come and go rally with oh yeah this is not what I had in mind what give me a rundown on this thing what is going on with this River special the guy that owns Harris Hill built this as a chump car and it's a Maserati Biturbo but it doesn't have that engine anymore thing is it fun it seems like a perfect thing bringing the rally we might have some fun with some side-by-sides might take this thing out but I think we're gonna go preview all the stages and everything first these Yamahas are super super cool they've actually got a clutch pedal I don't know if you guys can see down there and they a sequential transmission I think they're 5-speed these things are gonna be fun it's so cool this looks fun yeah this is a jump this is this looks like way more fun than way less deadly than like going through the woods right right this is our intermediate force so this isn't the rallycross track but you talking about oh it is it yeah totally so we're in rallycross about one month in different configurations of this setup figuration which looks like it works pretty good yeah this is tight can be fun before you guys get to see me go on the rally car I wanted to take a quick second for a shout-out so you guys have heard me talking about ringing before the company that makes those smart doorbells and rad security cameras but today I want to talk to you guys about an app that they have and it helps you stay informed of crime and safety events in your neighborhood and it's absolutely free it's called neighbors it's been cool cuz I live been checking in on the security cameras and stuff I'll go to the neighbors app to kind of see what's been going on in the neighborhood and the past couple days we've got dangerous speeding with a couple ATVs going on back where I live we've got a vehicle burglary and we've got lots of bear sightings I guess there's a bear that was getting its way around so it's kind of cool it's like a new neighborhood watch powered by real people but on your phone so it's way simpler anybody can join you don't even need a ring device I definitely recommend checking it out and see what's going on in your neighborhood so we're gonna make sure that you and your neighborhood are safe you can download the neighbors app by ring absolutely free all you have to do is go to ring comm forward slash atom and you can download it from the iOS or Android App Store as just ring Tom Ford slash atom simple look look at that I don't even know the atom lz2 that'll make your neighborhood safer today with the neighbors app by ring Thank You ring for sponsoring yet another video I'm excited about the neighbor app and I hope you guys are too my certified it's got the logbook and everything so this is yours it's my my my project gonna roof wing from a different car and then it's got a trunk wing as well heck yeah I don't know much about rally stuff what are the switches on the floor for so if you're a coke driver yeah you're in here you're hanging on but you're looking down at your notes right mm-hmm you also have typically attached right here an on-board computer that will tell you like distance and time and stuff like that because you really have to keep up with a lot you know a lot going on especially with in between stages there's transit so I've got these three switches that I can use as a path as a co-pilot this one's for the horn this one's new zero the odometer so like when you get to a checkpoint you want to zero your odometer maybe you have 3.7 kilometers till the next major intersection so you do that and then it resets it on here and then you can not have to worry about looking at that you just keep watching your notes and calling out your signs to your driver I don't actually remember what this one does but it's something else to do with the trip computer what is the horn floor like one would you use it so like if the paths are in the driver he doesn't actually have a horn button and you know if you are coming up to an intersection or if you see people in the road or if there's cows or animals you know any number of reasons you'd use a horn the copilot can do it without requiring the driver to be distracted by having to move his hands off the wheel or let's say I find the button yeah very cool so you're told me this is Aaron Kaufman scar and you guys bought it right this is the car you saw on discovery shifting gears as his show and this is the one that we trained the crew of Arclight to drive and learn how rally works and then they built this kind of a clone of our number 11 which you're going to drive around and yeah this is it right here this is Aaron Kaufman's rally car what the show was over and he didn't really have anything to do with it we offered him a price he couldn't refuse and we bought it from him back that's so cool this is a school car actually we have we will allow students to come out you know special students ones that are really well qualified to come and drive Aaron's car on TV and rip it around the ranch that site so I don't know much about rally but I'm assuming that these little filter socks help with like dirt debris water rain is there any other like rally must mod I see was that some sort of catch can yes it's just a breather catch now for the engine you noticed like pretty beefy reinforcements for the shock towers and if you look at these shock towers are actually very heavily reinforced I was gonna say cuz they definitely don't come in box like that no not at all and it's all TIG welded and stuff so the guys are quite you know made sure that this car was gonna stay straight and true as best they can other than that you know your typical cooling mods big giant Casey lights up front for at night fire system and some other little things really really good motor mounts is important on a rally car especially they're always under a lot of load and a lot of you know torque with the power so pretty simple swap it's a it's a you know basic Subaru engine and there's not a whole lot to it it is built but it's not like turbocharged no touch it's nothing like a drift car so it's cool and there's lots of little sensors and stuff they look familiar cuz cars on an ECU master that's right they actually helped put this together and let's tight yeah before you help you reverse rallycross track amazing I was like watching the corners also watching Footwear cloth so I can understand kind of where you applied the rake it's okay that's tight oh that was good I'm just gonna take it kind of easy and again please of course can I should it be good idea from you just go around the circle to get a feel for it or know you can but not not really I would just cruise through the back just kind of get it I actually feel a little bit close to the pedals we go through here right it's where you now can feel so rickety but also so dialed yeah this has rally tires so it's like way better than what you driven before here yeah so I'm good to just kind of cruise right it's not enough brakes there yeah this is where you're being first right right so I try the pendulum and thread a bunch of left foot breakouts does yeah it's a drifting happen to me I'm going to clutch in like myself I remember you're engaged with the brake pedal so you make sure that all your foots on there okay and then you there's no air gap or anything to take up so it's been blazing hot but it's starting to cool off I've had what would you say maybe about a dozen laps in that car right now okay I feel like a meeting pretty comfortable the left foot yeah I'll let you open the eggs I can handle it the left foot brake logic is kind of hurts my brain but I'm getting used to it especially like after I get back from tuning gears getting back to the left foot brake feels kind of weird but I feel like I'm in the hang of it and we're gonna set up some GoPros kind of like showing the wheel work the foot work and outside of the car now that I feel like I can put down a decent lap yes please Aaron thank you and then we're actually gonna go and take the side-by-sides out so I'm gonna do that to just kind of show you guys a little bits of improvement I made I'm just having a lot of fun so so yet another thing I forgot to film because I'm all over the place with videos and technically in like three days behind right now you guys remember Alexi was in town and we had those rad collab shirts that we made with Alexi and lone Starr drift the nori rol Z longshore drift collab t-shirts that we sold only at the Lone Star vets now we had some left over and we had a small batch that didn't make it in the toader and we're basically going to allow you guys if you're interested to preorder them with a little ship in about a week if you guys didn't see them they came out really really cool Alexi was hyped on them I'm hyped on them it's pretty simple this is the back we got a nice little Texas Japan combo going on and then the front super simple just like the rest of our shirts so do you guys want to support me and support Alexi at the same time you can find these shirts for a very short period of time by following the link down buried in the description the good that was awesome into that moment all right one part yeah oh yeah no not the pendulum turn I think that was okay yeah the first corner I turned in a little bit too early in skulls be there before the hairpin yeah the very first like a right yeah you ready yeah meow well yes freakin sick that's so fun good job dude it's sick right Roddy's I'm excited hopefully you guys can hear me I decided to make up my helmet reven to ten grand I wonder if I showed my sunglasses into my own way the thing is funny yeah there's that rattle again you sure you don't mind if I Drive the Maserati dude I'll give her a go this is gonna be fun oops he said to go full Sun with this thing Wow the brakes are phenomenal let's get a pot pot wow this is so much faster than true and that brakes are so touchy grab these three tires and say heaven surprisingly well not so much ankle so two ends are we enter to the Subaru how does it know if you want to ride back I'm done okay how was it I mean I can get more air off the jump but I don't want to destroy it do you want me to just do one hit on the jump right go ahead kind of fast okay I was just let it cool down I'll do that little ring in Harrison I can now say I jumped a Maserati yeah I wouldn't if that would make it cooler like title then like I drove a rally car get this spring grab of like a going-over crest it's amazing how good this thing is the brakes are so good handles so well I would love to use it on the track the only downfall you guys seem here that it doesn't have fans so it gets a little hot for rally but um he was so sick I loved it so rest in peace to this GoPro I think the inner lens is shattered so I don't think it's salvageable but um dude thank you yeah thank you Dave I know you're not here Dave but thank you for letting us come and have fun here so this was kind of like a super last-minute thing the rally wrench does do stuff like this for people but usually you guys would have to like you know schedule it make an appointment not just like show up today after you got the idea so yeah so what do you guys do the most of like kind of like rally stuff more the side-by-side stuff for everything it's a blend of everything we really like doing corporate events because it's so many people that get to experience rally for the first time so corporate events are fantastic private training I really love personally because I can see a driver grow from whatever skill level they are to you know tremendously better after a day or two and we get to do a lot more with them you know it's one-on-one coaching and they get to go off jumps and drive everything we have and have a lot of fun that way so I prefer that so if you guys aren't familiar with the rally wrench this is what we see like 30 minutes south of Austin Texas yeah so we're 15 minutes from Kota and a half hour from downtown Austin so if you guys are ever in town you want to check it out I'll put a link in the description if you guys want to find out more info but I'm very appreciative now the second time we've been able to come out here not fun with the toys so let me know if you want some training I'll help you out yeah the Shred man himself teaching how to shred so that is going to be the last of the videos cut it why do people trust me with things I don't know so that's gonna be the last of our Texas videos I'm about to hop on a plane tomorrow morning and go catch up with the guys and the rig that are up up by Chicago I think for grid Life Midwest which is a spread of moment thing that we decided to go to so come to a good life Midwest if you want to see me drive - 15 with all my friends up there and make cool smoke and clips and videos and stuff so we've been on the road forever and we'll be doing this grid life Midwest event and then I think I'm gonna come over to eat áown to run pro-roh down so that's the rough itinerary right now and then probably gonna chill with the drift events and traveling for a bit just because it's been almost like two months straight on the road so it's been fun though and I hope you guys have been doing the content I've been doing my best to put it up while I'm on the road even though it has been kind of a struggle to certain degree but um appreciate you guys more than you can imagine and all this stuff that we've been able to do and all these things that we've been able to drive have been absolute blast I'm gonna go call up all this dirt that I've inhaled today and I'll see you guys tomorrow I hate you so much no that's pretty sad boy yeah I guess I guess that's good man you just look so stupid yep you definitely look like Adam Elsie now you look like higher up out of Mel see I I really I can't say good because of how stupid when your friend yes you're in the frame yep look at you god I wish she had your helmet so you definitely look would look like the Super Trouper um go a little bit tear arm right my I mean my right yeah that's all III think I'm pretty and crooked but that'll have to doall right so it's been what about a year and a half two years something like that yeah I'm here with shredder and we're here I don't know if guys will be able to hear
