recently moved many of them from one storage to another but today i'd like to touch on all of the cars in my current collection and what's going to be their future which ones are keepers which ones will eventually move on what about delivery estimates for the gt black series the hurricane sto and maybe more things into the future as well so we'll go and visit all of the cars that are here starting with the g63 go over to the storage where some of the others are then back home later on and also talk about which cars aren't currently in my possession and why and when we will see them back so there's a lot to run over we'll start with the g then get over to the storage and touch today on all of the schmima wheels firstly a quick update on the g63 before we hop on the move over to the storage and this g-wagon is looking glorious in the sunshine today now i've had it for just under two years that last year has flown by to be honest without doing all that many more miles it now has about 12 000 miles on the clock in total but fundamentally the last year it's not exactly been able to lug any cars around in a trailer behind it across europe and the like but the topaz skin is holding up miraculously this of course was done when it was brand new to match the spec of the cena with the cerulean blue and the satin navy for the bumpers and the various accents even the center locks on the wheel just like on the center as well and this has its own built-in protective layer and as you can see it's very much free of swirl marks looking incredible and after two years with the topaz skin i am really very impressed with the overall result of that something that we can remember if you remember peel off again and take it back to the obsidian black paint work underneath so about 12 000 miles it will be having its second year service the only problem is this that happened of course recently stone ship somewhere here crack all the way top to bottom so i need to get that fixed as soon as i possibly can to get it back on the road properly but let's hop on board and head over then in the g gotta love that mechanical clunk of the doors on the g-wagon so let's get this started let's go then of course in this thing you can pop it up into individual drop down some gears and this car still to this day is one of the most hilarious sounding things in the world while also being a functional g63 and it's serving a lot of purpose moving stuff around from storage um and we'll do of course with the museum very soon too we can have a few words on that anyway we are heading as i said to the new barn where all my cars are temporarily at the moment and we'll run through those the g is parked up and if i can say so myself that is a pretty cool lineup with eight of the schwe mobiles to run through we also will touch later on back at home on the tycan and the gr yaris but i know lots of you have been asking me recently where is the sls black series i'll touch as well on the m3 the plans the gt500 ahead and where the amg gtr roadster is at the moment too plus the plans ahead for the gt black series and the hurricane sto but the eight cars here are giving a bit of a teaser as to what this museum is going to be like i've got a lot of ideas for how things are going to be displayed some in a museum-esque format some in a storage type format but we will get to all of that i want to come right up though to go through the cars that are here at the moment i think we should start with the focus rs heritage now to be completely honest i've not really driven at this car all that much recently it has in total about five and a half thousand miles on the clock of course it is also now about three years old i picked it up i think in september 2018 so we need its third year service and the mot check when we get to september of this year but while i don't drive it all that much it is a very very special car especially the story that connects it to the ford gt and having those two along with the gt500 when that comes over the hot hatch the muscle car and the supercar all together to me is a very very special storyline it's one of only 50 as i'm sure you know the 50 cars linking back to the 1968 escort mark 1 the focus being the spiritual successor to the escorts back in that year in 1968 the btcc was won with an escort mark one in red and gold of alan mann which is why that link is really really quite cool there were 50 of these all in the uk a special option for the uk as a result of the number of sales of the mark iii focus rs over here and now probably the last focus rs which is a strange thing so this i consider a keeper even if i suppose it doesn't make too much sense the gt8 however i'm sure you all know is the absolute keeper of the car collection the car that will never go anywhere having been so involved in the build process of it one of 150 plus the three prototypes as well choosing the specification which is totally unique in the cobalt blue with the golf orange accents parked up here now with the splitters but the combination of the naturally aspirated engine the heavy steering the manual gearbox the rawness the sound the titanium exhaust it's an absolute keeper it always will be i signed on the back of the driver's seat headrest i signed on the chassis on the side still at the door entryway myself as well during that build process and the first time this was ever fired up on the line at the factory in gaydon it was me sitting inside there pressing the ecu into the dashboard so gt8 heritage rs neither of those are ever going anywhere i park them this way around because the orange and the blue and orange given how similar the oranges are actually looks pretty cool i should say about the heritage rs a few changes from standard on mine you'll remember i changed the brake calipers the standard ones are silver i got a second set so i still have the silver ones and the roof is wrapped in the matte black with the shark fin antenna as opposed to being an orange roof you can just remove that down the line as well as the rs badges on the wing small details just to slightly differentiate it but none of which are permanent we then get to the gtr pro which i know a lot of you will be wondering about truth be told i suppose if i already had the gt black series if it arrived on schedule this would probably already have left the garage the pro is one of 750 cars but i think the roadster the pro and the black together doesn't exactly make sense long term it could be fun in the short term but ultimately if an offer was in place for this i think the gtr pro would probably be departing from the garage it is such a cool thing in the diamond white with the piano black stripes that we did over at topaz full ppf obviously on the car but ultimately it doesn't make sense to keep a hold of that one long term now we will move on to some of the keepers but very quickly you will see that all the cars are plugged into their seatec trickle chargers just been running around to make sure all of those are on correctly with the right lights to make sure all of the batteries are keeping conditioned ready for the day when we're going to be taking all of the cars over towards the museum in fact in a moment i'm going to be taking out the center to go for a drive it is a lovely day after all but we have a trio of keepers here 675 lt the cena and the ford gt and talking for gt i think we can call this the ultimate schmie mobile from the memories and adventures the full us tour taking it to sardinia driving it through monaco going around the nurburgring taking it almost to v-max on the autobahn it's done about 7 000 miles i've had this car for two and a half years believe it or not having collected it basically the day before the center but two and a half years has flown by it still looks incredible this was one of the very few cars from the first batch of european deliveries in 2018 they've now started the second batch after a two-year absence and it's great to see some of those cars coming through but one of about 10 to 12 cars delivered here in the uk originally so this is a really special thing of course with the unique distinct look as well the only i believe red and gold one in the world and of course with the special bbs fir wheels as well now one thing i would very much like to talk about which i touched on last time but we've got an update on was to deal with the cost of the car at the service and in particular the confusion with the brake pads and why they were quite so expensive now you might remember i said that i'd taken it for its second year service it had a major overhaul and one thing that they had changed were the brake pads but they had come in at about five and a half thousand pounds eight thousand dollars just for the brake pads and it felt disproportionately expensive the center brake pads cost about four 4000 the lt about 2 000 pounds so this seemed a little bit over the top well it turns out that this has all come down to a fairly simple administrative error now of course you buy brake pads in pairs you always buy a pair for the front and a pair for the back you don't change just a single one and basically two times had been popped in which meant that the real cart charge for the brake pads is about three thousand pounds which is about right and it's a big thanks to ford for spotting that one in fact reaching out and clearing things up and making sure it is all right so i take back what i said about the insanely high cost for the brake pads on the ford gt because they now feel a little bit more normal about where they should be for a car with this level of performance so i'm glad all is sorted out on that front moving on from the gt though to the center as i said literally i collected the center the day after i collected the ford gt it was a mad period at christmas 2018 and what a period it was the cena has done about i think 2 800 miles in total before gt is actually now at 7 000 which i think puts it at one of the highest mileage cars probably in all of europe i didn't talk about the pro that's about two and a half thousand and the gt8 is actually now just through the ten thousand mile mark which is quite cool as well so two thousand eight hundred miles on the center it's not been particularly far and wide but it has been around the nurburgring it's been down to switzerland it's been for some quite fun adventures and outings we can say some very quick runs on the autobahn it stayed with jer collector my friend over in munich for a while and it's again a very iconic car a car that i think the more time goes by the more it solidifies its space as a keeper in the garage a car that i will hold on to and talking about keepers and these two we have also added to the shmi 150 shop the cheers by xmi 150 shop a new design for the keepers which you can check out as well and also some of the other designs that we have available at the moment too now we come to the car that i've owned for the longest my 675lt spyder about to be five years old this car is five years old it's crazy how good it still looks and how i think it's still one of the best cars that mclaren automotive have made after doing a big trip with it down to italy last year it's now done about 17 000 miles in total it will need a service for its fifth year of course the third and fourth year service blip was a bit of a mishap over that uh fourth year of ownership to do with the paint it picked up a new carbon fiber bonnet thanks to the oxidation issues it was having it had a few things cleaned up and tidied in the process which was very nice as well still runs perfectly still runs incredibly and had a great time with it when we took it around europe last summer and certainly going to be keeping a hold of the lt the big question though is whether to renew the extended warranty now this becomes a big deal with some of these cars on a car like the 675 lt i did renew it for the fourth and fifth years to renew it again now for the sixth and seventh years is either if you pay for one year just shy of five thousand pounds or if you pay for two years up front you pay for the two years for eight thousand pounds that's a lot of money when you start doing it for every single car now with the gt8 i haven't taken the fifth year warranty on that car i left it after four years i think it's a pretty reliable car overall and i'm kind of taking the view that if something happens i'll be able to sort it out myself um but it's not very likely to be hugely expensive anyway this is a slightly different topic because mclaren because complicated technology the hydraulic suspension the electronics inside and if something goes wrong it has the potential to be a very big bill very quickly so i need to make a decision on that before it comes time for the fifth year service um in well i guess a month or so now which is kind of crazy and that will actually be quite fun we've got a plan around that so stay tuned for it and what's going to be happening on that front we moved then to the cayman the 718 cayman gt4 one of the newest acquisitions a car that i can tell you right now this won't be a permanent addition in the garage i've talked often about how i would love afterwards to move up into the cayman gt4 rs when that launches i think that would pretty much cement itself instantly because the fun that i had with my original 981 gt4 and what i'm now having with the 718 gt4 it's just a platform that works so brilliantly the combination of engine suspension steering chassis the whole setup is a perfect sweet spot and i can imagine the gt4 rs with even more grip than this thing offers would be incredible so fingers are crossed that i might be able to get an allocation for one of those a little bit down the line i see this lasting in the garage for a while i've done nearly a thousand miles in it already it's a very small very nimble car great for driving around the uk and maybe with the gt4 rs if i go completely mad it would actually be quite fun to pick up a spider as well to have the manual spider and a pdk gt4 rs and you guys know that when i like a car like the focus rs's the amg gts and the 12 c650 675 lt when i like a car i tend to really put my money where my mouth is this is incredible so watch this space for the future i think it should be quite exciting so that's a bit of a rundown of all the cars that we have here we are like i said going to be taking out the center so i think that's going to be the plan for the moment and then a little bit later on we need to run through as well the cars that aren't here where are they and the cars coming in the future first step then is of course to unplug the trickle charger so we open up the nose cone i still need to give it a proper clean underneath here but literally take out the 12 volt plug i'm going to pack this up a little bit more tightly in a moment this is a bit of a nightmare to make sure it's closed because the last thing you want to be driving off with is that open we'll tidy this up then we'll get it started and pull it out this is one of the first times in a very long time that i've been basically for a cruise on the motorway in the uk in the center now last september we took it down to supercarla circle driving about four or five hours and i can tell you on english roads the noise that you have the tire and road noise means that you have to shout in this thing at 70 miles an hour on the motorway it is not a very comfortable cruising car make no mistake about that this is the car for driving when you really want to drive but we're heading actually to go visit somewhere so um basically run up the roadway back today which is still fun but certainly um yeah making me remember why it's not a good car for the boat to play it has been a busy afternoon with all sorts of things going on but before we hop back into the center for the journey back down to base let me run over the four missing schmie mobiles at the moment and where exactly they are so the bmw m3 competition had about 700 miles on it when my dad picked it up the other day he's gonna run it for a little while to get it up to the running in mileage at 1 200 where it gets an oil change service and i'll have it back in time for this museum a car that a lot of you have been asking me about recently the shelby gt500 what's the plan with that given i left it over in miami florida and when are we going to see it here in the uk now i've left this a little bit open in terms of when i will officially import it because to be honest i'm hoping at some point to be able to get back to the us and enjoy it a little bit more as opposed to bringing it straight over i'd rather do that slightly further down the line so at the moment my best guess would probably be maybe christmas time end of the year but we'll see we'll have to see completely how things go maybe i'll keep it there a little bit longer i don't entirely know at this stage now a funny one with the amg gtr roadster on my recent tour around europe with it you will of course have seen that i was having an issue with the deployable front spoiler which comes down when you're driving at faster speeds but unfortunately has had a bit of an issue which has meant that the car had an electronic limiter restricting it to 200 kilometers an hour so about 124 miles per hour which has been moderately annoying to say the least well it turns out today because i dropped it off at service to have that looked into it only needed an update to the software for the front spoiler and all is now fine so the good news is that it is completely fine the bad news is that all it needed was an update and maybe i should have done that a little bit sooner but to be honest i thought that it might need some new parts and well a little bit more of a fix but the good news is that will be back very soon as well i think i'll probably go and pick it up tomorrow in fact the other car which i know a lot of you have been wondering about is what's going on with my sls amg black series we haven't seen it for a long time now before christmas i dropped it off with cambridge car audio to do the upgrade to the audio system which they actually did during december and had it ready the beginning of january by which point i had gone to the us and didn't end up coming back for about four months now at the time to pick it up there was something we needed to install that unfortunately has been on back order since then apart due to the whole supply chain issues at the moment that we have no eta for but it effectively means that the car is slightly disassembled currently in a workshop and well i don't really know when that part is going to arrive so everything can be put back together and ultimately i can collect it but believe me i'm more frustrated than anybody else because i'd love to get the sls black series back especially in time for the delivery of the gt black series which shouldn't be too far away but i don't yet have an estimation on when the car is going to be returning to the garage so that will have to wait for now though let's hop back in the center carry on the journey because i want to tell you well when we get back home about the thai can and the gia yaris but also about the gt black series and the hurricane sto while we're cruising back on the very very very noisy motorways it makes me wonder a little bit about a road trip in a car like this because the longest drive i did was the munich to switzerland run with this the m8 and the sls black series but honestly this car is so noisy fidgety loud and all around mad that you would not want to be in here on a long journey you don't want to do that experience yes but it'd be way better to have a truck to the other end and take an amg or something so i don't see this car ever doing a road trip because yeah it's exhausting it's really hard work back at the storage center parked up it is gonna need to clean though so i'll probably sort that out in the near future but we do need to do a little bit of shuffling i'm not gonna do it right now in order to fit the full 10 cars effectively down this wall as you can see now labeled because this is becoming a storage effectively so i need to do a little bit of pushing them all along and i'm not going to deal with that right now to be completely honest what i will talk about though are the two inbound cars do before long which are of course the amg gt black series that will supersede the pro and the lamborghini hurricane sto now the gt black series as i've said a few times originally i thought would be here at the tail end of last year at the beginning of this year i thought it would be here before i got back from the us probably a month or two ago i thought it was due imminently probably by now and truth be told i think i just need to take a step back wait and see what happens and it will arrive when it arrives because i know there are a lot of part supply issues i don't have a confirmed delivery date you never know maybe it's gonna rock up tomorrow or something but at this moment in time i don't know any more than you guys know i am afraid to say so i could not tell you if it will be a week if it will be a month if it will be three months or if something's gonna make it take even longer than that we just need to wait and see the other car is the lamborghini hurricane sto which does now have a build date which is very exciting because the car should arrive with me before the end of the year hopefully if i'm lucky in november maybe december let's see what happens as we get towards the tail end of the year who knows because the whole world is changing things very thick and fast so i don't want to get too far ahead of myself but those two cars are going to make for a fascinating back-to-back drive gt black series hurricane sto and to be honest probably also the center and a couple of other bits and pieces i'm really really looking forward to that further afield i've expressed interest in a number of cars there are a number of cars as well that might be on order i don't want to say too much and get ahead of myself again because we need to save a few things plus you never know things might change i always like to let you know when something is confirmed but i can give you solid information that is not going to change but some very exciting things are in the works that is all i will say for the time being so we're gonna hop back into the g63 head back onwards home because the last two cars to update with are the tycan and the gi yaris and back with the g now i realized earlier when i was talking about the four cars that aren't here at the moment i didn't say what the future for each of them would be the sls black series permanent keeper of course the gt black series with the color change and the plans i've got in store for that i'm pretty sure it's going to be a keeper then we've also got the gt500 obviously by the time we've brought that over from the us to the uk that is certainly going to be a keeper the m3 won't be around forever i guess it will be a year or two we'll have to wait and see obviously still at the moment very fresh but i don't think it's a permanent car in the garage it's not a limited edition or something like that or a daily driver akin to the g63 or the thai can talking of tycan let's head down probably first to the giaras and then to the thai cab the little rally car toyota's gr yaris now we've had a couple of rounds of modifications from delivery and design at dub customs to the miltek sport exhaust which makes it sound infinitely better and most recently the giacouzo styling kit now i haven't completely gelled with the gi yaris yet i don't have the same connection to it that i did with my previous project car the red edition of the ford focus rs and maybe that's because i had the blue rs for a couple of years then the red with the heritage as well the ford gt inbound whereas this is more its own kind of thing and obviously the way that this year went having collected it at the tail end of last year and then effectively gone away for ages meant that it put a bit of a pause on going about the modifications so it hasn't been exactly what i intended it to be yet now don't get me wrong it is a very fun car but i don't see it as a permanent thing this won't be sticking around forever we'll do more modifications with it hopefully have some good fun getting to drive it out in anger at some point but really just gotta wait and see what happens i don't really have a complete plan with the gi yaris which is moderately unusual to be honest with something like this normally i would know exactly what i'm doing all the way through this one is we'll just go with it we'll go with the flow we'll see what's happening we'll see how much interest there is from you guys as well in what goes on with this and what options there might be with it down the line and for the last we have by far the most controversial car of the bunch the porsche tycan turbo s my first ev sitting here very much waiting to be completed the front end needs to have the design done again over the wing and the front bumper to be wrapped in midnight green and the gold pin stripes as well to go on the carbon fiber part of the front splitter that we had to get replaced after the little incident but of course it's now had enough time for all of the paint to harden back up which is pretty compulsory before you wrap it again if you wrap too quickly when you pull the wrap off you end up damaging the paint and the lacquer on the top of it which is obviously a complete mess so we didn't want to have that and thanks to having been away for a little bit it's had a little bit longer than i originally intended which is to be honest actually a good thing now when i bought this car there were a lot of cries that i wouldn't even be holding on to it for as long as three months well that was over six months ago coming up to seven months and i have to say it is genuinely a really enjoyable car to drive it has well what all uvs have that effortless instant torque feeling it's quiet it's calm but it's also a porsche it's very well equipped it's got a great suspension and ride quality and it's a car that i do genuinely enjoy driving and using as a daily driver it takes a lot of the boxes now i know a lot of people think as a petrol head it is sacrilegious to be driving around in an ev in the first place but whether we like it or not this is being forced upon us particularly here in the uk and it would be foolish in my position not to try and understand and learn about it and try and get an honest experience to share with you of what it's actually like whether that's the frustrations of charges that are out of action or difficult to use or whether that is the very positive side of running a car like this as a daily driver and this in my mind is very much the best ev on the market the tai can turbo s it is by far and away even at this point despite the things that i've had and shared with you guys the first choice for me and it's exactly what i would buy again a car just like this one has done the job very well if i can say that and of course it's going to get easier talking about this museum and moving all of the cars over there that's where i'll have my own dedicated charger i'll be able to keep this up in charge while 80 90 it's not good to keep them at 100 and it's gonna make life so much easier and take away some of those negatives because when i'm there during the day i can top it up and then i can bring it back home it doesn't matter by the time i get back home it will only have lost a couple of percent and then if i need to go anywhere it's all good and all gravy and i'd love to do a road trip with it i don't see it leaving the garage anytime soon certainly not in the next couple of months certainly not in even six months maybe it'll be around for two years maybe it'll be around three years maybe it depends if something else comes along that tickles my fancy to have a go with as well at this point i haven't driven the tycan sport turismo i'd love to give that a go at some point as well to see what that's like although i don't think i would change from tai can i think it would just be a little bit too much of the same kind of thing to be worth doing the swap but i also think it's really important given the direction of the world to share this with you and if i didn't have an ev in the garage i wouldn't personally understand so much and maybe my voice can go some way towards making these things as they need to be to hit these targets that have been presented because i don't think at the moment they are necessarily realistic i think a lot more work needs to be done and perhaps by sharing the real world element and unbiased honest feeling and feedback on what it is like with these things it goes some way towards that the good news though is that this museum is only a couple of weeks away and then all of the cars are going to be moving over to it and this is something i cannot wait for i've been talking about it for way too long but those legendary we will have to see exactly how it goes but for today a bit of a rundown of the current 14 shmee mobiles the two that are confirmed for the future and i'm sure there will be more as well so i hope that's answered all of the questions that you guys have about the whereabouts of some of the others i'll do my best to answer some more in the comments as well but that's it for this time thank and i'll see you very soon cheers youhi guys i'm shmee hello and welcome back to the channel where you join me on a beautiful day for a bit of an update with all of the shmi-mobiles now of course we recently moved many of them from one storage to another but today i'd like to touch on all of the cars in my current collection and what's going to be their future which ones are keepers which ones will eventually move on what about delivery estimates for the gt black series the hurricane sto and maybe more things into the future as well so we'll go and visit all of the cars that are here starting with the g63 go over to the storage where some of the others are then back home later on and also talk about which cars aren't currently in my possession and why and when we will see them back so there's a lot to run over we'll start with the g then get over to the storage and touch today on all of the schmima wheels firstly a quick update on the g63 before we hop on the move over to the storage and this g-wagon is looking glorious in the sunshine today now i've had it for just under two years that last year has flown by to be honest without doing all that many more miles it now has about 12 000 miles on the clock in total but fundamentally the last year it's not exactly been able to lug any cars around in a trailer behind it across europe and the like but the topaz skin is holding up miraculously this of course was done when it was brand new to match the spec of the cena with the cerulean blue and the satin navy for the bumpers and the various accents even the center locks on the wheel just like on the center as well and this has its own built-in protective layer and as you can see it's very much free of swirl marks looking incredible and after two years with the topaz skin i am really very impressed with the overall result of that something that we can remember if you remember peel off again and take it back to the obsidian black paint work underneath so about 12 000 miles it will be having its second year service the only problem is this that happened of course recently stone ship somewhere here crack all the way top to bottom so i need to get that fixed as soon as i possibly can to get it back on the road properly but let's hop on board and head over then in the g gotta love that mechanical clunk of the doors on the g-wagon so let's get this started let's go then of course in this thing you can pop it up into individual drop down some gears and this car still to this day is one of the most hilarious sounding things in the world while also being a functional g63 and it's serving a lot of purpose moving stuff around from storage um and we'll do of course with the museum very soon too we can have a few words on that anyway we are heading as i said to the new barn where all my cars are temporarily at the moment and we'll run through those the g is parked up and if i can say so myself that is a pretty cool lineup with eight of the schwe mobiles to run through we also will touch later on back at home on the tycan and the gr yaris but i know lots of you have been asking me recently where is the sls black series i'll touch as well on the m3 the plans the gt500 ahead and where the amg gtr roadster is at the moment too plus the plans ahead for the gt black series and the hurricane sto but the eight cars here are giving a bit of a teaser as to what this museum is going to be like i've got a lot of ideas for how things are going to be displayed some in a museum-esque format some in a storage type format but we will get to all of that i want to come right up though to go through the cars that are here at the moment i think we should start with the focus rs heritage now to be completely honest i've not really driven at this car all that much recently it has in total about five and a half thousand miles on the clock of course it is also now about three years old i picked it up i think in september 2018 so we need its third year service and the mot check when we get to september of this year but while i don't drive it all that much it is a very very special car especially the story that connects it to the ford gt and having those two along with the gt500 when that comes over the hot hatch the muscle car and the supercar all together to me is a very very special storyline it's one of only 50 as i'm sure you know the 50 cars linking back to the 1968 escort mark 1 the focus being the spiritual successor to the escorts back in that year in 1968 the btcc was won with an escort mark one in red and gold of alan mann which is why that link is really really quite cool there were 50 of these all in the uk a special option for the uk as a result of the number of sales of the mark iii focus rs over here and now probably the last focus rs which is a strange thing so this i consider a keeper even if i suppose it doesn't make too much sense the gt8 however i'm sure you all know is the absolute keeper of the car collection the car that will never go anywhere having been so involved in the build process of it one of 150 plus the three prototypes as well choosing the specification which is totally unique in the cobalt blue with the golf orange accents parked up here now with the splitters but the combination of the naturally aspirated engine the heavy steering the manual gearbox the rawness the sound the titanium exhaust it's an absolute keeper it always will be i signed on the back of the driver's seat headrest i signed on the chassis on the side still at the door entryway myself as well during that build process and the first time this was ever fired up on the line at the factory in gaydon it was me sitting inside there pressing the ecu into the dashboard so gt8 heritage rs neither of those are ever going anywhere i park them this way around because the orange and the blue and orange given how similar the oranges are actually looks pretty cool i should say about the heritage rs a few changes from standard on mine you'll remember i changed the brake calipers the standard ones are silver i got a second set so i still have the silver ones and the roof is wrapped in the matte black with the shark fin antenna as opposed to being an orange roof you can just remove that down the line as well as the rs badges on the wing small details just to slightly differentiate it but none of which are permanent we then get to the gtr pro which i know a lot of you will be wondering about truth be told i suppose if i already had the gt black series if it arrived on schedule this would probably already have left the garage the pro is one of 750 cars but i think the roadster the pro and the black together doesn't exactly make sense long term it could be fun in the short term but ultimately if an offer was in place for this i think the gtr pro would probably be departing from the garage it is such a cool thing in the diamond white with the piano black stripes that we did over at topaz full ppf obviously on the car but ultimately it doesn't make sense to keep a hold of that one long term now we will move on to some of the keepers but very quickly you will see that all the cars are plugged into their seatec trickle chargers just been running around to make sure all of those are on correctly with the right lights to make sure all of the batteries are keeping conditioned ready for the day when we're going to be taking all of the cars over towards the museum in fact in a moment i'm going to be taking out the center to go for a drive it is a lovely day after all but we have a trio of keepers here 675 lt the cena and the ford gt and talking for gt i think we can call this the ultimate schmie mobile from the memories and adventures the full us tour taking it to sardinia driving it through monaco going around the nurburgring taking it almost to v-max on the autobahn it's done about 7 000 miles i've had this car for two and a half years believe it or not having collected it basically the day before the center but two and a half years has flown by it still looks incredible this was one of the very few cars from the first batch of european deliveries in 2018 they've now started the second batch after a two-year absence and it's great to see some of those cars coming through but one of about 10 to 12 cars delivered here in the uk originally so this is a really special thing of course with the unique distinct look as well the only i believe red and gold one in the world and of course with the special bbs fir wheels as well now one thing i would very much like to talk about which i touched on last time but we've got an update on was to deal with the cost of the car at the service and in particular the confusion with the brake pads and why they were quite so expensive now you might remember i said that i'd taken it for its second year service it had a major overhaul and one thing that they had changed were the brake pads but they had come in at about five and a half thousand pounds eight thousand dollars just for the brake pads and it felt disproportionately expensive the center brake pads cost about four 4000 the lt about 2 000 pounds so this seemed a little bit over the top well it turns out that this has all come down to a fairly simple administrative error now of course you buy brake pads in pairs you always buy a pair for the front and a pair for the back you don't change just a single one and basically two times had been popped in which meant that the real cart charge for the brake pads is about three thousand pounds which is about right and it's a big thanks to ford for spotting that one in fact reaching out and clearing things up and making sure it is all right so i take back what i said about the insanely high cost for the brake pads on the ford gt because they now feel a little bit more normal about where they should be for a car with this level of performance so i'm glad all is sorted out on that front moving on from the gt though to the center as i said literally i collected the center the day after i collected the ford gt it was a mad period at christmas 2018 and what a period it was the cena has done about i think 2 800 miles in total before gt is actually now at 7 000 which i think puts it at one of the highest mileage cars probably in all of europe i didn't talk about the pro that's about two and a half thousand and the gt8 is actually now just through the ten thousand mile mark which is quite cool as well so two thousand eight hundred miles on the center it's not been particularly far and wide but it has been around the nurburgring it's been down to switzerland it's been for some quite fun adventures and outings we can say some very quick runs on the autobahn it stayed with jer collector my friend over in munich for a while and it's again a very iconic car a car that i think the more time goes by the more it solidifies its space as a keeper in the garage a car that i will hold on to and talking about keepers and these two we have also added to the shmi 150 shop the cheers by xmi 150 shop a new design for the keepers which you can check out as well and also some of the other designs that we have available at the moment too now we come to the car that i've owned for the longest my 675lt spyder about to be five years old this car is five years old it's crazy how good it still looks and how i think it's still one of the best cars that mclaren automotive have made after doing a big trip with it down to italy last year it's now done about 17 000 miles in total it will need a service for its fifth year of course the third and fourth year service blip was a bit of a mishap over that uh fourth year of ownership to do with the paint it picked up a new carbon fiber bonnet thanks to the oxidation issues it was having it had a few things cleaned up and tidied in the process which was very nice as well still runs perfectly still runs incredibly and had a great time with it when we took it around europe last summer and certainly going to be keeping a hold of the lt the big question though is whether to renew the extended warranty now this becomes a big deal with some of these cars on a car like the 675 lt i did renew it for the fourth and fifth years to renew it again now for the sixth and seventh years is either if you pay for one year just shy of five thousand pounds or if you pay for two years up front you pay for the two years for eight thousand pounds that's a lot of money when you start doing it for every single car now with the gt8 i haven't taken the fifth year warranty on that car i left it after four years i think it's a pretty reliable car overall and i'm kind of taking the view that if something happens i'll be able to sort it out myself um but it's not very likely to be hugely expensive anyway this is a slightly different topic because mclaren because complicated technology the hydraulic suspension the electronics inside and if something goes wrong it has the potential to be a very big bill very quickly so i need to make a decision on that before it comes time for the fifth year service um in well i guess a month or so now which is kind of crazy and that will actually be quite fun we've got a plan around that so stay tuned for it and what's going to be happening on that front we moved then to the cayman the 718 cayman gt4 one of the newest acquisitions a car that i can tell you right now this won't be a permanent addition in the garage i've talked often about how i would love afterwards to move up into the cayman gt4 rs when that launches i think that would pretty much cement itself instantly because the fun that i had with my original 981 gt4 and what i'm now having with the 718 gt4 it's just a platform that works so brilliantly the combination of engine suspension steering chassis the whole setup is a perfect sweet spot and i can imagine the gt4 rs with even more grip than this thing offers would be incredible so fingers are crossed that i might be able to get an allocation for one of those a little bit down the line i see this lasting in the garage for a while i've done nearly a thousand miles in it already it's a very small very nimble car great for driving around the uk and maybe with the gt4 rs if i go completely mad it would actually be quite fun to pick up a spider as well to have the manual spider and a pdk gt4 rs and you guys know that when i like a car like the focus rs's the amg gts and the 12 c650 675 lt when i like a car i tend to really put my money where my mouth is this is incredible so watch this space for the future i think it should be quite exciting so that's a bit of a rundown of all the cars that we have here we are like i said going to be taking out the center so i think that's going to be the plan for the moment and then a little bit later on we need to run through as well the cars that aren't here where are they and the cars coming in the future first step then is of course to unplug the trickle charger so we open up the nose cone i still need to give it a proper clean underneath here but literally take out the 12 volt plug i'm going to pack this up a little bit more tightly in a moment this is a bit of a nightmare to make sure it's closed because the last thing you want to be driving off with is that open we'll tidy this up then we'll get it started and pull it out this is one of the first times in a very long time that i've been basically for a cruise on the motorway in the uk in the center now last september we took it down to supercarla circle driving about four or five hours and i can tell you on english roads the noise that you have the tire and road noise means that you have to shout in this thing at 70 miles an hour on the motorway it is not a very comfortable cruising car make no mistake about that this is the car for driving when you really want to drive but we're heading actually to go visit somewhere so um basically run up the roadway back today which is still fun but certainly um yeah making me remember why it's not a good car for the boat to play it has been a busy afternoon with all sorts of things going on but before we hop back into the center for the journey back down to base let me run over the four missing schmie mobiles at the moment and where exactly they are so the bmw m3 competition had about 700 miles on it when my dad picked it up the other day he's gonna run it for a little while to get it up to the running in mileage at 1 200 where it gets an oil change service and i'll have it back in time for this museum a car that a lot of you have been asking me about recently the shelby gt500 what's the plan with that given i left it over in miami florida and when are we going to see it here in the uk now i've left this a little bit open in terms of when i will officially import it because to be honest i'm hoping at some point to be able to get back to the us and enjoy it a little bit more as opposed to bringing it straight over i'd rather do that slightly further down the line so at the moment my best guess would probably be maybe christmas time end of the year but we'll see we'll have to see completely how things go maybe i'll keep it there a little bit longer i don't entirely know at this stage now a funny one with the amg gtr roadster on my recent tour around europe with it you will of course have seen that i was having an issue with the deployable front spoiler which comes down when you're driving at faster speeds but unfortunately has had a bit of an issue which has meant that the car had an electronic limiter restricting it to 200 kilometers an hour so about 124 miles per hour which has been moderately annoying to say the least well it turns out today because i dropped it off at service to have that looked into it only needed an update to the software for the front spoiler and all is now fine so the good news is that it is completely fine the bad news is that all it needed was an update and maybe i should have done that a little bit sooner but to be honest i thought that it might need some new parts and well a little bit more of a fix but the good news is that will be back very soon as well i think i'll probably go and pick it up tomorrow in fact the other car which i know a lot of you have been wondering about is what's going on with my sls amg black series we haven't seen it for a long time now before christmas i dropped it off with cambridge car audio to do the upgrade to the audio system which they actually did during december and had it ready the beginning of january by which point i had gone to the us and didn't end up coming back for about four months now at the time to pick it up there was something we needed to install that unfortunately has been on back order since then apart due to the whole supply chain issues at the moment that we have no eta for but it effectively means that the car is slightly disassembled currently in a workshop and well i don't really know when that part is going to arrive so everything can be put back together and ultimately i can collect it but believe me i'm more frustrated than anybody else because i'd love to get the sls black series back especially in time for the delivery of the gt black series which shouldn't be too far away but i don't yet have an estimation on when the car is going to be returning to the garage so that will have to wait for now though let's hop back in the center carry on the journey because i want to tell you well when we get back home about the thai can and the gia yaris but also about the gt black series and the hurricane sto while we're cruising back on the very very very noisy motorways it makes me wonder a little bit about a road trip in a car like this because the longest drive i did was the munich to switzerland run with this the m8 and the sls black series but honestly this car is so noisy fidgety loud and all around mad that you would not want to be in here on a long journey you don't want to do that experience yes but it'd be way better to have a truck to the other end and take an amg or something so i don't see this car ever doing a road trip because yeah it's exhausting it's really hard work back at the storage center parked up it is gonna need to clean though so i'll probably sort that out in the near future but we do need to do a little bit of shuffling i'm not gonna do it right now in order to fit the full 10 cars effectively down this wall as you can see now labeled because this is becoming a storage effectively so i need to do a little bit of pushing them all along and i'm not going to deal with that right now to be completely honest what i will talk about though are the two inbound cars do before long which are of course the amg gt black series that will supersede the pro and the lamborghini hurricane sto now the gt black series as i've said a few times originally i thought would be here at the tail end of last year at the beginning of this year i thought it would be here before i got back from the us probably a month or two ago i thought it was due imminently probably by now and truth be told i think i just need to take a step back wait and see what happens and it will arrive when it arrives because i know there are a lot of part supply issues i don't have a confirmed delivery date you never know maybe it's gonna rock up tomorrow or something but at this moment in time i don't know any more than you guys know i am afraid to say so i could not tell you if it will be a week if it will be a month if it will be three months or if something's gonna make it take even longer than that we just need to wait and see the other car is the lamborghini hurricane sto which does now have a build date which is very exciting because the car should arrive with me before the end of the year hopefully if i'm lucky in november maybe december let's see what happens as we get towards the tail end of the year who knows because the whole world is changing things very thick and fast so i don't want to get too far ahead of myself but those two cars are going to make for a fascinating back-to-back drive gt black series hurricane sto and to be honest probably also the center and a couple of other bits and pieces i'm really really looking forward to that further afield i've expressed interest in a number of cars there are a number of cars as well that might be on order i don't want to say too much and get ahead of myself again because we need to save a few things plus you never know things might change i always like to let you know when something is confirmed but i can give you solid information that is not going to change but some very exciting things are in the works that is all i will say for the time being so we're gonna hop back into the g63 head back onwards home because the last two cars to update with are the tycan and the gi yaris and back with the g now i realized earlier when i was talking about the four cars that aren't here at the moment i didn't say what the future for each of them would be the sls black series permanent keeper of course the gt black series with the color change and the plans i've got in store for that i'm pretty sure it's going to be a keeper then we've also got the gt500 obviously by the time we've brought that over from the us to the uk that is certainly going to be a keeper the m3 won't be around forever i guess it will be a year or two we'll have to wait and see obviously still at the moment very fresh but i don't think it's a permanent car in the garage it's not a limited edition or something like that or a daily driver akin to the g63 or the thai can talking of tycan let's head down probably first to the giaras and then to the thai cab the little rally car toyota's gr yaris now we've had a couple of rounds of modifications from delivery and design at dub customs to the miltek sport exhaust which makes it sound infinitely better and most recently the giacouzo styling kit now i haven't completely gelled with the gi yaris yet i don't have the same connection to it that i did with my previous project car the red edition of the ford focus rs and maybe that's because i had the blue rs for a couple of years then the red with the heritage as well the ford gt inbound whereas this is more its own kind of thing and obviously the way that this year went having collected it at the tail end of last year and then effectively gone away for ages meant that it put a bit of a pause on going about the modifications so it hasn't been exactly what i intended it to be yet now don't get me wrong it is a very fun car but i don't see it as a permanent thing this won't be sticking around forever we'll do more modifications with it hopefully have some good fun getting to drive it out in anger at some point but really just gotta wait and see what happens i don't really have a complete plan with the gi yaris which is moderately unusual to be honest with something like this normally i would know exactly what i'm doing all the way through this one is we'll just go with it we'll go with the flow we'll see what's happening we'll see how much interest there is from you guys as well in what goes on with this and what options there might be with it down the line and for the last we have by far the most controversial car of the bunch the porsche tycan turbo s my first ev sitting here very much waiting to be completed the front end needs to have the design done again over the wing and the front bumper to be wrapped in midnight green and the gold pin stripes as well to go on the carbon fiber part of the front splitter that we had to get replaced after the little incident but of course it's now had enough time for all of the paint to harden back up which is pretty compulsory before you wrap it again if you wrap too quickly when you pull the wrap off you end up damaging the paint and the lacquer on the top of it which is obviously a complete mess so we didn't want to have that and thanks to having been away for a little bit it's had a little bit longer than i originally intended which is to be honest actually a good thing now when i bought this car there were a lot of cries that i wouldn't even be holding on to it for as long as three months well that was over six months ago coming up to seven months and i have to say it is genuinely a really enjoyable car to drive it has well what all uvs have that effortless instant torque feeling it's quiet it's calm but it's also a porsche it's very well equipped it's got a great suspension and ride quality and it's a car that i do genuinely enjoy driving and using as a daily driver it takes a lot of the boxes now i know a lot of people think as a petrol head it is sacrilegious to be driving around in an ev in the first place but whether we like it or not this is being forced upon us particularly here in the uk and it would be foolish in my position not to try and understand and learn about it and try and get an honest experience to share with you of what it's actually like whether that's the frustrations of charges that are out of action or difficult to use or whether that is the very positive side of running a car like this as a daily driver and this in my mind is very much the best ev on the market the tai can turbo s it is by far and away even at this point despite the things that i've had and shared with you guys the first choice for me and it's exactly what i would buy again a car just like this one has done the job very well if i can say that and of course it's going to get easier talking about this museum and moving all of the cars over there that's where i'll have my own dedicated charger i'll be able to keep this up in charge while 80 90 it's not good to keep them at 100 and it's gonna make life so much easier and take away some of those negatives because when i'm there during the day i can top it up and then i can bring it back home it doesn't matter by the time i get back home it will only have lost a couple of percent and then if i need to go anywhere it's all good and all gravy and i'd love to do a road trip with it i don't see it leaving the garage anytime soon certainly not in the next couple of months certainly not in even six months maybe it'll be around for two years maybe it'll be around three years maybe it depends if something else comes along that tickles my fancy to have a go with as well at this point i haven't driven the tycan sport turismo i'd love to give that a go at some point as well to see what that's like although i don't think i would change from tai can i think it would just be a little bit too much of the same kind of thing to be worth doing the swap but i also think it's really important given the direction of the world to share this with you and if i didn't have an ev in the garage i wouldn't personally understand so much and maybe my voice can go some way towards making these things as they need to be to hit these targets that have been presented because i don't think at the moment they are necessarily realistic i think a lot more work needs to be done and perhaps by sharing the real world element and unbiased honest feeling and feedback on what it is like with these things it goes some way towards that the good news though is that this museum is only a couple of weeks away and then all of the cars are going to be moving over to it and this is something i cannot wait for i've been talking about it for way too long but those
