**The Fair Comparison Between iPads and iPod Touches**
When it comes to devices like iPads and iPod Touches, many people wonder if they are similar enough to compare them directly. While both devices share some similarities, they also have distinct differences that set them apart from each other.
One of the main points of contention is whether an iPad is simply a larger iPod Touch. Leelaport once said that "this isn't a swimming pool just a bigger version of a bathtub," which highlights the fact that while an iPad may share some similarities with an iPod Touch, it's still a distinct device with its own set of features and capabilities.
The iPad, for example, offers a much larger screen real estate than an iPod Touch, making it ideal for tasks like watching videos, browsing the web, or reading books. The multi-touch gestures on an iPad also provide a more immersive experience than what you'd find on an iPod Touch. This means that when people tell you to get an iPad just because it's a bigger iPod Touch, they're often being incorrect.
However, it's worth noting that an iPod Touch can still be a great device in its own right. For example, I use my iPod Touch as a backup music player, mainly if I'm on the train or going to New York City and don't want to wear down my iPhone battery. The portability of an iPod Touch makes it perfect for such situations.
In contrast, an iPad is designed with more advanced tasks in mind. It's not just a larger version of an iPod Touch; it's a device that can help you get work done or enjoy entertainment like never before. With its larger screen and more robust features, the iPad is definitely worth considering if you're looking for a device that can handle more demanding tasks.
**Audiobook Recommendation**
One such device that can handle more demanding tasks is an iPad. If you're interested in learning more about Apple's history and the life of Steve Jobs, I highly recommend checking out "Icon: Steve Jobs and the Making of the iPod, iPhone, and iTunes" by Leander Kahney.
This audiobook is a great resource for anyone looking to learn more about the evolution of Apple's products. With over 13 hours of listening time, it's an in-depth look at the history of Apple and the people who helped shape its success.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey guys where are you david franklin here from defranco.com ask that is your open forum for as many questions such as this one today's question comes from i mean hussein two there's a number two on the end and a little at signs i'm assuming that's his twitter name maybe maybe not hey i'll try it out link below follow him enjoy so thank you amin for the great question and to me says hi david this question is about the ipad and the ipod touch i want to find your opinions and which one you like better lots of people are saying that the ipad is just a bigger version of the ipod touch so i would like to know your opinion thanks thank you amin for the great question okay so let's get the big question out of the way is the ipad simply a large ipod touch well honestly in a way yes but is that necessarily a bad thing but first of all before we get into that let's talk about the iphone vs ipod touch now the iphone well i should say the ipod touch is essentially the iphone without the phone functionality you can't make phone calls besides skype and whatever and facetime uh and it doesn't have the beefed up specs like the iphone does so that's more of a fair comparison in a way they're very similar devices but yes fancier question i mean the ipad is simply a large ipod touch but that's not necessarily a bad thing that's just how it is for example and i'm gonna semi quote leelaport i don't know the exact words but he did say this isn't a swimming pool just a bigger version of a bathtub essentially yeah it is i mean it's just a larger body of water to enjoy yourself in that's essentially what it is and is that a bad thing no it's just a swimming pool allows you to do so much more than a bathtub does and it's no different when when you compare the ipad to the ipod touch the ipod touch might allow you to do certain things while awesome things at that with certain apps and certain functions and capabilities and all that good stuff but the ipad with the larger screen real estate and the ability to do more gestures with you know multi-touch it's such a different experience so when people tell you don't get an ipad just because it's a bigger ipod touch i'm sorry to say this but they're wrong yes it's just a bigger ipod touch in a way but it goes beyond that so next time somebody tells you that i mean or anybody watching this video just say well isn't a swimming pool simply a bigger bathtub and they'll look at you say oh good point you're right maybe they won't maybe they'll be stubborn but the point is guys listen to me when i say this trust me i own an iphone i own an ipod touch and i own an ipad yeah i'm a bit of an apple freak if you can't tell and i love all devices equally well honestly i should say i don't really touch my ipod touch see what it did there i didn't even mean to do that a little pun um i use it as a backup music device like if i'm on the train go to new york city or anything like that and i don't want to wear down my battery but speaking in terms of iphone slash ipod touch and ipad they're completely different devices with completely different goals in mind for the user and there you go i mean i really hope that answered your question it was a very easy question but a very good question at that so thank you very much for the awesome question if i say a question one more time let's just get onto the audiobook today's free audiobook is all about steve jobs it's been a while since i've done since i've done a steve jobs centric audiobook and today's audiobook is called icon steve
