The Name Curse: A Boring Romance that Failed to Deliver
I read "The Name Curse" because it was about Alaska and I love books about Alaska, and I wanted to read more so I could recommend more. But Landline wasn't for me - it just didn't grab my attention. It had this great premise that could have been amazing, but sadly did not deliver.
We Have Another Test Book: Good Lord How Many Disappearing Books!
I also have another testament book that I read this year, and either way, it was a disappointment. The title says "Tonight", "Today", "Tomorrow, Always". It was good enough to finish, but I'm sad to say that because this book was like her vampire paranormal series which I loved the first book in - "Reborn" yesterday! It's one of my favorites by her and one of my favorite romances of all time. This last one, however, was just kind of meh - it was okay.
The Sweet Spot: A Sequel that Fell Short
This book is actually the sequel to "Float Plan", which came out this year. It was good enough to finish, but I did not really like it nearly as much as "Float Plan". That's just my personal opinion. If you've read both books, you might disagree.
Good Girl Complex: A Boring Romance that Failed to Engage
Another book that came out this year was "Good Girl Complex", which was good enough to finish but ultimately failed to engage me. I couldn't tell anything about it because I had no clue what the plot was about. And you know what? That's just fine with me - sometimes a book can be enjoyable without having to understand its intricacies.
The Party Crasher: A Solid, But Unremarkable Romance
"Sophie Gonzillo" wrote "The Party Crasher", which was...fine. Good fun, like it was good. It wasn't one of my favorite Sophie Gonzillo books, but it was a solid one. I enjoyed the read, even if it didn't leave a lasting impression.
Nick and Noel's Christmas Playlist: A Boring Romance that Disappointed
On the other hand, "Nick and Noel's Christmas Playlist" was both one of my least favorite books of the year and also one that disappointed me. It just didn't grab me in any way - I found it boring from start to finish.
Hook, Line, and Seek: A Long, Rambling Romance
The sequel to "It Happened One Summer", "Hook, Line, and Seek" was good enough to finish, but ultimately fell short of my expectations. The book just rambled on too long for me - I wanted more from the characters, but it seemed like they were struggling to get their stories together.
Thor Oh Window Shopping: A Favorite Romance Novel
One of my favorite romance novels, "Window Shopping", by Tessy Wynter, is a wonderful holiday romance that warmed my heart. It didn't have much plot, but I still ended up enjoying it - the author's writing style is just so cute and engaging.
Across Country Christmas: A Surprisingly Good Holiday Romance
I also loved "Across Country Christmas"! This was one of her holiday books across country series, which I had read before, and I knew I would love this one. But what surprised me was how much I enjoyed it - the plot was about second chance romance and road trips, and it just felt so heartwarming and holiday-ish to me.
The Grump Who Stole Christmas: A Cute, If Unremarkable, Holiday Romance
Finally, there's "The Grump Who Stole Christmas", a cute but unremarkable holiday novella that was good enough to finish. It didn't have much plot, but I liked the main character anyway - she wasn't exactly sunshine and rainbows.
Fiery Fantastic: A Wonderful, Steamy Holiday Romance
And then there's "Fiery Fantastic" by Tessy Wynter! This is another holiday book in her Across Country series that truly surprised me. It was about a grumpy hero who stole the heart of a businesswoman, and it just worked for me - I loved this book so much!
The Mistletoe Motive: A Wonderful Holiday Romance with a Strong Meet-Cute
Another holiday romance that I thoroughly enjoyed is "The Mistletoe Motive". This one was about a grumpy hero who met his match in a businesswoman, and it had just the right amount of steam to keep me engaged. It's a wonderful holiday read that left me feeling warm and fuzzy inside.
Other Holiday Romances
I also want to mention two more holiday romances - "A Holiday Bro" (unromantic novella) and "No Romance Novella". The first one was actually cute, and I enjoyed the story, even though it didn't have much of a plot. The second one... well, that's just not really my cup of tea.
My Favorite Romance Book
And finally, there's "Reborn" by Tessy Wynter - this is still one of my favorite romance novels of all time! It's the first book in her vampire paranormal series, which I fell deeply in love with.
