FEBRUARY READING WRAP UP!!

A Reading Recap: My Favorite Books of the Month

I recently finished reading eight books, and I'm excited to share my thoughts with you. I'll start by saying that I did enjoy most of these books, but not all of them left a lasting impression on me.

One book that caught my attention was Real Technical is Rumi's by Christina Lauren. This romance novel tells the story of a musician who saves the life of a woman he doesn't even know, and they decide to get married in order to help him become an American citizen and perform in a Broadway musical. I found this plot to be cute and adorable, with plenty of steamy moments. While I enjoyed the book, I didn't find it particularly original or memorable. It's always great to see two people from different backgrounds coming together, but this story felt like a familiar trope.

Another book that caught my attention was Eleanor Oliphant is Clearly Fine by Gail Honeyman. This novel follows the life of Eleanor, a socially awkward woman who makes a friend with her IT department coworker and eventually opens up about her past. I loved this book for its quirky tone and beautiful exploration of what it means to be different. The author takes time to get into Eleanor's head, making her a relatable and lovable character. This book is a must-read for anyone looking for a feel-good novel that celebrates individuality.

Now, onto my favorite books of the month! I have to say that Eleanor Oliphant is Clearly Fine is one of them, but my absolute favorite is The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah. This historical fiction novel follows two sisters in France during World War II and their struggles to survive. I was thoroughly immersed in this book, and it's no exaggeration when I say that I cried more while reading this than any other book ever. The author's writing is breathtakingly beautiful, and the story is so powerful and moving that it left me speechless. If you're a fan of historical fiction or are looking for a new favorite author, then Kristin Hannah is an absolute must-read.

Overall, I was happy with my reading month, even if not all the books left me feeling like I wanted to re-watch the entire series (that's a whole different story).

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhello everyone today I'm here to share with you my February wrap-up so I read eight books in February um some of them I didn't really enjoy a lot of them are kind of in the middle for me and there were some that I love that are my favorite of the years always with my wrap ups I start with my least favorite working up to my favorites it's like a fun guessing game which was how their favorite this must stay tuned to find out so my least favorite book of the month should come as no surprise if you've been watching my reviews and that is three sides of a heart this is a lot of short stories about love triangles I gave this a 2 out of 5 I really did not enjoy it at all I have its own video review up or I dissect each of the stories I'm basically just me telling you know like look I just didn't enjoy it I felt like it just a lot of the stories fell flat i dnf'd a lot of the stories like at least two or three of them which is very rare from you know short stories usually I'm like power through get through these 30 pages but some of them I could not some if you're looking for like a good ye ant ology I would not recommend this one honestly feel like there's far more better ones out there this is part one of my least favorite ones overall so yeah definitely my least favorite book of the month that's ok nepeta dime book is broken beautiful hearts by kami Garcia I gave this one like a 2.7 305 I wanted a lot more from it um actually these next two books someone talked about have their own match or review on it so I try to be matte reviews a lot on my channel so for every three books I kind of read within the same genre I'll put in an own video review so check those out I highly recommend them but this one was basically about a girl that got pushed on the series by her boyfriend obviously um assault and assault and abuse and no one believes her since she moves to another town to kind of get away and things like that and she has a new romance I feel like with kami Garcia's books but I don't love them I want to like them but I just don't I feel like the main character I did not enjoy her at all she was kind of catty and me and a knight and when she got a new love interest she was like I don't want to be with you she was kind of the main character that is really despised honestly I do understand that it talked about a very important topic such as you know use an assault and you appreciate it for that but I wished it could have been flushed out more so overall a disappointing read as well starting up for a good video our way but either way yeah I really enjoy it the next book I want to talk about is America's Panda baccalaureate show I give this one a three out of five so kind of a middle of the road for me I enjoyed it but I didn't love it as much as I wanted to this follows a main character named a and she is going to MIT she's 17 going to MIT how smart is girl and her time when these parents want her to become a doctor and the thought of germs repels her so she's really this whole book is about her trying to figure out what she wants a law starting to appease her parents and her Taiwanese culture so this is what this whole book is about it was very cute and adorable I didn't really love the romance I found the right to be a little bit too simplistic for my taste but it was still enjoyable overall I think it's a great diverse read especially I learned more about the Taiwanese culture and how kind of strict in some print some parents can be in a different culture but I did a juror main character she was cute and adorable and I really wanted her route and I really rooted for her but overall like I said it was kind of a middle-of-the-road book for me I didn't love it but I didn't hate it so that's why it gets three out of five the next book is the wedding date by Janice on barrini which I gave a three and a half out of five to this is literally the cover it's about two characters that meet on an elevator and the guy is about to go to this wedding to his ex-girlfriend that's was getting married and he's a girl in the leg so he decides to ask the girl elevate her to go with me to go with him because it's like I don't want to go alone and they do and then they kind of forge a relationship from there I thought it wasn't a cute adorable chicklet romance but I felt the whole plot to be kind of lacking I felt like they didn't have much to it if that makes any sense I did enjoy the romance and I loved it I thought it was such a adorable real-life romance because both of them lived in very different parts of California so they would have to fly you know to see each other quite frequently and that's expensive but it was just refreshing to read about a very realistic relationship but I feel like the plot just kind of meandered for a while and there wasn't like I said much that happened with it I feel like there could have been something a little bit extra but I still gave it a three and a half out of five looking for really diverse cute Chiclets book I would highly recommend it I devoured it I thought it was adorable I just wanted a little bit more from it I don't know if this year I'm being super picky it was that my breathing's or not I don't know I feel like this year more than ever my tastes have changed dressed I think with books speaking of my taste changing that brings stir a story next book and that is the balance by Danielle clay I gave this one also a three and a half out of five and one on my mat reviews like I said I'll link them down below if that makes any sense um I felt I said in my review that if I would have read this three years ago I feel like I would have given it a five out of five and devoured it and loved every aspect of it however 2018 me don't think you know three and a half out of five it just goes to show you how your reading taste can change so much in such little time this book I did enjoy the plot the plot was very interesting and very refreshing and very different I feel like it's about these characters the bells and they have power to make anyone beautiful so everyone else in the world that are not the bells like have gray skin they have sunken eyes bloodshot eyes and they have like no color to their hair they pay the bell sees extraordinary amounts of money to make them look beautiful like these bells can do like they're like magicians pretty much they can change your hair color they can like shape your nose that can give you bigger breasts bigger butt smaller weights anything they could do so this book is all about the price of beauty and how much you would pay for while realizing you know maybe beauty is not everything so I did enjoy the message and that I was bringing I just found it to be too long number one it was a very long book um I didn't know the characters but I felt like it was typical of what a lot of other ye fantasies you have this kind of Kingdom and things are amiss and of course there's things that are going on and you can put two and two together so I feel like it was original yes but the plot with these bells I didn't do it for that matter but I felt like it was just kind of reminiscent of a lot of other why a fantasy books which is not knocking it at all but that just goes to show you how much creating tastes have changed so I gave it a three and a half out of five I did enjoy it I think I don't know want to see how I feel next year and that I will continue off the series because like I said I do enjoy it but shaped like a three and a 3.75 would be like real technical is Rumi's by Christina Lauren well that's obsessed with the sub a musician and basically saves their life one day and she learns that he's very very she learns that he's there an expired visa and also her uncle's work on a Broadway musical and they want him to play in it but he can't because he's here on expired visa so they decided to get married and so he can become American citizen and also perform in this play and of course of romant strikes up and it was really cute and adorable definitely very steamy this was very steamy just so you know but I still enjoyed that I like the overall plot of like these two people that don't even know anything about don't even know each other like let's get in there anything they did I thought it was cute adorable definitely a cute chick little okay these last two I want to talk about where my favorite ur them up and my favorites of my favorites the whole year supposed in my 5 out of 5 the first one is Eleanor Oliphant is clearly fine by Gail Honeyman oh his books so I love those books so much so this follows our main character Eleanor who's a real clue and she doesn't have a lot of good social skills she doesn't talk to a lot of people and one day she kind of makes a friend with the IT guy in her department and they randomly saved this old man out of the street and they kind of forge a friendship and it gets Eleanor out of her shell a little bit more and you learned more about Eleanor in her past and how it's really affected Eleanor and it's just a book learning about Eleanor and how she kind of blossoms and how she you know opens up herself and it was really amazing it's a very quirky book because Eleanor it takes a while to get into Eleanor's head and understand why she is the way she is but it's such a beautiful novel about growth about you know being different and being okay with being different I appreciated it so much for that so I love this book I thought it was a great literary fiction book 5 out of 5 one of my favorites of the year would recommend it to anyone it just it's one of those feel-good books like when you finish it you just feel good and heartwarming and just all the smiles loved it look I want to talk about is my favorite and I think honestly honestly it's gonna be my favorite of the entire year it's February and I'm already saying that and that is the nightingale by Kirsten Hanna and we read this book it's a thick book but I devoured it and I loved it oh I have a video review up solely how do I host well I have a video review up solely for this book the hype is real for this guy's I know you've heard about this book I wrote like also I thought it is worth every second of the hype it's about World War 2 in France we follow two sisters that are very very different and their lives you know starting before the war happening during the war and even the aftermath of the war it is an intense brutal devastating book like I've never cried as much with reading than this book like I'm talking about tears we're constantly sharing it on my face when reading this book like it was it was bad I would recommend it to everyone if I had a like a required reading class this would be on that list like that would be like what books do you require to read this one hands down let the historical fiction like scare you away because I'm not a huge fan of historical fiction but trust me you will love it you will be so immersed in it it's ridiculous i if you go to my review I'd talk more and more about like I won't shut up about it but I will never shut this book so amazing I want to read all of her books now which one would you recommend next please let me know but I have to like read them space because gosh this books aren't wrenching so good so there you have it those are the eight books that I read this month overall a pretty good reading month for me not a ton of books that I loved but I have my most favorite book of the entire year on this list so can't be bad on
