**Required Toolkit and Precautions**

The process described in this video requires a toolkit that just makes things a lot easier, but it only works on Windows. Additionally, this tool will wipe your device, so it's essential to back up everything you need, including photos, contacts, etc.

**Downloading the Toolkit**

Once you're ready, we'll download the toolkit by clicking on the link provided beneath the video and downloading from there. The downloaded file should be saved to your desktop. Next, we'll enable USB debugging on the phone. To do this, pull down the notification, tap the top, tap settings, scroll all the way down to About Phone, and then scroll down to Build Number. Keep tapping it until it tells you "A. The developer." Then, hit back and go to Developer Options. Make sure that USB debugging is checked on.

**Plugging the Phone into the Computer**

Next, we'll plug the phone into the computer via USB. Unfortunately, the phone doesn't come with a USB-C to USB cable, so you may need to purchase one online or have a new computer with USB-C ports. If you don't have a cable, you can search for it on the internet.

**Allowing ADB Access**

Once you've plugged in the phone, if you get a popup that says "Allow this computer," check "Always allow" and click OK to continue. If you experience any issues with ADB, you can click the link provided below to be taken to my video tutorial, which is quick and easy.

**Installing the Toolkit**

Right-click on the toolkit we downloaded and hit Run as Administrator. Click Install, wait for it to install, and then open up the toolkit. You'll choose the device that you have, which in this case is a 5X. Select the build by going to Settings and About, and click "Apply" and "OK." The toolkit will eventually open, and we're ready to begin.

**Flashing Stock and Unrooting**

We'll flash the stock firmware and unroot our device. Click on the "Flash Talk and On Rout" option and then select that automatically for us. Make sure you're choosing that automatically because if your device is in a boot loop or can't turn on well, you should choose the other option instead.

**Rebooting and Locking the Bootloader**

After flashing, we'll reboot our device, which will give us a warning message. Click OK to continue, and then we'll watch as all the text appears on the screen. Once it's done, we can close that window, and the phone will be back in its Factory State.

**Relocking the Bootloader (Optional)**

Now that we have our device back in stock, we may want to relock the bootloader for security reasons or if we plan on selling the phone. To do this, we'll enable USB debugging again and then click OEM Lock. This will erase everything, so be careful.

**Final Steps**

Once you're ready, use the volume buttons to select and power to choose yes. The device should reboot, and no longer have the unlocked logo on the boot screen. You can now go through the setup process quickly or leave it as is if you plan on selling the phone.

you try to send in for warranty or anything like that they're going to know uh so what you can do is you can actually relock that and this will be back to completely Factory spec as in the way it was when it first came out of the box so to do that with the phone still plugged in and now USB debugging enabled I'm going to click OEM lock then I'm going to click okay and then on the phone it's going
