MID-WEEK 180 - BMW up their EV game _ Awesome Lando !

**Midweek 180**

I'm here to start my timer, and I shall begin by congratulating last week's leader of the pack, Simon W. Congratulations, sir! You joined in the famous Five with Ginger Barry Francois G Ben Higginson and Andrew Lord. Whoever puts the first comment this week will be my leader of the pack next week, and the first five comments will be in my Famous Five. Now, where are you, and what's on your mind? Slightly different this week, I wanted to give a big shout-out to Amanda Jane AJ who's in hospital not very well at the moment. All of us peddlers send you all our very best. Please get well soon, AJ! Hope you're gonna be okay.

**The Cruise Control Conundrum**

Last week's question was about cruise control. There were a few people who said they hate it – "it's the devil incarnate." But most people used it a lot. I think the majority of people use it in measured mile speed cameras through roadworks to protect their license. Yeah, big fans of cruise control! So, this week's question: what are your thoughts on basically the gadget on modern cars that I hate the most – lane departure warning? I hate lane departure warning. I cannot see the point of it. I would love to know what you think. Do you like it? Do you use it? What do you think about it?

**F1 News**

Oh, and oh, the F1 news! For the weekend, it's the Styrian Grand Prix. Well, all I need to say is that Hamilton's qualifying lap was sensational – 1.2 seconds faster than anybody else. Absolutely incredible! That and a pretty good race... Ferrari having a total nightmare... But Lando Norris came on last two laps for Lando Norris with just mega, and he's third in the championship now! It's just brilliant, brilliant news for McLaren. So tough for him. Very quickly, brief news on new cars – this is the new BMW iX3, which is their BMW's first fully electric X model. They're doing a FEV petrol and diesel version of it as well. Some really interesting electrical technology in the car. Not out until 2021, but it includes some really cool stuff around fast charging, too.

**Electric Vehicles**

While we're talking about electrical... Tomorrow night's Vintage Voltage is one of my favorite episodes to make! I'm gonna stop the clock, and we'll show you the trailer. Stop the clock! Octopus Energy proudly sponsors Vintage Voltage this time on Vintage Voltage. Moggy has a huge business opportunity this development project – we've got to get right! Pedro tries to get to Hamburg on electric power so... The last hour probably has been a little bit more tense than I'd like, and Tony has a headache with a slinky speedster... I think we're gonna have to work out a new way of getting these batteries in. A great day from hell so far might be...

**Top Gear**

I liked the Chessel Speedster and the reason I liked it is part of the show – I was challenged by Moggy and the team to drive an electric car all the way to Hamburg to pick up the gearbox for the Chessel. We did basically took four days of filming to do what was on the show, maybe a minute and a half to two minutes but... It was really Top Gear-esque! It was a brilliant, brilliant adventure, so yeah, it must be tune-in tomorrow night!

**Living with Video**

For Monday Night's video already... and then this Friday's video at six is the Audi RS Q3 – Audi's hidden gem. So, I try and see how much stuff I can get in it – I drive it down here to Mevagisi so... I do two long runs, a fuel run, and an out of time. And uh, drive it in RS mode, and don't care about fuel... Brilliant car! Dare I say, I think it's one of the best Audis I've ever driven – maybe my favorite Audi to drive! So, yeah, you need to tune in!

**Conclusion**

That's all for this week, folks. If you have enjoyed this episode, please give me a thumbs up! Comments below are always welcome, and if you haven't done so already, please subscribe to Petrapet for plenty more content to come! Make sure to tune in to Vintage Voltage tomorrow night on Quest, and I'll see you on the next video – which is this Friday at 6 p.m. for the Audi RS Q3 one of the best outlets I've ever driven. Take care, drive safe!
