Hello and welcome to Scene Through Glass, I was determined to not start today's video in the dark with a Starbucks so you joined me about 45 minutes into my journey it's getting a little bit lighter I'm still drinking my Starbucks today I'm off up north to Laguna sea Raceway so as I mentioned in yesterday's video this is exactly where I was in August for Monterey car week and the reason I am going now is for the Pelli World Challenge.
I know this isn't going to come as new to anybody but California is bloody beautiful this is one of the main reasons I wanted to do this trip my God is the sun is coming up behind me every time I go around the corner I'm like I'm hardly into this journey I'm so excited by the views and what potential we're going to see today it is mind-blowing here. So, I've just hit my first bit of traffic which for California is actually pretty good in the morning it is now 7:30 as I say I had a super easy cruise out of LA and LA traffic can be a nightmare so I was actually quite pleased with that.
The first place I'm actually headed today is somewhere called Big Sir s r uh I've heard a lot about it and when I was actually uh in montere for car week a lot of people were messaging me saying head to Big Sir so that's my lunch spot basically that's where I'm headed for lunch um I believe it's pretty epic uh I'll get some food have a bit of a break and then crack on the last 30 minutes or so towards mont well this road is freaking awesome. I turned off the motor of the highway and I'm now on this like much smaller Road twisting and climbing through the mountains I got the sea down there what maybe I should go into sport mode oh I love America I'm in complete waste of time but so worth it.
What a freaking view right time to crack on now I've been getting so carried away with the beauty of this road I kind of forgot about Fuel and uh I've eaten quite a lot of it because I've been having some fun on this to the interesting thing is I'm in the middle of freaking nowhere so I literally haven't seen a gas station so American these days um for quite a while and it's not like in the UK where there's s of like you know I feel like there's pet stations every 5 miles in the UK I have not seen one for at least 20 miles out here so things could start to get a little desperate at some point but for now just going to chill keep enjoying this insane Road Patrol Patrol P.
I need a drone guys I need a freaking drone I have to say it's quite weird being back in Monteray not during car we cuz I'm literally like I'm on I'm on the edge I keep thinking that a laugh or p1's going to pull out somewhere I mean pretty damn cool that we've got a hot rod uh just cruising along and when I was here some guys who live locally did say that all year round there was car stuff going on obviously with Laguna sea around the corner it means that car people are always in this part of the world but I don't expect it to be as mental as car week but as I say I still feel really anxious like getting ready to like grab cameras and do a U-turn to go and Chase something.
I have made it to my hotel and the end of the road trip and what an unbelievable day not necessarily the best driving roads that I've ever done but 100% the most scenic driving I've ever done California is just freaking beautiful what an awesome place to end the video firstly back in mon but also beautiful golden sunset by the Sea I'm getting so overly romantic about this whole thing but it has been an awesome awesome day I cannot wait to head to the track tomorrow please give this video a thumbs up if you've enjoyed it and make sure to subscribe for plenty more videos to come

Monterey car week and the reason I am going now is for the pelli world challenge I know this isn't going to come as new used to anybody but California is bloody beautiful this is one of the main reasons I wanted to do this trip my God is the sun is coming up behind me every time I go around the corner I'm like I'm hardly into this journey I'm so excited by the views and what potential we're to the interesting thing is I'm in the middle of freaking nowhere so I literally haven't seen a gas station so American these days um for quite a while and it's not like in the UK where there's s of like you know I feel like there's pet stations every 5 miles in the UK I have not seen one for at least 20 miles out here so things could start to get a little desperate at some point but for now just going to chill keep enjoying this insane Road Patrol Patrol P I do kind of Love American petol stations great snacks um okay good we are fueled up which means I can relax every so slightly I was getting a little bit panicked and uh crack on and enjoy the driving God knows where we are now when I was planning this trip last night uh there were two kind of routes I could take one which kind of was the quickest uh I think it was claiming about 4 and 1 half hours and kind of just went in a straight line from La up to montre way however there was a second route along the coast on California 1 Highway which I think is a very famous highway but I had no idea it was going to be this epic I am literally having the best freaking day I'm very glad I woke up early I love mornings anyway but it is it's still it's 10:50 so it's not even 11:00 yet and I'm just taking in these views enjoying the car my first American road trip I just feel like it's the perfect road trip California was made for road trips I just saw a sign for elephant seal viewing area I mean that sounds f far too good to miss how totally brilliant and totally random at the same time glad I pulled over for that la la I'm not sure I've ever been anywhere on this scale where you've got an ocean that freaking big there and then these massive mountains there I mean there's an element of it which reminds me a bit of tenar and of course the south of France you have mountains and sea but not on this scale not like this it's mad guys I am blown away why have I not done a road trip through before I mean I literally now want to do Coast to Coast oh this is L what I'm so happy I'm so freaking happy I want to do this every day days like today really make me frustrated that I don't have a best friend who's a cameraman because I really do not feel like I'm capturing this well enough to kind of show you guys these roads are getting epic now as well and to be able to have a cameraman or be able to have another driver so I could step out and film the car coming through some of these passes and stuff like that would just make this video so much better but it is very hard to do it by yourself especially on like guess 6h hour drive because if I keep getting out and leaving cameras by the side of the road and stuff like that it will soon be an 8 or 9 hour drive and I've got stuff to do when I get to Monteray the other thing that makes me realize is my God I need a drone so if you follow me on Twitter you'll know I freaked out when GoPro launched the karma and then freaked out even more when DJI launched the mavic and for me I need that mavic the karma is amazing and I love the way you get like three different things in one but the MAV with its ability to follow on a day like today I need a drone guys I need a freaking drone I have to say it's quite weird being back in Monteray not during car we cuz I'm literally like I'm on I'm on the edge I keep thinking that a laugh or p1's going to pull out somewhere I mean pretty damn cool that we've got a hot rod uh just cruising along and when I was here some guys who live locally did say that all year round there was car stuff going on obviously with Laguna sea around the corner it means that car people are always in this part of the world but I don't expect it to be as mental as car week but as I say I still feel really anxious like getting ready to like grab cameras and do a U-turn to go and Chase something and there we go I have made it to my hotel and the end of the road trip and what an unbelievable day not necessarily the best driving
