The New Honda Civic Type R: A Performance Upgrade Like No Other

Honda has taken the wraps off its latest performance variant, the new Civic Type R, and it's a real showstopper. This car is a beast, with a whopping 320 horsepower and 400 newton meters of torque. That's an increase of just 10 horsepower compared to the previous generation, but don't let that fool you – this car is quicker than ever before. Top speed is estimated to be around 167 mph, which is slightly faster than its predecessor.

But what really sets the new Civic Type R apart is its handling prowess. Honda has given it a 38% stiffer body than the old model, and with three driving modes to choose from – including a track-focused mode called "plus R" – this car is capable of tackling even the most demanding roads. The suspension has also been tweaked to provide a more comfortable ride, making this car suitable for daily use.

The Civic Type R is available in manual form only, but Honda has introduced some new features to make it easier to drive. One notable innovation is rev matching, which means that the car will automatically adjust its gear shifts if you're not skilled enough to handle them yourself. The shift points are still very hard, so don't expect any coddling here – this car is designed for track days and spirited driving.

Under the bonnet, the new Civic Type R is powered by a highly tuned engine that produces 320 horsepower. This power increase is largely due to a freer-flowing exhaust system, which features three pipes and a centrally mounted muffler. The result is a sound that's more exciting than ever before – no longer is the exhaust note disappointingly boomy; now it's smooth and refined.

The interior of the Civic Type R has also been upgraded to provide a more premium feel. The seats are body-hugging, but with softer side bolsters that make getting in and out easier. The car also features advanced technology, including dual pinion steering and progressive steering, which makes it even sharper and more responsive than before.

One of the most noticeable features of the new Civic Type R is its braking system. Honda has fitted massive 20-inch alloy wheels, but they're accompanied by huge Brembo brakes that are designed to grip and stop with ease. The calipers used are the same ones found on the rear of the NSX supercar – a testament to Honda's commitment to performance.

The exterior design of the Civic Type R has been tweaked to give it a more aggressive look, but not everyone will like it. Some might find the new design too radical or even ugly. However, there are some redeeming features, such as the Vortex generators on top of the car that help smooth airflow over the rear.

The price tag for the new Civic Type R is around £30,000, which is a significant increase from its predecessor. But for performance enthusiasts who demand the best, this car might just be worth every penny. With its incredible handling, powerful engine, and premium interior, the Honda Civic Type R is set to become one of the most desirable cars on the road today.

stiff as the normal mode in the old Type R and then for most of the time you're going to put into this new mode the Comfort mode and then apparently it's going to be good enough to use as a daily make this new Civic typar even sharper than the old one and if I had a complaint about the alic typ bar it wasn't actually that the steering was too slow so it's going to be interesting to see what
