HTC U11 Squeeze Smartphone Unboxing & Overview

Unboxing and First Look: HTC U1

The HTC U1 is a smartphone that promises to deliver high-end features at an affordable price point. As we take it out of the box, we can see that the device comes with a fingerprint scanner, which is conveniently located on the front of the device.

Powering up the HTC U1, we can see that it is equipped with the Snapdragon 835 chipset, an octa-core processor clocked at 2.45 GHz. The device also comes with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, making it a great option for those who want a lot of space to store their files and apps. Additionally, the device has an Adreno 540 GPU, which is designed to provide high-quality graphics performance.

The display on the HTC U1 is a 5.5-inch Quad HD IPS LCD screen with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. This provides a sleek and durable surface that can withstand everyday wear and tear. Moving on to the camera, the device features a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera with an f/1.7 lens, as well as Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) for improved image quality.

The front-facing camera is a 16-megapixel shooter with an f/2.0 lens. The device also includes NFC and other sensors, making it compatible with a wide range of devices. The battery is a large 3,000mAh unit, which should provide all-day battery life.

After setting up the HTC U1, we can see that it comes pre-installed with a range of apps, including Instagram, Google Apps, and the HTC Sense companion. This suggests that the device is designed to be easy to use out of the box. The settings menu provides quick access to various features, including quick toggles, Android version, and edge sense.

Edge sense is a feature that allows users to squeeze the device's back button to perform specific actions. In this case, the default action is to launch the camera app, but users can customize this setting to do something else. The advanced mode also provides additional options for customizing the behavior of the edge sense feature.

One notable feature of the HTC U1 is its fingerprint magnetism. After just a few minutes of use, the device's fingerprint sensor becomes covered in fingerprints and smudges. This may require some extra maintenance to keep the device clean and functional.

In conclusion, the HTC U1 seems like an impressive device that offers a lot of value at an affordable price point. With its high-quality display, powerful processor, and advanced camera capabilities, it's definitely worth considering for anyone in the market for a new smartphone. However, users will need to be aware of the potential fingerprint magnetism issue.

Camera Performance

The camera app is one of the most important features on any smartphone, and the HTC U1 delivers in this area. With its 12-megapixel rear-facing camera and f/1.7 lens, the device takes stunning photos with ease. The OIS feature helps to reduce camera shake and improve image quality.

In addition to the camera app, the device also comes with a range of other camera features, including exposure adjustment and tap-to-focus. This makes it easy for users to take high-quality photos without needing to use complicated settings or features.

As we continue to test the HTC U1's camera capabilities, we can see that it takes beautiful photos in a variety of lighting conditions. The device is also able to produce excellent low-light images, thanks to its advanced sensor technology and image processing algorithms.

In terms of comparing the camera performance of the HTC U1 with other high-end Android devices, we will need to conduct further testing and analysis. However, based on what we've seen so far, it seems like the HTC U1 has some serious competition in this area.

Verdict

Overall, the HTC U1 is a well-rounded smartphone that offers a lot of value at an affordable price point. With its high-quality display, powerful processor, and advanced camera capabilities, it's definitely worth considering for anyone in the market for a new device. However, users will need to be aware of some potential issues, including fingerprint magnetism and customization limitations.

By testing out the HTC U1 thoroughly and comparing it with other devices, we can get a better sense of its strengths and weaknesses. In the meantime, one thing is clear: this smartphone has the potential to deliver exceptional performance and value for users looking for an affordable upgrade.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhi there this is ran and in this uh video we'll be doing the unboxing and have a first look at the HTC1 and as you can see this is a review unit uh just this box so this is what we get and looks like the handset is in this one as you can see again it's very shiny that's the the new thing with this HTC1 all the variants have this shiny uh back and they call it the liquid metal or something like that liquid uh so it's going to be a shiny thing so they also give a clot to keep it clean because they know it will attract a lot of fingerprints and we are also getting a plastic bumper case uh with this one in the Box apart from that uh we get this uh fast charger uh which is a HTC branded fast charger that we are getting and uh a USB to USB type uh C cable that we are getting and uh we also get a USB type-c 2 uh 3.5m headphone jack adapter because this one does not have a headphone jack I don't know why they're going the iPhone route no headphone jack on this one so we getting this adapter and we get some extra earbuds and uh we also getting this uh headset uh this is an interesting headset actually uh again it's a USB type-c headset that we are getting and you have to use with this one and and uh let me try to open this app as you can see uh this is a iner uh type uh that we are getting and uh this one is HTC branded and this is supposed to be having uh noise cancellation we also get a button here to uh take or end calls and it has a microphone so this is the handset uh itself before I talk about this headset let's talk about the Indian pricing as you can see this is a review so nothing is sprinted regarding the pricing uh but in India this one is priced at rupees 51,9 190 that's almost 52,000 rupees and the version that is being sold in India is the 6 GB Ram variant that comes with 128 GB of internal storage this is the higher end variant that is going to be sold in India I don't know why HTC didn't introduce the lower-end variant that comes with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of uh storage we just going to get the 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB version that is for 52,000 and you might think yes it's expensive but I would sort of disagree because HTC is a premium brand and if you look at some of the other brands for example let's take the case of Sony the Sony Xperia exit premium is priced at what 59,900 that's almost 60,000 yes it has a 4K screen but it has just 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage so I feel the pricing is okay but yeah they could have been neive now moving to uh the physical overview on the top we have uh uh what do you say secondary noise conso insation microphone and this is actually made up of a metallic frame that we are getting and let's open the SIM tray it's a dual SIM uh hybrid I believe but let's just check yes nano SIM and you can put a second nano SIM or a uh micro SD card but as I mentioned the one that we are getting in India comes with 128 GB of storage so storage should not be an issue volume rocker power onoff button and uh looks like one of the speakers is here a USB type-c port and the main micro phone uh the other speaker is also on the top we'll check that later on and on this end we have uh nothing another thing about this handset is that it has pressure sensors here and here so if you press the handset you can invoke some actions we'll look at that uh later on and the fingerprint uh scanner I believe is here as you can see so let's just quickly power this on and uh let's do its first Boot and uh by the time it actually boots up and I set it up let me give you a configuration overview this HTC U1 is part by the Snapdragon 835 chipset which is a octacore processor clocked at 2.45 GHz the version that is sold in India comes with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage it has the adreno 540 GPU a 5.5 in Quad HD IPS LCD screen with gorilla glass 5 production moving to the camera it has a 12 map rear facing camera with f1.7 lens and it has Optical image stabilization moving to the front facing camera it's a 16 map shooter with f2.0 lens it has fingerprint scanner NFC and other sensors and the battery is a 3,000 mAh battery so I've just finished setting up uh this uh device and as you can it's trying to download some stuff it's uh installing uh some stuff and it has this HTC sens UI uh as you can see uh generally HTC does not load a lot of blo Weare as you can see but yeah there is some uh stuff that is installed that's like Instagram and stuff standard Google Apps and the HTC Sense companion so let's just look at the settings so we have the quick toggles and uh let's look at the Android version and we have that edge sense again uh that's regarding the squeeze thing we'll look at it uh later and uh it says uh HDC use Sonic earphones for noise cancellation we can set that up and and as you can see it's running at the Android version 7.1.1 so that's a nice uh thing uh so as you can see 7.1.1 so we are getting noot out of the box and let's look at the storage out of that uh 128 gigb you get 112 GB of uh space that is available to you so storage should not be a issue with this one and these back buttons are touch capacitive and whenever you touch them they glow recent apps and back so that's uh pretty familiar territory that we are seeing and uh let's just go again here and let's look at that edge sense that the one we squeeze so let's uh go here and we can set an action uh the default action is uh I think so to launch the camera but as you can see yeah I launched the camera using that you can quickly do that so let's try it again if just squeeze it launches the camera but you can set it to something else also if you want enable advanced mode so we have short squeeze action and other actions uh that we have uh with this so you can enable uh this mode again you have to set it up again I'll test all these things later on uh in the video just just unboxing but again let's say if you don't want a camera app you can let's say I'll just use it for flashlight that's way more convenient let's see if I just squeeze as you can see flashlight on flashlight off so that is that squeeze option that you're getting and again immediately just notice this is sort of a fingerprint magnet yes it looks cool but just it's been about like what 5 minutes since we started using this device it's a fingerprint magnet uh so you have to constantly C cleaning it or put that case uh regarding the camera they were talking a lot about the camera and uh it's a 12 megapix f1.7 lens uh but they said that dxo gave it a rating of 90 which is the highest for a smartphone till date so let's quickly uh just fire up the camera and have a look at the sa so this is the camera app default auto mode and you have that you can have the tap uh and adjust the exposure and stuff and you'll immediately notice that the it takes the pictures really quickly uh so that's a nice thing so here are some more sample shots that I've shot in my office again I'll have to test the camera a lot more uh again I'm traveling a little bit so I'll be taking a lot of sample shots with this device to let you know how is the camera performance and I'll also try to compare the camera performance with some other uh high-end Android devices to see how well it fits so guys that's it for now for this quick unboxing and uh
