iOS 8.2 Jailbreak & iOS 8.3 Jailbreak Update 3 - Taig Release Date

The Joys of iOS 8.3: Why Not a Jailbreak?

I'm running iOS 8.3 on this guy right here, and I have to say, it's got some really cool features like new emojis with different skin tone colors, a new menu for them too, and a plethora of bug fixes. But you know what would be even cooler? A jailbreak! Why not release a jailbreak for iOS 8.3, right? It makes sense that they would want to support the latest firmware, but I guess that's just speculation at this point.

The Tai Jailbreak Team: Will We See a Release?

Comics in a tweet didn't say anything about a jailbreak release today, but who knows? Maybe it will happen soon. The Tai jailbreak team hasn't made any official announcements, so we'll just have to wait and see. But I still have hope that we'll see an 8.2 jailbreak released, maybe even on iOS 8.3. After all, there's always another firmware ahead of it, might as well enjoy the one we have right now.

Preparing Your Device for the Future

If you haven't already, make sure to save your shsh blobs on the current iOS 8.2 and iOS 8.2 jailbroken devices in Cydia. To do this, search for "Apple File Conduit 2" in Cydia and install it. This is a crucial step in the shsh process, even if you're not currently jailbroken. In the future, if an 8.3 update comes out but only supports 8.2, having your shsh blobs saved will give you the option to downgrade to that firmware.

Saving Your Shsh Blobs

To start this process, download and install Tiny Umbrella. You can find tutorial and download links below. Right-click on the downloaded file (on a Mac) or run it with administrator rights (on Windows). If you're jailbroken, right-click on your connected device and select "Fetch iOS Device." If you get an error message, simply unplug and replug your device, then try again.

The Importance of Saving Your Shsh Blobs

If you're not currently jailbroken, saving your shsh blobs is still important. It provides security in case a future version of the firmware needs to be released, but there's no way to downgrade to those shsh files at the moment. However, it's likely that this will change in the future, and having your shsh blobs saved now will give you peace of mind.

A Word from the Author

Unfortunately, we didn't get a jailbreak release today, but I'm still holding out hope that we'll see one soon. Maybe on iOS 8.2, maybe on iOS 8.3. The Tai jailbreak team works hard to bring us these tools, and I appreciate their efforts. If you're like me, stuck with an outdated firmware, keep your fingers crossed and stay tuned for updates.
