HTC One M9 Unboxing - SuperSaf TV

Unboxing the HTC 1 M9

The box is quite nice and clean, with some HTC branding on it. I like that simple look. Let's get out the unboxing knife and open this up to see what's inside. Once we've opened the plastic, you'll need to shake the top half of the box off the bottom to remove the device. This did take a few shakes to get out, but it's worth it to see the HTC 1 M9.

As soon as the top is removed, we're presented with some additional items in the box. You'll find some paperwork, including a quick start guide, warranty information, and safety guidelines. There are also some repair stickers included, which are really nice to see. If anything goes wrong with your device, HTC will offer a free repair or replacement within the first year.

You'll also find a sim card ejector tool, power adapter, micro USB to USB cable, and some HTC earphones. The earphones look quite nice, with a red and black design that I like. They come with different sized earbuds, depending on the size of your ears. Let's take a closer look at the device itself now.

The HTC 1 M9 is presented in a bit of plastic, which will easily remove to reveal the device underneath. As we can see, it has a 5-inch screen at the front, with an 1080p resolution. Taking a closer look around the device, we can see the front-facing camera, which is actually an Ultra Pixel camera like what was used on the rear-facing camera last year. This should help in low light for your selfies.

There are also some sensors and stereo boom sound speakers on the top of the device, as well as a small HTC logo at the bottom. On the left-hand side of the device, you'll find the sim card tray, while the right-hand side has a micro SD card tray, volume up and down buttons, and a power button. The power button is located at the side, rather than the top, which I think is a good move.

The top of the device has an infrared port, while the bottom has a 3.5mm headphone jack and your micro USB cable. Along the back, you'll find a 20-megapixel rear-facing camera, which was also used on the previous HTC M8. This camera will be interesting to see how it performs.

The back of the device also features a dual-LED flash, microphone, and some text with the HTC logo in the middle. One thing that's different about this device is that it has front-facing boom sound speakers, rather than a back-facing speaker. Let's give the device a first boot to see what it's like.

The device takes a bit of time to start up, as it goes through 173 apps and updates. This took a couple of minutes, so be patient while you wait for the home screen to appear. Once we're in the settings menu, there are loads of options to navigate through. Let's quickly go over some of these options before we get to the home screen.

As we can see, the device is running HTC Sense on top of Android Lollipop. That's it! The HTC 1 M9 looks absolutely beautiful, and I think it's a great device to be released early. "WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwhat's up YouTube saf you're on superf TV and we've got the HTC1 M9 here a little bit earlier than the official release date so a thumbs up for that would be appreciated and I've been really looking forward to this device it's definitely going to be one of the most popular devices of 2015 as the M8 was of 2014 and it's offering some nice specs and features so let's get straight to the unboxing the box is quite nice and clean you've got some HTC branding on here but I do like that simple look let's get out the unboxing knife and open this up so we've got the plastic all around it we'll speed this up so you don't have to get too bored and once that's done you need to try to shake the top half of the Box off the bottom and this did take a few shakes to get out and they were presented with the HTC1 M9 now we'll put that to the side for just a second to see what else we get inside the box to start off with you've got some paperwork so that's a quick start guide some warranty information as well as your safety guide and then you've got these stickers now I wasn't too sure what these were initially but they are repair stickers apparently HTC are going to be offering a free repair to your device in the first year if anything goes wrong so if you crack the screen or if it gets any water damage HC will repair or replace your phone in the first year free of charge so that's really really nice to see you also have your sim card ejector tool your power adapter so this is a three pin power adapter here in the UK it may be different depending on where you're from there's also your micro USB to USB cable and some HTC earphones these look quite nice I like the red and black that you've got going on here and they come with some different sized earb Birds depending on the size of your ear now let's get straight to the device so we've got it in a bit of plastic here which will take off straight away and there we are presented with the HTC1 M9 it looks very very nice you've got that 5in screen at the front 108p having a closer look around the device at the top side of the front you have your front-facing camera which is 4 megapixels now these are actually Ultra pixels like what we had on the rear facing camera last year and these should really really help in low light for your selfies we'll check that out in the full review there's also some sensors and one part of those stereo boom sound speakers these are also continued over at the bottom so you're going to be getting that front-facing sound which HTC1 devices are famous for there's also the HTC logo along the Bottom now on the left hand side of the device all you have is your sim card tray and in comparison the right hand side of the device does seem a little bit crowded there's the micro SD card tray your volume up and down buttons as well as your power button now the power button has now been moved to the side rather than the top this time which is good but it is right in the middle I mean I would have preferred if they went for something a little bit higher and move the volume buttons on the left hand side that's what we traditionally see on most smartphones but nothing major here at the top there is the infrared Port now this is the only thing that takes over the top at the bottom is the 3.5 mm headphone jack and your micro USB cable and along the back is your 20 megapix rear facing camera now this was the 4 megapix ultra pixels camera that we had previously which wasn't too popular so this will be interesting to see how this camera performs you've also got a dual l D flash a microphone at the top there's nothing else at the bottom other than some text and the HTC logo in the middle now this is where we usually find a back-facing speaker but obviously this has front-facing boom sound speakers now let's go ahead and give this device a first boot straight away to tell you this did take quite a lot of time because after the HDC1 intro screen there was a total of 173 apps that it went through and updated which took a couple of minutes so had to be patient and wait for that then going through all of the different settings there was loads and loads of options here once again it takes a lot of time to get straight to the home screen so this is just something that I'm going to quickly scrip through and then we are finally finally let into the phone now you do have HTC sents here on top of Android lollipop so there we have it the HTC1 M9 I mean straight away this is an absolutely beautiful device you can see yes it does look a lot like the M8 but that's not necessarily A Bad Thing it might be a negative for a few of you do let me know in the comment section below if you do want to see a full Hands-On review of this device as
