Can This TV Replace Your Gaming Monitor?

**The P Series Quantum X TV: A Giant Display for Gaming and Entertainment**

Hey guys, it's Austin here! I'm super excited to be partnering with Vizio to review the brand new P Series Quantum X TV. When they reached out to me, the first thing that came to mind was how this 65-inch display looks like a properly cool gaming monitor.

By "properly cool," I mean a giant game monitor that I currently have plugged into my gaming PC. Just don't mind the cables – we'll tidy those up later! The P Series Quantum X is an impressive piece of hardware, and when you pair it with a gaming PC, you can get some real performance out of it.

Not only can you watch TV shows like "This Is Us" on this display (which I highly recommend checking out: YouTube.com/thisis), but you can also play games like Apex Legends. One of the main advantages of the P Series Quantum X is its incredible brightness, with a peak brightness of nearly 3000 nits.

That's way beyond what most other TVs we've ever looked at, and especially when compared to gaming monitors. The fact that it can get this bright while still having all the functionality you expect in a gaming display makes it truly impressive.

**HDMI Ports and Low-Latency Technology**

One of the more subtle features of the P Series Quantum X is around back. You'll find five HDMI ports, four of which will do 4K at 60 Hertz, HDR, and all that kind of stuff. But what really drew me to this TV is HDMI number five – it allows the TV to run at 1080p at a full 120 Hertz.

That's awesome, seriously! This is a 65-inch, 120 Hertz display, which is impressive on its own. And importantly, unlike most TVs that have some sort of so-called game mode, this actually has a super low-latency port – with latency as low as ten milliseconds.

**A Giant Display for Gaming and Entertainment**

The first thing that jumps out to me about the P Series Quantum X is how big it is. I should've moved my mouse and keyboard farther away, but the advantage here is that we're really getting an experience you just can't get on a console. Sure, consoles can play at 4K, HDR, and all that kind of stuff, but you're never going to get this super high refresh rate.

For real though, I love the idea of hooking up a gaming PC to a display like this. It's such a unique sort of proposition – it's not just a TV or just a gaming monitor; it's both! And with its incredible brightness and low latency, you can play games at an incredibly smooth 150 frames per second.

**Quantum Dot Technology and SmartCast OS**

So what actually makes the P Series Quantum X tick? Well, one of the things that makes it special is quantum dot technology. Quantum dots are a really interesting thing that's not been explained very well as far as I'm concerned, so I brought my buddy West in to see exactly what this thing is all about.

Quantum dot technology actually lets you get that full range of brightness and color without getting super crunchy. It also allows for a wider range of color, which is backed up by the act of full array dimming, with a full 480 zones of local dimming on board.

**Additional Features**

The P Series Quantum X has Chromecast built-in, so you can cast anything that's available in 4K HDR to Chromecast Ultra. You also have Netflix and all that kind of stuff available – and I know they're actually adding AirPlay soon as well!

They've really made it fully integrated, with everything you need right there on the TV. I really think it's worth considering a giant display like this for both gaming and entertainment purposes.

WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: en- Hey guys this is Austin! When Vizio reached out andwanted to sponsor a videoon the brand new P Series Quantum X TV,the very first thing I thought of,was that this actually looks likea properly cool gaming monitor.By properly cool I meana 65 inch game monitorthat I currently haveplugged into a gaming PC right now,'cause I mean of course I do...Just don't mind the cables. We'll tidy those up never.Especially when you pairthis with a gaming PCyou can get some realperformance out of it.And of course you canwatch This Is episodes, which is definitely a good idea, you can check it out: YouTube.com/thisis.But more importantly than that, you can do real things like Apex Legends. One of the main advantageswith the P Series Quantum Xis just how bright it is.So you can't go over the HDR mode, you can get a peak brightnessof nearly 3000 nits. Not only is that way beyondpretty much any other TVwe've ever looked at,but especially when you compareit to like a gaming monitor,it is so much brighterand one of the nice thingsis that things that Windowsare doing a much better job, although not quite perfect,of supporting HDR displays and consoles, such as the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X,can also take advantageof that incredible brightness and clarity.I know it sounds like supermarketing kind of speak, but it is really nice to see somethingwhich can get this brightbut also still has all thefunctionality you expectin a gaming display. One of the more subtlefeatures is around back.So here we have five HDMI ports, four of which will do 4K,60 Hertz,HDR,all that kind of stuff, but what really drew me tothis TV is HDMI number five,as this will allow the TV to run at 1080pat a full 120 Hertz. Now that is awesome, seriously this is a 65 inch,120 Hertz display. And importantly, unlike most TVs that have somesort of so-called game mode, this actually is a super low-latency port,I mean you're looking atsomewhere in the neighborhoodof only ten milliseconds of latency, which is very much on parwith live game monitors, which are much much smaller. So the first thing that jumps out to me isthat this is a giant display.I should've moved my mouseand keyboard farther away, but the advantage here is thatwe really are getting an experiencethat you just can't get on a console.Sure consoles can play at 4K,HDR,and all that kind of stuff, but you're never going to getthis super high refresh rate.I mean dude, that's so smooth and it's so big, like ridiculous. For real though,I love the idea of hooking up a gaming PCto a display like this. It's such a unique sort of proposition,'cause yeah there are thesehigh-end 4K HDR gaming TVs.That's nice, but they're insanely expensive, whereas this is somethingwhich you can use as a TV,you can use it to watch Netflix or YouTubeor whatever the case is,and you can also plug your gaming PC inand get an incrediblygood gaming experience.Right now we're like 150 frames per secondand it's buttery smooth.Oh there we go,there we go!There we go!Dude people are totallysleeping on the ideaof using a TV as a gaming display. Now sure it's not thesmallest thing in the worldand won't fit on your desk for example, unless you have a really baller desk, but the advantage here isthat you're getting somethingwhich will work for everything, right? You plug your PC in,you can play super high frame rates, super low latency, but you can also hook upsomething like a consoleand of course use itas a proper TV as well.A big reason why this TV issuch a jack of all trades isbecause it takes advantage of this year'squantum color technology.Quantum dots are areally interesting thingthat is not somethingthat has really been explained very wellas far as I'm concerned. So of course I had tobring my buddy West in,to see exactly whatthis thing is all about. What makes it tick, what makes it...Pixel?Sparkle,we're gonna go with sparkle on that one. What actually makes a quantumdot different than sayjust a standard LCD?- Well with the standard LCDyou obviously have a giant backlight, that's then pushing throughsort of a transparent finishof pixels, right? And then they're glowing different colorsby having that light go through.- Yeah.- But to tune that backlight, there's always a filter,so instead of being super blue- You can never beas accurate as you wanna be.- Exactly,it makes more of a neutral white. But what's really coolabout quantum dot technologyis that it actually letsyou get that full rangeof brightness and color- Yeah.- without getting super crunchy.- Yeah yeah.So with that quantum dot tech,it allows for a wider range of colorand that is backed up by theact of full array dimming, which has a full 480 zonesof local dimming on board, which means that you actuallyget some proper contrast,as well as some veryvery bright highlights. So right now we're castingthis as a TV right?- Yeah we're casting over Chromecast,Vizio's SmartCast OSessentially has a ChromecastUltra to filter it in.- So we have 4K,HDR,the whole thing.- Exactly, anything that you can cast in4K HDR to Chromecast Ultra, you can do with this.- But you also do have Netflixand all that kind of stuff, and I know that they'reactually adding AirPlay as wellto the TV soon,right?- Yep AirPlay controlwith Google Home and Alexaand all that fun stuff.- Oh yeah!- So they're really seemingto make it fully integrated.- They have everything on this.I really think it's worthconsidering a giant displaysuch as the P Series Quatum X.Not only is it good as a TV,but it's also surprisingly solidas a gaming display as well.If you guys are interested,I'll have a link in thedescription to check this guy out,Vizio did give me a promo codewhich will get you a littleit of a percentage off of it,so definitely be sureto go check that out.
