Three Services I Pay For That Are Absolutely Worth Your Money
Hey guys, it's Ron from TechnoBuffalo here, and today I'm going to be talking about three services that I think are well worth your money. The reason you're looking at a screen with money on it is because I want to share these services with you.
Google Play Music and YouTube Red: A Match Made in Heaven
The reason I've packaged Google Play Music and YouTube Red together is that I don't think most people know about this deal, but you can buy Google Play Music for $9.99 a month and get YouTube Red for free. I actually didn't know about this deal using Spotify and Apple Music beforehand, but after finding out, it's a great bargain for me. Google Play Music has pretty much all the same music that Spotify has, so they have a huge library in addition to you getting Ad-free YouTube viewing. One of my favorite features is that you can lock your phone and still have the video playing in the background without having to waste data on the video feed, which allows you to listen to it pretty much like a podcast.
Headspace: A Meditation App Worth Every Penny
Next up, I've got an app that should get your commo on – it's called Headspace. This is ironic because Calm is a competitor, but Headspace is a meditation app that actually does a great job. They have a monthly subscription of $12.99 or $7.99 depending on how many months you subscribe for if you're going month-to-month, it's $12.99, which isn't the cheapest subscription out there, but I highly recommend it. By subscribing to their service, you'll be unlocking all sorts of meditation and a sort of progressive plan that will go with you day by day, teaching you something new every single day. I think this is a great way to calm down, literally calming your nerves and continuing throughout your day with a better mindset and more headspace.
Vimeo: A Great Alternative to YouTube
Last but not least, we have something that's not necessarily a paid service if you don't want it to be – but a place where I think is worth spending money. That is Vimeo. Obviously, you guys are watching this on YouTube, which is great for certain types of content, but as of late, the algorithms on YouTube have really been irritating me whenever I go on my homepage. I always get the same types of videos over and over again. On the other hand, Vimeo is awesome from their staff picks to now their on-demand content. I'm a huge fan of the documentaries and films you'll get from independent filmmakers, very famous filmmakers – nobodies are just putting out great content that Vimy does a really good job of highlighting things that might be interesting to you. You'll have to spend a dollar or two dollars to rent a movie sometimes, but you can buy episodes of a TV series, and I think it's really worth it because you'll see some genuinely creative and artistic content that you won't find anywhere else on the Internet.
Conclusion
So there you have it – three services that I pay for that I absolutely don't regret ever. If you're curious to hear what other paid services you spend your money on, let me know in the comments below. Give us a thumbs up if you want more videos like this, and I'll do more recommendations of things I love and use. Hit subscribe for more tech content, and I'll see you guys in the next video. Before letting you guys go, I've got to give a quick shout out to our friends at Squarespace – another paid service that I think is extremely worth it. I use them personally for my own portfolio website, and what I love about Squarespace is they've put the power of design at your fingertips without making it complicated or involving code things that are intimidating or that may hinder the design process. If you sign up for a year, you get a free domain name – go to Squarespace.com/technobuffalo and enter promo code techno if you want to get 10% off in signing up for Squarespace.
