LIFX Z Experience Light Strips Setup_Impressions! (MAKE ANYTHING LOOK AWESOME!)

**My Experience with Lifx Z Strips: A Review**

I recently had the opportunity to try out the Lifx Z Strips, and I must say that they have been a game-changer for my video production needs. As someone who spends a lot of time making videos, I'm always on the lookout for ways to improve the lighting and overall aesthetic of my content. The Lifx Z Strips have definitely delivered in this regard.

One of the things that stood out to me about these lights is how much brighter they are than other LED light strips I've used in the past. They're like a day-night difference, as I like to say. When I'm filming with my TV on, it's incredibly bright and well-lit, but when I turn it off, there's still a noticeable brightness that comes from the lights. This is especially useful for me because I often film in front of a white or light-colored background, and these lights really help to create a more visually appealing atmosphere.

Another feature that I appreciate about the Lifx Z Strips is how easy they are to control. Using the app, you can change the color and brightness of the lights to suit your needs. This is especially useful if you're filming in a specific mood or style. For example, if you want to create a warm and cozy atmosphere, you can use the "warm white" setting, while if you want something more vibrant and energetic, you can switch to a brighter color like red or blue.

One thing that I did notice when trying out these lights was that they don't come with three power bricks in the starter kit. Instead, there's only one power brick included, which is understandable given the relatively affordable price point of the product. However, this does mean that you'll need to purchase another starter kit if you want to use all three strips at once. This wasn't a major issue for me, as I tend to use my lights in different locations throughout my home office and studio, but it's something to be aware of.

I also reached out to the Lifx customer support team to ask a few questions about the product, including how long they're expected to last. The response was reassuring: the company estimates that these lights will last around 22 years, which is an incredibly long lifespan for an LED light strip. This level of durability is definitely a major plus for me, as I don't want to have to worry about replacing my lighting every few years.

**A Closer Look at My Experience**

In terms of usage, I've been using the Lifx Z Strips on a daily basis in front of my TV while watching videos or streaming content. It's amazing how much more visible I am when these lights are turned on, and it's really helped to elevate the overall quality of my footage. One thing that's worth noting is that I'm sitting directly next to the TV, so the light has to be bright enough to penetrate through the screen and hit me from a certain angle. However, this isn't always the case for everyone - if you're filming in a different location or with different lighting conditions, these lights may not have the same level of impact.

Overall, I'm really impressed with the Lifx Z Strips, and I think they're definitely worth considering for anyone who needs to improve their home office or studio lighting. While there are some minor quirks and caveats, the benefits far outweigh the drawbacks, and I'd highly recommend them to anyone in need of a reliable and versatile lighting solution.

**Conclusion**

If you're looking to upgrade your home office or studio lighting, look no further than the Lifx Z Strips. These lights have been a game-changer for me, providing a level of brightness and control that's hard to match with other LED light strips on the market. While there are some minor caveats and limitations to be aware of, I think these lights are well worth the investment - especially if you're looking to create high-quality video content or simply want to improve the overall ambiance of your workspace.

As for the price point, $100 is definitely an investment, but I think it's one that's well worth considering. Not only do these lights provide a level of brightness and control that's hard to match with other products on the market, but they also offer a level of flexibility and customization that's unmatched by many other lighting solutions. Whether you're a professional videographer or simply someone who wants to improve their home office lighting, I think the Lifx Z Strips are definitely worth considering.

**Follow-up Questions from Lifx Customer Support**

As part of my testing process, I reached out to the Lifx customer support team with a few questions about the product. Here's what they had to say:

* **How long do these light strips last?**

* "We estimate that our light strips will last around 22 years."

* **Do you sell power packs or additional power bricks separately?**

* "Unfortunately, no - we only include one power brick in the starter kit. However, we offer a range of accessories and replacement parts to help keep your lights running smoothly."

Overall, I'm really impressed with the Lifx Z Strips, and I think they're definitely worth considering for anyone who needs to improve their home office or studio lighting.

you're going to have some tape so all right so now that we finally have all the tapes out we can finally slide this out yes kind of remind me of like an apple presentation okay first up you have your books I don't think we need this um all you got to do plug this in connect it to Wi-Fi using the app and you should be all right trust me I saw a bunch of Life x videos and I want to make this one the all-in-one video the best this should be your only video This Is How They look okay very very nice let me see how long they are all right they they they okay length see what else is inside the Box very very nice presentation man so you have another one you have your your power so it's going to come with like a little clip so if you're in the US you can just put the US um plug in there if you from a different you know country or something then you can swap it out like that okay this is two all right so one two three strips and last but not least if I can get this out presentation is very very nice on this man I got to give it up for lifx for this one and no Hub man this is why I like lifx uh right now the lighting that you guys are seeing right now is my lifx bulb very very bright this is lighting the whole entire video so yeah I definitely do like lifx bulbs so I definitely recommend them and I want to see how the the strips is going to perform is it in there we go it's been a little bit longer than I thought with it all right so you have your you know 3M tape so you can put this on your TV if you want you may as well undo these you have the clip so basically you're going to plug it in to the power and that's it um so I'mma set it up on my TV and what I'm going to do is I'm going put it on the back of my TV so I'mma set it up I'll pause the video cuz this is going to be a process I got to move all these boxes I got to move mad stuff so I'll be right back all right so basically you see these little holes you got to take the other end of this of maybe if you're extra strip and you just simply plug it in all right so once you plug all your strips in you got to take the other end right oh wrong side you got to take the male part and you just plug it into the female power part so yeah so you just plug it into the to the female part and you just simply plug it into your wall that's it that's all I'm doing right now I got to figure out how I'm going to put the strips behind the TV keep in mind this is a smooth back depending on your TV if you have like a texture back it you might have a little hard time so you might need to you know install some crazy glue put some Scotch tape all righty guys so literally an hour later I finally set it up before you guys even get these make sure you guys plan out your setup because it's going to take you a while um so you guys can see I just used the pip I was thinking about using crazy glue but everything is on there pretty nice it's not straight at all it's not perfect but I definitely did got it to got it on there so I'm going just power it on real quick just to show you guys how it look and you guys can see it looks very very nice it might be a little too bright on the top and what I was planning on doing I was thinking about moving the strip maybe a little bit further down the only thing I wish if like if they came with an accessory where you can make like an L shape so it'll be easier to you know come down instead of you bending it um but that's the best way you can even do it because it's just one straight line we'll take it to the app and then we'll mess around with the colors all right guys so the first thing you need to do you're going to need to download the lifx app I throw the app link in the description once you tap on that you got to tap on the plus for new lights so connect light all right so this going to say connect bulbs Wi-Fi in this case this is the light strips um the light strips basically they act like bulbs okay there you go right there once you connect it you hop back onto the lifx app you connect to your Wi-Fi network and keep in mind all of this without a hub it's amazing okay so now it's going to connect to my Wi-Fi network um using the lifx right there so you guys can see right there be the TV it's so bright man the camera is not really doing it justice all right so of course you're going to have some problems you know this is life x man you're going to have you know one problem one error one time all right so I guess we use the phone then so you guys can see the inconvenience man like you're going to fuss around with it but I feel like it is worth it the lights is bright you have the echo support no Hub I don't know but the connectivity issues man yes please update all right matter of fact guys I don't know what it's doing it's waiting for a to be discovered but I checked my iPad and it's actually connected right now so I got the color red right now you guys can see it's off is on so it's actually connected use um on my network but all right so TV lights now you just tap on edit you tap on the star and that's about it so now I have two things so now when I go to my widgets you have two things now TV lights and desk light or maybe I should just name it TV but the only reason why I name it TV lights is because I already have um an echo switch on the back of my TV so I can just say turn off the TV but let's see if we can have the Amazon Echo connect to it now the Echo app we're going to tap on smart home we're going to tap on we're going to probably tap on discover devices okay so I found three smart devices okay so that's about right so the TV lights I found it right there on the bottom so turn off the TV lights okay oh isn't that dope and then later on I'm going set up the if this than that which is um fttt I'm going to show you guys what that means soon but let's play around with the color settings real quick we finally got this baby to set up and let's move on and I got to say guys this thing is beautiful all right so let's go over the lights together real quick I just have this nice little um video playing in the background um just the kind to give you an idea the Ambiance is real man I'm using my iPad so I'm just going to cycle through the um color spectrum so this is green really really bright it's bright you know not a lot of the room you guys can see like the corners like it lights up the room but it's not overpowering so you got the yellow we got like a slight little orange here but I think the TV is too bright let me see let me change the TV settings real quick all righty guys so that's a lot better I just lowered down my brightness or the um the backlight of my TV so you guys can see the colors a lot better um so yeah so this is red this is yellow this is green and this is like a teal now all right now we got this energized blue which I love in it so far then we have this extremely blue oh my God it just makes things so much fun on camera it looks purple that's how blue it looks man why does it look purple on camera trust me guys it looks blue but just the camera I don't know why it's coming out as purple but right now it's blue trust me on that man it's blue now we getting into purple this is purple now then now we got this pink and trust me this thing is beautiful the red kind of give you that that nice if you watching like a scary movie or if you playing like Moral Kombat or something the Red theme is really really nice and of course you got your brightness you know you can lower it down the brightness set the TV lights to 100% okay and there you guys have it you can also use um the echo commands and you can even do more with the light strips too once we do um um the if this than that feature of course you got your standard whites you got your neutral I might use this for one of my videos if I'm making videos on my desk there you know this can also help with the lighting literally painting my my color strips right now with various different colors if you guys can see that so I'm dragging it I'm doing this I'm adding colors so now look it looks even marvelous now so you see These Guys these Tech YouTubers they have the the light strips and now you can have a taste of it all right so now this is the next slideshow this is beautiful I'm happy I picked these kind of videos so you guys can really be relaxed you have um custom themes so you have Sant all right so this is Santa right now which doesn't look too bad if you ask me you got a nice little red on the side you got a nice little white on the side but it Smooths though it it's a nice little gradient it's not like a chop and that's it you have um Holly this one's nice we still in Christmas themes but I'm pretty sure as time go on lifx is going to put in whatever is um best for the holidays all right and then you have hookah oh yeah and I forgot to say you can also um if you tap on it you can change the arrangement of the light so if you don't like it if you don't like the red on this side you can tap it and it can change it for you you guys peaceful this one's nice I'll rock out with this one so you have a bunch of colors to pick from I can make this video long but I really don't want to just to not bore you guys so much but it's a lot of um features that you can do with this thing all right so I showed you guys the colors I show you guys the installation I show you guys the setup which was a pain in behind I show you guys the echo setup and guys The Experience get even more better once you make an account for if this then that otherwise known as if TTT once you search up lifx you have all these options that you can pick from maybe when you leave out the house or when you arrive home the lights turn on which I don't like that I think it drains battery life on your um on your phone if you want to link your Google home device to your lifx Z strips you're going to have to use um if this then that it's like you have to use it because Google home is not integrated with lifx so just for the time being you have to use this since this one is here let's try out this one lifx change colors so with the Amazon Echo you cannot change the colors of the lights so let's turn this on let's set this up you know a command that you would like so I guess we can leave it as red lights um and it'll change the color red and this time we're going to have it to TV lights now keep in mind this light over here you guys can see those are only for white so it's not going to work with that all right so 50% we can set it to 60 or 70 um okay instant we can have a nice little 5 fade and we're going to save it I could say trigger red lights so then it's going to send that to if which is if this then that and suddenly you're going to see it fade I like that little fade because you don't want it to be instant like that you want a nice little gradual Fade to it so I definitely do like that you're going to have to do that to all the colors um the star boy video is playing this this video is actually perfect to to show you guys I'm going actually pause this you know look at this for example you can you can have your lifx bulbs flash like blue when you're tagged on Facebook I don't want that I get tagged almost every day so I don't want that flashing you know alarm clock which is Handy though basically when your Echo alarms go off it's going to flash both these lights to wake you up so I think I definitely do like that it really do wake me up i' be a little bit mad but it is what it is you got to wake up and start your day I'm going to be playing some video games to see how the experience is trigger blue lights sending that to if that's going to send that to if and boom now I made a mistake I wanted for it to be nice and smooth Alexa trigger red lights so now what it's going to do is it's going to have a nice little fade look at that you can see it it's slowly but surely changing the color that's nice and you can see like a little pink that's nice I like the fade better this thing is so fire son I definitely do like the candle flicker if you're watching like a music video or something I think that's pretty cool if you have music visualizer so as I'm talking right now it's lighting up all right man let's play a game real quick man this thing is dope so all righty guys hopefully you guys enjoyed the video um I believe this should be the best video of the life XZ strip I tried my best the connectivity issues is a it's is definitely a problem uh the first time when you get like life X or anything life X in general you're going to have some connection issues so be prepared for that but other than that once you get past that um process you should be good now you guys noticed I look a lot brighter I'm actually using the TV strips on this side and I actually have the lifx bulb on this side so left and right is both getting lights so I look a lot brighter so uh let me turn off the TV lights to show you guys there's a huge difference oh oh no I didn't want to turn off the whole thing all right so this is how it is without the TV lights on cuz I'm literally right next to my TV and this is how it is with it on it's like a nday difference look you guys can see me a lot better and look at it with with it off like I said this is still good it's still bright but I feel like this side of my face is you guys can't really see but this you can see everything and obviously if I have this off it's not going to really work with it properly cuz obviously the bulb is brighter but yeah so I definitely do recommend these this is something I'm definitely use every single day when I'm making videos I have the lights on you know when you're watching a music video is definitely a cool experience so it's definitely a cool um product but for $100 is it really that worth it and I got to say it depends on what kind of person you are if you a techsavvy guy like me that have the Amazon Echo and you have like smart products like an iPad iPhone iPod maybe if you're that Savage then I think this is something that you're going to like um because I like the fact that you can have um if this then that and I like the fact how you can like um you know you can use any device that's one thing I like about lifx or maybe Hugh cuz you know Hugh is Wi-Fi too as well you can pick up any of these devices an iPad or iPhone and you can control the lights because it's using Wi-Fi technology other than like a Bluetooth um bulb which I do have one I don't really like those because you got to rely on one device and one device at a time I'm a hard earn cash on it and I definitely do think it's worth it if it's improving the lighting of my videos then it's definitely good now the the setting I'm actually using right now I didn't even tell you guys I'm using daylight comment down below if you have any questions and before I even end the video I almost forgot I have some um questions before I even brought this I did ask um the lifx um support team some questions and maybe you guys are probably wondering the same thing so the first question I asked lifx I emailed them cuz I really wasn't really sure like it comes with three strips but it only come with one power brick I thought three strips could put it on my TV I can put it on my furniture put it on my nightstand but that's not the case you know one strip is kind of it's not small but it's not enough to fill that your whole TV you know what I mean they bright but they not that bright for just one so I asked them does it come with extra power backs you know what I mean or power packs and unfortunately no they don't sell them separately or they don't sell them you know they don't have two in in in one box so you know you going to have to buy another starter kit if you want to put it in like a different product such as like a night sand your you know your other products you have to get another startup kit which kind of you know it's all right but these lights are bright it pretty much light up the whole room all right so now the next question I asked the lifx customer support was uh how long do these light strips last and that's a very important question you're dropping $100 um the customer support team they basically say they're going to last around 22 years which is a awful long of time not really awful but it's a it's a very long time so you're going to have these for a minute but like I said I just got these so you know I got to obviously put it to the test I'm definitely going to probably make a follow-up video like a review video um you know similar what I did to the beats and to the MacBook Pro I might do something like lifx Z strips one year later or two years later I might do something like that in the future and every single life XZ product if it sto working they offer you 2-year warranty so if anything happens to it within 2 years or um then you can be able to send it back to lifx as long as you get your um official um Pro of purchase yeah so definitely I love these if I have to rate them I'll give it a 4.5 out of five the experience you're going to have a lot of fun with these you can change the colors you can paint the strips literally within the app so hopefully you guys enjoyed the video If you guys did I appreciate it with a thumbs up subscribe if you're new and comment down below if you have any questions about the lifx Z strips and I'll be sure to answer them down below with you guys this is definitely a huge thumbs up away from the connectivity issuesall right what is going on everybody ladies and gentlemen simply popsy hopefully you guys having a great day today and today we're going to be unboxing the life x z strips now only reason why I do these unboxing this way I want to show you guys the real quick we finally got this baby to set up and let's move on and I got to say guys this thing is beautiful all right so let's go over the lights together real quick I just have this nice little um video playing in the background um just the kind to give you an idea the Ambiance is real man I'm using my iPad so I'm just going to cycle through the um color spectrum so this is green really really bright it's bright you know not a lot of the room you guys can see like the corners like it lights up the room but it's not overpowering so you got the yellow we got like a slight little orange here but I think the TV is too bright let me see let me change the TV settings real quick all righty guys so that's a lot better I just lowered down my brightness or the um the backlight of my TV so you too once we do um um the if this than that feature of course you got your standard whites you got your neutral I might use this for one of my videos if I'm making videos on my desk there you know this can also help with the lighting literally painting my my color strips right now with various different colors if you guys can see that so I'm dragging it I'm doing this I'm adding colors so now look it looks even marvelous now so you see These Guys these Tech YouTubers they have the the light strips and now you can have a taste of it all right so now this is the next slideshow this is beautiful I'm happy I picked these kind of videos so you guys can really be relaxed you have um custom themes so you have Sant all right so this is Santa right now which doesn't look too bad if you ask me you got a nice little red on the side you got a nice little white on the side but it Smooths though it it's a nice little gradient it's not like a chop and that's it you have um Holly this one's nice we still in Christmas themes but I'm pretty sure as time go on lifx is going to put in whatever is um best for the holidays all right and then you have hookah oh yeah and I forgot to say you can also um if you tap on it you can change the arrangement of the light so if you don't like it if you don't like the red on this side you can tap it and it can change it for you you guys peaceful this one's nice I'll rock out with this one so you have a bunch of colors to pick from I can make this video long but I really don't want to just to not bore you guys so much but it's a lot of um features that you can do with this thing all right so I showed you guys the colors I show you guys the installation I show you guys the setup which was a pain in behind I show you guys the echo setup and guys The Experience get even more better once you make an account for if this then that otherwise known as if TTT once you search up lifx you have all these options that you can pick from maybe when you leave out the house or when you arrive home the lights turn on which I don't like that I think it drains battery life on your um on your phone if you want to link your Google home device to your lifx Z strips you're going to have to use um if this then that it's like you have to use it because Google home is not integrated with lifx so just for the time being you have to use this since this one is here let's try out this one lifx change colors so with the Amazon Echo you cannot change the colors of the lights so let's turn this on let's set this up you know a command that you would like so I guess we can leave it as red lights um and it'll change the color red and this time we're going to have it to TV lights now keep in mind this light over here you guys can see those are only for white so it's not going to work with that all right so 50% we can set it to 60 or 70 um okay instant we can have a nice little 5 fade and we're going to save it I could say trigger red lights so then it's going to send that to if which is if this then that and suddenly you're going to see it fade I like that little fade because you don't want it to be instant like that you want a nice little gradual Fade to it so I definitely do like that you're going to have to do that to all the colors um the star boy video is playing this this video is actually perfect to to show you guys I'm going actually pause this you know look at this for example you can you can have your lifx bulbs flash like blue when you're tagged on Facebook I don't want that I get tagged almost every day so I don't want that flashing you know alarm clock which is Handy though basically when your Echo alarms go off it's going to flash both these lights to wake you up so I think I definitely do like that it really do wake me up i' be a little bit mad but it is what it is you got to wake up and start your day I'm going to be playing some video games to see how the experience is trigger blue lights sending that to if that's going to send that to if and boom now I made a mistake I wanted for it to be nice and smooth Alexa trigger red lights so now what it's going to do is it's going to have a nice little fade look at that you can see it it's slowly but surely changing the color that's nice and you can see like a little pink that's nice I like the fade better this thing is so fire son I definitely do like the candle flicker if you're watching like a music video or something I think that's pretty cool if you have music visualizer so as I'm talking right now it's lighting up all right man let's play a game real quick man this thing is dope so all righty guys hopefully you guys enjoyed the video um I believe this should be the best video of the life XZ strip I tried my best the connectivity issues is a it's is definitely a problem uh the first time when you get like life X or anything life X in general you're going to have some connection issues so be prepared for that but other than that once you get past that um process you should be good now you guys noticed I look a lot brighter I'm actually using the TV strips on this side and I actually have the lifx bulb on this side so left and right is both getting lights so I look a lot brighter so uh let me turn off the TV lights to show you guys there's a huge difference oh oh no I didn't want to turn off the whole thing all right so this is how it is without the TV lights on cuz I'm literally right next to my TV and this is how it is with it on it's like a nday difference look you guys can see me a lot better and look at it with with it off like I said this is still good it's still bright but I feel like this side of my face is you guys can't really see but this you can see everything and obviously if I have this off it's not going to really work with it properly cuz obviously the bulb is brighter but yeah so I definitely do recommend these this is something I'm definitely use every single day when I'm making videos I have the lights on you know when you're watching a music video is definitely a cool experience so it's definitely a cool um product but for $100 is it really that worth it and I got to say it depends on what kind of person you are if you a techsavvy guy like me that have the Amazon Echo and you have like smart products like an iPad iPhone iPod maybe if you're that Savage then I think this is something that you're going to like um because I like the fact that you can have um if this then that and I like the fact how you can like um you know you can use any device that's one thing I like about lifx or maybe Hugh cuz you know Hugh is Wi-Fi too as well you can pick up any of these devices an iPad or iPhone and you can control the lights because it's using Wi-Fi technology other than like a Bluetooth um bulb which I do have one I don't really like those because you got to rely on one device and one device at a time I'm a hard earn cash on it and I definitely do think it's worth it if it's improving the lighting of my videos then it's definitely good now the the setting I'm actually using right now I didn't even tell you guys I'm using daylight comment down below if you have any questions and before I even end the video I almost forgot I have some um questions before I even brought this I did ask um the lifx um support team some questions and maybe you guys are probably wondering the same thing so the first question I asked lifx I emailed them cuz I really wasn't really sure like it comes with three strips but it only come with one power brick I thought three strips could put it on my TV I can put it on my furniture put it on my nightstand but that's not the case you know one strip is kind of it's not small but it's not enough to fill that your whole TV you know what I mean they bright but they not that bright for just one so I asked them does it come with extra power backs you know what I mean or power packs and unfortunately no they don't sell them separately or they don't sell them you know they don't have two in in in one box so you know you going to have to buy another starter kit if you want to put it in like a different product such as like a night sand your you know your other products you have to get another startup kit which kind of you know it's all right but these lights are bright it pretty much light up the whole room all right so now the next question I asked the lifx customer support was uh how long do these light strips last and that's a very important question you're dropping $100 um the customer support team they basically say they're going to last around 22 years which is a awful long of time not really awful but it's a it's a very long time so you're going to have these for a minute but like I said I just got these so you know I got to obviously put it to the test I'm definitely going to probably make a follow-up video like a review video um you know similar what I did to the beats and to the MacBook Pro I might do something like lifx Z strips one year later or two years later I might do something like that in the future and every single life XZ product if it sto working they offer you 2-year warranty so if anything happens to it within 2 years or um then you can be able to send it back to lifx as long as you get your um official um Pro of purchase yeah so definitely I love these if I have to rate them I'll give it a 4.5 out of five the experience you're going to have a lot of fun with these you can change the colors you can paint the strips literally within the app so hopefully you guys enjoyed the video If you guys did I appreciate it with a thumbs up subscribe if you're new and comment down below if you have any questions about the lifx Z strips and I'll be sure to answer them down below with you guys this is definitely a huge thumbs up away from the connectivity issues\n"
