A Home Tour of Enchantment: Our Experience at Lake Hartwell

As we stepped inside this charming a-frame home, surrounded by the serene beauty of Lake Hartwell, we couldn't help but feel a sense of enchantment. The owners' love for this property was palpable, and it showed in every detail, from the plush bedding to the thoughtful decor. We were immediately drawn to the cozy reading nook on the upstairs loft area, which became Landon's favorite hideaway. With its little books, twinkle lights, and plush cushions, this space felt like a secret sanctuary, tucked away from the rest of the world.

One of our first discoveries was the balcony overlooking the front, which offered breathtaking views of the lake. We were awestruck by the sheer beauty of it all, from the misty morning fog rising off the water to the vibrant colors of the sun as it set over the horizon. This private outdoor space became our own personal oasis, where we could sit and watch the world go by, sipping coffee and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere.

As we explored the home further, we fell in love with the thoughtful details that made this space truly special. The owner had curated an exquisite collection of artwork, books, and decorative pieces, each one telling a story or evoking a sense of wonder. We were particularly fond of the bedside tables, which added a touch of whimsy to the room, and the plush area rug, which was so soft and inviting that we couldn't resist giving in to its charms.

The pièce de résistance, however, was the magical loft within a loft space. This hidden gem was tucked away behind a cleverly designed ladder, and once we discovered it, we were hooked. The twinkling lights, plush cushions, and cozy nooks created an atmosphere that felt like our own private paradise. We spent hours lounging in this enchanted space, feeling like we'd stumbled upon a secret world that few others knew existed.

As the day drew to a close, we took a stroll down to the lake's edge, where we discovered a beautiful pathway paved all the way down. The boathouse and kayaks waited patiently for us, beckoning us to explore the water's edge. We paddled out onto the calm waters, feeling the stress and fatigue of the day melt away with each gentle stroke of the paddle.

and we're getting to stay at this place i cannot believe it i know we're not just touring it we're actually staying here overnight oh i know i'm so excited i always cannot stand it the minute we pulled up we just got so excited you guys are not going to believe this place it's gonna blow your mind maybe the trees will whisper the word maybe the sun will spread your joy to the ones who loves um well hello and welcome to the house of valentina i'm valentina and my husband jack and i we've just sent our children on a walk so we could have a few quiet moments to chat with you about this amazing a-frame home that we are staying in oh my gosh this place is literally amazing it is absolutely amazing i have to be honest i really thought right before we filmed i thought maybe we shouldn't tell anybody because we're never going to get another reservation here i know it's really as it is it's already difficult to get a reservation because it's so beautiful this is going to make it even harder it's incredible we have had the most amazing time staying here we booked it for the weekend and it's literally only about an hour and a half even from downtown atlanta even with traffic even with traffic an hour and a half from the city and you were literally on this beautiful lake and it is a whole different world yes we're at lake hartwell we're still in georgia but it's right on the south carolina border it is charm in and of itself so we're very excited to be able to share with you about this home and to give you a full tour yeah we have so many more home tours just like this well yes from the minute that we drove up to this house i was so excited oh my goodness it's like you're literally just kind of out in the middle of nowhere honestly as you're coming up here this is a very secluded very quiet sleepy area of georgia it's very natural and green and all the leaves are changing and then you turn that corner and you see that that a-frame coming into focus and it's like oh oh my gosh oh my gosh what is this i'm so excited this is such a fun experience our kids really didn't even know what an a-frame really was and i think even before we stayed here even the two of us i would say we didn't know that much about a-frames but um i was reading up on the a-frame and i think it's so cool because they got really popular in the 70s and they were known as a leisure home it was something that middle-class families could actually afford to have and so they typically will be somewhere closer to a city because a lot of times they were building them so that they could just escape from the city for the weekend and have a leisurely weekend and i thought that was so cool because that's exactly what it was like for us we just we're all so busy right now i feel like half the time we don't see our kids and no it was like wow we get a whole weekend in this gorgeous a-frame it's gonna be so fun to have this leader time with our family so we're out in the middle of the woods where it totally lives up to every expectation it does yeah so as you start to enter the home you definitely see that there's a great porch although i do love the porch and it is fun that you have a balcony for upstairs but the deck as soon as you walk in the front door all you see is that deck way ahead of you but we'll have to get to that in just a second yes before we get there we want to take you through the home as as you would see it do you think we'll do that okay okay yeah because the treat there's one treat at the end of this video yeah that landed discovered actually it was just so cool okay so yes so as you come in the door to the right that's the bedroom that the girls took over they loved that haley got to bring her best friend with her and the girls loved that bedroom i think it's just the perfect size because it does have a queen size bed in there it has a very cute vibe that front bedroom is so cute it's got the cutest decor did you notice the little rack for the coats in there i thought that was so mid-century it's so fun yes that entire room what i love about that room is that it's far enough away from the family room that you can actually go to bed early or sleep in late if you want to and not be disturbing which is exactly what they did yes they did they stayed up all night giggling and slept in late this morning i also love just the architecture of that room because it's interesting because this is an a-frame and so they've put the bedrooms at the front of the home so that the back as you can see from where we're sitting is going to be two-story and really open so it is very private and yet it does have beautiful architectural features with the windows in there and it just it was the perfect bedroom for the girls to have a little sleepover in that's perfect as you move your way down the hallway to the left is another bedroom so the boys take over that bedroom because they like being in there landon honestly wanted to sleep somewhere else but i'll tell you where that is in a minute instead we were like oh that quit ready for that so the boys took over that bedroom which is interesting because it's actually the biggest bedroom in the house and it really is set up almost like an owner's suite it's really big it's got a queen-size bed lots of room there's a closet in there but i just i loved the decor i loved that rust color and the blanket i loved everything about it they have a really great olive tree in there oh yeah side tables with the cute lamps that amazing skylight coming in so you've got that soft light coming in it's not harsh and brash but just perfect light i love the desk that was set up with the little antlers and just how cute everything in the room just felt so cute i even noticed just the color palette with the rug and the bedding and everything everything about it was just it was perfect yeah the boys really loved it great boys they slept they said that they slept really great in there so then these two bedrooms have access to a bathroom which is actually for the main floor and the decor in that bathroom is so cute too they did a really cute job with the bat with the bathtubs yeah they've got great subway tile in there and inset for the shampoos yes and the shampoos and stuff were so cute and they smelled really good they did smell really really yeah i thought that was such a great touch because this is an airbnb and so that's what's so fun about it is that it's a little bit more dressed up than obviously we're not since we get to stay here rather than like a real estate listing we actually get to stay and enjoy and really get the feel of the place there's also washer and dryer in there yeah which is really nice because if you were coming for a week or several days and obviously when it's not cold you would go in the lake yeah and you've got a great place to clean up and get everything fresh again yeah well even landon was out playing in the woods so if if we were staying longer it would be nice to have that have all the laundry detergent and everything in there if you need it but that's what's so cool about an airbnb is that you really get to feel like you get to move in yes you get to experience home in this other place and that's always our favorite way to travel yeah yeah oh are we gonna get to go to the best part yeah so then you walk down the hallway and all you see is this two-story gorgeous room i'm like it is so beautiful in here so beautiful i don't even know where to start as soon as you walk in you're just like it's so true it's so true we were both just like it's beautiful we just stood literally at all all throughout the evening just would just stop and we were just in awe of the space you have sweeping two-story uh family room here with the kitchen just everything's really open even though there were six of us here it did not feel cramped at all it these are typically not big humongous spaces but it was it's perfect we all sat here on the sofa so we just sat and watched christmas movies and relax together i absolutely love the decor in this room it's really fun when you travel because you get to experience something different and that's what's so fun is when we only decorate our own house you get one but when you travel you get to especially airbnb style like this you get to really experience a completely different style so this one has as you can see the lush green velvet sofa in here the rich jewel tone rug the gorgeous gorgeous coffee table that is like your favorite thing i love this coffee table he's like can we get one i know i'm like where do i buy this now i know i know uh we'll try to maybe even leave a little maybe just a little pdf that they could download that would have some like similar look if you wanted to well anyways it's amazing here it's got beautiful brown leather oh those leather chairs are so beautiful and we sat them last night and looked at books together and they were so incredibly comfortable so was the sofa and it was great because all the kids piled on here i was on here at one point with landon all cuddled up and there's stools you can put your feet up you've got the coffee table it's my favorite thing is that they actually have this airbnb loaded with books i brought books with me thinking i wouldn't have anything to read because a lot of times we go places and there's nothing there yeah they had i can i show them the book that i already ordered for you yes okay we should be home it'll be at our house before this video is published so it will because it will hold my coffee for just a second i got so excited i was sitting here we were cuddling and i was reading this the modern a-frame book and it has all these stories of families who have purchased maybe one that they uh renovated this one was actually built new which is pretty cool yeah like just a few years ago yeah so i now i'm like oh man i've got some fun now all i want is an a-frames all i can think about man i'm hooked it's really cool because these are stories of people who have renovated them but you can also still buy the kits i was looking it up this morning yeah you can buy the kits and they'll even send you everything and all you have to have is a contractor lined up to put it together to put plumbing in and everything so if ikea sold them all you'd need is a hex wrench it's actually really close to that are you serious yeah i'm really serious it's that like you buy the plan they like walk through everything with you oh my gosh that's like adult legos it really is i would love to have an a friend yeah and and i love the fact that in so many of these homes they actually had the fisher price a frame that's something that we grew up i grew up with and it's just really fun so i just sat with this book and i loved it so much i ordered it for him because i knew that you you would love this i know i i kind of hogged it i was reading all the stories and having such a good time yeah that was really fun they did have a nice big tv in here which is great for watching movies and what i really like about the tvs it's not blocking the view yes it's not blocking anything so you can still feel like you're watching tv but you have this gorgeous view when the sun is up it's open to your i mean we're both flipping out over this kitchen we're like oh my gosh this kitchen first thing you see is this island with this waterfall quartz on it oh my gosh it's impressive it's so impressive and it's fun because since i was looking through the a-frame book and seeing all the different ways that people put them together it really just made me realize just how well this a-frame is set up the the way that they've situated the bedrooms in the front and then this so open and the fact that they've put that kitchen along that wall and taken that whole wall for the kitchen it really is such a great use of the space it was ideal for us as a family oh yeah like we cooked last night and then had everyone sitting at the bar enjoying dinner together and it was just it was one of those moments you just don't want it to stop yeah it's literally the word hygge so hugely yeah that cozy perfect moment that it was it we we've just been in heaven since we got here haven't we yo yeah totally the aesthetic of this home is just so peaceful it's calm and scandy oh is it scandi we really feel like we said even while we were sitting there uh getting food ready for dinner last night we were just like if we would just swear that we were actually in denmark or in scandinavia like that you just felt that feeling in this home so the angles the soft light yeah the um yeah the lighting in here they just did everything right oh did we even talk about the floors we haven't even honey we haven't finished talking about the kitchen oh my gosh well the floors play so much i'm telling you we have so much to share with you the floors play such a big role in that scandi field because they just reflect light everywhere yes it's so light i love the natural color that they used for the stain they also accented with a richer honey tone and i think it just works in this home it really helps it to feel very warm and inviting but the walls are actually painted in more of like a creamy it almost feels like cloud cover which is like my favorite white right now it's a very soft diffused white so it just feels it doesn't feel stark at all it feels really natural it felt really soft and i felt like that just played so well with the kitchen cabinets because they're just a slight taupe color and they're slab so it definitely is very modern but you know i love when they do that um the minimal hardware on the drawers just the little finger pools yeah i love that the bar is so long because then we could just serve that's where we also did brunch this morning i'm telling you we have lived every minute up in this place we've just had the best time oh yeah and if you want to see more of us living by the way check out the vlog which is linked probably up here or somewhere down below because again there's we did so much fun stuff in this kitchen and with the family room with the family over the weekend yeah and it was so cute because the homeowners literally have everything stocked in the kitchen so if you're staying here as an airbnb stay and you're not just here to get inspiration it's great because they had coffee and little snacks they have the care egg we did bring our nespresso because we kind of don't travel without it if you come and it is rainy or it's dark it is nice that you do have that dining area i loved the wood accent it just photographed so well i was just like did you see this how pretty this is absolutely perfect i love that space i may have gone out actually you went out into the woods with the clippers and got a few little branches i did i was the forging fox this weekend yes he was the forging silver fox yeah i am now of course off this main level we have what was definitely your favorite part of how to drag you in and that's from the deck oh my gosh so first of all you have these two really large sliding doors that go out and this deck is literally amazing the lake is that direction you've got a nice wooden space between you and the lake so you have some privacy but you can hear the water you can hear the boats occasionally going by it's like a a light sound though it's a very light sound just peaceful the deck is huge plenty of room for a table of six people to sit and eat plus you have some sitting areas you've got a grill oh and we didn't even get to utilize that down below it's the little fire pit area yeah we didn't use it this time we weren't here long enough but we'll definitely be planning for our next trip to bring some s'mores supplies i know unless lana was wanting me to go be a lumberjack because he found an axe he's like come on dad live up to your name yeah best part which we haven't even gotten to is the fact that you have an upstairs in this a-frame it just depends on what kind of a-frame you have sometimes there's nothing there's no upstairs sometimes it might be they might use the full length of the home and the way they set this up is exactly how i would do it oh yeah totally they have the loft that's up there you go up the the stairs which i just think the architecture of the stairs is really pretty as well it's very very pretty and we both were geeking out over the lights we're just such dorks we're like i love these lights oh i love this railing oh look at this door handle oh my gosh totally geeking out she's like what are you doing last night i was staring at a light trying to figure out literally just standing there looking at the light i was like are you all right you're having a stroke sorry the light and i were having a moment apparently i think he was trying to figure out how he could get those home i know i was talking about what there was a brand or anything maybe we could just text the owners maybe say no yeah when you go upstairs you're gonna have the loft area which was landon's favorite area he felt like he had like this little secret hideaway where no one knew that he was sitting up there they have it set up like with little books and it's a little reading nook and that leads into what i think really felt like the primary bedroom ultimately because it really has its own bathroom and it's really separate and it's charming i loved it and that bedroom faces out over the front it actually has a balcony overlooking the front so you could actually go out there in the morning drink coffee hang out read a book first thing i did this morning i first of all i took an actual just a picture did you really from the bed because i was like literally we woke we went to bed underneath the stars and we woke up to the birds just singing and it was so charming to wake up like that and i loved it this room has a secret little thing about it not only is the decor really cute and i love the bedding i've actually ordered something very similar for our own house and they had some really cute decor in there i loved the rug and all of that the bedside tables were so cute everything was just so adorable the way they have it set up but the best part is it up this really cool ladder that just looks amazing first of all in video and photos i'm like i just want a ladder just to look that good okay but landon scurried up and discovered that there's actually a little loft up there yeah and you literally they have they have it set up with twinkle lights and cushions and we just literally laid up there together and just it's a loft within a loft it was magical so magical it reminded me of actually our home in denmark where we had a similar little attic kind of space yeah we did and it was just so charming up there it's been really amazing because you have all these beautiful features inside the home and it's epic and beautiful and amazing and then you just go for long walks and yeah down to the lake yeah let's not even forget that we are on the lakes there's a beautiful pathway down paved all the way so you could take a wagon with you or whatever there's a beautiful boathouse down there there's kayaks and i think paddle boards that you could use i went out early this morning and it was just completely quiet just the smoke rise this the fog rising up off the water it was perfect just amazing what an incredible experience i i mean this is lake hartwell we're in georgia i mean i think because we moved overseas so when we were so young i don't know that i really realized just how beautiful georgia is and how many beautiful places there are to go within our own state and i just feel like we just got like this just this fresh breath of air and it was just this has been such an enchanting experience it really has i absolutely love this and now it has me wanting to go to so many more a-frames yes so we are beautiful brown leather oh those leather chairs are so beautiful and we sat them last night and looked at books together and they were so incredibly comfortable so was the sofa and it was great because all the kids piled on here i was on here at one point with landon all cuddled up and there's stools you can put your feet up you've got the coffee table it's my favorite thing is that they actually have this airbnb loaded with books i brought books with me thinking i wouldn't have anything to read because a lot of times we go places and there's nothing there yeah they had i can i show them the book that i already ordered for you yes okay we should be home it'll be at our house before this video is published so it will because it will hold my coffee for just a second i got so excited i was sitting here we were cuddling and i was reading this the modern a-frame book and it has all these stories of families who have purchased maybe one that they uh renovated this one was actually built new which is pretty cool yeah like just a few years ago yeah so i now i'm like oh man i've got some fun now all i want is an a-frames all i can think about man i'm hooked it's really cool because these are stories of people who have renovated them but you can also still buy the kits i was looking it up this morning yeah you can buy the kits and they'll even send you everything and all you have to have is a contractor lined up to put it together to put plumbing in and everything so if ikea sold them all you'd need is a hex wrench it's actually really close to that are you serious yeah i'm really serious it's that like you buy the plan they like walk through everything with you oh my gosh that's like adult legos it really is i would love to have an a friend yeah and and i love the fact that in so many of these homes they actually had the fisher price a frame that's something that we grew up i grew up with and it's just really fun so i just sat with this book and i loved it so much i ordered it for him because i knew that you you would love this i know i i kind of hogged it i was reading all the stories and having such a good time yeah that was really fun they did have a nice big tv in here which is great for watching movies and what i really like about the tvs it's not blocking the view yes it's not blocking anything so you can still feel like you're watching tv but you have this gorgeous view when the sun is up it's open to your i mean we're both flipping out over this kitchen we're like oh my gosh this kitchen first thing you see is this island with this waterfall quartz on it oh my gosh it's impressive it's so impressive and it's fun because since i was looking through the a-frame book and seeing all the different ways that people put them together it really just made me realize just how well this a-frame is set up the the way that they've situated the bedrooms in the front and then this so open and the fact that they've put that kitchen along that wall and taken that whole wall for the kitchen it really is such a great use of the space it was ideal for us as a family oh yeah like we cooked last night and then had everyone sitting at the bar enjoying dinner together and it was just it was one of those moments you just don't want it to stop yeah it's literally the word hygge so hugely yeah that cozy perfect moment that it was it we we've just been in heaven since we got here haven't we yo yeah totally the aesthetic of this home is just so peaceful it's calm and scandy oh is it scandi we really feel like we said even while we were sitting there uh getting food ready for dinner last night we were just like if we would just swear that we were actually in denmark or in scandinavia like that you just felt that feeling in this home so the angles the soft light yeah the um yeah the lighting in here they just did everything right oh did we even talk about the floors we haven't even honey we haven't finished talking about the kitchen oh my gosh well the floors play so much i'm telling you we have so much to share with you the floors play such a big role in that scandi field because they just reflect light everywhere yes it's so light i love the natural color that they used for the stain they also accented with a richer honey tone and i think it just works in this home it really helps it to feel very warm and inviting but the walls are actually painted in more of like a creamy it almost feels like cloud cover which is like my favorite white right now it's a very soft diffused white so it just feels it doesn't feel stark at all it feels really natural it felt really soft and i felt like that just played so well with the kitchen cabinets because they're just a slight taupe color and they're slab so it definitely is very modern but you know i love when they do that um the minimal hardware on the drawers just the little finger pools yeah i love that the bar is so long because then we could just serve that's where we also did brunch this morning i'm telling you we have lived every minute up in this place we've just had the best time oh yeah and if you want to see more of us living by the yeah and it was so cute because the homeowners literally have everything stocked in the kitchen so if you're staying here as an airbnb stay and you're not just here to get inspiration it's great because they had coffee and little snacks they have the care egg we did bring our nespresso because we kind of don't travel without it if you come and it is rainy or it's dark it is nice that you do have that dining area i loved the wood accent it just photographed so well i was just like did you see this how pretty this is absolutely perfect i love that space i may have gone out actually you went out into the woods with the clippers and got a few little branches i did i was the forging fox this weekend yes he was the forging silver fox yeah i am now of course off this main level we have what was definitely your favorite part of how to drag you in and that's from the deck oh my gosh so first of all you have these two really large sliding doors that go out and this deck is literally amazing the lake is that direction you've got a nice wooden space between you and the lake so you have some privacy but you can hear the water you can hear the boats occasionally going by it's like a a light sound though it's a very light sound just peaceful the deck is huge plenty of room for a table of six people to sit and eat plus you have some sitting areas you've got a grill oh and we didn't even get to utilize that down below it's the little fire pit area yeah we didn't use it this time we weren't here long enough but we'll definitely be planning for our next trip to bring some s'mores supplies i know unless lana was wanting me to go be a lumberjack because he found an axe he's like come on dad live up to your name yeah best part which we haven't even gotten to is the fact that you have an upstairs in this a-frame it just depends on what kind of a-frame you have sometimes there's nothing there's no upstairs sometimes it might be they might use the full length of the home and the way they set this up is exactly how i would do it oh yeah totally they have the loft that's up there you go up the the stairs which i just think the architecture of the stairs is really pretty as well it's very very pretty and we both were geeking out over the lights we're just such dorks we're like i love these lights oh i love this railing oh look at this door handle oh my gosh totally geeking out she's like what are you doing last night i was staring at a light trying to figure out literally just standing there looking at the light i was like are you all right you're having a stroke sorry the light and i were having a moment apparently i think he was trying to figure out how he could get those home i know i was talking about what there was a brand or anything maybe we could just text the owners maybe say no yeah when you go upstairs you're gonna have the loft area which was landon's favorite area he felt like he had like this little secret hideaway where no one knew that he was sitting up there they have it set up like with little books and it's a little reading nook and that leads into what i think really felt like the primary bedroom ultimately because it really has its own bathroom and it's really separate and it's charming i loved it and that bedroom faces out over the front it actually has a balcony overlooking the front so you could actually go out there in the morning drink coffee hang out read a book first thing i did this morning i first of all i took an actual just a picture did you really from the bed because i was like literally we woke we went to bed underneath the stars and we woke up to the birds just singing and it was so charming to wake up like that and i loved it this room has a secret little thing about it not only is the decor really cute and i love the bedding i've actually ordered something very similar for our own house and they had some really cute decor in there i loved the rug and all of that the bedside tables were so cute everything was just so adorable the way they have it set up but the best part is it up this really cool ladder that just looks amazing first of all in video and photos i'm like i just want a ladder just to look that good okay but landon scurried up and discovered that there's actually a little loft up there yeah and you literally they have they have it set up with twinkle lights and cushions and we just literally laid up there together and just it's a loft within a loft it was magical so magical it reminded me of actually our home in denmark where we had a similar little attic kind of space yeah we did and it was just so charming up there it's been really amazing because you have all these beautiful features inside the home and it's epic and beautiful and amazing and then you just go for long walks and yeah down to the lake yeah let's not even forget that we are on the lakes there's a beautiful pathway down paved all the way so you could take a wagon with you or whatever there's a beautiful boathouse down there there's kayaks and i think paddle boards that you could use i went out early this morning and it was just completely quiet just the smoke rise this the fog rising up off the water it was perfect just amazing what an incredible experience i i mean this is lake hartwell we're in georgia i mean i think because we moved overseas so when we were so young i don't know that i really realized just how beautiful georgia is and how many beautiful places there are to go within our own state and i just feel like we just got like this just this fresh breath of air and it was just this has been such an enchanting experience it really has i absolutely love this and now it has me wanting to go to so many more a-frames yes so we are hoping that you guys will love this so much
