"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: en- This is the Nothing Phone 2.It follows on from thesuccess of the Phone 1with an updated display, cameras, and improved glyph interface, and a much more powerful chipset, but at a higher price. What's up, guys?Saf here on \"SuperSaf TV\"with one of the first videosin the world with Nothing Phone 2.So a thumbs up for yourboy will be appreciated.Let's get it unboxed. Now the Nothing Phone 2 is availablein a white and a dark gray.I have both, so let's unbox them together, and the unboxing experienceis actually betterthan the Phone 1.If you remember the Phone 1,everything kind of slid out,and although we stillhave the tab to rip open, which actually messedup on the white version, there is a separate box that slides outand is self-contained.So if you do want tosell your Nothing Phone 2at some point, you're going tobe able to box it up nicely.Inside the box, thereis the Nothing Phone 2,which we can put to the side for a second. There's some safety informationand a warranty card. There's a new semi-transparentNothing USBC to USBC cable, and a SIM card ejector tool.Let's now get to the Nothing Phone 2.Now, it does come with apre-applied screen protector, which is a nice touch, and here it is.This is the white version, andwe also have the dark gray.So I think first impressions,it's very familiar to the Nothing Phone 1.It's funny that Carl did tweetsabout the Galaxy S22 Ultraversus the S23 Ultra, andeverybody just responded to himwith this, because theNothing Phone 2 leaks lookeda lot like the Nothing Phone 1,but there are some slight differences.Firstly, the Nothing Phone2 is a little bit largerthan the Nothing Phone 1.It's also a little bit heavier. We still have a flat aluminum framewhich is made from 100% recycled aluminum, and there's actually a bigemphasis on sustainability,so we've got 100% recycled tinon some parts of the circuit board. There's also 80% recycled plastic used.If you want to find out moreabout the sustainabilityof the Nothing Phone2, there will be a linkdown in the description belowas well as a link to buy this.So one of the key differencesat the back is that wenow have curved glasstowards the edges, andthis does actually makethe Nothing Phone 2 feel alittle bit more comfortablethan the Nothing Phone 1.We've got IP54 rating forwater and dust resistance,up from IP53, so that essentially meansthat the dust resistance is the same, but it's slightly better water resistance,so if you do get direct water on,it should be absolutely fine. And the colors, so thewhite's quite similar, but we now have this lighter grayso we can see a bit moreof the rear components. The white doesn't attractas many fingerprints, well, they don't show up as much, whereas the gray still shows up,but not as much as the Nothing Phone 1.Now, I still quite like the design.I mean, from the frontit looks like an iPhone, but from the back thisis really quite unique, and to be honest, Iwasn't expecting it to bedrastically differentto the Nothing Phone 1,because the back of theNothing Phone 1 is probably oneof the most unique designs thatwe've seen in recent times. Now, let's talk aboutthis glyph interface, because although it's quite familiar, this is now a lot more segmented. So we've got 33 individualaddressable zones, and basically this allowsfor a lot more customization. So we've got everything thatwe had on the Nothing Phone 1,but now we have essentialglyph notifications,so these are more persistent notificationsfor important people or apps.We now have adaptive glyph brightness,so there is actually asensor above the camera, and this will sense your surroundingsand adapt the brightnessof the glyph accordingly. The glyph can also now getbrighter and also get dimmerthan we had on the Nothing Phone 1.There's a glyph timer so you can set itfor how long you want it to be,and then you can face thephone down to start the timer. And this time, we are going to havemore third party integration,so for instance, with Uber, you'll be able to see the progressof your ride with the glyphs. Now, this is all well and good, and I do like that we've gotthese features, but generally,I tend to have my phonefacing forward so I cansee it always on display. If I'm waiting for my Uberor if I am sighting my Uber,I'm not really going to havemy phone facing backwards.I'm going to actually be onmy phone, so cool features, but I'm not sure how muchI'm going to be using them. Now, I think the biggest improvementto the glyph is actuallythe new Glyph Composer. This is a dedicated appwhich gives you 10 secondsto record a custom glyph pattern, which you can use as aringtone or notification. Now, there will be collaborationswith music artists. We've already heard that there will be onewith Swedish House Mafia.(musical beep tones)(upbeat music)So you'll be able to get custom ringtonesand glyph notifications forparticular music artists.Kind of reminds me ofback in the Nokia days, which a lot of you guys willbe too young to remember, where you could actuallycompose your own ringtones.Well, you're going tobe able to do this nowwith this glyph pattern, which is pretty cool. Now, a lot of you guys arealso going to be wondering, will these features be comingto the Nothing Phone 1?Now, unfortunately, a lot ofthese are not going to be comingto the Nothing Phone 1,because it has a different LED system.Let's now talk about the display. The display was actuallyone of my favorite featureson the Nothing Phone 1.With uniform bezels, especially for its price point, the Nothing Phone 2 alsohas a very nice display. We've still got those uniform bezels, but they are slightly narrower, and it is a larger overalldisplay, 6.7 inches, versus the 6.55 inches thatwe had on the Nothing Phone 1.This is also now an LTPO display, which means it has anadaptive refresh rate, and it can go all the waydown to just one hertz, which is supposed tomake it more efficient. We still have the indisplay fingerprint scanner, and the Nothing Phone 2 doeshave a brighter display. So Nothing Phone 1 wasn't bad,but regular brightness waspeaked at around 500 nitswith HDR brightness up to 1,200 nits. The Nothing Phone 2 has aregular brightness of 1,000 nitsand an HDR peak of 1,600 nits,so overall first impression, very nice display, very nice.Right, cameras, so forthe front-facing camera,we actually have a new sensor. It's a 32 megapixel SonyIMX 615, so that's upfrom the 16 megapixelsthat we had on the Phone 1,and on the rear, we still havedual 50 megapixel cameras. The ultra wide isactually the same sensor,it is the Samsung JN1.This can also shoot macro shots. However, the primarycamera has been improved. This is now a 50 megapixelSony IMX 890 sensor,so this is a one over 1.56 inch sensorwith optical image stabilization. Now, the biggest thingto consider is the factthat we have a new 18-bitimage signal processor,an ISP which comes aspart of the chip set.So that means improvedimages across the board.Primary camera obviously has a new sensor, but even though the ultra widecamera has the same sensoras we had last year, you are going to be able toprocess a lot more with the ISP.So we've got advanced HDRwhich will be able to combineeight frames of differentexposures into one.On the Phone 1, youcould only combine three. This should give you muchbetter dynamic range. We've got improved stabilization,as well as improvements for video. So on the Nothing Phone 2, you've got 4Kup to 60 frames a second, upfrom 4K 30 frames a second.Slow-mo can be up to 480 frames a second. On the Phone 1, we had upto 120 frames a second. Now, if you want to seea default comparisonbetween the Nothing Phone1 and the Nothing Phone 2including lots of camera samples, then I'm actually workingon that right now,and it's going to be live in a few days,so be sure to subscribeand hit that bell iconso you don't miss it.Now, we mentioned the new chip set,and it is the QualcommSnapdragon 8+ Gen 1,which was the flagship chipset for the later part of 2022.The 2023 flagship chip set is the 8 Gen 2,so it's not the newest, but to balance price and performance,Nothing has decided togo with the 8+ Gen 1,which is still a very capableand efficient chip set. Now, according to Nothing,it will give an 80% improvement overallin performance compared to the Phone 1,with app opening times twice as fast. We've got a base ofeight gigabytes of RAM,going up to 12, and withstorage base of 120 gigabytes, going up to 512 gigabytes this year. Now for the software, theNothing Phone 2 will comewith Nothing OS 2.0 out of the box.I really like Nothing OS, it's clean.Kind of reminds me ofOxygen OS back in the day,and Nothing has promisedthree years of Android updateswith four years of securitypatches every two months, and they've alreadygot a good track recordwith the Nothing Phone 1,which has already had ninesoftware updates since launch, and the Nothing Phone 1 will be gettingthe Nothing OS 2.0 update in August. The Nothing Phone 2 willhave this out of the box.So Nothing OS 2.0, we'vegot the monochrome theme. We have new folder configuration,so you've got circular folder icons. You've also got Nothing branded iconsto assign to apps as well as folders. You can also use Android emojis for these. You've got the optionof four or five columnsto take advantage of the larger screen, and you can also turn off app labelsfor a cleaner look with more space.Widgets can now be always on display, and quick settings canbe on the lock screen. So for instance, if there isa setting that you use a lotsuch as hotspot, then you can have that on the lock screen. So nice improvements, whicha lot of will be comingto the Nothing Phone 1 as well. Now for the battery, so theNothing Phone 2 does havea slightly larger battery,4,700 milliamps comparedto the Phone 1 which hadaround 4,500 milliamps. The Nothing Phone 1 was actually very goodwith battery life andlasted me the whole day.The Nothing Phone 2,I would expect to havebetter battery lifedespite the larger display, because you have the moreefficient LTPO technology,as well as the more efficientchip set, the 8+ Gen 1.Charging has also been improved,so the Phone 1 did havesupport for up to 33 watts of charging, which would charge itfully in around 70 minutes. The Nothing Phone 2 does have supportfor 45 watts of charging, which will give you a fullcharge in around 55 minutes, despite the larger battery.Charger does not comeincluded out of the box,so you are going to haveto get this separately.G wireless charging isstill the same 15 watts, and it will take around 10 minutes longerto fully charge the Phone2 compared to the Phone 1if you are wirelessly chargingit, around 130 minutes. You still have five wattsof reverse charging, which I barely use, butit does look very coolif you are charging theNothing EM 1s or 2s.Now, if we take a look around the device,at the top we have just a mic.On the left hand side, thereare the volume buttons. On the right hand side, there's power button. At the bottom, there isthe USB type C ports. There's a SIM card tray withspace for two SIM cards, and we have one of thetwo series speakers. One is bot firing, andone is in the earpiece. So how much is the NothingPhone 2 going to cost?Well, I did say it was goingto be at a higher price, and that higher price isgoing to be 579 pounds, which is almost 50% morecompared to the Nothing Phone 1.Now, considering the newfeatures that we have here, the improved cameras, thechip set, the display,as well as the updated glyph interface, this is something that I was expecting, and I think it isreasonable price increase. In the US, it will bestarting at around $600.This is for the base 128 gigabyte versionwith eight gigabytes of RAM,and you can go all the wayup to 512 gigabyteswith 12 gigabytes of RAMfor around 700 pounds inthe UK or $800 in the US.You can pre-order now withlimited drops in New York,London, and others, with opensales from the 17th of July. Now, as with the Phone 1,I do expect stock levels tobe pretty low to begin with, but I will leave some linksdown in the description belowif you're thinking ofgetting the Nothing Phone 2.The Nothing Phone 1 will still be on salefor the same price, 399pounds, and if you're thinkingshould you just go forthe Nothing Phone 1?Well, as mentioned, Iam going to be workingon a detailed comparisonthat will be comingin the next couple of days, soif you want to see that first,be sure to subscribeand hit that bell icon. What do you guys thinkof the Nothing Phone 2?Throw me a comment below, let me know your thoughts.I hope you
