A Journey Through Berlin: My Experience with Porsche and Ice Cream Sundaes

As I sat down to enjoy my dinner, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation for what the night had in store. The restaurant was serving beef short ribs and mashed potatoes, which looked incredibly appetizing. "That's not bad," I said to myself, taking a bite. "It beats anything in economy." The service was attentive and friendly, and I appreciated the personalized touch that came with being treated like a VIP.

After dinner, we were presented with an after-dinner snack of cheese crackers and grapes. It was a simple but satisfying treat that hit the spot just what I needed to keep me going for the rest of the evening. But the real pièce de résistance was yet to come - our ice cream sundaes. I opted for caramel and strawberry, which looked absolutely divine. I couldn't wait to dig in and experience the sweet treat.

As we made our way through the night, my excitement only grew. We had flown through the night and were now approaching Berlin, where I would be spending the next few days exploring all that the city had to offer. My room at the Sheraton Esplanade Berlin was a welcome respite from the chaos of traveling, with its comfortable bed and stunning view of the city. But as I settled in for what promised to be a long night of preparation, my eyelids began to droop.

My sleep was fitful, however, and I found myself wide awake before dawn. A review of the footage I had taken earlier that day revealed just how exhausted I was - the phrase "not bad" had become something of a mantra for me, uttered at least 70 times as I reflected on the events of the previous day.

As the hours ticked by, I knew I had to prepare myself for the press event scheduled for tonight. A Porsche was waiting for me outside my hotel room window, and I couldn't wait to take it for a spin. The Sheraton Esplanade Berlin was filled with some of the most beautiful Porsches I had ever seen, including a row of 911s that were simply stunning.

Just as I was starting to feel more awake, I realized that my room key was not responding to the usual prompt. After a few minutes of fiddling with it, I finally managed to get power flowing and opened up my table. But just as I was about to relax, I noticed something peculiar - a little European toilet that seemed to be calling out to me.

The rest of my day in Berlin was spent getting ready for the press event, which took place at 8 pm tonight. As I lay in bed trying to get some sleep, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation. Would it rain? Would there be any big announcements? Only time would tell.

As I drifted off into a fitful slumber, my mind began to wander back over the events of the day. From the moment I arrived in Berlin to the press event that lay ahead, every moment had been filled with excitement and anticipation. And yet, despite all the planning and preparation, there was still so much uncertainty about what the night would bring.

And then, just as I was starting to feel like I might actually get some rest, my phone started ringing. I groaned inwardly, knowing that this could be my only chance to catch a few winks before tonight's event. But it seemed like nobody had any interest in meeting up or taking a tour of the city - and so with no other option but to face the music, I reluctantly hit the snooze button on my alarm clock.

As I slowly came to, I realized that it was only 9 am according to local time, but for me, it felt more like 3 am. The hours between now and tonight's event were crucial - would I be able to shake off this jet lag and get through the day without too much trouble? Only time would tell.

My next move would have to wait until I had a bit of rest - so with that in mind, I said goodbye to Berlin for now.

of my uh first this is a milestone so ever since I started uh riding for Jalopnik I was um I've always wanted to go on a press trip and a lot of journalists have been you know they've gotten jaded and they don't want to do it and blah blah blah so when Porsche said would you like to be uh hold on one second New York airport yeah New York Airport Terminal C I was saying before I was so uh brutally interrupted uh so Porche um reached out to Jalopnik and said uh would you like to come out to the paname launch and Jalopnik said hey Freddy would you like to come well actually it's uh me desperately begging them to go and uh so I'm here so I am flying out to Berlin for the Panamera launch the 2017 Panamera and I can't be more excited one because I've never been to Germany and two because this is Porsche oh that's there's like no light here too because this is uh Porsche and they have fully paid for a business class or first class ticket for me round trip with hotels and everything so I'm going to take you every step of the way and hopefully we'll have some fun but I'm very excited so I just got past security and uh I'm a little hungry but one thing that you can do when you have a business class ticket is you don't have to buy food in the terminal uh you can just go to the lounge and go to the United Club Lounge since I'm FL United and uh eat something there so let's see what that's like place is absolutely packed starting from the right we have a fresh fruit followed by some I don't know celery and ranch dressing that I kind of went overboard on putting on my plate now here's some small desserts brownies rolls and uh some cheese I'm going close that up jeez and this is the other the side I think they have some uh a roasted vegetable soup H not bad guessing this is the same then salad bar and soup and salad bar it's not it's not that bad and here's a uh fruit mix or something trail mix and um chocolate chip cookies all right that was a little bit underwhelming um a lot of people here today I don't know that soup was uh it's not really sitting right with me but I think that is uh just an appetizer because on this flight there will be a lot of food and I'm quite excited about that so next time you see me um I will be in the seat so let's see what that looks like all right slight detour because this is the plane it's a Boeing 7 67400 she looks nice and that's my seat 7l Window Seat not a bad amount of leg room there all right so we have pillows and uh comforter that oh this is all mine what this is yeah figure it out later as you can see my huge laptop is not going to fit I'm probably going to have to put it up there check these out folds flat this is for uh your foot rest down here back support for Lumbar and uh seat back and I guess this is for eating and uh taking off got control Prett cool I turn this on oh this is going to be good two movies we have I have not seen any of these so it's about to be a uh 8 hour and 5 minute flight um I was up until 6:00 in the morning so I'm going to try to get some sleep uh as soon as we take off after we there's New York right there and that I believe is hoken but uh we are going a Long Way From Home look at Central Park it's so awesome so cool I don't know if you guys can see this but you can see the rain is going completely horizontal and it's going in the engine the reason why engines don't stall um like they would in a car uh because of water going in is because this uh this type of engine is called a high bypass engine and only about 10% of the air going in gets uh used as as combustion the rest is just used as like extra thrust uh for the turbo fan which is really really cool I mean if you just take a take a look at that wow that is so awesome sort of a sort of a PL geek I wish I knew more about him but uh yeah this is just awesome technology so we have some uh warm nuts so here we have some uh pre dinner bread pretty standard fair so here's the first uh course I believe an appetizer smoked salmon course number two or I guess the second appetiser is a salad and um I think this said was a creamy Burg sor good wow this awesome and this is the main course um I believe this is a beef short ribs and some uh mashed potatoes or something but it looks really good that is not bad sweet but yeah it's uh it's really good I mean it beats anything in economy I guess here's an after dinner snack there's some uh cheese crackers and grapes so the last course is an ice cream sunde I have mine with caramel and strawberry and uh it looks great I I don't know if I'm going to finish it but um I don't get to do this every day so if somebody offers you something you go for it so uh that's my advice would you like an ice cream sunday okay I have PCH carel so we just uh flew through the night and we have about um an hour left but uh I couldn't sleep got a little bit bumy but uh yeah I guess I'm just excited of uh excited to get to Berlin and uh see what they have in store for me so check that out it's about an hour and change before we land but uh they're already separ breakfast here so it's uh it's not bad uh look pretty healthy a lot healthier than uh what Berlin so uh instead of going to a regular terminal um they just put you on the tarmac and put you on a bus so there's a bunch bunch of buses lined up right here and uh I'm about to get on one of them apparently is are notorious for being non- air conditioned but who cares can't really complain there can I I have arrived at the Sheran Berlin and uh there are Porsches everywhere and I think you look let's see you're going to see behind me you see a row of 911s we might be able to drive those tomorrow but uh I have to figure that out so I'm gonna go to my room and you guys can check it out uh see Munich on a connecting flight so this will be my first German experience but I'm very very excited and let's just take a look at the room all right hopefully I can plug something in there here is a table where I will do no work because I'm going to hit that bed really really hard well maybe I'm going to try to stay awake actually how do you turn on the light here oh it's one of those things where you have to put the key in to get power to the room I don't know why they still do that so stupid all right key in oo little European toilet it's kind of cool sink bathroom hello so as it turns
