Xiaomi Mi Note 3 Unboxing & Hands-on Review (English)

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enso I've just wrapped up my video of theXiaomi Mi mix 2 - which is in thebackground here to check my channel ifyou want to see the review of that onebut now it is the Mi Note 3's turnhere so this is their new model thatreally looks to me like our larger Mi 6it really is almost the same got thesame camera module the design of itlooks the same better the course ispowered by a Snapdragon 660 so this unithere I got from gearbestand it came as you can see with DHL thepackaging here but look at this I gotstung with sixty and nine euros almost70 euros there intact so beware thatwhen using DHL they have becomehorrendous here in Spain lately holdingthings taxing things it's a document feethat is really does completely overthere just overdoing it really well howmuch they are charging on that so goodto see that it is a double box here sohopefully it has no damage because thebag itself from DHL looks a little bitbeat up and also wrapped up in bubblewrap so this is really well protectedhere hopefully this has the seal on itbut I can see they've put their ownseals on this one so if you know awareof the specs it has the snapdragon 616with a maximum turbo of 2.2 gigahertzthat's an octa-core and it has 6gigabytes of RAM 64 gigabytes of storageor 128 this is the 64 gigabyte modelit's got bluetooth 5 wireless AC dualSIM and as I mentioned there in thestart the design is a lot like the me 6and I can see that already so I'm justgoing to put the phone to the side for asecond or have a look at the includedaccessories so we have a white type-ccable and then our quick charger nowthat is rated to 12 volts or 1.5 ampsand they include a Type C - 3.5millimeter adapter here which isannoyingthey should have just left that 3.5millimeter jack alone. Now I can see likethe Mi Mix and the Mi Mix 2 - they haveincluded a case which is good this isjust obviously the instructions are notthere's the sim tool that is all inChinese so I'm not even going to botherwith that and it's exactly like the mesixes case in factthink this phone should have been calledthe me six plus so it ships here withthis transit screen protector you can'tactually use it with this on therebecause the screen will look all blurrywith it so get that off and there isalso another one on the rear so thephone weighs in at a hundred and sixtyfour grams and comes in at a thin sevenpoint seven millimeters thick now if Iaccidentally call the note three the Mi 6 plus you'll see why this is Misix and they exactly the same this isjust a larger version of it because wehad remember the me five s and then theMi 5S Plus and this I believe wasgoing to be the me six plus but ofcourse it didn't turn out to be in theend they decided they would rename it Isaid no it's gonna be the night but tome this isn't really a note because thenote had the curved edged screen withthat OLED panel on it but this doesn'tsay five point five inches five pointone and yesmy Mi 6 has seen better days. So alongthe front of the note three you'll findthe front-facing fingerprint reader typeC port loudspeaker microphone and youcan just make out the two antenna linesthere along the front you can see we dohave two point five D class nowaccording to some sources its GorillaGlass 4 it could actually be dragon tailthere's no real way of telling this andthere shall we come out and just say outout right yes it is dragon tail and wehave got a 16 megapixel sensor this isnew and it does have some beautifyingfeatures and all that kind of gimmickystuff but I'll cover that later on inthis video the earpiece of course andthen next to that about here thereshould be a notification LED and on thevery top secondary microphone here fornoise cancellation and used in video theIR transmitter and sadly of course no3.5 millimeter headphone port then alongthe top we've got one antenna linethere's another one exactly in the sameplace on the other side the volumebutton and power button they have a goodfeel to them they're made out of metaland they do not rattle the sim tray ison the left and it takes two nano Simsand overall this build quality feelsexcellent exactly the same as the me 6it's really well put togethernow doesn't have any splash resistanceat all so what do you do don't gotesting that like I did with the me 6and if you're wondering about that caseit's just a cheaper TPU style one sonothing amazing and already showingfingerprints like crazy there it doesprotect the camera when you put itfacedown on a table at least and thebuttons as well are protected but it'snothing like the quality of the casethat I got here with the me mix - thisis made out of a hard plastic and Iactually prefer this model over this oneso next to the mimics - here you can seethat the note actually turns out to beabout the exact same height there whichis interesting considering that themixed who has a 5.9 inch screen and thisis 5.5 inches but of course it doesn'thave that really nice screen to bezelratio body ratio that the mimics - doesalright the initial setup here so thesescreen looks quite bright at the momentit's actually been overexposed a littlebit my current camera settings so gothrough the setup English or then ofcourse you've got all the Asianlanguages there that's all that's onthis at the moment until we get theglobal ROM which hopefully will be outin about a month or so so we'll connectthis up later on to why let's check forany updates they might have pushed outsome OTAs bio for this just skip thatstep but I'm interested in setting up myfingerprint so place your finger on thefront there of course and have to dothis ten times I think it is just moveyour thumb slightly or finger done andgo with that default theme so that isnow set up reasonably quick so thescreen looks at this point hard to saythat yeah it's definitely that's not anOLED panel no that's LCD well IPS sorryand I'm gonna lock it here will unlockit that was almost instantaneous that isvery quick I've come to expect thefingerprint readers now I show measdevices to be very fast I mean even thereadme series those ones are reallyquick that is lightning fast okay so Iconnected up to the Internet and yesalready there is an update which hasquite a large one 1.4 gigabytes tobasically fix some bugsso I finished updating the phone and thesecurity patch level you can see thereis now from the 1st of August which isgood and it is Android version 7.1.1and you'll see there free availablespace is 52 gigabytesnow just a little tip here if you are anearly adopter like myself then you won'thave the global ROM yet but in order toget Google Play Store on here it's notactually that hard just go into the meapp so that's the meze App Store andthen search Google and this will pop uphere the first one on here is in factthe Google Play installer so open thisrun through it you've got to beconnected up to wireless or a networkand that will install Google Playservices it'll install the frameworkcontact sync and once you have that allset up now you have to enable this tothe unknown sources so once that is allset up then you will have Google Play onyour mobile so the IPS panel is a JDIand you can see the camera informationas well so the main camera sensor is anAMX 386 but the auxilary sensor isn'tit's a Samsung sensor this you can havea look on in the internet Google thatone and find out more specs about thatsensor and then that 16 megapixelfront-facing sensor also looks to be asamsung so the hardware navigation keysdown the bottom are backlit with just atiny little dot either side you can seethere and clearing the memory we getabout 4 gigabytes of that 6 gigabytesfree so ran and to to here because I wascurious to see what kind of score thesesnapdragon 616 gets because I've neveractually used it before this is thefirst time and you can see it's a yeahit's a little bit behind is Snapdragon805 which I have in the next two hereyou can see the main difference there isthat GPU so the Adreno 540 is a lotfaster than the 512 so gang like the me6 the earpiece also doubles as aloudspeaker here transmitting soundforward to you which is great and thenit comes out of the bottom here so let'shave a listen to itmm okay that wasn't actually very goodat all it's not very loud they need toupdate this software on that I assumethis has probably got the exact samehardware as the me six and that is a lotlouder than this as here sodisappointing loudspeaker so far so Ihad a couple of issues getting GooglePlaystore to run what happened was itwas just sitting there saying checkinginfo and what I ended up doing isrestoring a backup that I have on mywebsite that I've used on previousdevices for example like the me6 thatactually then worked in the end so youmove it over to your internal storageand then you need to go through thebackup system which is any additionalsettings here then you go along and findbackup and reset and then I have underlocal backups here the files with Aprilthere and once I restored that thenGoogle Play was working for me and nowon to the dual rear camera so just againlike Tim he sings it's exactly the samehere we've got the option to change tothe auxilary sensor which then has thattwo times optical zoom now this sensordoes not have any optical imagestabilization and it cannot be used invideo again like to me six you probablyhear me saying that a lot so the optionswe get here manual mode you've got quitea few settings that you can tweak sowhite balance focus exposure time ISOand then of course you can select whichlens you want they call it a wide lensor then the tele but it's not really awide lens it's just more like a standardlens they've got on there now into videomode here you'll see get again we aremissing 1080p 60 frames per second isnot here so we have only 4k 1080pstandard HD and if you ever look herethat it is continual autofocus mode isset by default so I'm gonna take a fewsample pictures now this is just to geta preview of what kind of quality we canexpect here from these two sensors andof course that 16 megapixel front-facingsensor as well4k sample now now you cannot use the twotimes optical lens on this because wellyou probably wouldn't want to anywaybecause it doesn't have optical imagestabilization so as you can see this isquite steady that's a little bit of windso you know that you hear quite a bit ofwind noise at the moment quality seemspretty much the same as the me six to meaudio codec bitrate needs to be improvedand there are sometimes issues with thefocus which is currently on continuedautofocus mode now it is struggling withthese conditions here because thebackground there is well let the soundsgoing down so not easy capture such asmall sensor let's look at thefront-facing camera now so thefront-facing camera is now 16 megapixelsthat's an increase over the typical v wenormally seeI think the aperture is if 2.2 on thisnow I'm not in direct sunlight it's anovercast day we've got clouds in thebackground there you can see and due tothat I can't really test out if it'sgoing to be over exposing my face likethe mix to did that I just recentlyfinished reviewing that seem to have abit of an issue there in bright lightbright conditions it would over exposebut here it seems to be quite good thisqualityI think it's 1080p okay so that's justthe first impressions they're anunboxing of the note 3 or should I sayme 6 plus because that's basically whatit is it is this phone right here just alarger version of it they are almostidentical when it comes to things likethe cameras the performance of it seemsvery similar now the GPU on the me 6 isfaster because it's got the audrina 540this has the 512 and when you saw thosescores there with antutu there's anoticeable difference but using it theROM feels just as fast the CPU score isactually quite similarly with theocta-core 2.2 gigahertz maximum turbo soso far there's a lot of positives herethe screen is nice the fingerprintunlocking is basically instantly it'sreally good you don't have to waitat first and then unlock it unlocks andwakes literally within seconds therewhich was great to see now cameraperformance it's early days to commenton that I want to use it a little bitmore take some more photos but it'slooking like it will take a very goodphoto in good light low light I don'tthink it's going to be up to otherflagships no video quality and noticethat sometimes the focus is not quite ahundred percent there just say a problemthat's plaguing charmese phones foryears now and also that audio bitrateit's way too low they need to increasethat it sounds like it's got a bit of anagressive noise cancellation also cominginto play there but overall they've gota lot of optimization to do if they justfocus for once on their cameras andreally they're promoting this as being acamera orientated phone it's all aboutthe camera so the designs great buildquality is great screens great batterylife of course I'll have to find thatout and charge times once I use this fora week or so I also wanted to comment onthe price I think it's a little bit tooexpensive at the moment for a snapdragon662 vise it should be a bit cheaper eventhough we do have of course that premiumbuild the cameras off than me six thankyou so much for watching this hands-onand unboxing here I
