The 2018 Chevy Tahoe RST Is a $78,000, High-Performance Chevy Tahoe

**Driving the 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe: A Fun and Focused Ride**

The moment I stepped into this massive SUV, I knew I was in for a treat. The optional magnetic ride control system is a game-changer, making it feel like you're floating on magnets as you navigate the road. This technology not only provides comfort but also helps prevent body roll and pitching, creating a more enjoyable driving experience. As I settled into the driver's seat, I was struck by the sheer size of this vehicle – it's truly enormous.

As I put the Tahoe through its paces, I was impressed by its performance. With a 6.2-liter engine and a new 10-speed automatic transmission, this truck is no slouch on the road. The acceleration is smooth and responsive, with a zero-to-sixty time of just five and a half seconds. But it's not just about raw power – the Tahoe's suspension system works in harmony with the magnetic ride control to create a comfortable and engaging driving experience.

One of the highlights of this vehicle is its luxurious features list. I'm talking heated and cooled seats, a heated steering wheel, and even a heads-up display borrowed from the Corvette family. And let's not forget the tech – a heads-up display out of a Corvette, heated and cooled seats with a heated steering wheel like an Escalade or Denali, and adaptive cruise control that keeps you in lane.

But it's not all about comfort and convenience – this Tahoe is also designed to be fun. With its responsive handling and engaging acceleration, you'll find yourself wanting to push the limits of what this truck can do. And with a sound system that rivals even the most premium vehicles, every drive feels like an adventure.

**A Look at the Specs**

If you're considering purchasing this Tahoe, there are a few things to keep in mind. The base model starts out at $65,000, but add in the performance package, front brake kit, and suspension system, and that price jumps up to over $77,000. And don't even get me started on the destination charge – it's a significant addition to the overall cost.

But for those willing to splurge, the rewards are well worth it. This Tahoe is truly a unique driving experience, one that combines comfort, performance, and luxury in a way that few other vehicles can match.

**A Special Delivery from Chevy**

As I was getting to know this Tahoe, I received a special delivery – a case of performance upgrades and modifications straight from the factory. And let me tell you, it's a beast. With big brakes and a crazy exhaust system, this truck is ready to take on anything the road throws its way.

And what's even more remarkable is that Chevy handed over control of the vehicle to me and left me alone with it. No instructions, no guidance – just a blank slate waiting for me to push its limits.

**A Special Mention: Dale Earnhardt Jr.**

As I was getting familiar with this Tahoe, I had the chance to sit down with the one and only Dale Earnhardt Jr. In fact, he's one of the few people who truly understands what makes this truck special – and that's why he's been a vocal supporter of Chevy's latest creation.

According to Dale, when you're doing something automotive-related, it's all about having fun and being passionate about what you do. And if that means burning out or taking a doughnut for good measure, so be it. As long as you're doing it with style and enthusiasm, that's what matters most.

**The Press Event: A Helicopter Drop-In**

As I was waiting around at the press event, I had the chance to witness something truly special – a helicopter drop-in of the new Silverado! It was a wild scene, with cars whizzing by and reporters scrambling to get shots. And let me tell you, it's not every day you see a major car reveal like that.

Of course, we won't be getting any official details on the truck just yet – Chevy is keeping those under wraps for now. But trust me when I say that this Silverado is going to be something special. It's a true marvel of automotive engineering and design, and it's set to take the world by storm.

As I left the press event, I couldn't help but feel grateful to have been a part of such an exciting experience. And if you're as curious about this Silverado as I am, be sure to check back soon for more updates and reviews!

I'm here with Chevrolet celebrating their 100th year of Chevy trucks and including that this is a drive of their Police Interceptor vehicle at 5.3 v8 tuned to catch bad guys and they're gonna let me drive it which obviously they haven't seen my videos front tone one tone to tone three just alone where you can go the rippling only radio like correct and for more about my Tahoe Drive click the link below and read my column on autotrader.com slash oversteer ivory all right Tyler nice to meet you ok so I'm not in trouble no I actually get to drive you didn't steal the police car this time yeah that's we're gonna go in into the right let me do it okay well copy the Yankton stairwell but I see your first time you will write on it like mmm kissing it okay look like it's like you kiss me from the state to the next one keep going don't know oh we don't listen and that's how we get tased alright well I managed to get through that without getting tased and officer is actually really nice despite my horrible driving but the reason they're doing this is to show us a new vehicle that Chevy's coming out with a kind of Interceptor inspired sporty you mean Tahoe rst which I'll get to see tomorrow at a place where they're really doing it for Dale now Chevy was kind enough to put me in a hotel and also feed me a steak dinner with an open bar and last night I was up thinking about all the cool trucks that they've made that we're kind of sporting additions in my lifetime and the first one that springs to mind is the 454 SS Chevy 1500 the little regular cab pickup that was lowered with the big-block engine now that was really cool another one that I can think of is the 2000 tahoe limited with just mostly an appearance package but it was all blacked out and lowered and looked really sweet another cool one I can think of is the 2003 Silverado SS which actually had the six liter vortex so it wasn't just a pretty face but it was mostly for show had a cool body kit that kind of stuff and then there's the really cool one the Trailblazer SS which has the ls2 v8 from a Corvette which I became very familiar with swapping into my old horse show they really haven't done a lot of sporting edition Chevy trucks but new for 2018 is the Tahoe rst and it is real pretty no it's not a track Hawk competitor but it doesn't need to be now these things are offered in just mostly an appearance package where you still get the 5-3 in the stock suspension and brakes which is fine but then they have something called the Performance Package and that is really something the performance package starts with the 6.2 liter v8 which saying this as a former Chevy salesman back about ten years ago finally finally I mean since 2000 all we could get was the 5-3 and we were missing out so many sales to the Denali and Escalade which were more offensive but had the bigger better engine but they didn't stop there in the performance package you also get the magnetic ride control which you would find on the Escalade and the Denali and also the nicely optioned Corvettes and I sport tuned this to handle better you don't have the body roll in the pitch when you slam on the brakes also speaking of brakes he put big brakes on it and they also put a crazy exhaust and Chevy has handed me the case of this thing and left me alone with it and I get to drive this thing before all of you other non automotive journalists eat people sorry you're so far away but this thing is huge and inside they left a window sticker and this thing starts out at sixty-five thousand dollars which is before you get the performance 6.2 liter package and the front brake kit and the suspension package and all the sunroof and other cool stuff making it an extra twelve thousand dollars and then the destination charge makes it a grand total of seventy eight thousand four hundred and fifty dollars don't crash it now the first thing you'll notice when you drive this Tahoe over a regular one is the optional magnetic ride control which is amazing you're basically a hovercraft floating on magnets and it's also very reactive to prevent body roll and pitching and all the stuff you would associate with a large SUV like this and it just makes it a much more enjoyable car to drive not just in a comfort sense but also to add a little bit of fun and speaking of fun that is a great noise a nice little Corvette always out of this thing also it has a new 10 speed automatic transmission which certainly keeps you in the power and I imagine probably helps with gas mileage as well but all I care about is this this thing is definitely doing it for now now it's not anything crazy this thing's huge so it's like a five and a half second zero to sixty which is just pretty dang good but it's not really about the zero to sixty it's about the experience and this thing definitely gives you the feeling that you're want to go fast you were gonna Ricky Bobby it I want to go fast well this Tahoe also has some pretty cool tech borrowed from the other cars it has a heads-up display out of a Corvette heated and cooled seats with a heated steering wheel like a Denali or an Escalade and it even has a sort of adaptive cruise control that keeps you in the lane somewhat and a really weird accident avoidance system that sends vibrations through the seat into your butt when you're doing something stupid so if you are about to hit something this Tahoe will shake your booty rather inappropriately back right buttock is shaking okay I won't hit the bush just stop so that's all I have on the Tahoe rst and if I'm going to give it a score I'll give it an over 9000 and give you no point of reference to let you know if that's good or bad now there's lots of other stuff going on today at the Texas Motor Speedway where they're celebrating hundred years of Chevy trucks so there's a lot of cool old hoop tees to check out so is this a video review is this a vlog I don't know guys just just bear with me freak right electricity you got oil pressures then I guess their water temperature you're looking out at the radiator I'm flat-ass actually feel like I'm sitting on grandma's couch right smells like naugahyde and it's just beautiful look at the noggin I didn't like Wow yeah they stamped all the walnut behind them to make it look fancy yeah sort of the first kind of luxury truck isn't it I think it is yeah has a preview has air conditioning that as a seat 350 engine better oh yeah a little bit of rule it's a little soft but you know I was telling the other guys this is after the vintage test drives I was sent to a press conference where I asked a very important question what do you think of do it for Dale and that big movement and was it me to you and what do you think of it well when whenever you do something automotive related a burnout a doughnut any kind of stuff you're always doing it for Dale you know that's that's why you do it I think that's great and even if it's tongue-in-cheek and people are just having fun but I enjoy being on social media and being sarcastic is a majority of what social media is then we were sit outside for something crazy ladies and gentlemen you are the first people in the world to ever see me so they drop a Chevy Silverado out of a helicopter and then various to the buses as quickly as possible so we can't get many pictures of it they're actually saving it for the Detroit Auto Show later in January for the big unveil and so that's all I got for this press event and if you think Autotrader should send me two more things hit
