Our Crazy Journey to the Soapbox Race

**The Red Bull Stunt: A Thrilling Adventure**

We stood at the starting line, our hearts racing with anticipation, as we prepared to embark on an unforgettable journey. Our mission was to create a stunt that would push the limits of human endurance and showcase the power of the Red Bull brand. We had been given four weeks to complete this feat, and we were determined to make it happen.

As we set off, our first challenge was to find a suitable replica of the Red Bull aircraft. After scouring the market, we finally found one that would serve as the perfect model for our stunt. Our team worked tirelessly to replicate the iconic design, and after three and a half weeks of hard work, it was complete.

Our next step was to assemble a team of experts who could help us bring this vision to life. We brought in a combination of me and Miles to lead the project, with the help of many others who shared our passion for innovation and speed. Our team worked around the clock to design and build a futuristic car that would match the sleek lines of the Red Bull aircraft.

**Costumes and Safety Gear**

To complete the look, we designed costumes that matched the futuristic theme of the car. We wanted to create an immersive experience for the audience, so our clothing was aggressive, edgy, and full of metallic details. Our gloves were specially designed to provide maximum grip and protection, while our shiny wings added a touch of elegance to our overall design.

However, as we began testing the ramp, it became clear that safety would be a top priority. The first ramp proved to be particularly hazardous, with its double jump and steep incline. Many people hit it at full speed, resulting in serious injuries. We realized that we had to take extra precautions to ensure our own safety, while also capturing the drama of the stunt on camera.

**The Experience**

As we climbed into our car, a sense of nervousness washed over us. We knew that this was going to be an intense ride, and we were ready for anything. The engine roared to life as we prepared to launch ourselves down the ramp, with nothing but air between us and the ground.

Our first few runs were marked by terror and uncertainty, as we struggled to master the speed and agility required to navigate the treacherous terrain. But with each attempt, we grew more confident, our movements becoming smoother and more precise.

**The Final Leap**

As we approached the final ramp, our hearts were racing with excitement. We had made it this far without incident, but we knew that the next few seconds would be crucial in determining our success. With a deep breath, we launched ourselves off the third big jump, soaring through the air at breakneck speeds.

The second big jump loomed ahead of us, and for a moment, we felt like we were flying. The rush of adrenaline was almost overwhelming as we hurtled towards the ground, our wings held tight to avoid losing control. It was an exhilarating experience that left me questioning my very sanity.

**A Record-Breaking Attempt**

Our journey culminated in a record-breaking attempt on the ramp, with the aim of achieving the fastest time ever recorded. As we sped down the incline, the speedometer read 52 kilometers per hour – a heart-stopping pace that left us both breathless and elated.

The judges were stunned by our performance, and though we didn't win the top prize, we took home the People's Choice Award for our bravery and determination. As I reflect on this incredible experience, I'm reminded of the power of teamwork, innovation, and a shared passion for speed.

**The Aftermath**

In the aftermath of our stunt, we were met with a mix of awe and fear from the audience. Some people were terrified by the sheer speed and danger involved, while others were inspired by our courage and determination.

As I looked around at my fellow competitors, I realized that this experience had brought us all closer together. We had formed bonds over our shared passion for speed and innovation, and we knew that we would always have a special bond as a result of this adventure.

**Conclusion**

This stunt was an incredible journey that pushed the limits of human endurance and showcased the power of the Red Bull brand. From designing a replica of the aircraft to navigating treacherous ramps at breakneck speeds, our team worked tirelessly to bring this vision to life.

As we look back on this experience, I'm filled with a sense of pride and accomplishment. We may not have won the top prize, but we took home something far more valuable – the knowledge that we are capable of achieving greatness when we work together towards a shared goal.

**What's Next?**

So, what's next for our team? We're already brainstorming ideas for our next project, and I'm excited to see where this journey will take us. Whether it's building an even faster car or creating something entirely new, we know that with hard work, determination, and a shared passion for speed, anything is possible.

**Red Bull Gives You Wings**

This stunt was made possible by the support of Red Bull, who provided us with the resources and expertise to bring this vision to life. We're grateful for their trust in our abilities and their commitment to pushing the boundaries of human achievement.

As I look up at the iconic Red Bull logo, I'm reminded of the power of innovation and the importance of taking risks. Whether you're an adrenaline junkie or just someone who loves speed, there's no denying the thrill of the chase – and we're honored to have been a part of it.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enthere's been one serious accident we don't know I'm sure he's doing okay but like he stopped for a while yeah it was pretty bad people were like painting in the audience and stuff we competed in the Red Bull Soapbox race in London and almost got wrecked it's a crazy event where people from all over the world compete to build the weirdest coolest and most random cars and then race them down a hill we spent over 200 hours building our very own Supercar Blondie hypercar four of us flew out to London and we had one goal in mind win first place all right let's rewind to March four months before the event Nathan randomly bumped into a video online of some guys dressed as fried eggs driving a pan down a hill and Nathan was like haha this is funny and thought that looks like so much fun if only I worked at a huge social media page it's somehow related to cars then it hit him I gotta get back to work I'm on a deadline man fast forward a few days Nathan showed the video to the rest of the team and we discovered there was an upcoming race happening in London okay so it's in London the rules are simple you need to build your own car it needs to have brakes and steering and you need to have four people on your team including the driver but we had a problem we had four people but none of us had ever built a car and even if we had to build a car how are we even gonna get it to London we had another problem to apply for the race we needed a design and the deadline for that application was only a few weeks away we spent days drawing up designs researching how to build a car and even ran some tests okay after about a week we decided we needed help we only had two months now until the race and we had absolutely nothing we had to find someone in the UK that could build a car from scratch in that amount of time and have enough time to test it we emailed and called about a million places eventually we got to the point where we decided to scrap the project we were just spending way too much time on it and we just weren't getting anywhere the juice wasn't worth the squeeze but then out of nowhere Ludo came out and said he found a garage that had worked on a bunch of crazy projects in the outskirts of London who said they could actually pull it off DT Motorsports a small Garage in Essex UK run by an ex-racer named Mick that specializes in customizing performance cars with a reputation to back it up they were confident in building the best chassis the Red Bull Soapbox had ever seen something lightweight fast sturdy that could go over jumps and handle like a go-kart after the chassis was built it would be handed over a few blocks away to the paintbox team a group of rock and rollers led by Simon with a passion for building the weird and the crazy we were back baby we needed to find a look what kind of car did we want and why right well it has to be related to Supercar Blondie so why not a big camera we started drawing up ideas and after a lot of debate came up with this there she was a futuristic alien concept car with wings with what looked like two escaped prisoners behind the wheel but let's ignore that for a second it was beautiful we had the idea we had the people and we had one month to build this car the people over in London at DT Motorsports got cracking fast forward three weeks and we got the call with the race only days away Sergi and Nathan grabbed a flight to London to see it in person for the first time we're here the guys at DT had created a beautiful chrome blue looking chassis with all the bells and whistles it even had double Wishbone suspension at the front what that basically does is keep the tires flat when we're turning so we're going high speed turning it the terrible stay flat get extra traction zip it down the hill Simon and the team over at paintbox were busy working on the body at that moment the car was still pretty much a chassis and almost none of the body had even been installed wow this is awesome wow this looks incredible yes come and get a really good so far but yeah now we're at the point of just try to work out yeah everything so I'm glad you're here because you've got some decisions we were three days away from the race and still had a naked car we didn't know if we're gonna make it and we're pretty nervous so basically we want to shoot out like a fire extinguisher from the back to give it like a smoke effect they're removing the paint search okay so just like that I think you just gotta pull it out I think uh Mission failed oh foreign they're doing all the Hocus Pocus you know they've already done the Mainframe and uh basically they're gonna try to stick and this is a wing that we actually want to revolve upwards so uh yeah because Red Bull gives you wings we're gonna stick a can in there yeah that's what we're going for the day before the race Nick and I flew to London for the final inspection thanks guys thank you looks great and the team over at 64 Deluxe finished off the body in a chrome wrap that made this thing pop and I love the touch of the band's Soul used as the break that's vibes oh yeah it this is so slow we're gonna be going so much I feel like we're in safe hands like with the way they've built it really like I don't think like there's no way this thing's falling apart like this no no no no the chassis the only thing is if we fall out of the chairs it'd be fine you'll be all right everyone say goodbye I don't even know what to expect a last meal tonight or something I don't know maybe some tacos this thing was fast and it looked incredible it completely exceeded our expectations ocean again thank you all so so much I really appreciate all your hard work and it looks amazing way better than I ever thought yeah so thank you so so much guys I'm just gonna try and not die it was go time go we're going up we're going up we drove over to the location of the race Alexandra Palace we set up our car in our allocated space our very first soapbox in the Red Bull Soapbox race you ready to see this foreign that's the tactic you know just blind everyone Before the Race yeah it's a great time it works so Holly's here to make sure that we have done everything correctly and we're allowed to actually participate yeah is that oh sorry is that going down with you yes okay is that being secured it is a little bit more okay okay guys happy to find that off yeah yeah sweet past soji yes you're going down he was hoping it wouldn't pass he's shooting himself you know whatever happens happens we walked around to check out some of the coolest cars we were up against Harry Potter Hagrid's bike yeah um driving the car and we're gonna have Harry Potter sitting in are you Harry Potter no I'm hungry and it runs on Red Bull obviously yeah yeah how many hours working on uh we started on the 30th of May yeah May well and we texted in four weeks every every evening every evening for four weeks all right well good luck guys gonna make it down the confidence is right up there we're the rebel alone Rebel Alliance like this thing is freaking amazing so okay all right tell us about it what's the inspiration why this Red Bull gives you wings you wanted to do something for Red Bull yeah yeah so what has wings so remember so we had four yeah replica I found the toy you know so it took about three and a half weeks yeah it took about three and a half weeks who did it you guys actually did it was there a combination of me and Miles really yeah I don't have this on my seat I don't know I should have put a request in my butt's gonna be hurting big time yeah sure everyone's making this on such a amazing budget now for a car this futuristic we needed costumes to match it skin type futuristic body aggressive gloves and most importantly shiny Wings we were ready to go this is when things got serious Roomba started spreading that the first ramp was the most dangerous as it had a double jump if you went fast enough you would fly off the first ramp and hit the second ramp head on many people were hitting it at full speed and getting seriously injured all right we are in the line actually I'm starting to get nervous like I had to got the mouth guard ready ah there's been one serious accident we don't know I'm sure he's doing okay but like it stops for a while yeah it was pretty bad people were like facing on the audience and stuff so I think the mood kind of got a bit funny now it's kind of getting back up again but for a little while everyone's like oh this is serious you know um we're still going to go as fast as possible yeah we are I'm still not going to put the brakes on screw it we wanted to record the fastest time so hitting the brakes was not an option little did we know just how close we would come to regretting that decision we're up next guys we're up next massive thank you too our sponsor Frank Miller the Nakamoto is out here it is coming down with me baby all right you guys are looking super how are you feeling I'm actually a bit nervous oh don't be nervous I'm sure you'll be fine uh anyway this is the Supercar Blondie Smash It guys foreign foreign scores three eights and a nine to getting their helmets on all the way from Dubai keep it up Supercar Blondie that is Red Bull dead I hope it's an early on there beautiful wings all right Supercar fondy let's see what you've got I think this is going to be super like I said all the way from Dubai they're playing brick bomb and score nice start is looking a little bit of scared she's looking a little bit nervous straight over the water feature that was a big impact but they keep it on going straight over the wedge still smiling yes 31. on the SR speed camera straight over the kicker and into the hay bells 59 seconds on and we made it we completed the hill in just 39 seconds the fastest time ever recorded was around 35 seconds and we even hit that last ramp at 52 kilometers an hour we absolutely blazed through that hill and I had no idea at the time but Sergi was getting thrown around like a ragdoll in the back the first ramp he hit it at top speed just like we said we would Sergi lost grip on the handles from the impact and was catapulted out of his seat with nothing to hold on to he grabbed my head as a last resort and pulled himself back in he literally jumped on my head and somehow landed on the side of the chassis on the second big jump with the stairs the entire body flew right off and drilled Sergey smack bang in the face and on the final jump we both held on for dear life but I think soji legitimately thought he was going to die you have been laughing and crying the whole way up the hill we don't know what happened I want to see it all in slow-mo I almost landed on Alex's head uh I literally flew off the seat had complete clearance and I saw the ground and then I don't know how but I landed back in they're flying ah you're so scared oh my God my face no way um we've been called down so maybe you I don't know what's happening we didn't get a Podium from the judges but we got first place for the People's Choice Award but most importantly we had an incredible experience doing something completely bizarre and we look forward to doing it again make sure you like the video guys and subscribe to Supercar Blondie what do you guys think should we do it again and what should be our design for next year pop it in the comment section down below yeah then done nice work nice work cool paint bucks and the duty Motorsports
