FEBRUARY READING WRAP UP!!

A Reading Recap: My Favorite Books of the Month

I recently finished reading eight books, and I'm excited to share my thoughts with you. I'll start by saying that I did enjoy most of these books, but not all of them left a lasting impression on me.

One book that caught my attention was Real Technical is Rumi's by Christina Lauren. This romance novel tells the story of a musician who saves the life of a woman he doesn't even know, and they decide to get married in order to help him become an American citizen and perform in a Broadway musical. I found this plot to be cute and adorable, with plenty of steamy moments. While I enjoyed the book, I didn't find it particularly original or memorable. It's always great to see two people from different backgrounds coming together, but this story felt like a familiar trope.

Another book that caught my attention was Eleanor Oliphant is Clearly Fine by Gail Honeyman. This novel follows the life of Eleanor, a socially awkward woman who makes a friend with her IT department coworker and eventually opens up about her past. I loved this book for its quirky tone and beautiful exploration of what it means to be different. The author takes time to get into Eleanor's head, making her a relatable and lovable character. This book is a must-read for anyone looking for a feel-good novel that celebrates individuality.

Now, onto my favorite books of the month! I have to say that Eleanor Oliphant is Clearly Fine is one of them, but my absolute favorite is The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah. This historical fiction novel follows two sisters in France during World War II and their struggles to survive. I was thoroughly immersed in this book, and it's no exaggeration when I say that I cried more while reading this than any other book ever. The author's writing is breathtakingly beautiful, and the story is so powerful and moving that it left me speechless. If you're a fan of historical fiction or are looking for a new favorite author, then Kristin Hannah is an absolute must-read.

Overall, I was happy with my reading month, even if not all the books left me feeling like I wanted to re-watch the entire series (that's a whole different story).
