**A Comprehensive Comparison of the Huawei P30 Pro and Samsung S10+**
In the world of smartphones, it's always exciting to see new devices launched with impressive features and specifications. Two such devices that have caught our attention are the Huawei P30 Pro and the Samsung S10+. While both phones share some similarities, they also have some notable differences that set them apart from each other. In this article, we'll delve into a detailed comparison of these two smartphones to help you decide which one is best for your needs.
**Optical Zoom: A Game-Changer**
One of the standout features of the Huawei P30 Pro is its optical zoom. Unlike the Samsung S10+, which offers only 2x optical zoom, the P30 Pro boasts up to five times optical zoom. This means that you can get much closer to your subject without having to crop it in post-processing. The P30 Pro's camera system also features a time-of-flight camera, which helps with depth information. In my experience, this feature works incredibly well and provides stunning results.
**Four Cameras: A Camera Lover's Dream**
The Huawei P30 Pro has four cameras in total, including a 32-megapixel front-facing camera. While the Samsung S10+ also has multiple cameras, its setup is slightly different. The S10+ has two front-facing cameras, one with 10 megapixels and the other with 8 megapixels. However, the S10+ can record up to UHD 4K from its front-facing camera, which is a notable advantage over the P30 Pro.
**Fingerprint Scanners: A Matter of Accuracy**
Both devices feature in-display fingerprint scanners, but they differ in terms of technology used. The Huawei P30 Pro uses an optical fingerprint scanner, while the Samsung S10+ has an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. In my brief testing with the P30 Pro, I found that it improved compared to its predecessor on the Mate 20 Pro. However, I'd love to compare them side-by-side to see which one is more accurate and reliable.
**Audio: A Different Experience**
The Samsung S10+ offers a 3.5mm jack, as well as stereo speakers, which provide an immersive audio experience. Unfortunately, the Huawei P30 Pro lacks both of these features, instead relying on tiny vibrations in the screen to simulate sound for calls. While this is convenient, it's not ideal for music enthusiasts.
**Batteries: A Powerhouse**
Both devices have large batteries that provide all-day battery life. The P30 Pro has a slightly larger battery than the S10+, and both support fast charging and wireless charging. However, I'm not sure of the speed of the P30 Pro yet, as I've only done some preliminary testing with the S10+. I'd love to do more tests on my full review to confirm this.
**Pricing: A Tale of Two Devices**
Interestingly, both devices start at the same price point, around £900 for the base 128GB model. This makes them very comparable in terms of pricing. However, when it comes to overall value, there are some significant differences between the two phones. So, which one will you be choosing? The answer depends on your priorities and preferences.
In conclusion, both the Huawei P30 Pro and Samsung S10+ are excellent smartphones with impressive features and specifications. While they share some similarities, they also have some notable differences that set them apart from each other. Whether you're looking for better display quality, more camera options, or a faster fingerprint scanner, there's a phone on this list that's right for you.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: en- The big phone battle is gettingmore and more interesting. We had the S10+ a few weeks ago,and now we've got the Huawei P30 Pro.How do these compare, well let's break downall the key differences SuperSaf style. Now initially, starting offwith the build and design, both of these have asurprisingly similar build, and that is a metal frame withcurved glass panels on the front and back. Now this was a design thatwas originally introducedwith earlier Samsung devices, and it's something thatHuawei have been doingsince the Mate 20 Pro,and in my opinion it doeslook very very sleek, makes the devices a littlebit easier to fit in the hand. Both devices are also IP68water and dust resistant, and we've got plenty of color options. We've actually got a few morecolor options on the S10+compared to the P30 Pro, andI don't think you're going tohave any problems findingthe right color for you.Now the S10+ does comein two ceramic optionsceramic black and ceramic white, these are going to be alittle bit more durable, these are options that youdon't have on the P30 Pro.Now for the displays, we've gotvery large displays on both devices, and they're also verysimilar in terms of the size. The S10+ however, has a punchoutfor the front-facing cameras, the P30 Pro has a notchit's a dewdrop notch, it's quite small, but we do have this difference here. This is going to come downto your personal preference, what do you prefer, a dewdrop notch,or do you prefer the punchout, let me know in the comments below. However the S10+ does geta few solid advantages, and that's firstly because itdoes have a higher resolutionwe've got Quad HD+, versusFull HD+ on the P30 Proand it also supports HDR10+,so it's a very very gooddisplay, I'd say the S10+ is probablythe best in the market right now.Now let's look at the internals. The P30 Pro comes withHuawei's Kirin 980 processor, the S10+ comes with eitherthe Qualcomm Snapdragon 855or the Samsung Exynos 9820,now this is going to dependon your region, whichversion of these you get,I've been testing both ofthese out and I'll be coveringmy experience in my full reviewwhich will be coming soon.If you want to see thatfirst then make sure you havesubscribed, and hit that bellicon so you don't miss it.Performance wise, bothof these are going to bevery very good, I don'tthink you're going tohave problems with either of these, one thing however you are going to have tobear in mind is thedifferences in software.Although both of these arerunning on Android Pie,you do have differentskins, so you've got OneUIon the S10+, the P30 Pro has EMUI.Now which one of these is betterfor you is going to come downto your personal preference,I'd advise tryingthem both out, and seeingwhich one you like more. Now when it comes to RAM, both deviceshave a base of eight gigabytes, but the S10+ is availablein a 12 gigabyte of RAM version as well. And storage both alsostarts at 128 gigabytes, the P30 Pro maxes out ata 512 gigabyte option, but with the S10+ you canget up to one terabyte, now that's absolutelyinsane on a smartphone, both devices also haveexpandable storage, howeveryou've got a Nano SD cardon the P30 Pro whereason the S10+ you have a moretraditional microSD card slot,so that is going to be easierto buy and it's going tobe cheaper to buy as wellcompared to the Nano SD card. Now let's talk about the cameras. This is where things getreally really interesting. So the S10+ has a triplerear-facing camera setupand it's been really reallygood in my experience so far, you've got a primary wide-anglecamera, 12 megapixels, and this has a variableaperture so it's going to switchbetween f/1.5 and f/2.4 depending onthe amount of light in yourscene, there's an ultra-widecamera which is 16 megapixelswith an f/2.2 apertureand that also works really well, and then you've got a telephoto camera, which is going to give youtwo times optical zoom. Now the P30 Pro has a similar setup, but takes things a little further as well.So the primary camera is 40megapixels, and while theycall this a SuperSpectrumcamera, and that's becauseinstead of your standardRGB which you find on mostsmartphone sensors, thishas red, yellow, and blueand apparently this is goingto let in a lot more light. In addition to that you'vegot a 20 megapixel ultra-widecamera which has anf/2.2 aperture, but thenthe telephoto camera isvery interesting, becauseunlike the S10+ which givesyou two times optical zoom, you do have up to five timesoptical zoom on the P30 Prowhich is absolutelyinsane, it also has up toten times hybrid zoom, and in my experienceit does seem to work really really well. Now it doesn't stopthere, because you've gotfour cameras in total, there's alsoa time-of-flight camera, this is going to help withdepth information, solots of cameras here,of course we're going to haveto put these side-by-sideSuperSaf style to see which one of theseis better overall, definitely let me knowif you want to see one of those, and I'll try to get on tothat as soon as possible. Now when it comes to thefront-facing cameras, the P30 Pro has a 32megapixel front-facing camera, the S10+ has two front-facingcameras, one of themis ten megapixels, and theother is eight megapixels, but this is going to beused for depth information. Now we are, once again, going tohave to put these side-by-sideto see what the differencesare, the S10+ can recordup to UHD 4K from thefront-facing camera, this issomething that not manyother smartphones can do,so this is one advantagethat you got in the S10+.Now when it comes to thefingerprint scanners, both devices have anin-display fingerprint scanner. You've got an optical fingerprint scannerhowever on the P30 Pro, and you've anultrasonic fingerprintscanner on the S10+.Now in my experience, theultrasonic fingerprint scannerhas traditionally been betterthan optical fingerprintscanners, it's more accurateand more reliable, but,I have had brief testingwith the P30 Pro andit does seem to havebeen improved compared tothe previous generation thatwe had on the Mate 20 Pro.Definitely let me know if you want meto do a comparison betweenthe two fingerprint scannersto see which one is morefaster and more reliable. For the audio, the S10+ doeshave firstly a 3.5mm jack,as well as stereo speakers, these are things thatwe unfortunately don'thave on the P30 Pro,no 3.5mm jack, and we've got asingle bottom-firing speaker. So how do you make calls, well instead of the earpiece, the screen actually makestiny vibrations which isgoing to give you moreisolated sound compared tothe standard earpieceon the S10+, but that isat the expense of losingthat stereo speakerexperience when you are consuming media. Now for the batteries, we'vegot very large batterieson both devices, theP30 Pro does comes witha slightly larger battery, and we've also gotfaster charging on the P30 Pro,Huawei's SuperCharge 40 watts, and that's going to give youup to 70 percent in just 30 minutes. This is not the case with theS10+, it is going to take youlonger, although you do get afast charger out of the box. Both devices also supportwireless charging which is great, and they also supportwireless reverse charging, this is where you can use the devicesto charge other Qi enabled devices, you could kind of like, charge each other as well. Now I'm not sure of thespeed of the P30 Pro as yet,I did do a speed test forwireless reverse chargingof the S10+ versus the Huawei Mate 20 Pro,and the S10+ was twice as fast. Now I'm not sure if this hasbeen increased on the P30 Probut I will definitely be doingsome more tests on my full review. Finally, looking at thepricing, both devicesactually start at the sameprice, around 900 poundsfor the base 128 gigabytemodel, so they are very verycomparable, if you'relooking for a new smartphone, which one of these will you be going for?Well, there's advantages anddisadvantages on both sides, you are going to be gettingoverall I'd say a better displayon the S10+, but youare going to be gettingmore camera options on the P30 Pro.Which one of these would you go for?Definitely let me knowin the comments below, and if you want to seemore detailed comparisonsbetween the P30 Pro and other devices, then be sure to subscribeand hit that bell icon,of course we're going to be havinglots more content coming up on here,I hope you enjoyed thisvideo and
