iOS 13 - The BEST Yet.. _ iOS 13 Beta 4 Review
**In-Depth Follow-up on iOS 13 Developer Beta 4/ Public Beta 3**
As some of you may know, I recently installed the fourth developer beta and third public beta of iOS 13 on my daily driver. In this video, I wanted to give you all a really in-depth follow-up on how it's been working out for me and what I think about this release.
I have to say that I was impressed with the stability of this release. The amount of bugs is actually pretty high, but they're mostly minor issues like playlist crashing or some other third-party applications. If you don't personally use those apps or features, I wouldn't see a problem using it on your daily driver. In fact, I would definitely recommend using it on your main device, especially if you wait until the fourth beta of every major iOS release.
I have to say that I was expecting some kind of issues with this release, but so far, everything has been working out fine. My phone doesn't crash or freeze on me like it did with the previous betas. Of course, there might be a few bugs here and there, but they're not day-altering crashes or anything like that.
If you run into any issues or have any problems with this release, I highly recommend reporting them to Apple through their feedback application. That way, they can fix those issues and make the next beta even better. Unfortunately, some people don't take the time to report bugs, which is a shame because it's really important for Apple to know about those issues so they can be fixed.
**The Community's Feedback**
I also took a look at the comments section of this video, and I have to say that I was impressed with the community's feedback. Some people said that they've been using it on their daily drivers without any problems, while others mentioned some minor bugs here and there. But overall, it seems like most people are happy with this release.
One person even said that they were having a Wi-Fi connecting problem, which is probably the same issue I was having earlier. Another person mentioned that the 10S max had been better than other betas, but still has some minor bugs. And one more person said that iPhone 10 was okay for most of the time, but not recommended using it on a daily driver because of some small bugs.
**The Future of iOS Releases**
As for the next iOS 13 major release beta 5, I think we could actually see it as early as this coming week. Apple sometimes switches to weekly releases after a fourth beta release, so we might see the fifth developer beta and public beta very soon. If that's the case, I'll make sure to let you guys know through my Twitter channel. I will also be giving updates on any rumors or news about upcoming iOS releases.
In conclusion, I think that this release is stable enough for your daily driver. There are some minor bugs here and there, but they're not day-altering crashes or anything like that. So, if you want to give it a try, go ahead and install it on your main device. And remember, if you run into any issues or have any problems with this release, please report them to Apple through their feedback application.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwhat's up guys my name is Brandon and I've been using iOS 13 developer beta for every day since it was released earlier this week and in this video I wanted to give you guys an update on how it's been running for myself and thousands of other people so we're gonna be going over some more new features and changes in public beta 3 or developer beta 4 whatever program you're on we're also gonna talk about the performance the battery life the connectivity we're going to go over the poll I did here on the channel and much more so first off thanks to everybody who voted in the community poll if you go over to my channel then go to the community tab you can see here I did do a poll so thank you guys all who voted in this you can see there's 7.3 thousand votes in just under 24 hours so thank you for voting in that we're gonna get into this later we're going to go over the comments and talk about this poll here in a few minutes I so anyways let's get into some of the additional new features and changes found here in beta 4 and then we're gonna move on to the performance the battery life and all that fun stuff so as you guys saw in my original beta 4 video you have the new rearrange apps icon here in 3d touch and really just the whole 3d touch menu has a new look with some new options its rearranged the text is there for the icons are different just a lot of things have changed with the 3d touch menu here but what I didn't mention in that video is if we go into our settings and go to accessibility go to touch you'll see that we now have 3d and haptic touch whereas before it just said 3d touch and if we go and click on that you can see we also have a new option for the touch duration we have fast and slow and down there it says adjust the time it takes to reveal content previews actions and contextual menus so you can go ahead and change that now but that's not really the big deal with this setting the fact that it says 3d and haptic touch here is not good news because this is an iPhone 10s max we didn't even have haptic touch on this at all before you know iOS 13 so now it's looking like Apple is definitely going to be phasing out 3d touch even on 3d touch capable devices like the iPhone 10s max here and I touched on this a lot in my original iOS 13 beta 4 video and I've made multiple videos on 3d touch so I'm not going to go heavily into that and I'm especially gonna wait until like the final version of iOS 13 gets released before I even start getting upset again but that has changed here in beta 4 and it's not really looking like a good change if you have a 3d touch compatible device now speaking of three you can now move applications on the home screen similar to the way you do it on the iPad so we go in 3d touch you can see you can just go ahead and start moving it like that to move the application and go into wiggle mode and that's something you weren't able to do before but you were able to do on something like the iPad pro that I have right here and that was a feature that I liked on there so it's easier to move applications now when you go into the 3d touch menu we actually 3d touch on an application I should say now another really cool change here in iOS 13 beta 4 or public beta 3 as you can see this little icon right here now on the volume and that's actually what shows you can see it's like two people there that actually shows when two or more air pods or powerbeats are connected to the same device but you know playing the same song so it shows that little icon now in the control center and shout out to a Reddit user for finding this I will have credit for that down in the description below but that is really cool and then there are also a few other small UI enhancements and changes just throughout the OS just really small things like shadows missing and things filled in that weren't filled in before and things like that I'm not going to go too heavily into those but there are some nice little UI enhancements throughout iOS 13 beta 4i so now let's move on to some of the bugs in iOS 13 beta 4 that are still present so YouTube we talked about YouTube now and YouTube for the most part has been fixed with beta 4 and also the latest update with YouTube but there is still a major bug inside of YouTube and that comes actually from playing videos inside of playlists so if we go to one of my playlists down here so you can see I have a playlist if I go and start playing a video check out the bottom right here so first of all you can see that we don't even see the video at all it's just a thumbnail you can only see the thumbnail if you tap on it nothing happens there we go it actually plays if you click on it like that but that's not what should be happening here in the YouTube application so we'll try it again with a different video as you can see it does work now no it's still glitching out you can see it's kind of just empty down here you can't do anything you can't watch the video unless you like double tap or whatever I did before you can see it is still pretty buggy when it comes to playing videos from the playlist so it seems like the you know the freezing issues and things like that a lot of the other bugs inside the YouTube application we're fixed but still this issue does remain when you try to play videos from playlists now another bug I found was inside of the music application let me see if it's actually showing up right now so it's not showing up right now but one bug that I faced had multiple times now has been where I cannot adjust the up next song so when I would want to you know adjust I always like to change you know what's up next like this when I could just move them around so I want this song to play we can see there's a bug right there looks kind of weird maybe that's not a bug but you can see it's kind of glitching out there so the museum especially the up next menu is not great so let me show you the bug in my photos application I did take a screenshot of it so you see right there on the right hand side there are no grabbers so I was not able to adjust my up next song so I was not able to move songs around in my up next menu here so that was really annoying because I didn't want you know all these songs playing next I wanted to play a song that was down here and usually I could just move it up with the grabber you know like this I could usually just move it up like that but I wasn't able to do so and that is a new bug here in beta 4 because I never had that in beta 3 there's also another bug inside of the Instagram application so if you go ahead and go to a story right here and we go and press on the volume if we turn our volume you can see up there and the top you can see it kind of overlaps with the time let me try to get you a better view here you can see not only do we have the volume hood on the left hand side but we also have the volume up in the top left and you can see it overlaps with the time and it looks really really bad and really weird so that's definitely on Instagram to fix but it is an annoying bug that I noticed here in iOS 13 at developer beta for now another issue I had was with Wi-Fi so Wi-Fi was actually randomly disconnecting and it would also just randomly ask me for my password multiple times and when I would put in the right password it would say it's wrong now this is definitely not just iOS 13 I had the same issue on this same phone here the iPhone 10's Macs and my iPhone turned out really both of them on iOS 12 I had this issue so not sure why this still exists in iOS 13 I do really don't know what the issue could be it's definitely not you know my router or anything like that so that was an issue it only happened to me twice but it is still annoying when it does happen so if you've had any kind of issues with Wi-Fi let me know down in the comment below because I've not been seeing a lot of people report issues with Wi-Fi here in iOS 13 in general I've also had a lot of people tell me that their banking applications still crash on iOS 13 and that's definitely on the developers of those banking applications my banking application works fine and iOS 13 but there are a lot of people reporting that there's do not and then if we go ahead over to my Twitter account which by the way if you guys aren't following me over on Twitter go ahead and follow me it's just at Brandon butch I actually made a post saying that iOS 13 beta 4 slash public beta 3 is the best most stable release yet zero crashes and things like that but I did have a lot of people report different bugs here in iOS 13 that they're having with beta 4 or public beta 3 so you can see here somebody saying that gaming lags and sometimes other lag 2 you can see somebody there says air pots they'll give false percentages and all of a sudden disconnect for me I have not had that I use my air pots literally every single day when I go on a bike ride I've never had any issues with them on iOS 13 but this guy is having that issue right there and you can just go through and read all of the bugs that people are having or just kind of their experience on iOS 13 over on my Twitter accounts just and reply to this tweet right there but those are just a few of the bugs that other people are facing as well so anyways let's move on to the performance of iOS 13 public beta 3 slash developer beta 4 here so performance has been extremely good on my iPhone 10 MX my iPhone 10 R my iPad pro here and my iPhone 6s which is right here it's actually pretty good on the iPhone 8 as well but I definitely use the iPhone 10s Mac's the most this is my daily driver this is the phone I use and I take it with me places so this is where I've noticed you know performance being really good and this is what I use most of the day so that's really telling you something now there are some infrequent crashes like an Instagram I have had like a random crash an Instagram you know I've had a random respring maybe like once a week at most but those are things that happen to me even on the final release of iOS 12 like iOS 1.3 I was twelve point three point one I was twelve point four I had those random you know respring a random crashes then so just because I have that doesn't mean that it's not a stable release it's still very stable especially for an early beta of iOS 13 so there's really no complaints at all when it comes to performance I mean you did sign up for a beta you you know you can't expect you know final release performance so there's really no point in complaining when you're on at beta so I never really understand why people complain about the performance but performance is really good here in iOS 13 beta 4 now when it comes to the battery life battery life is also really good here in iOS 13 a beta 4 so you can see here battery health is actually on 95% so it went down 2% over the past couple weeks but you can see here I am using my phone quite a bit especially if you go to my last ten days you can see I am using my phone quite a bit more than I usually do but I have noticed that battery life is pretty good here on iOS 13 it's not as good as iOS 12 obviously we are in the beta stages but it's pretty good and I cannot complain at all I mean I do charge my phone a lot you can see there but I am still noticing that the battery life is solid it's very similar to iOS 12 like I said it's not as good but it's very similar like your average everyday user is not really gonna be able to tell a difference in battery life between iOS 12 and the iOS 13 betas that's how good it is for a beta now when it comes to LTE and Wi-Fi connectivity I mentioned that Wi-Fi issue that I had earlier on but when it comes to LTE I'm not had any issues with LTE at all my signal has been perfectly fine I've not had any like call drops or anything like that I never went down to 3G or lost ignore anything like that so really no complaints when it comes to LTE all right so now let's briefly take a look at the community poll here and talk about this so you can see here on my channel I did run a community pool where I asked you guys how iOS 13 beta 4 / public beta 3 has been treating you and you can see 49 percent of people said great I would use it on my daily driver and that's out of 7.4 thousand people 29% said good but a few bugs 12 percent of people said it's okay a few bugs in decent battery life / performance and only 11 percent of people said bad terrible battery life / performance / crashes so you can see by far the majority of people said it's great and I would use it on my daily driver which is really impressive that's a really high number there and it's also a really low number for bad here only 11 percent of people said that it was bad if we go and read some of the comments here you can see I have seen a lot of people say that I use it on my daily driver 2 Broke to have a second iPhone you can see somebody there is having a Wi-Fi connecting problem that's probably the same issue I was having earlier that I mentioned here you can see somebody with a 10 s max had been better than the other betas but still has a few bugs I would definitely agree there I talked about some of those bugs you can see somebody giving their opinion here said iPhone 10 it's been okay for the most of the time but I wouldn't recommend using it on a daily driver the amount of small bugs end up being annoying at into the day now that I don't necessarily agree with because a lot of the bugs are just very very minor and especially they're mostly in third party applications you know like a playlist or something like that I don't really personally watch a lot of videos from playlist so I don't think it's gonna turn a lot of people from using it on their daily driver it definitely would not deter me and I definitely don't recommend you guys just not install it because of some of these minor bugs I think that it is good enough for your daily driver but anyways if you want to read through all these you can go to my channel just go to the community tab you can read through a lot of these as well I don't want to take a bunch of time from you guys just reading all of those when you can read them yourself but like I just mentioned I do definitely think that this release is stable enough to be used on a daily driver that's the reason I installed it on my daily driver for the first time I usually wait till the fourth beta of every major iOS released till I put it on my main device like the device I take everywhere and have to rely on so that's definitely telling you something there so I definitely think it's good enough for your daily driver there are gonna be a few bugs that is a beta that's expected so don't expect everything to be perfect it is a beta but it's still good enough for a daily driver just because it's not terrible you're not gonna have any you know like day altering crashes or anything like that and I can have like your phone application crash on you when you're in the middle of like a conference call or something like that so anyways make sure you guys do report all of the bugs inside of the feedback application so if you run into any kind of issues if you have any crashes any bugs that you want to report definitely go ahead to the feedback application and submit those to Apple so they can be fixed that's something that a lot of people don't do but you definitely should now as for the next iOS 13 a beta release we could actually be seeing at the next iOS 13 major release beta 5 as early as this coming week since Apple does sometimes switch to weekly releases after a fourth beta release it could actually be as early as tomorrow really the 22nd if you're watching this on the 21st it could be sometime this week though from the 22nd to the 26th but if not this week definitely early next week most likely the 29th or the 30th of July and as for the public beta release we will probably see that the following day after the developer beta so we will have the 4th public beta a day after the fifth developer beta but of course make sure you guys are following me over on Twitter I will we or when that comes out right away there you know even beforehand I will give you an update you know cuz sometimes some rumors come out like Mac rumors and 95 Mac will post that an update is coming out so definitely follow me over on Twitter if you're not already so you can be in the loop when it comes to iOS releases like the release dates but anyways guys that's pretty much it for this video I just want to give you guys a really in-depth follow-up on iOS 13 developer beta 4 slash public beta 3 I'm actually running the public beta on my daily driver right here but it is the exact same and like I said I have been and press with it and I hope you guys have been as well but of course leave all your comments down there in the comments section below your experiences I should say down in the comments section below but anyways I hope you guys did enjoy this video if you did make sure give it a thumbs up and of course subscribe so you don't miss any of my future i OS 13 coverage and thank you guys so much again for watching the video and I'll see you soonwhat's up guys my name is Brandon and I've been using iOS 13 developer beta for every day since it was released earlier this week and in this video I wanted to give you guys an update on how it's been running for myself and thousands of other people so we're gonna be going over some more new features and changes in playlist so I don't think it's gonna turn a lot of people from using it on their daily driver it definitely would not deter me and I definitely don't recommend you guys just not install it because of some of these minor bugs I think that it is good enough for your daily driver but anyways if you want to read through all these you can go to my channel just go to the community tab you can read through a lot of these as well I don't want to take a bunch of time from you guys just reading all of those when you can read them yourself but like I just mentioned I do definitely think that this release is stable enough to be used on a daily driver that's the reason I installed it on my daily driver for the first time I usually wait till the fourth beta of every major iOS released till I put it on my main device like the device I take everywhere and have to rely on so that's definitely telling you something there so I definitely think it's good enough for your daily driver there are gonna be a few bugs that is a beta that's expected so don't expect everything to be perfect it is a beta but it's still good enough for a daily driver just because it's not terrible you're not gonna have any you know like day altering crashes or anything like that and I can have like your phone application crash on you when you're in the middle of like a conference call or something like that so anyways make sure you guys do report all of the bugs inside of the feedback application so if you run into any kind of issues if you have any crashes any bugs that you want to report definitely go ahead to the feedback application and submit those to Apple so they can be fixed that's something that a lot of people don't do but you definitely should now as for the next iOS 13 a beta release we could actually be seeing at the next iOS 13 major release beta 5 as early as this coming week since Apple does sometimes switch to weekly releases after a fourth beta release it could actually be as early as tomorrow really the 22nd if you're watching this on the 21st it could be sometime this week though from the 22nd to the 26th but if not this week definitely early next week most likely the 29th or the 30th of July and as for the public beta release we will probably see that the following day after the developer beta so we will have the 4th public beta a day after the fifth developer beta but of course make sure you guys are following me over on Twitter I will we or when that comes out right away there you know even beforehand I will give you an update you know cuz sometimes some rumors come out like Mac rumors and 95 Mac will post that an update is coming out so definitely follow me over on Twitter if you're not already so you can be in the loop when it comes to iOS releases like the release dates but anyways guys that's pretty much it for this video I just want to give you guys a really in-depth follow-up on iOS 13 developer beta 4 slash public beta 3 I'm actually running the public beta on my daily driver right here but it is the exact same and like I said I have been and press with it and I hope you guys have been as well but of course leave all your comments down there in the comments section below your experiences I should say down in the comments section below but anyways I hope you guys did enjoy this video if you did make sure give it a thumbs up and of course subscribe so you don't miss any of my future i OS 13 coverage and thank you guys so much again for watching the video and I'll see you soon\n"
