Wireless Printing from a iOS device like iPad _ iPhone to any printer

How to Wirelessly Print from iOS Devices Using AirPrint Activator

In this video, Ranit from Tech.com will show you how to wirelessly print documents from an iOS device using AirPrint. Before starting, it's essential to note that AirPrint functionality has been released for a while now, but the number of printers that support it is limited.

To begin with, Ranit explains that if you already have a great printer but it doesn't have AirPrint compatibility, there is a small software called AirPrint Activator that can make any printer AirPrint-compatible. This software makes it possible to print documents from your iOS device using your existing printer. The process of configuring the AirPrint Activator is simple and should take about 2 minutes.

To get started with the AirPrint Activator, Ranit recommends downloading the software from this link. He installed version 1.1.3, which works on Snow Leopard, while the beta version is available for Lion users. Once downloaded, click to install it. This will prompt a dialog box that requires the Mac OSX password and installation of required files.

After installation, Ranit opened up System Preferences and went to the Printers & Fax section. It's recommended to switch on your printer before proceeding. When you have switched it on, the green icon should be lit up, indicating that your printer is active. Next, you need to checkmark "Share this printer on the network" and make sure that the printer sharing is enabled.

In Ranit's case, he encountered an issue with the AirPrint functionality not working initially. To resolve this problem, he had to manually remove the printer and reinstall it for the AirPrint functionality to work. However, this may not be necessary for everyone.

To demonstrate how the AirPrint Activator works, Ranit used his Zorox laser printer that has been switched on. He opened up the iPad and went to print a Google web page. To initiate printing, he clicked on the print icon, which might take a couple of seconds to load. Once loaded, it should display the printer as "this is my zorox printer." Ranit then clicked on the same and printed one copy.

As you can see, the printer started making some noise, and hopefully, in a couple of seconds, it will print the Google page. And indeed, as Ranit shows us, this is the page that was printed from his iPad. With AirPrint Activator, users can now wirelessly print documents from their iOS devices using any compatible printer.

In conclusion, if you're looking to extend your wireless printing capabilities using an incompatible printer, the AirPrint Activator software is a great solution. By following these simple steps, you'll be able to access a wider range of printers and enjoy seamless printing experiences on your iOS device.
